positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome little arcade inspired game. It's super cheap and great for a few hours of fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Blubb! Blubb! Blubb!" These sounds will follow you into your dreams after you've played Lightfish too much ... I was looking forward to a Qix clone which is placed in the deep sea ocean environment. This game is in arcade style and graphics and music fits together perfectly. They're unique and I liked the soundtrack composed by James Dean. But this Blubb sound making me dumb. I'm not sure if it causes the occurring game crashes. Another gap are the imprecise controls. It can happen easily…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lightfish is a game that seems to be loosely based on the classic volfied. Gameplay revolves around cutting the screen which sounds and is simple in essence. It's easy to learn hard to master with the achievements being well suited and providing a challenge for replay value. I personally burned through this quite quickly but did enjoy the experience. It's not a game that's going to last you a long time but it is fun and entertaining.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fast paced, artistically well realized, and a wonderful remake of a game (Qix - If you've ever play it). Good game! It's got a great soundtrack and amazing design. Game: 7.0/10 Graphic: 7.5/10 100% Achievement : Easy | Medium | Hard | Very Hard
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little disapointed. unfortunately some of the game mechanics are very flawed. 1st the scoring system exspects you to rush the levels and seems as if it would just reward your lucky runs. 2nd ENERMIES RESPAWN! WHY??? surely a big part of this type of game is making traps in the map to remove enemies to make the rest of the level easier to capture. Again this seems to promote a rushed approach rather than the strategic play this type of game should have. Oh and also the walls that kill you?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is exactly almost 100% identical to Fortix . Cut the lines on a board making sure while doing so , you are not impeded by other fishes. Just the theme is changed with fishes and all from kingdoms , and it is as short as was the fortix. But yeah, I have no complaint whatsoever. I just like such simplicity and obsolete games in this era of Ultra 3 dimensionality.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Qix got old and settled down ages ago but when it was in a midlife crisis at one point it went out to the bar and had skeezy drunken sex with Lumines and Lightfish was the baby. If you really want Qix-alike gameplay on Steam, go with Fortix 2 first, but after you become the WORLD CHAMPION ON THE FORTIX 2 LEADERBOARDS this is a solid second place and I honestly only give it guff because of the extensive content the other title has by comparison. Lightfish is pretty cool.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Qix in new clothes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply fun and challenging game. If you have nothing to do, you should pay attention to this game for a moment. Worth your time, trust me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In a word, this game is lacklustre. Although I can't say it's a terrible game, I certainly can't say that this is a good game either. I felt that it was visually overstimulating, with too many flashy graphics making it difficult to see everything that's going on. Basically it's full of substanceless flashy graphics which actually hinder gameplay instead of enhancing it. It's quite a short game and it's by no means a challenge. The few instructions that exist in the game are poorly written (or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →QIX with marine life. Never spent much time with QIX back in the day but I liked this. Simple yet vibrant and well animated. Challenging but not overwhelming.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Want to make some videos for my itchfunding game first, but my SRD series will be returning with a look at the Double Twelve (DD12) SRD from Lightfish Games! This is an engine that spins off of the CC version of 5E (5.1 SRD) and was used by Lightfish for their Farsight scifi that came out in 2023.
