Second, just having your main character be a black dude with a huge afro who says "Ah yeah" a lot... isn't funny or clever. I'm not even sure if it technically qualifies as a joke. Third, the premise makes no sense. Funk fans don't hate rap or pop music. (It makes sense in the "Frederic" games that the curmudgeonly classical pianist would detest pop. Funk fans, by contrast, tend to have more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Something you should know before buying this game, this game is not a traditional platformer in the sense that you press forward on controls and he goes forward..... there is no forward control, or any directional control for that matter, forward movement is automatic and non-stop, the only two controls are jump and attack. I don't know why they've chosen to take this approach, and I personally would have prefered a more traditional platformer.... but it doesn't hinder the gameplay too much,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: Funk of Titans is a runner game with focus on silly (funky) visual style. Don't expect classic platformer gameplay because you will not be taking care of movement - all you can do is jumping and slashing with your weapon, in 45 levels (including QTE bossfights). Main focus of the developers went to the visuals and to the whole style the game is presented. All sillyness and jokes aside, they made a good job considering the price of the game. It looks good for a cheap indie game - good…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When reviewing games, you’re expected to do the actual playing part in your free time, rather than during working hours. Also, you typically get paid based on the length of the review rather than the game. I earned just as much for reviewing Funk Of Titans as I did Atelier Rorona Plus.
unlabelledView post →Best runner game i ever played , hands down. Not to difficult, more on casual side but super addictive and fun anyways. I would recommend gamepad for it, it's just more natural. Great artstyle, with touch of humor on the side, music gets tedious after a while, but nothing that can't be fixed with your own music in the background (not in game option). I got it cheap, and for 1,5 E it's a steal. If you like runner games this is a must buy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funk of Titans is an auto runner game from 2015 probably best suited for mobile phones, the game doesn’t really have a story and just focuses on you hitting x or a (Xbox controller) to get through each level. I played for around about an hour, defeated the first world and came off to write this review. I’ll go through what I enjoyed first and then move on to the dark side of the funk. The game is simple, just hit x and a at certain times to get through each level, it doesn’t require much…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Auto-runner in the vein of Bit.Trip Runner with a nice blaxploitation veneer. Gameplay is decent, story is pretty silly (and expectedly so), level design is good, soundtrack is maybe a bit less funky than one would have hoped for. (The soundtrack for De Blob is pretty funky, just to mention one.) The bosses are pretty boring, but fortunately there aren't too many of them, so you'll be spending most of your time in the levels, which are fine and — as mentioned — pretty well designed. My main…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a runner game, this is actually pretty good. The levels have a nice flow to the them, the game more often works with you than against you, and it's not too long so as to feel stretched out but not too short such that ideas feel underdeveloped, and the game has enough distinct elements to it that the levels don't feel repetitive. Adding to that is the fact that this game looks gorgeous, especially for the price point. A strong cartoony aesthetic with a pretty large variety of different…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Funk of Titans" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The game is yet another of several hundred, if not thousands of garbage low effort endless runners plaguing Steam. There's a couple of minigames tacked on but the core theme is just badly done autorunning. There's a cartoony "Ancient Greece meets jive" comedy/meme theme that didn't help this mobile app attain popularity on the mobile app stores, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →" Funk of Titans is an enjoyable experience, however, its focus on mobile game design will prove an odd fit for most PC gamers. " Full review here: http://www.tech-gaming.com/funk-of-titans-pc-review/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't really recommend, unfortunately. It's an okay autorunner if you don't really want to think much, but nothing really interesting enters the mix. At least the main game isn't too repetitive until the end (which isn't too far off, the game is very short). Unfortunately the same can't be said of the minigames, which you're forced to do to proceed. At least the music's funky fresh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has da funk. What the heck else do ya need?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played free phone auto runners that felt more fluid and fun than this piece of garbage. Play bit trip runner instead if you're looking for an auto runner.