30 of 30 · most liked firstDo I like the story and the concept of the game? Yes. Can I recommend it? No. It isn't a bad game, but it lacks optimization. The animations are not smooth. It's literally: "pig hit wolf, wolf, hit pig" on repeat. Your units need to walk from the town to the battle lines. It may work in theory, but in practice it makes you frustrated. "Oh I have to time my positioning too? Lovely." (Please, note the sarcasm.) I understand that the game's inspiration was the traditional fairytale, but I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Expected to get something similar to poor's PvZ game, instead got unbalanced annoyingly hard game. Hand drawn assets are good, everything else is not, even for indie game. Not recommended. Better wait for sale and get PvZ for 1-2 bucks. Played on Windows 7, as Linux user I was unable to utilize new steam utility - Proton based Steam Play, game failed to run properly (tho I installed everything I could including codecs, flash, adobe aero, full pack of DX, vc++ and .NET), also it never worked…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slow and imbalanced. Wolf howling sound over and over.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it was ok i suppose, but i felt plants vs zombies was better. when you use a consumable on this game they move forward and eventually disappear. its hard building up a defense as it is let alone having my consumed points just walk away from defending their homes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little tower defence game with plenty of characters to use. Different skills and units to fight depending on your situation and enemy thrown at you. You must defend your home at all costs from the wolves. An enjoyable pick up and play for anyone especially at the price. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUpRwoBXVTA
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The premise is straightforward, based on the Three Little Pigs tale. Your mission is to assist pigs in defending their homes from an army of wolves. This is accomplished by clicking on a unit and directing it along one of three paths. Of course, you can also place barriers to delay the enemy's movement and give yourself valuable time to generate money. Everything you want to place requires hammers, the game's currency. You gain one every few seconds, so you will always have some. If you want…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a question for you: Have you ever played Plants vs Zombies? No? Buy this: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3590/Plants_vs_Zombies_GOTY_Edition/ Yes? Play it again, it's a better use of your time. --- Bacon Tales has a vague framework of potential to be fun, but all of it borrowed from Plants vs Zombies. Unfortunately it just doesn't even know what to do to live up to that potential. With only 9 short levels you have just enough time to realize how poorly balanced it is, how…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very nice game for it's price. basically, it's a tower defense game, or rather a line defense. You need to defend the pigs' village from the attack of the wolves. Barriers remain immobile and you can select the right place to deploy them. The units ALWAYS appear from the village and move forward without stopping. The first two levels are a bit slow, like a tutorial, but from the third level new enemies and bosses drastically change game mechanics, forcing player to think…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game!!!! I love TD games and this awsome!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Bacon Tales - Between Pigs and Wolves" is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Plants vs. Zombies (Copyright Popcap Games/EA, 2009). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. At this stage no legal action has been taken by Popcap Games/EA against the "developer" here, but it's never off the table, as previous copyright law cases have…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the most game of all time! I have to admit, I have spent a countless 68 minutes playing and I can't recommend it enough!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bacon Tales – Between Pigs and Wolves is a 2D lane-based tower defense strategy game developed and published by Uruca Game Studio that reimagines a familiar fairy-tale conflict into a lighthearted but tactical survival challenge. Drawing inspiration from the classic story of pigs versus wolves, the game frames its action around defending a vulnerable village from relentless assaults, using a blend of card-driven unit deployment, resource management, and wave control. From the start, it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In 2010 this would have been free on addicting games, instead we get a cash grab plants vs zombie clone with an "engaging story" of 20 total lines of dialog and sounds that play way too loud even with the volume on the lowest level. My gpu pushed 4k fps out of the game and I still have artifacting in a slideshow transition cut scene. The strategy is sacrifice your barriers in the first waves to afford to upgrade your city then have overwhelming economy to build towers and units on cooldown.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty meh experience. A game for kids sure, but its still not a good lane defense game. The cutscenes especially, but also the game itself is lowres. Balancing is way off. Not horrendous, but sure af not good. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles, not all though. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice lil tower defence type game "for the kids". Not bad, esp for the discounted price.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks for steam coupons, good for game farming, but I had to use SAM for the achievements, why is this game so slow? I could feel my soul leaving my body, in ten minutes I was about to meet Satan. I may or may not come back to get the achievements the legitimate way if I wanna suffer later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incredibly strange and problematic. Each level is increasingly difficult with no real power ups or aids. You'll unlock stronger (more expensive) cards but you won't ever be able to use them. The game has 0 sense of balancing whatsoever and you will be able to beat all standard levels (not bosses) with the 3 first cards you unlock. If you don't have a keen eye for strategy, don't play this game. It requires a lot of skill, effort and timing to play properly due to the lack of care…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish there were a middling option for recommendation because I don't want to fully say yes or no to this game. It's a small game, but not terribly made. The art style has some charm to it, and I had some fun with my ~1.5 hours in the game. The gameplay is relatively solid, though it can get a bit tedious during boss fights. The vignette system is fun, and having the 3 generals provide a discount to a portion of the troops does lead to some fun builds once all of them have been unlocked. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this with a 90% off coupon from steam. It's mechanics are bad. You can't build defenses because your troops wander off screen. The monsters are much tougher than your pigs and scale with time. The sound effects are ear piercing and not much enjoyable. The art is good. Not a bad game for 15 or so cents but not one I could recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lame and uneventful. art is good even though cutscenes are completely pixelated and resolution is bad. tower defense style except I'd much rather play Bloons or Plants vs. zombies. had a coupon for it so there wasn't much to lose. It'd be better if basic forces didn't just wander off the lanes.
