positive · AI labelView post →Okay. I’ll share. My favorite Kung Fu movie, and I’ve seen plenty, is Fist Of Legend starring Jet Li.
positive · AI labelView post →FIST OF LEGEND Dir: Gordon Chan 1994 #NowWatching Taking this one up to a full 5 stars. Movie is balls to the wall awesome and win or lose, Billy Chow is one scary fucker!
positive · AI labelView post →To newcomers I usually recommend Fist of Legend with Jet Li and Legend of Drunken Master with Jackie Chan. For the best Bruce Lee movie, Way of the Dragon, hands down. And my personal favorite is the Motown classic The Last Dragon bsky.app/profile/pecu...
positive · AI labelView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Year 2, Day #106 "Fist of Legend" (Gordon Chan/1994) An absolute masterpiece of martial arts cinema! Jet Li fights like a beast and Billy Chow can kill a man in his sleep. You seriously need to check this one out.
positive · AI labelView post →I will neither confirm nor deny my involvement in the increased frequency of #BrigitteLin #林青霞 films shown at Duke. Join us for our mini retro-martial arts cinema arc this spring, with screenings of FIST OF LEGEND and PEKING OPERA BLUES (I'll be doing a brief intro for the latter) at The Ruby!

We discuss the film’s approach to action choreography, its nature as a remake/retelling, and how its characters stack up to similar films. Enjoy!
neutral · AI labelView post →As a #Junesploitation bonus on '90s Action day I watched "Fist of Legend" aka. 精武英雄 (1994) - Director: Gordon Chan This remake of the Bruce Lee classic "Fist of Fury" starring Jet Li has some of the most hard hitting, bone-breaking action scenes ever put on film and I was lapping up every second!
positive · AI labelView post →Thinking about "heroes need to get beat up" while watching FIST OF LEGEND this morning. It's a remake of FIST OF FURY and like that movie, you can probably count on one hand the number of hits Chen Zen takes. (In both movies together, honestly) and yet it works.
neutral · AI labelView post →Rewatching Fist of Legend after it came up short on the latest Blessed Blontent Blub poll on the patreon. (I didn't even bring it, Kris beat me to it.) It is still amazing the extent to which Chen Zhen is just HIM in this movie. Motherfucking industrial aura plantation.
positive · AI labelView post →Fist of Legend is the first movie that made me think kung fu is cool as hell and now I teach it so yeah hell yeah
positive · AI labelView post →Today I have a double-header of action-horror reviews. The highlight is SHADOW: DEAD RIOT (2006), an American women-in-prison vs. zombies + kung fu movie directed by FIST OF LEGEND cinematographer Derek Wan.
neutral · AI labelView post →people will describe a "realistic" martial arts movie and then use something like Fist of Legend as an example no, it's not realistic and that's perfectly fine, the movie rocks actual realism is something like Black Belt (2007) or most of Iron & Silk (1990) except for the final "sparring match"
positive · AI labelView post →My personal fav Jet Li film is "Fist of Legend", where he re-made Bruce Lee's second film "Fist of Fury" (released as The Chinese Connection in the U.S. for years) It's the film that made The Wachowskis call up Li's film choreographer, Yuen Woo-ping You don't have The Matrix without Fist of Legend
positive · AI labelView post →Yup. I do think Fist of Legend is probably his best film, and probably one of the best martial arts films of all time, and he’s dead serious in that one, but man I love goofy ass Kung Fu Cult Master Jet.
positive · AI labelView post →I am so sorry, my #KungFuSat 👊🏼 #FistOfLegend peeps, but I just CANNOT keep up with everyone's posts during the awesomeness of this movie 🤷🏻♀️ I apologize in advance 🙈
neutral · AI labelView post →Not enough Kung Fu films turn into courtroom dramas #KungFuSat #FistOfLegend
neutral · AI labelView post →Name your favorite martial arts film. WARNING: Unfair prompt 😅 This could change in the blink of an eye... Fist of Legend (1994)
positive · AI labelView post →CHIN Siu-Ho (Niu in this film) was also in the classic Jet Li films TAI CHI MASTER and FIST OF LEGEND #FrightClub 🧛🏻 #BioRaiders
neutral · AI labelView post →#KungFuSat 👊🏼 #FistOfLegend Welcome my friends, to one of my all time favorite movies! A KFS poll said you'd prefer this today over another new pick ♥️ I am watching the (goofily) dubbed version 🤣

positive · AI labelView post →Morning stupid thoughts: Saw a thumbnail for a movie called "Fist of Legend" So my dumb cat brain started thinking of alternate titles and began chortling and cackling on the floor. Any of these alts make you laugh or cringe? -Legend of Fist -Fist Legend -Old Fist Legend ->

