positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright. Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 3 is done and dusted. This was actually a direct sequel to HotK: TLT2, which IIRC is the first time that's happened in the Hero of the Kingdom series. Either way though, this is that, and as such, it actually felt a bit more streamlined to a specific story rather than finding your way into the plot as was the case in previous entries. In fact, the entire game felt more linear than previous entries in the series. I don't count that as a negative.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RANKING: AVOID | FLAWED | MAYBE | WORTHWHILE | COMPELLING | UNMISSABLE SYNOPSIS: ASSESSMENT: Heroes of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 3 is the final entry of The Lost Tales trilogy. A solid incarnation that delivers the same casual styled, point and click gameplay of previous titles. A satisfying story to complete. With a more compact game world that reduces the need for excessive backtracking. The familiar setting and locations may instil a feeling of Deja vu, but this time only a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It really hurts to give a thumbs down. I played the whole series, starting with Hero of the Kingdom 1, and really loved the chilled and relaxed gameplay. This part (the 6th) is not bad - but just not good enough. Not good enough for such a great "franchise" like Hero of the Kingdom. Somehow, the series has the tendency that the grind gets more and more annoying from part to part. The first games, there was simply no grind, you could play the game basically just by doing your quests,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally, I find it less grindy than usual of this series. Buy/sell ETFs mead works pretty fast to make your wallet thick. But. What I felt wrong about this game is text. It feels like being written quickly. Would be nice to have more meaningful side quests. I also miss feature when all field activities were refreshed after you spend a night at camp. Now camping makes no sense at all. You can't chop wood for some reason. Same old gameplay, UI, graphics, practically no change. It doesn't feel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fine game in the series. Don't play it if you haven't played the previous ones as it relies (at least emotionally) on you having some idea who the good guy and bad guy are. I hadn't played the previous game in at least 4 or 5 years, so I found it a somewhat tedious series of fetch quests, but it was easy enough and quick enough that I'm recommending it. It's a good palette cleanser between longer games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →on the one hand, it's the same as all the others before, so if you liked those, you'll like this. has a demo and they made it work on older operating systems, so I guess they're doing some under-the-hood work and not using the same code from 2012. on the other hand, it's the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing for the 6th time now, without any quality of life improvements. it's still one fetch quest after another but still no quest log to see who needs what. still no list of vendors to quickly see who…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decline of a series, uninspired sequel. Part 3 of The Lost Tales is the first in the Hero of the Kingdom series that I give a thumb down. It lacks new ideas. All previous monster types have been blended in a lackluster story. There is no meaningful conclusion, instead the game leaves you after 2.5 hours of gameplay with several cliffhangers of "approaching armies" of each of factions introduced in previous iterations of the series. It has an uninteresting map, lack of complex reward chains…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily the worst game in the entire series. This game requires you to grind for gold so you can do pretty much anything. Need to kill any animal, you need 1 or potions. Oh, your weapon broke btw while you only have 12 gold. Better find a way to grind for money. Too bad it takes hours to purchase anything. It seems the only reliable way of making gold is digging manure and selling it for pennies. The only alternative is to just cheat, and I had to add over 10k gold just to buy all the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freakin' fantastic. We need more games like this. Errand simulator + Hidden Object game. A lot less hidden objects in this game in the series, unfortunately. Where did the clams and pearls go?! :( I hope the next game ups the number of hidden objects to find.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big fan of the entire game series so was kinda let down by this one. Story and gameplay weren't as engaging, it felt like a repeat of the story we already saw in the other games (and no new gameplay features). The amount of materials you could find in the game wasn't enough to allow you to craft/trade everything you needed, you had to buy a lot of things by the end of the game. A bunch of things that were "craftable" (tradable) in previous games weren't here, you had to buy them too. I also…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ну вот я и прошел все части и могу кое-что сказать. Первый три части лучшие в своем роде. Первая прелестна, вторая дополняет, а третья уже с экспериментальными механиками. The lost tales в целом разочаровала. Она ощущается и проработана даже хуже первой, такое ощущение, что это просто вытягивание денег на франшизе. И качество очень посредственное, даже визуал. Как будто делала уже совершенно другая команда. ------ Well, I’ve finished all the parts and can say a few things. The first three parts…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of the same, but that's exacatly what fans of Hero of the kingdom want. Like the previous lost tales the game is about 3h long. Hope this review will help in removing the profile features limit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kindom 1,2,and 3 were all better in their content and challenges than the following three each getting poorer in content and challenges, the challenges becoming a repeat on earlier games, if they intend a 7th in the series it needs more depth and bigger map locations to be a patch on the first three.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →same as before but with a little more of everything. again. nothing wrong with that though. as usual the difficulty level is at zero but it's still fun and keeps you busy on a rainy day or two. finishing, 100%ing and seeing all the game has to offer took 3 1/2 hours. for less than 2 bucks during sale you really can't complain. in case you are new to the hero of the kingdom games: starting with the very first game of the series would make sense but it's not strictly necessary. back to my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1.7/10 when you remove ALL the gameplay and its just fetch quests endlessly
