You must set out on a long journey through the four valleys and save the kingdom on the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked first two games in the series, this one is twice as long but unfortunately way much less fun. I appreciate certain changes in gameplay (buying directly from map, resting mechanism), nevertheless constant breaking of weapons and equipment, very high consumption of food, potions and strength/stamina together with the necessity to do hundreds of repetitive actions and poorly leveling combat skill means that for me playing this game felt more like a chore. Pity.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I loved the 1st and 2nd part of the series, I cannot recommend this one. It was never a dynamic game, but devs in this part made it incredibly repetitive. Half of the playing time it is literal grinding, interacting with anything, just to spawn some resources. Instead of having a fun time, Hero of the Kingdom III brought me frustration. Yes, I managed to get all achievements, but it was not worth the nerves.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its the worst of the original trilogy of these game by a good margin. This is primarily due to a change in the game design where instead of having set quantities of every resource on the map, everything respawns on timers. In addition the requirements to clear objectives is increased. The result is long sections of farming resources where you're just walkking in circles waiting for specific ones to respawn. In addition to being super tedious it also removes the satisfaction the first two…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will recommend it but the experience is not good. Definitely a great upgrade but too much useless clicking that make the game too bulky, where some fighting requirement/ingredients is too much. Thus, this make me to just finish the game to move on with life.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hum... It's OK. This is an adventure game with lite RPG elements. The Music is also OK. The story is basic, generic fantasy stuff. No bugs or crashes. Overall, entertaining. Hero of the Kingdom 3 has more meat on its bones—it’s bigger, and introduces a few new mechanics. At its core, it’s an exploration game where gathering resources is your main tool for solving quests. Sure, it can feel a bit grindy, but honestly, that might be more of a feature than a flaw. Why do some folks want to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I & II much better! 7hr to complete %100 Achievement. Low story, lots of grinding. Only (+) is camp system.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Hero of the Kingdom series were never complicated games and in fact the first two parts were probably as easy as gaming can get. It's pretty much a clicker, with some story and a very shallow ressoruces management part. But it was okayish if you just wanted to do something while getting rid of the hangover or just waste some time, while watching tv shows. Howevery, the third part is not enjoyable. The amount of "grinding" is getting ridiculous. While the story in 1&2 was pretty much a 90's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A massive downgrade from the first two games in every way possible. This is a grindfest unlike any other. + graphics and the charm of the 80s and 90s fantasy is still there + there are some quality of life improvements, you can now rest for longer, buy items straight from the map screen + i liked the twist at the end, pretty cool ending - underwhelming final sequence - this game feels like a massive, massive grind, i had to kill hundreds of enemies, craft dozens of weapons, tools and hundreds…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this one but I just can't bring myself to. First a preface: I purchased the whole trilogy for $1, well worth it, but it also spoiled me with the first two games. The first game was in my opinion the most charming of the set, as it was a humble beginnings, short but fun story, and a relatively fun couple hours. The second game took what made the first work and expanded on it, reeling in the tedium of some skills and adding new ones in their place. Developing a slightly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute grindfest compared to the first two
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another game where i wish steam had a neutral vote. This game was significantly worse than the first two, they went a very different direction here, and you will spend most of your time grinding the same thing over and over. The first two games felt like a point and click collecting game, it felt good to finally find that last egg, or the last crate. The first two also took around 3-4 hours to complete, whereas this one takes 8 hours. Mostly doing the same action until your skill reaches 100,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As an old Runescape player, this one called out to me the most! The third installment has less quests and more focus on skills/foraging/interacting with the environment. It was a blast to walk around multiple times and keep gathering/fishing/etc. I couldn't get enough of it! I maxed it all out and it made me feel a bit like I was back in the good ol' times... Just staying up late and fishing... While some of us aren't able to return to those wonderful times or feel that same feels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Opposite to the first two games this one is very, very grindy. This wouldn't be too bad, but I also managed to somehow grind the wrong things so now I have no hearts to grind food, no food to restore hearts and no money to buy food and the other gajillion things you need for every single fight. But I guess it doesn't matter since all I would do with these things is grind more fights to get at least some food and some money to start the next fight where I must hope for rewards