If that question confuses you, welcome to our new video, in which I tell you how China and Japan *don't* translate each other's movie titles. youtu.be/eKDxdciwufA
unlabelledView post →long ago the great Roger Ebert reviewed Jackie Chan's "Legend of Drunken Master" and harshly criticized its R rating, saying its violence was more like kids' cartoons than brutal action films, finally stating "to rate this movie R is to be terminally clueless" anyway this post is about #Balatro

unlabelledView post →Showed my kid Drunken Master 2 tonight and goddamn that is a masterpiece of a movie
unlabelledView post →The movie was Drunken Master 2. It’s too sad, watching a 48 year old man beat his drunken 40 year old son.
unlabelledView post →To newcomers I usually recommend Fist of Legend with Jet Li and Legend of Drunken Master with Jackie Chan. For the best Bruce Lee movie, Way of the Dragon, hands down. And my personal favorite is the Motown classic The Last Dragon bsky.app/profile/pecu...
unlabelledView post →Haven't been able to catch up on everything yet but I just want to remind people that The Legend of Drunken Master and Drunken Master II are the same movie! I've seen a few people draw the distinction while talking about DM1 but in most cases, Drunken Master 2 is the one people are talking about.

A trailer for the AI remake of John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow turns into an animated cyberpunk movie. Unlike Hollywood they’re all in on AI

unlabelledView post →Good Chinese New Year evening, #MutantFam and #FilmSky! I am now watching/rewatching Drunken Master (1978) on DVD to watch Jackie Chan practice his drunken fist style.

unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Day #203 "Drunken Master II" (Lau Kar-leung/1994) Top tier Jackie Chan action and comedy. Awesome cast too! Behold the power of alcohol as Jackie stomps the living daylights out of everyone. Not to be missed!
unlabelledView post →My favorite Jackie Chan movie is Drunken Master II but his best fight is his fight against Benny “The Jet” Urquidez in Wheels on Meals.

unlabelledView post →How Jackie Chan Filmed the Best Fight Scene in Cinema History. The first two DVDs I ever bought (before I even owned a DVD player, I had to rent one from my local Blockbuster) were _Das Boot_ and _Drunken Master 2_. I think I'll rewatch DM2 before I watch this video.

unlabelledView post →I haven't gone through the new Jackie Chan Arrow box fully yet, just some skimming, but Drunken Master 2... Anyone who has spent years collecting kung fu movies knows how much effort it used to take to get a somewhat decent copy of this movie. Never seen it looking like this.
unlabelledView post →The Magnificent Butcher (1979) ⭐ 7.2. From [Yuen Woo-Ping](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0950759) director of the first Drunken Master, great action comedy
unlabelledView post →14. The Drunken Master (movie, 1978) Some of the most fun I've ever had watching a movie. Every single movement, be it comedic, actiony, or mundane, is meticulously planned and choreographed to be as awesome - and as funny - as possible. The craft that went into it genuinely blew me away.
unlabelledView post →I can dig it. Are there Jackie Chan movies I enjoyed more than Police Story? Probably. (Lookin' at YOU, Drunken Master II.) Are there Jackie Chan movies that better encapsulate what an action movie is about in its bones? Probably not.

unlabelledView post →Finally watched Drunken Master, that movie is really good! I knew Toriyama had cited it as an inspiration but I’m surprised by how much of it is in early Dragon Ball’s DNA.
unlabelledView post →Drunken Master 2 is only the greatest martial arts film of all time and this fight scene isn’t even the best one in it.
unlabelledView post →Drunken Master has the most perfect ending in film. Smash the bad guy's face, instant cheer and freeze frame bsky.app/profile/morr...
unlabelledView post →On the episode, I talk about why my favorite Jackie Chan films aren’t the Hollywood ones. They’re his earlier films, because of the better fight choreography and stunt work. My top three: 🥋 Drunken Master II 🚓 Police Story 3: Supercop 🏙️ Rumble in the Bronx What’s your favorite Jackie Chan film?
unlabelledView post →This was Jackie Chan's breakout movie. His fame would eventually let him make Police Story (1985), which is my favorite movie of his. Drunken Master has an interesting relationship to Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon (1972). Lee's shadow looms over all of HK cinema through the 70s. And for good reason.
unlabelledView post →Look you don’t hire the director of Drunken Master to be your fight choreographer unless you are serious about your Wuxia Cyberpunk fusion movie.
unlabelledView post →After watching Legend of Drunken Master, Noelle and I watched Rumble in the Bronx. It’s a much slower and less satisfying movie but Noelle still loved it. She’s already chosen the next movie that we’ll watch tomorrow, Police Story 4: First Strike
unlabelledView post →I've been stuck at home this past week and so powered through a bunch of movies! I cannot believe it took me so long to watch classic Jackie Chan. Started with Police Story, then Wheels on Meals and finally Drunken Master. All of them were great in their own ways, but so far Drunken Master has been the chef's kiss. Also watched Brigadoon, lovely colourful 1950s musical with Gene Kelly. It's not the best of his/that era but it was sa good time.
unlabelledView post →It’s early on in “Drunken Master 2”, a movie with no lack of jawdropping fight scenes, but this fight under a train, featuring living legend Lau Kar-Leung is an absolute all-timer. youtu.be/WeWA0hUfi6k?...
unlabelledView post →Day 2 of the 1970s movie marathon continues with Drunken Master, an early Jackie Chan film that I've never seen before. Based on the movie poster, I might actually end up watching one athlete carrying a ball on Superbowl Sunday. #filmsky
unlabelledView post →Movie is Drunken Master 2 a.k.a. Legend of Drunken Master. www.imdb.com/title/tt0111...
unlabelledView post →Drunken Master 2 is amazing, and probably my favourite movie about a Kung Fu practitioner and his best friend who is also his Stepmom. While this sounds like a joke, I actually really love their friendship, it's so nice.
unlabelledView post →Legend of Drunken Master drinking game where you drink every time Jackie Chan does would be so goddamned funny. You’d spend most of the movie stone sober and then immediately have to power-chug for like 20 minutes straight while Jackie gets absolutely whooped by his dad.
unlabelledView post →Sounds like the next Drunken Master film.
unlabelledView post →Fully used my birthday privilege to force my husband to watch The Furious and omfg I haven’t wanted to practice action sequences in front of my mirror this much since I watched Drunken Master on our newly installed Star TV satellite connection as a teen in Calcutta. Perfect movie for a perfect bday.
unlabelledView post →Name a film you saw on VHS Drunken Master
unlabelledView post →Airplane! Is always top class Maybe not the *funniest*, but my favorite is Legend of the Drunken Master with Jackie Chan. There are some insanely good quips in that movie. Although there seem to be a few different translated versions? So there's some slight differences between them and one is definitely funnier than the rest.

I think that's Peter Murphy... with a beard? did he ever have a beard? 4. oh Morrisey... I heard you said some bad things.... you always were pretentious, but did you have to go there? 5.…
unlabelledView post →You’ve inherited a movie theater, what’s your first double feature? Open with a bang and two of the best action movies ever: Aliens and Mad Max: Fury Road (possibly the black and chrome cut) Or! A Buster Keaton movie (Steamboat Bill Jr?) and a Jackie Chan movie (Drunken Master? Project A?)
unlabelledView post →🎬 Drunken Master II (1994) A superior film to the original. The action is better choreographed and Jackie Chan's humor is more refined.