unlabelledView post →One of my all-time favs. My comfort movie is Fist of Legend
unlabelledView post →THEM (sarcastic, shallow, unserious): Morgan Freeman? Wow, that automatically makes it Jet Li's best movie, huh? YOU (knowing, wise, broadened): No, that's FIST OF LEGEND. It *is* Top 5 Morgan Freeman flicks, tho.
unlabelledView post →watching the English dub of Fist of Legend (1994), whose fight scenes were so good, they inspired the Wachowski sisters to hire the choreographer for Fist of Legend for their film in production, The Matrix youtu.be/XB9FicC0PhY
unlabelledView post →Fist of Legend is probably Li's best film, but I would argue Fearless is also up there.

unlabelledView post →I’m extremely excited to have had the opportunity to purchase this and look forward to diving in deep. There have been times that I’ve argued FIST OF LEGEND is the best martial arts film of all time. And the FONG SAI YUK films will be first time watches for me. (I understand I’m in for a treat).
unlabelledView post →Yup. Most people know him as the uncle character in FIST OF LEGEND but LEGEND OF A FIGHTER opposite Leung Kar yan is a GOOD movie.

unlabelledView post →Turns out a 30 year old kung fu movie has a lot to say about our current political moment here in the USA. FIST OF LEGEND (1994) is one of the best martial arts movies ever made. It's also a fascinating exploration of fascism, resistance, and the price of national identity. #hegseth

unlabelledView post →Are you going through my blu-ray collection from the late oughts? What is next? The Shinjuku Incident? Flashpoint? Force of Five? Chocolate? Raging Phoenix? Kill Zone? The whole CineAsia collection (Tai Chi Master, the old Fist of Legend blu-ray and the IP Man film also from that company).
unlabelledView post →Fist of Legend is my favorite overall Jet Li movie, but Kiss of the Dragon will always be a favorite of mine.
unlabelledView post →In my youth, I went on a quest to find the best martial arts film. You would think this was an impossible task (and deep down I knew it too), but after watching dozens and dozens of them I came across Fist of Legend and I stopped searching.
unlabelledView post →If I remember right, he was directing Drunken Master 2 until him and Jacky had some creative differences during the filming and he left the production, so he was killed off with a gun in the Axe Gang scene. That movie blew my high school mind, the same dude sold me Fist of Legend a month later...
unlabelledView post →Watching Fist of Legend. 🎬🎥📼 #filmsky #jetli #kungfu letterboxd.com/film/fist-of...
unlabelledView post →Fist of Legend is the last movie in the collection.
unlabelledView post →Fist Of Legend is my all time favorite Kung Fu movie
unlabelledView post →The final fight in Fist of Legend might be my favourite from any Kung Fu/Wuxia/vaguely martial arts themed movie
unlabelledView post →I got the two Fong Sai Yuk films originally from HK on DVD before Jet Li was really famous so I'd yet to see things like OUATIC or Fist of Legend. At the time they were so much better than anything else I'd seen. They're still great, though nostalgia definitely colours my appreciation. #filmsky
unlabelledView post →Merry Martial Movie 6/31: Fist of Legend (1994) Speaking of Chen Zhen, here's the same story as Fist of Fury, with Jet Li in his 90s prime. The wushu master is known for his grace, but this movie shows another side. Brutal fishhooks, ear rips, crotch shots, and complicated politics. Check it out!
unlabelledView post →Literally my reaction to The Matrix when I walked out was "Oh. A couple of white kids finally did a decent Hong Kong action movie." And of course they did, because they got the choreographer of Fist of Legend to do the same fight with the Japanese general but in a subway.
unlabelledView post →It's interesting to compare Bruce Lee in FIST OF FURY to Jet Li in FIST OF LEGEND in this regard ― Bruce Lee is never in "peril", which makes for a very different sort of movie
unlabelledView post →That said, coming back into Fist of Legend as an adult ...give me all the cultural nuance and as much of a definitive cut of this film as possible. Though, I think Sean Gilman has said that aspects of the Miramax cut have bled over into later hybrid versions. Waiting to see 88's release description.
unlabelledView post →Fist of Legend (1994) Pretty good movie despite the atrocious sound quality and ADR. Basically every duel in this movie is good and memorable but my favorite is the fight between Chen Zhen and Funakoshi. The way the hay is kicked up just hits different.
unlabelledView post →Saw this tonight and I’m not sure how this slipped past me for all these years. A WIP zombie kung fu movie, with Misty Mundae, Ruby LaRocca, and Tony Todd. Filled with Jess Franco references like characters named Lina, Brigitte, and Elsa Thorne… and it’s directed by the guy who did Fist of Legend!