that at least…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mindnumbingly tedious and frustratingly slow want to get the feel of playing a phone game where it constantly says "You've run out of energy". That's basically this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to the other two games in the trilogy, it is the worst! Even though it improves in some areas over the other two, it definitely is far worse in quite a few other regards. Worst of all (in my opinion) it feels very grindy and doesn't respect the player's time at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very casual point and click and gathering adventure game. Plays similarly as the prequels, with a "rags to hero" storyline, though unrelated to past story plots. Very easy to play. Unlike the prequels, many key resources are "recoverable" by grinding, so no getting stuck due to insufficient items required to complete quests. As in the first games, the gameplay consists on completing quests by gathering items and weapons. Simple and rustic yet decent and enjoyable music, story, and visuals.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It started great then turned into unnecessary grindfest with meh storyline, not even close to first game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game where you have to manage limited resources, click to do jobs or collect items and look for tiny stuff in the world. Relaxing background music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom III started off pretty good; they added some new things, like your skills leveling up to a 100 and a crafting screen for food, potions, and weapons. But about half way through, the game just grinds to a halt. Every enemy takes requires 5 or more potions to fight, so you're constantly harvesting ingredients and making potions. Your weapons break all the time and you have to craft more, it becomes a real chore. More isn't always better, and that's true in this case; it still…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →---- The worst story of the series. ---- The most grindy of the 3 games in the series. ++ With all the grind including respawning enemies and resources, this is the easiest game in the series to unlock 100% of the achievements. +++ It has the same easy play style as the previous 2, mostly, it lacks the hints from hotk2. ++++ This game also has the infinite gold loops we saw in the first 2 games. I think hotk2 is the best in the series, this is imo the worst in the series, however, it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neutral, definitely not as good as the first two. This game takes the formula of the first two, but then adds a grind that doubles the game length but with grinding instead of content. Spend hours walking in circles waiting for resources to respawn.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really can't recommend this game. The first two were really great and I loved playing them, but this game turned out to be very different. The items respawning and new skills made the entire game a HUGE grindfest. I found myself zoning out and just clicking stuff over and over. It was a struggle to finish the game. The story also took a huge dive too. While the first two games had simplistic stories, they were at least enjoyable. This game I found myself laughing at how ridiculous it was. All…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, no... The first 2 games are amazing with sweet stories and interesting areas to discover. This game is a grind-fest that halts you through out the game. You're too fast at progressing the game? Can't go further as you need higher skills in combat. Want to fight enemies, to get the combat stats up? (which are randomized btw...) Can't, as you need to have a lot of gold or leveled up your potion skills... It keeps going like this and would be a cool thing to add, but it's too much…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A huge departure from the chill gameplay of HotK I and II. Way too much boring grind to be able to level up and continue the story. Good to see that the developers returned back in form with HotK: The Lost Tales 1 and 2
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Third game of the series, sadly for now the worst oe in my opinion. This game introduces 2 things. Endlessly respawning ressources / monsters and Skills upgrading from lvl 1 to 100. The ressource aspect is fine, but the skill change is heartwrenching. Enemies require you to have x amount of fighting skill. To get that, you need to farm monsters and hope you are lucky to get a skill upgrade. To fight monsters however, you need to have sometimes up to 3 types of potions just for one fight.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really a chore to play. Unlike the other two prior Hero of the Kingdom games, this one has more RPG element. But it's a pretty terrible RPG. There are many crafting skills, all of them level locked, and most of them mandatory otherwise you simply don't have enough money to carry out the quests. There are numerous battles in this game, and most of them very strictly level locked, so you'll back track a lot trying to level up your fighting levels just to continue the quests. Most of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Briefly summarized: "you can't fight this bugger, you need the correct potion and skill level". I'm fed up with it, not finishing this game. The previous two were fun, this one isn't as much.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is terrible. you won't find here nothing interesting, the worst in the series. Grind, grind and grind and nothing more. Positive review only because of Ukrainian language, it is available to select in the menu.