I'm finding it really hard to decide what ages this game is supposed to be appropriate for. The controls are very clunky and the way the map rotates is unnecessarily complicated and unintuitive. This makes locating items fiddly, especially since some hotspots are awkwardly placed and/or too small. Simply put, this is another game that tries to make 3D work in a new genre and fails: the 3D aspects add very few benefits and too many frustrations. The visuals are colourful and fun, and the story…

8.5/10 - Majestic, Innovative Hidden Object Gem This is probably one of the best hidden object games I’ve ever played. At $3, it will be extremely easy to get your money’s worth from this game. The graphics are beautiful and unique and the world has a 3D element to it which I really enjoy. There are some puzzles and different hunting objectives that make up these lengthy maps. There 14 total stages total; each stage us about 20-35 minutes making this game a solid 7+ hours. Each level gets…

Information / Review English Elementary My Dear Majesty! is a point and click adventure game developed by Alawar Dreamdale. Gameplay / Story The world is in danger because the king's daughter has turned into a man-eating monster. It is now a hero's job to find a cure and save the world. To do this, the players slip into the role of a detective named Felix, have to make their way through 14 different locations and solve around 100 puzzles. On the way you meet knights, dragons and witches,…

Honestly, this is one of the best game in the genre imo. The biggest downside I found with Elementary My Deat Majesty! was that since I was trying to get gold medal for clues and time on each levels, I couldn't carefully read through the funny dialogues. In term of ambiance, both the music and the artstyle is really pleasing. I was getting bored of earing the same old tracks near the end, but that was after 3 hours of consecutive gameplay trying to find objects in various maps... Just about…

Nifty and humourous HOG with some usability issues A 3D HOG? Never seen that before, but I've wondered about the concept. It mostly pulls it off, with some issues detailed below. The good Funny! This game got many laughs out of me, just from the silly situations that characters find themselves in and the conversations they have. Plenty of locations to play in, with plenty of gameplay in each. The 3d aspect allows you to rotate and zoom around certain scenes to look for objects. Plenty of…

Charming and enjoyable. Pretty funny with SFW humor (and appropriate for little kids). The controls are a bit clunky but it's one-of-a-kind within its genre, it's worth trying at least - there's a free demo available that will help you decide. Besides goal-oriented item finding you have a variety of puzzles in every level, from your regular jigsaw to more complex timed or action-based puzzles, all of which you can skip if you want or need to. Very cute graphics. Give the demo a try, if you are…

It is a hidden object game, but it's a very different gameplay experience than most of the others. -partially 3D. The maps are all 3D, but there are constrained camera angles. I liked this aspect overall. -no maps/traveling. You can chose which order to do the areas in, but there's no backtracking etc -very difficult to find items sometimes, but there is a hint function. -no achievements Overall: worth getting, but only on sale

First of all, whoever was in the role of the level designer or the quality assurance team for this game should be fired completely. You can't rotate the stage 360 degrees like other 3D games, probably about 5 degrees clockwise from 6 o' clock and that's the maximum. The art style is very well done, albeit you can see some 2D on the Z-axis. That is a cheap trick for a game that claims to be a 3D game, but I won't complain. Because for it's price, the art and models are very well done. Story is…

I like the idea of funny fairy tale about a kingdom, brave hero and princess. The simplifed art style graphics of the places is great form for presenting the story and solving the tasks. I am usually positive about games and there is a lot of inovative and original things here in the game. So where is the problem. Other negative reviews have similar objections as me and they are sometimes in positive reviews too. 3D model is great but brings only few benefits and many frustrations. There are…

There are hidden object games and then there is this. Very often the objects are hidden behind other (unmovable) objects, or in the darkness or plainly aren't really there. I finished for completionism's sake but I wouldn't recommend it

I was very interested to see a 3D Hidden Objects game, and on some levels it works. However, there's sooo many interface issues with moving the camera around that it kills it and makes you wish it was 2D. Dialogues overstay their welcome, and there's too much repetition in some areas, like the canons and cranes -- for which you can't move the camera at all so sometimes it's really a guess to know where you'll end up. Nice try, but can't recommend.

:o! This is pretty good for a rather cheap game. ^-^ It doesn't make you motion sick whilst you try to rotate your camera/search for stuff and it has humor to it as well! The hero's mustache is so skinny and long... It looks all wrong...! But that's how it's designed. So if you played Cats in Time or Hidden Paws... This is rather similar. It DOES have a cat... Pretty sure it's the same black one though. Right well... You go from floating scenery to floating scenery and do quests.…

Elementary My Dear Majesty! is a mobile app-like low poly family friendly point-and-click adventure game with numerous simple hidden object and physics puzzles and minigames. There's a somewhat nonsensical fairy-tale themed story with a lot of iPhone screen tapping to step along through the simple storyline. Collect enough fruit for this, collect enough cogs for that, play a crane minigame to put this over there, that kind of thing. Shallow, not all that interesting for a PC game, but it…

