32 of 32 · most liked firstTeaser for STRIKING RESCUE, a new Tony Jaa movie (!!!) coming out in China this week. From Cheng Siyi, director of this year's DESPERADO.
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching Striking Rescue (2024 Siyu Cheng) After watching one of the worst Mainland Chinese movies I've ever seen last week (Ultimate Mission) here's one that might actually be quite good. Good to see Tony Jaa leading a film again after so long too. Phillip Keung co-stars to class things up.

unlabelledView post →If the average Timo Tjahjanto movie is the modern equivalent of Hard Boiled, then Striking Rescue is a good Iron Angels or In the Line of Duty III equivalent. Not S tier, but a ton of fun.

unlabelledView post →Sorry, I'm going to add a few more before the year ends. An action movie I enjoyed that most people don't seem to know about: Tony Jaa in STRIKING RESCUE.
unlabelledView post →I have no idea why you're so stuck on Revenge of the Sith, a movie I don't even really like. But no, this film is worse than all of those. Striking Rescue is a lame excuse to inject comedy into a Tony Jaa film with some really sloppy editing and pacing. It sucks, frankly.
unlabelledView post →I did see Tony Jaa's newest movie and man...it isn't great. Not the worst movie, I just want the man to get his career going again, and Striking Rescue isn't gonna help much.

unlabelledView post →To be clear, there is a real Tony Jaa movie called STRIKING RESCUE (just out on disc) and since it was made last year for a Chinese streaming service it seemed not-impossible that there was a sequel. So yes, I am the fans of the first movie.
unlabelledView post →A Tony Jaa film will only ever be as good as the action that empowers it, and that isn't exactly good news for Striking Rescue. inreviewonline.com/2025/04/26/s...

unlabelledView post →STRIKING RESCUE is another Cheng Siyi film that I'm just not a fan of. Maybe he's not for me. Tony Jaa's fighting is nice but the story once again just doesn't work. He speaks primarily English and the revenge tale only gives us flashbacks to why he's taking revenge. It doesn't work.
unlabelledView post →Striking Rescue 惊天大营救 (2024) Director: Cheng Siyi Tony Jaa's first real new film in a long while, Striking Rescue plays like a greatest hits reel with everything you'd expect from a new Jaa film. It will hit US theaters on December 6, 2024, courtesy of Well Go USA.
unlabelledView post →120th movie of 2024: Striking Rescue (2024). Tony Jaa has to save a little girl by navigating a series of kick ass practical action set pieces. Calls back to lots of great HK action movies but also more recent stuff like the Oldboy hallway fight. Top tier bone crunching entertainment. #Filmsky 📽️