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked it but it was not like the first 2 games. The first two were basically hidden object games with RPG elements. This was an RPG with hidden object elements. And since RPG is not really their thing this game was stretched out for some tremendous grinding. fortunately the game was user friendly and they had implement many systems that made the grind bearable. there was a design element of the game that allowed you to access all the merchants all over the game world (provided you had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the first game in this series, it was fun and entertaining. This was a total grind and the story seemed daft, not in the good way. There are other negative reviews that discuss the grind and shortcomings in detail, high quality detail, I suggest you consider their words. For transparency, I got all three games in a bundle for $1, that is, $0.333 each. The first game is a total steal at that price. The second game, it's noticeably grindy, as well, but there is some fun to be had…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom II How did I end up finding and playing this nice chillout game? I was looking for something to play with my son. This seemed to be a nice adventure game, where you explore various locations, listen to people and their troubles, complete simple quests, go into a dungeon or two and eventually become a hero and save a kingdom. It seemed like playing a fairytale for kids. And it delivers exactly that. I think it is a nice game for kids and will write about it as…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 Boring story and gameplay... the previous titles were more fun in my memory...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the least of the three games in the Hero of the Kingdom main saga. It keeps the style and setting of the other two games but adds a variety of mechanics, including crafting (which is a little bland, but interesting) and respawning monsters and resources (which I did not like at all, though it pretty much needed to happen to support the crafting). It never caught my affections like the other two games, and ultimately feels like a general fantasy-lite title. There are some real…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Conceptually, I don't dislike the changes they made to the mechanics of the game. Personally, I prefer a set amount of each resource so finding them all is a challenge, but I can see how skills you level up through use and regenerating resources (so you never accidentally sell something you need and can't get it back) would appeal to many players. In practice, I found the amount of grinding needed to level your skills enough to progress very frustrating, and trying to get the awards was even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hate to give this a negative review because I love the first two games but all of the changes were for the worse. The grind at the end game is massive. Probably the worst new feature is the respawning resources and monsters. Now, instead of a fun little hunting game with a very forgiving resource management system you have an endless clicking simulator. Turned a relaxing, chill experience into an incredibly tiring slog. The worst part is that they'll either keep going in this vein or stop…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Previous games of this series were simple enjoyable clickers, with some hidden object elements giving a small challenge and a tiny amount of resource management at start, finished with a little grind for gold. This one is a mindless grindfest that ruins all the enjoyment. And don't even get me started on the &^%$ goldfish. Some people get several and I didn't get even one in a whole playthrough and quite a bit of grind after. Luck based achievement..and awfully done too
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a combination of crafting, hidden objects and RPG all together. The main story is that you need to defeat the enemies and rescue the princess. You meet a lot of people throughout the game that help you or need stuff from you. Visually the game is really beautiful and you can differentiate between all the different animals, flowers, mushrooms, etc. All of the resources and most of the enemies respawn throughout the game, so you will not run out of resources, however this means that you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom 3, follows the mechanics closely from the previous 2 games. In this game, however, fast travel has been altered a bit where each area of the game acts as a hub, rather than individual places you can visit quickly. To make up for this change, however, the shops are now accessible through the map screen, which I think is bloody brilliant to say the least. That cuts the travel time down a lot than in the previous two games. The only thing you need to watch in this game is money…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played 100% of Hero of the kingdom 1,2 and 3 - and I will play all of the rest and any new game in the series that will be released. though this one was a grind fest, the story and the visuals remained true to the series' form - charming, calming, something to look forward to after a day at work.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first two are better. This one feels really grindy and the story is silly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a good game, back then. It still is, but it is not as fun as it used to be. Some games should be kept only in our fondest memories.