Day #358 "Armour of God II: Operation Condor" (Jackie Chan/1991) A ton of fun to be had in this sequel that outdoes the original. Jackie Chan folks, the dude is just entertaining as all hell. Check it out!
unlabelledView post →Reminder to new users here: Dimension Films released Jackie Chan’s Armour of God series to the US in the wrong order and retitled the first film as a sequel. Operation Condor was originally Armour of God 2: Operation Condor and Operation Condor 2: Armor of God was originally just Armour of God.

THE SEVENTH CURSE (1986) An impossibly attractive cast of HK film legends star in this film gumbo of TEMPLE OF DOOM, ALIEN, RAMBO, ARMOUR OF GOD, and just sheer unbridled child-killing insanity peppered with a disregard for stunt people safety. A delight. #31HorrorFilms31Days

Tons of churches now have movie night where all kinds of anti -Dem movies are shown like "2000 Mules" They all believe 'USA founded on Christian' principles. Brainwashing started in CHURCHES !

unlabelledView post →Armour of God is a movie that didn't age well. Think Jackie Chan as Indiana Jones, except his main redeemable factor of trying to preserve artifacts for posterity doesn't even exist. He just pawns off the stuff he finds. These badasses are the best part of the film and are criminally underutilized.
unlabelledView post →I'd definitely recommend both the film and that edition of Armour of God. Not the VERY top rank of his work for me, but still incredibly good fun.

Armour of God II: Operation Condor (1991) "What if Temple of Doom was the greatest movie ever made?" -Jackie Chan, 1991 Watched this last week and had a really good time, while the plot was pretty thin, the comedy in this more than makes up for it. Definitely gonna have to rewatch it soon.

unlabelledView post →"Armour of God II: Operation Condor" is a 60% awful movie that really brings to light that Jackie Chan is a talented asshole who can make a good action scene, but the majority of the scenes BETWEEN the action is fucking miserable. Jackie wrote and directed it, so when a scene is awful, blame him.

As ever with these movies the voices never quite fit. Lots of product placement and I think a few things lost in translation. /1

unlabelledView post →The Armour of God is an action-adventure movie about traveling to darkest Europe to battle an exotic religious cult over control of artifacts that belong in a museum. As is appropriate, the most powerful armour in the movie is a suicide bomber vest, which is used to comedic effect in the finale.

unlabelledView post →Continuing my #JackieChan day with #OperationCondor: #ArmourOfGod 2. I had some nostalgia for this movie and it does start off very strong and fast paced. But somewhere around the halfway point or even a bit before that, it starts to stretch every sequence just a little too far. Suddenly everything goes on foreeeeever. And it's also just a bit too silly eventually. If you haven't seen this movie in a while, give it a rewatch and let me know what you think.
unlabelledView post →I just watched Armour of God. The beginning and ending are the big highlights. However, the film suffers from pacing issues during the middle portion of the film. Still an alright movie, though.
unlabelledView post →a sequel that's bigger, better and even more daring. This time, Jackie's intrepid treasure hunter is on the hunt for some Nazi gold but recovering it will not be easy, let alone safe. The most expensive Hong Kong film produced at that time, Armour of God II: Operation Condor showcases
unlabelledView post →I realized I've never watched the first Armour of God as an adult, so I put it on. It's arguably a worse movie than its sequel - not quite-as-good fights and stunts, padded with unfunny comedy sequences, and the mish-mash of Indiana Jones and James Bond doesn't gel.
unlabelledView post →On his Facebook wall, MacGyver screenwriter John Sheppard posted about Jackie Chan's Armour of God: "I even got to write a stunt that Jackie was kind enough to keep in the movie (two monks play catch with a burning stick of dynamite while hurling polite insults at each other)."
unlabelledView post →Jackie Chan's Armour of God (1986) would have been a funnier film if it was revealed that the Count's daughter is actually one of those women who describe male partners as daddies (BDSM or sugar). Incest can be funny if it involves mistaken identity, and Hong Kong cinema was politically incorrect.
unlabelledView post →ARMOUR OF GOD (1986), dir. by Jackie Chan & Eric Tsang. It's hard to beat a HK action film by Jackie Chan in his prime, you're guaranteed a good amount of slapstick and a couple extremely dangerous stunts. Which this film has, even if the video/subtitle quality aren't up to par. 7/10. 📽️