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funk of Titans is a good running game, intuitive and fun! Simple gameplay, jump, destroy, scale all with two buttons, also bosses are great fun to put down! It is not very long-lived, it comes to 4/5 hours, but it can have lots of fun, I would recommend. (Below is the Italian full review) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6SsSK1LIlA Come Perseo, figlio di Zeus e protettore della Funk. Il vostro compito è quello di distruggere: rap, pop, rock e malvagi Titani musicali. Una sola musica può…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There’s a general lack of care shown here for what is already a questionable game, and that doesn't serve the PC port well. No prominent mention is made that the game is a dressed up endless runner, and preview videos are presented so as to suggest that Funk of Titans is a normal platformer. As well, the developers haven’t bothered to enter the simple line of code that makes the mouse cursor vanish while the game itself is in motion. There’s nothing wrong with repurposing a mobile game in an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In Funk of Titans, players control Perseus, a hero tasked with saving the world of the Funk by defeating the Titans of Pop, Rock, and Rap. The gameplay consists of platforming and puzzle-solving, with players navigating through levels and collecting pickups while avoiding obstacles and enemies. One of the standout features of Funk of Titans is its colorful and vibrant art style, which is inspired by Greek mythology and 1980s pop culture. The game's 2D environments and characters are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another awful mobile indie autorunner with a horrible user interface. The whole Steam page description does very little to clue you in on what it actually is. Let's try to break it down Over 40 levels That must be so hard when all of the levels are basically the same. Groovy platforming WHAT PLATFORMING WHEN IT PLAYS ITSELF!? Funk-Fu, ancient Greece, gods and demigods Fight to restore the funk by defeating Pop, Rock and Rap Ride your pimped-out Pegaus Shut up. These aren't features!…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funk of Titans, developed by A Crowd of Monsters and published by MG Publishing, is a side-scrolling runner that leans heavily on its eccentric concept, blending Greek mythology with a stylized celebration of music culture. It presents itself with a bold sense of personality, framing its action around a surreal conflict between musical genres, but while its premise is undeniably distinctive, the underlying gameplay reveals a more limited and uneven experience. The game places players in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is so funking funk (jK) the game is cool i beat the game in like 5 hours but took me another 5 hours to finish all the achievements (especially the pegasus level passing 500m)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34564470-The-Awesome-Duo/] The Awesome Duo Curator A 2 button runner game, with some quick-time events using your arrow keys/d-pad for boss battles. The story is nonsense and creates strife within the music scene that simply doesn't exist. Gameplay is repetitive and immeasurably boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The funkiest, freshest game made yet. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →keegan why did you buy me this game you got drunk off of bud light why would you do this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A blaxploitation-movie styled runner game. Mechanics are okay (so-far nothing super punishing, but I've only been through the first world). It also has some QTE-styled boss fights, which at least look kinda cool/silly, though are very simple (and the mini-boss fight is literally the same level every time, and that's not good). It's basically just a game to play a level or two at a time, basically just like a mobile game. I rate it Okay out of a possible 100, I wouldn't pay full price for it,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The blaxplotation its infame, the stereotypes overflowig diminish what could have been a fun experience. I ignored most of them but the ending just gives the last slap and its just plain disgusting. The game is a casual game, get it on a heavily discounted sale, fiish it whole them forget it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad port to PC. Check out our review here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtOsxnE_5Bw
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+Nice art style +Buy new weapons/armor with "vinyl". -No direction / instructions. I restarted the game multiple times and troubleshooted my controller for five minutes only to realize that the constant forward motion was intentional -Uninteresting levels / silly & repetitive bonus levels -Had no desire to come back to it after I was done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K2kzG1BL7g
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute platformer, fun to play easy to learn.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With graphics that would look at home on a PS2 and gameplay that makes Paw Patrol: On a Roll look sophisticated, this is definitely one to skip. Seriously, if you're accustomed to pushing more than one button more often than once every 2 seconds, you're overqualified for this game. The premise makes no sense, there are lots of occasions where it looks like the devs just slapped in leftover assets to round out the game world, and in a game with the faintest hint of a mythological bent they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is actually a pretty good runner / action game that I'm surprised doesn't have more positive reviews.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Where the funking funk is the FUNK? Two thumbs WAAAAAY DOWN. Boring phone game with no actual funk music. Not worth unless free. Arguable even if free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a little torn by this game, On one hand, it's a decent "Runner" in the sense that if you don't know many Runner games it might be a good one to start. It's modestly challenging but you'll breeze through and 100% it quickly. None of the achievements require a lot of investment into playing the game. On the other... it's a decent "Runner" if you haven't played any other runner that's far better. For $6.99 USD it's really not a difficult selling point. But that's not exactly what…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funk of Titans is a pretty simplistic game. Perseus(Our afro'd, Funkified son of Zeus) has to defeat even musical titans trying to remove Funk from the holy genres. You do this by auto-running and using clunky jumps and attacks. Each stage has a 'pegasus'(which is a hobby horse with rocket boosters attacked to the bottom) you can locate, which lets you play a flappy-bird-esque minigame for more 'Vinyls'(the games equivalent of gold coins). It's not really bad, but there's nothing special or…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Platformer Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Tabletlike user interface. Low quality 3d assets Felt like Unity Engine. Nauseating camera that keeps swaying. Repetitive use of sound effects. Annoying protagonist.