Finished up Gothic 3, which leaves me with that kind of empty feeling that comes after finishing a big open world style game. Fun series though, jank as all hell, but kind of gave me that same pleasant feeling as Morrowind & Oblivion.

We have a schedule! Gothic 3 might be shorter then usual because I want to play my (probably bad) Vampire game! Further I'm partying on Thursday so rogue trading is a day late!

Just beat the Gothic 1 Remake as a Glass Cannon Mage! 🧙‍♂️💥 The final part was really frustrating but man... what a game Solid 8.5/10 Looking forward to Gothic 2 Remake. More importantly a Gothic 3 Remake 👀 #GothicRemake #GOTHIC #RPG #Gaming

I really tried to give Gothic 3 another shot btw. But nah, that entire opening and just the beginning of the game is so soul crushing that I can't handle it right now. Gonna try to play some Elex and see how long I will stick around for it.

Gothic 3 will always have a special place in my heart. I believe it was the last boxed PC game I ever bought. That game is great in the way it kicks your ass at first and slowly things tilt in your favor.

I was thinking that now we have Gothic 1 and 2 on Switch I hope we get the third, then I remember that game is still practically unplayable in 2023 and requires a lot of fan patches just to play like a game, and idk if they'll view making Gothic 3 a playable game worth it

Gothic 3 was an abomination of a game compared to 1 and 2 - but the soundtrack slaps. Gorgeous original orchestral arrangements m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha4z...

I remember when Gothic 3 was released a magazine I read at the time was postponing their final score until the first major round of patches where done. It was fair but I understand that you cannot do this for every game and it still only captures the state of the game at review time.

I only played Gothic 3. In that game, melee is really good against humanoid because you can stun locked them and really bad against monster and animal because they will stun locked you. And the game is over once you gain magic regen.

1/2 Gothic 3 was a flawed game, but the neutral thing let you completely ignore orc vs human conflict and remove the root causes (gods of light and darkness using mortal races as proxies).

I stand by my belief that like 90% of video game remakes are evil on principle, but if this eventually leads to a Gothic 3 remake, then everything is justified. The game was never fully completed. It barely even holds together. It's the one case where a remake is actually appropriate.

Playing Oblivion makes me appreciate even marginal improvements Skyrim made. This is for a bow and stealth sorta setup. Also includes enemy reactions which arent great in Skyrim, but are even worse in Oblivion. Interesting that Gothic 3's bow combat still hasnt been matched in any game I've seen.

Fun fact: I had the choice between picking Oblivion or the infamously terrible Gothic 3 when I was a kid. I chose the latter because I had an irrational dislike of first person games back in the day, and so ended up playing a game so broken I only made it past the starting area once.

Was feeling super nostalgic, so I started playing an old favorite. Gothic 3. Janky as all hell, but I love the reputation system and game mechanics. The world feels a lot more fun to mess with than a lot of AAA titles these days. That’s for sure. 🎮 #gaming #RPG #Gothic3

Back in the day, played Gothic 3 on an old pc. G3 had amazing memory leak problems that needed > 12!!!! large patches to fix every issue. We're talking blue screen every 15-20 min. At some point I thought, time to upgrade my 4+yo pc. New one comes in, I fire up G3. 10min later, I finish the game.

    29. Gothic 3 I hear a lot of praise for this series, but this is another game where I have no idea how it got into my library. Haven't touched it because obviously I'd want to play the first two before it.

I need to get around to Elex 2 so I haven't ranked it though it probably fits with the other 2 Gothic games. In an alternate world, PB is given more time with Gothic 3 - probably another year and maybe it becomes a definitive open world game with time to refine the design as well as hammer bugs

I feel like Gothic 3 might be the "close enough" game in some ways, because it's generally a lot bigger and more open in a way that allows you to get lost and roam around. But with Gothic 1 and 2 it's like inverted TES. Very compact world that needs you to engage with the main quest.

I played a bit Gothic 1 and 2 and kind of liked them, so I bought Gothic 3 and got repeatedly killed in the opening scene of the game I know a lot of people like such masochistic game experiences because for them it's all about competing with other gamers, but I'm too old and busy for this bullshit

I'm curious what Gothic 3 is going to look like. That game was unplayable without community patches. It took players months and years to reconstruct what the game was supposed to be from code snippets. There were unfinished questlines and the intro didn't even have voice acting

Something that I wish was replicated from Gothic 3 was their reputation system. The game encouraged you not to pick sides, working for both factions gives the best result. Even if you’re picking a side, getting a faction to trust you means taking them down is much easier. 🎮 #gaming #RPG #Gothic3

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Gothic 3 hold one of the oldest memories of such type of game setting for me. Quite vividly too, thanks for their soundtrack. Ah, the soundtrack. Music truly do connects throughout Time.

Yeah, Gothic 3 was a bummer. It started rough, and even with a ton of patching, it was STILL in a state where the wolves would stunlock you to death, and then the community patch, and now THAT STILL HAPPENS and just- it was such a nearly-great game. I have fun memories of exploring the big mine.