unlabelledView post →Fun little time waster. Like Tron, but not Tron. There are fish squid and crabs. Got it in a bundle ages ago and in a bundle 8/10. Not full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lightfish starts out as a pretty fun and basic puzzle game but quickly devolves into a confusing, chaotic mess. In later levels the screen becomes cluttered with obstacles and enemies, making it difficult to focus on a winning strategy. Since there are certain enemies that are completely unpredictable it is simply easier to brute force your way through a level by being cautious rather than cunning. Major grievances include: poor enemy spawning, sometimes an enemy will spawn right on top of you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun this game is! I got it in a bundle not expecting to ever play it(wasn't what I bought the bundle for), but wow! Its a lot of fun! Gameplay is similiar to Fortix, except with sea creatures. I'd play through it again.7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Follow [url=https://steamcommunity.com/groups/gamesyouabsolutelymusthave]Games You Absolutely Must Have for more reviews! Submerge into the ocean! Fun to play fast paced arcade game Pros: Great underwater concept. Good use of neon colors. Addictive soundtrack and good sound effects. Great value. It's cheap! Cons: Quite easy. 100% should take around 1 or 2hrs The design of the menu is awful. Note: The gameplay is similar to Fortix, personally I preffer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a competent Qix clone with aesthetically pleasing presentation. It has native controller support. It's cheap. It's on Steam. There is nothing to object to here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LightFish is a pleasant clone of Qix/Fortix-styled games, where you attempt to claim sectors of a map by drawing lines to fill in areas while enemies flit about attempting to destroy the line trailing behind your character, which in this case is a glowing fish. Claim a certain amount of territory, and you clear the map and move on to the next one. LightFish is pretty basic - and maybe a bit shallow - but it works well enough: the controls are responsive, and the graphics and music are quite…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun simple game for a short time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought it was nice to come across this game, a nice classic style of game. It’s a great little mini game for when you are bored and aren’t looking to get into any games that big. The graphics are pretty nice and although it isn’t that long of a game, it’s still a good time waster.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lightfish is a low effort ripoff of the old game QIX. This doesn't add anything to the original QIX game and you can play that for free in a web browser. This mess doesn't even have working fullscreen but they want you to pay them $7.50 because they ripped off someone elses game that you can play for free. That pretty much sums up the state of gaming today.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lightfish. It's Qix, but dressed up in fancy vector-looking graphics and set in a computerized looking acquatic environment. As such the game doesn't have the abstract power of the Qix presentation, but the mechanics are exactly the same and so you'll find the same sense of enjoyment as the venerable old arcade game. The new updates involve some different types of opponents which exhibit different behaviors (one will explode near you, another will seek you out when you draw your lines, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like Qix, you'll love this game. It's just a reskin of Qix.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun Quix type game. 45 levels, 3 levels of difficulty. Took about 90 min on normal. Good achievements. Time trial mode too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dude. It's Qix with a new coat of paint. I dig it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great JezzBall replacement for old folks like me who miss that game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty decent. It's essentially the arcade game Qix. If you haven't played the original, you've likely played a port or flash game clone with similar gameplay before. What differentiates this one is that is has a lot of polish, and new gameplay mechanics to keep it interesting. At the same time, I don't know if the price-point is for everybody. If you're really into arcadey games, it's probably worth 5 dollars, otherwise, wait for a sale. It frequently goes on sale for $0.99, even…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can be fast enough to completely beat the game 100%/All Achievements and get your money back. That's short.. Old concept with new graphic, It could be such a good, diverse and fun game but there are several features missing like a map editor, online modes, highscores or customization. It's not bad it's just too short, because after you've completed the achievement, there's nothing else to do Would recommend but for the money you can get better games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was developed with mobile in mind, the lack of options confirms it. Even at audio of 1% set in Windows, the audio is too loud and you either mute everything or nothing instead of having separate options for sound and music. Every time I launch the game, it is launched "for the first time" and needs to complete setup... The tips regarding keybinds are hard-coded to show xbox controller first, keyboard a few seconds later and the keys can't be changed. The same hard-coded output is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple, short game. It's kind of a simple version of Fortix 1&2, witch are better games. But its good for killing time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stupid flash game that takes 2 hours to 100%. It's like Fortix, except more easy, more dumb, and not a piece of ♥♥♥♥. 2/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Qix, with more and faster baddies, a neon undersea theme, and a soundtrack that's okay but gets repetitive really damn quickly. Two modes: Adventure (normal, cover 75%) and Time Trial. Eh.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plays like Fortix. You're a fish who starts at the edge of a rectangular map and swims in straight lines to clear off sections of the map until about 75%, after which you're scored and given 1-3 stars. You increase your score by capturing (destroying) enemies and powerups within your rectangles, clearing off larger sections of the map with one move, finishing the level more quickly and by playing on hard difficulty where enemies are faster and respawn (recommended for a challenge and high…