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty ok game even if this is obviously mobile game port.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting, unique, different. If you enjoy comedy, platformers, or off-the-wall rpg, this game will suit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I liked this game but there a few things to know before you buy it: It's a runner, ie your character is constantly running and the 2 actions available are jump and slash. The game is very easy and can be suitable for kids. There is indeed funk music in it. As a funk connoisseur I liked the soundtrack, easy-listenning but very decent. There are also some cons: Technically, it seems to be a PS4 port that is locked at 30fps. The boss levels are QTE that are all identical and very easy to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got a little more than 5 minutes of funk in Not overpowered by the funk or a big groovy funker No funky robots but only on the third level Aint it funky now? Gotta have that funk! Will take you down to funky town. Silly & mind-numbing Pop, Rock & Rap levels included *facepalm*
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun, it has the right amount of content if you just want to play it for 15-20 minutes in the afternoon and have some fun with it. It has nice visuals, and the game mechanics (with 2 or 3 very little exceptions) are pretty well made and satisfying. Also the item shop provides a little depth into it although not that much. The only real problem I saw with the game is that is a bit short - I beat it in about 2 and a half hours without putting much effort in doing so.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this little auto runner game. Not a type of game I have played before but nice and relaxing. I played it over a few days and my playtime represents completing the game with 100% achievements. There were enough new dynamics to avoid feeling repitive every few levels. An overall good experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just as a warning: this is a runner, not a platformer. It's actually a pretty nice runner, but a runner nonetheless, and you won't find this information by reading the game's description (that actually gives you the idea that this is a traditional platformer, which it's not). Buy it if you find it heavily discounted. Otherwise just go play some free runners on your phone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Caught this on sale for like 2 bucks, watched the trailer and picked it up. If youre too stupid to watch the traile "Funk of Titans" is a "runner" type game with an absurd Funk themed version of ancient Greece. I had fun with it, and likely would have had just as much ful at the regular price. controls were smooth, controller support was good, and generally just fun and easy to pick up like a good casual game should be with a decent amount of rather silly unlockables. Totally worth my money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funkier than Borderlands 4
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a music game with boring music. They used generic, licensable music and it's obvious. First game I've actually hidden and meant it... Sorry Hun Pop, I wont do that to you again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you need a new Donkey Kong Country, but also need to let the beat... drrrrrop? does this blacksploitation platformer have the cowbell for you. Good Times will be had, your lip will curl with the funky funky monster sounds getting your neck groove on. Well worth the 10-15 hours to 100%
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 I found this game years ago while looking for PS Vita games. Somehow it combines several genres I HATE…and creates something I enjoyed! 🤣 Its an autorunner, set with greek mythology combined with music themes. Voice actor sounds like Jack Black, though I dont believe it is. The mid bosses are quick-time-events, the bosses are DDR style quick time events. The bonus stages are Flappy Bird-esque in nature. The levels, secrets and bonuses were fun. Overall was a fun, creative jaunt.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Holy! Sh^% ! This is a great game!! WOW! and as of this review 69 Cents! what???? The Graphics, the controls, the characters all combine for one fun Arcade game. I can't believe this isnt being sold for $19.99 . WOW!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute runner game with a funk and greek pantheon theme. Seems like it was a mobile game initially as it would be well poised for tablets. Get it if you're a fan of the genre
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really fun game. At first play, I was like, meh, he never stops moving, that's weak. But as I played it more, I started to enjoy it. I like the simple, two button controls, slash and jump. You can level up, buy upgrades, and replay levels. I definitely recommend this game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did come very close to giving this game a thumbs down, if only on the basis that the storefront (in fact, all the storefronts, also on Android, Xbox, PS4) is deliberately misleading about what Funk of Titans actually is. The short and narrow of the issue: if you're looking for a traditional 2.5D platformer that lets you explore levels, this isn't it. Funk of Titans is an autorunner, of the same ilk as games like Bit.Trip Runner and Rayman Jungle Run. That means that your character follows a…