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit sad, but for the last one I have to stop recommending. This one has nothing new to offer, it kinda feels like a downgrade. I did get my playtime worth, by not searching any hints or ways to farm gold, but the story was kinda of lame with a lot of open endings. Apparently this is a prequel, and it continuesly references previous games, which I don't remember that well, so that was a minus too. Yea, I would've rather just replayed one of the others games, this one I don't think is worth…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although I enjoyed all the previous games in the series I cannot recommend this one. In previous games resource management was well thought out. You had to consider whether to sell a particular resource or save it for later use. Here however, it's just dumb shopkeeper micromanagement and too many quests end with the "Thanks bro, here's nothing" approach. It became the "SELL some amount of X to get Y amount of gold, from which you can buy the Z" and you have to do that way too many times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed it but still find that the Lost Tales series is way too short, it took me under 4h to complete and a lot of that was uselessly mucking about to turn resources and money into other resources, into yet other resources... It's worth it at a discount though! Edited to add: as others have pointed out, there's also lots of fetch quests but this time I felt like a lot more of them were simultaneous and it was harder to keep track of what needed prioritizing. Also what could/not be sold and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales III is the sixth (and last Lost Tales) installment in the series. It's a point-and-click game with resource management in an isometric style. The game continues right where the last one ended. This time you play as Brent, a young hunter who stepped into the portal after the dark wizard to stop him. Visually it looks exactly the same as the other entries in the series, which is fine by me. The gameplay hasn't changed from previous games either. It's just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm always happy to play a Hero of the Kingdom game. If you liked the others in the series you will like this one as well. I would not start with this title if you haven't played the others first though. It's good for about four hours of diversion. The resource management is a bit tighter than for previous games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 3 – Click First, Ask Questions Later In this delightfully wholesome medieval click-fest, you’re not so much a hero as you are the kingdom’s most enthusiastic errand boy. Something lost? You’ll find it. Hungry farmer? You’ve got bread (unless you ate it all again. Rookie mistake). From gathering herbs to saving villages with nothing but a mouse click and an optimistic attitude, you’re the multitasking savior this world didn’t know it needed. Combat?…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's really nice to see old characters coming back and as usual, you wait for the next opus. When will it be released ?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Third episode in the Lost Tales story arc of the renowned HotK series, this one continues right after the previous Lost Tales 2 ended, and directly precedes the very first game in the series, bringing back locations and characters that we all know and love. In every aspect this game is almost like a clone of previous episodes: again you gather items and resources, use them in quests, have them reworked in other goods or sell them; fight monsters, build a military camp and stop an evil wizard…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pleasant three hours long adventure just like the previous installments.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked the rest of the series, this is more of it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh right, didnt answer the question in my other post. Little Missfortune is probably the top of my list of short but great games. Cthulu Saves the World and even shorter, Cthulu Saves Christmas if you want some bite sized JRPG goodness. Breath of Death VII from the same dev is also short. Im also a sucker for Hidden Object Adventure gsmes which all take 2-4 hours. Artifex Mundi was my favorite dev for those until 2020 when they pivoted to a mobile dev. Donut County was really addicting and…
unlabelledView post →Love the fun/value ration on these games when they are on sale ! :) 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom is always fun, this one is a nice addition. The first 3 games are longer, with more achievements and hidden stuff to find, "the lost tales" ones are shorter, achievements are easier to get, more focused on the story. I recommend if you like to search hidden objects and simple stories
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this franchise. It's always a bit of a struggle money wise, so you're really spending your time travelling from point A to D to T to B to E to Z...sometimes a bit annoying, I'd like a game where you can just basically farm and get a lot more resources
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 3 - What a great series to play again. Thought about it last night and checked Steam, saw there's one I didn't own and bought it immediately. Straight forward point & click with a very casual and calm vibe to it, doing quests, collecting mushrooms, barrels and boxes, hunting some game and picking flowers. I honestly didn't follow the story too tightly, but it looks like it follows on the previous game which is cool and looks like it's hinting at a next…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The same as the previous 5 entries in the series. Simple and relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a fan of the series i leave a positive review to support the game although i would rate it 4/10 at best. The original trilogy was a very good one, this "The lost tales" thing feels differenet. Like a bad different. And even in this trilogy this third part feels the worst. The content feels cut, somehow the world feels smaller and the NPCs' quests feel dimmer and more shallow. It's like the developer puts less and less effort in the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another banger that ends on a cliffhanger for the next one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All of their other games were fun. This one was fun for awhile and then it just tortures you towards the end making you look everywhere for bat wings for a potion. WTF? Dude, what were you thinking? Did you want people to hate you?