unlabelledView post →While the game is a little bit easy. It is non the less probably the best in the genre on steam. It's visually pleasing and it got plenty of enemies as well as varying levels and obstacles. I highly recommend this and maybe one day we get a better game with this playstyle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ Price: The game offers a time trial mode and 45 stages for 5 EUR, that's a pretty good deal. - Level variety: More enemies get introduced pretty fast (as well as a couple new blocks), but their mechanics are pretty limited (you usually get a larger/faster enemy) and the way the difficulty increases is by making everything a lot more cluttered. - Score system: To get 3/3 stars you have to rush through the level, which will require lucky spawns; The system just doesn't feel thought out too…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →reminds me of Qix from the days of the arcades...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Working great on Steamplay, so for those Linux folks that are looking at this its a green light. Was a pretty fun simple game to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Morlan's shorts: It's a fine specimen of the [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qix]"Qix" gameplay where you have to "claim" as much of the playfield as possible by fencing it off and avoiding the baddies. Nicely animated/ flowing graphics, soothing and not too intrusive music, smooth gameplay.. It's casual fun for a few hours of relaxed gameplay.. Don't waste more time reading lengthy reviews.. time is of the essence!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked this game, re-played it from time to time for years. Wanted to show it to a friend recently... discovered it no longer runs on modern Mac OS.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's QIX. If you like Qix, you will like this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Possibly the best Qix clone out there. Actually, I'd never heard of any Qix clones, 'til Lightfish, which is kind of surprising when you consider how long Qix has existed... Good graphics (if you like jellyfish-like critters, anyways), good music, seems to be mostly fair as far as the bounces go. If, like me, you're old enough to remember and liked the original back when it was in arcades, this should scratch an itch you probably didn't realize you had.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With no method to restart a level after losing first life for bad starts, aside from doing the main menu>chapter select>move to level>select level dance. Off to a great start.... RNG plays a minor part with the random rebounders, sometimes you can bisect a map from the start, other times they literally perform a hook turn without rebounding when you're blitzing a level too fast. As for scoring, just play hard - makes it a lot easier to get 3 stars funnily enough due to an increased end of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A generic take on a very old formula. The game concept itself is OK for casual gaming if you've never seen it before....but its been done, exactly like this, countless times already. PROS: -Simple graphics -Basic enemy types CONS: -Gameplay has been done many times already and this game presents literally nothing new or different. Gets boring very fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is pretty simple much like a flash game. The concept of the game is fine but there's nothing special about it. The lack of a restart level button frustrated me completely to the point that I couldn't stand playing it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very puzzle oriented. Frustrating, needs you to think ahead in a way that irritates a body. Maybe if I wasn't already frustrated I'd like it more. But it's irritating when a starfish moves faster than a real fish. >.< Great for puzzley folks, I suppose, bad for impatient folks.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lightfish copies in the style of classic arcade game as you try to slice and contain an area of enemies. This is very much an arcade game clone, and you may well have played something like it before. You control an entity and try to move it around the map, slicing it up and "locking off" certain areas. Lock enough off to complete the level. The gameplay progression in this game is good. The enemies become progressively harder, and this is aided by certain environment "blocks". There are 5…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great casual game. It was never too much for me to keep up with like what happens in games like Geometry Wars sometimes. I really enjoyed the game, never played anything quite like it. Starts to get intense towards the end, so many creatures the amount of space you can section off gets smaller and smaller every level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun Qix Clone! Definitely easier than Fortrix.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoyed either of the Fortix titles, or other games in the vein of the classic Qix, Lightfish brings more of this type of gameplay, and adds a visual style that is reminiscient of games like flOw. There are some interesting enemy types and obstacles that set this title slightly apart from its brethren. Fire walls are obstacles that you have to maneuver around. Stray too close and you're crispy-fried. Ice walls slow your movement, but if you can break your way through them, they fall…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've ever played Qix or Volfied, you'll feel right at home with Lightfish — it's a clean, polished take on the classic formula of cutting up a map while dodging enemies, dressed up in a slick aquatic aesthetic with a solid soundtrack. The campaign runs about two to three hours and introduces new enemy types and hazards at a decent pace, though the scoring system pushes you to rush rather than play strategically, which can feel at odds with the risk-reward gameplay the genre does best. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played games like this, like the Fortix series, but not quite sure what the genre is called. In this game you are a fish and you must start from the perimeter and slowly make boxes without touching any of the sea life and eventually box up enough of the level that you can claim it yours and end the level. The sea life gets more difficult and more random on how it moves. Some move in the same direction constantly and bounce off walls as you would expect them too, like playing pool, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I probably wouldn't say highly addictive, but it's alright.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love it! Very calming, good music, impressive game design, and I can return to play in small sessions. It reminds me of the old Arcade game "QIX."