Thumbs down! There were some good moments in this game, but it’s not really worth the frustration to get to them. I liked the story and the artwork and there were a few funny jokes, but the actual gameplay left a lot to be desired. Finding hidden objects in 3D has the potential to be a good gimmick, but in this game the 3D aspect is limited. The amount you can actually rotate varies from level to level, but some levels only allow you to rotate a few degrees. You can’t rotate a full 360…

Well...parts of this game are enjoyable, although some of the minigame puzzles can be annoying and unintuitive (see the numerous "pick which order to click these in" minigames that don't actually give you a hint on what order to use, so you just have to use trial-and-error). Also, while some of the hidden objects are, well, properly hidden, there's quite a few, typically at least one per scene, that are just not visible even with the limited rotation mechanic, and which can only be found by…

An easy to recommend Hidden Object and puzzle game! Beautifully done 3D style graphics, nice soothing music, funny storyline and good puzzler. The camera controls on some levels can be a little weird at first, but once you have gotten used to it, I feel it added to the charms. Several styles of hidden object, many different logic, memory, 'follow me' and other mini puzzles give good variety. There are 14 areas/levels most containing mini areas inside. For me it felt the right length. I got a…

As hidden object games go, this one is pretty interesting. The story is funny enough (I can't stand the majority of the pseudo-romance H.O. games at all) and the 3D aspect is quite innovative. My only problem was the contrast on some levels, which were too bright (like the Pyramid and the North Pole). Apart from not being able to see some areas clearly, it was almost a strain for my eyes. Other than that, it was a fun, colourful and enjoyable experience!

The 3d effect looks very good. The camera control is terrible. I was also a little confused by the hint and solve button. Mostly the solve button. Also their is no tutorial to guide you into the game. The game feels very rough. The user interface is just bad. So the game gives you a list of parts to look and sometimes you have to use them. You have to use a crane in one scene to pick up and drop gears on a ship. The trouble is their is no shadow on the ground to judge where to drop the…

3D Hog - first ever I played Game is hard partially - some elements are well hidden and/or hard 'spottable'. Game is totally opposite to "seriousness", it's filled with a lot of humor of weird kind. I played it with some family members and they were laughing a lot about things inside game, like trying to shoot cat with cannon. It's good game, but it's not something I will tell my friends "you have to play this game", but it was a pleasant *enough* experience to give thumb up.

I am a hardcore strategy gamer. Sometimes I play adventure or even hidden object for a few minutes, but get pretty sick of them. But this one I will keep coming back to until I finish. The "puzzles" (such as they are) are cute and a bit clever. The cartoonish hidden objects are just enough of a challenge (IMO). The story is pretty funny. I was enjoying the game, despite its flaws, until it came to the North Pole level and smacked me in the face with sudden anti-Native racism. My thoughts: "Okay, this character is definitely a member of one of the northern native tribes, and he's an 'Eskimo.'" "Aaaaand he's speaking in broken English, unlike every other character so far." "AND HE'S DUMB ENOUGH TO SIT STILL AND LET SNOW BURY HIM????" No recommendation, refund requested.

This game isn't an outright stinker, but it's really not very good. It's an ambitious attempt to make a hidden-object game in a 3D environment, which doesn't entirely fail, but demonstrates that, really, the traditional image-based approach to hidden objects works better. It wasn't particularly challenging, even on the higher difficulty setting. It might serve better as a kids' game than for adults, but children would probably find a few of the minigames tricky.

Elementary My Dear Majesty! is an attempt to rethink the hidden object genre by shifting it into a fully 3D space, combining traditional item-search mechanics with light adventure elements and a whimsical fantasy narrative. Developed by Alawar Dreamdale and published by Alawar Casual, it takes a formula that is usually static and familiar, then adds spatial exploration and environmental interaction in an effort to make it feel more dynamic. The result is a game that feels both inventive and…

Look, why are we here? After such a long time since its release? WHYYYY? The launch for this game is buggy as heck. It takes more time waiting for it to launch and start, than it takes to play. Now, don't misunderstand. Taking in consideration how long it has been since it was published, the gameplay is alright. It has problems, yes, but it's relatively simple and works. Surprisingly. This is a very cute 3D hidden object and puzzle game! Not very difficult to find objects (though some are placed cleverly to blend with the environment!) and solve the puzzles, but each chapter gets rated from 1 to 3 on how quickly you finished it and on use of hints. In which Dream Dale, wanting to make a 3-D hidden object game but low on budget, ended up reusing assets from Magic Ball/Smash Frenzy 3 and 4. Pretty fun time waster with a pretty strange story, Seriously Alawar, you're missing out on all the money you could make on releasing all 4 Magic Ball/Smash Frenzy games (including the spin-offs of Magic Ball/Smash Frenzy 2) on Steam, at the very least remaster all four of them like Gamigo is doing for WildTangent's FATE!