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I owned the series on Big Fish Games back in the day, bought it for support and nostalgia, but can't believe just how good the gameplay still is! This title certainly ages well, and plays just as well today, as it did years ago. Just finished this 3rd adventure. Great casual adventure, even more meaningful if you're exhausted after long days at work and desperately want to play something, but too tired to play all these modern games that tire you even more! So glad to see the series kept…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom III is a charming, casual RPG adventure that offers plenty of exploration and side quests, but may feel too light for players seeking deeper mechanics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This series harkens back to a simpler age of RPGs. It's a joy to play. It hasn't got the depth of modern games and that's okay for the purpose: a simple RPG. There is some grindiness toward the end of this one, where the only thing keeping you from finishing the game is resources. It artificially stretches the game out. Overall, the entire series is worth playing just to enjoy something akin to the origins of RPGs, which everyone now expects to be an entire planet-spanning reality. Something to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom III: Less bugs than a Bethesda release! Transport yourself to a medieval realm with Hero of the Kingdom 3, an isometric adventure that follows the journey of a young man seeking his place in the world under the guidance of his uncle. Controlled solely by the mouse and a single button, the gameplay is remarkably accessible. Every action, from combat to exploration, relies on your character's strength and the availability of specific items like swords and potions. While…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hero of the Kingdom 3 was the best in the series. This game is different from the rest of the series in that the resources regenerate. This gives you many ways to earn gold and beat the game. The map function is also more useful, allowing you to buy resources straight from the map. This game was longer than the rest and it is also more enjoyable than the rest. Definitely recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The third installation of the series is a bit of a letdown. The change in mechanics in terms of the camp cooking, potion making and smithing are ok in the start but soon turns into a tedious grind and the long animation just saps the fun out of it. The first two instalment also were short and generally straightforward but the new skill progression in 3 making it harder to complete while most parts leaving you continuously gathering materials to craft to win the endless fights where in the first…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The third game in the Hero of the Kingdom series, a unique take on point-and-click adventures with a heavy focus on inventory management and with some light RPG elements. After really enjoying the first 2 games, I skipped this one and jumped to The Lost Tales games, after reading that the third game plays differently in a bad way, and that The Lost Tales go back to what made the first 2 games so enjoyable. However, The Lost Tales games are shorter, and I wanted more, because I really enjoy this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too much grind for such a relaxing gameplay. If the game offered challenges, not just a pleasant resource management simulator - I would be fine, but it's just clicking monsters until the end. I was really hoping for some pixel hunting quests (there's only 2 and they are super minor) and riddles needed solving. Map is also pretty unconvenient. The evolving soundtrack is really good, though. But not enough for me to give the game positive rating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definetely the weakest part of the series so far. Theoretically resources refreshing themselves should aid the end-game grind for finding every single piece of something. I thought that this would be a great change for the game, hovewer it turned out that it made the whole game and it's system significantly more grindy (or in simpler words, just boring) Fast travel can only be done among main hubs but every shop can be accesed from the map view which makes actual traveling tedious (and that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The end grinding was so bad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Management summary: i unfortunately cannot recommend this because it's such a grindy slog. Years after playing parts 1 and 2, i recently re-played them and the Lost Tales part 1 and enjoyed them all thoroughly, then _finally_ bought part 3. The good: - The streamlining of the camping and food caught me off guard but i prefer it over the older system. They've combine all food types into a generic "food" item, camping can now be done anywhere, and any amount of food can be eaten to gain energy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Holy crap... this is by far the worst of the three. Especially given that I gave the first two games a positive review... I cannot in good conscience do that with the third. This game doesn't have any accessibility options, so if you have poor vision, you should give it a miss as the game doesn't give you anything for that. I have good vision and I found it hard to see a lot of things. Money becomes a major issue in this game, and while there is a way to repeatedly cycle items through vendors…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unless you just really want to complete this entire series of games, I would just skip this one. The charm of the previous games was a simple story-driven point and click RPG that was just good enough to waste some time on to complete. They did improve some systems in this one ,but the story is just the lowest effort trash I think I have ever played. I mean it is really bad. On top of that they have this RNG durability mechanic that leads to some really over the top breaking of equipment, that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Silly story and corny dialogue and significantly more grindy than the previous games in the series (you will spend a lot of time cooking and crafting potions since many encounters, especially late game, require a lot of strength and pots), but a typical HotK installment in all the good ways.