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short, hyperminimalist RPG where the main mechanics are hidden-objects (much easier than previous installments though) and resource management. It's almost entirely made of fetch quests, but somehow I find this series delightful and compelling. Cozy as hell.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Phoning it in - the game. Played through it in less than 4 hours and that with a good amount of grinding for money. Lots of filler busy work and the story feels really rushed. Not worth the asking price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this series. The Lost Tales aren't as long a game as the originals which is bittersweet, but the combination of searching for items and the story line are fun. Create more, please!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly this one is quite short but still full of engaging material please note to anyone - don't hoard your animal furs, teeth , horns, etc. Sell them all to keep yourself in cash
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another absolute banger from the team making these games. One of these days I'll have to sit down and play through them all in the intended story order, but I hope they make more of these. They're so fun! Can't believe Steam hid this from me for a couple weeks! I try to buy these as soon as they drop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom: The Lost Tales 3 is a bit more streamlined than the Hero of the Kingdom games, but for the most part, not in a good way. If you liked the other games, this is pretty much more of the same, and you'll probably like this one as well, but perhaps not as much. If you haven't played the other games, I wouldn't start here, I'd probably start with the first game, Hero of the Kingdom.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got it as a random gift, enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Something about finishing the tasks, the hidden object aspect and no real way to fail make it weirdly satisfying. Story is very "classic style fantasy", in a good way. Wish we could customize the character a bit, but it makes sense we can't since these games seem to be connected (as in, we're playing a specific dude with a specific backstory that's referenced in other games). It's pretty short (I'm sure I finished it in around 3…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a good game, back then. It still is, but it is not as fun as it used to be. Some games should be kept only in our fondest memories.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just like the previous chapter, it didn't do anything different and was just more of the same overly expensive filler fluff, but it seems like it's the final gaiden, so I'm at least looking forward to seeing if the next real game will be a massive step up in quality, like the previous one was
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And now we are completely caught on the past events and some of the character's background stories! Time to relax... Enjoy and perhaps tackle the game series once more! ^-^
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent addition to the series, roughly on par with the first two games. P.S. Shielded fish makes yet another appearance in this game and I still have no idea what it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The secret main character finally become real main character. Our main character is the only character that was present in every game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, fun, series of games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom: TLT 3 is a decent entry in the series. Nice to see more mobile NPCs and creature animations, as well as detailed character portraits. Some oddly paced fetch quests, such as the need to deliver groceries in order to get an item needed to rescue the prince. Good hidden object fun in the form of foraging. It is somewhat hard to follow continuity between entries as places and towns tend to be unnamed. Main quibble I have is that the music is quick to go into battle mode when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too short! And what about the guys trying to clear a road block? That should have led somewhere. There was also a guy who kept saying, "Don't bother me." He disappeared and I never saw him again. There were the bandits that were having some kind of meeting in the crystal cave or somewhere? What was that about? Never saw them again, either. Aside from all of that, I so find these games relaxing. This one just felt a bit incomplete with some loose threads. I'm hoping there's plans to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of Hero of the Kingdom which surprisingly made it too steam as on the last release they said they were focusing heavily on Mobile. Basically a casual hidden object game with some minor mental puzzle solving in the fact you have to watch your Strength levels aka your energy level that allows you to do stuff. Again a recommend as I enjoy the minor casual game from time to time, but with this one as with The lost tales 2 you should start from the beginning at The lost tales 1 if you want the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like reading a storybook to your kids. The gameplay hits every basic beat that makes an rpg fun. Albeit, just a ton of clicking. Its enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone adventure, it's better to play The Lost Tales 1 and 2 first. I don't know if the message in the end is allowed, so devs better look into that one. Other than that, follows the formula to the letter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I usually like this series though this one is unfortunately too short
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this series so much! I think i'll pull a marathon of the whole series
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bandit meeting in the Dark Forest, I'm on my way!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hated playing this, but I take solace in knowing that it's the last game I ever buy from this developer, as they're going to be using LLMs for all their future games, but also because this was terrible. I enjoyed their first two games and bought the rest thinking it'd just be more of the same. It wasn't. This game doesn't have any accessibility options, so if you have poor vision, you should give it a miss as the game doesn't give you anything for that. I have good vision and I found it hard…
