60 of 190 · most liked firstShort version: 79% Despite spending half an eternity in public beta, the final chapter of Doorways not only learnt from the numerous mistakes of the previous episodes but also managed to surpass them to mature into an atmospheric, gripping indie horror puzzle-platformer. Long version: I’ll be honest: I didn’t have much hope for this one. It took quite some time for the game to move outside Early Access and the developers handed out an alarming amount of free keys on various sites. Everything…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is being sold on its puzzle solving and atmosphere. And yes it does have a good atmosphere and yes there is some puzzle solving, so of which is interesting and different from what I've seen in the past. HOWEVER, the thing not clear in the trailers etc, is the "platformer" nature of the game. What do I mean? Jumping puzzles. Timing runs through areas. And so on. I quit the game early on because I don't like jumping and timing runs, etc. I was very agrivated when it became clear…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doorways Prelude was absolutely wondeful back in 2013 - it was very much the pace setter for a great number of indie horror titles which followed, and was steeped in originality and genuinely chilling content. For a low-budget horror game, it was basically flawless. Its sequel, Underworld, threw away every ounce of ingenuity and decided to copy all the other horror games - we had a bunch of Slenderman-esque chaser sequences and that nightmare 'maze' which might go down as some of the worst…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The title for this game is horribly misleading as none of the doorways I've gone through have lead to a set of tits. Lack of breasts aside, the perversely tragic story of the Torres family is incredible, and incredibly disturbing. A dark, frequently unnerving and occasionally terrifying environment serves as it's perfect match. Doorways has an excellent concept and offers plenty of e̶n̶t̶e̶r̶t̶a̶i̶n̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ heart stopping, panic stricken moments. Everything from the atmosphere, graphics, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant! The best part of the series! Beautiful, atmospheric and deep. This game gets all the best from previous two parts and takes it to the new level! And the story. Not only it's more dark and terryfying, it also touches some deep themes and tells us more about the protoagonist. The only problem- it's pretty short, but totally worth playing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so, I found out *after* purchasing this that it's connected somehow to other games in a series. which is quite a big detail to miss in the naming of the game itself. because of this mistake I have no idea how I should be reviewing this as a whole, as all I can really do is review this title specificly. what exactly have I missed? the game begins as the player descends some sort of tower into a hellish landscape. though it's quickly hinted at that you're inside the mind of a physopath or a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I held out hope that Saibot Studios would eventually hit upon a working horror formula by the end of the Doorways series. Prelude (from what I had seen) was a lot of wandering with very little happening, and Underworld had some ungainly monsters crammed into cramped halls and tiresome puzzles. There were hints of greatness hiding in the atmosphere and sound design though, which helped birth the hope that this one might be the one that finally gets it right. And while Holy Mountains of Flesh is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So much promise. Fantastic ambiance... great sound, then it is repetetive textures and trying fifty locked doors looking for a single stone goblet. If you find your way to the prison/school, be sure you'll have trouble getting the electrical panel open in under an hour. Very, very frustrating. A lot of people loved this game, wish I could be one of them... but the goofy controls and no HUD left me out in the cold, in door-knocking hell.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Argentinian Amnesia. The game does very little to explain itself, and some of the puzzles, while not overly complex, will have you back tracking because you failed to spot a particular item, or read a certain note. I'm pretty happy to find that it's light on jump scares, relying instead on atmosphere and a surprisingly well developed back story to put you on edge. So far this is a solid 7/10. Really solid indie horror, for those who have some patience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to like this game, I really did. Trying to enjoy the atmosphere of the game was a challenge. Running everywhere trying to figure out where to go. But the one thing that killed the game for me was the puzzles. The damn puzzles. In any of the Penumbra or Amnesia games, which this game seems like its trying to be a spiritual successor, the puzzles in those games were fair and solvable. Gave you a good amount of informtion & hints to solve them. Made you think and they were fun to solve,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extreme Horror, Extreme Gameplay! VRGR - 08/10 The game is quite "Thrilling and Scary". Just 15 mins of gameplay and this game has proved itself. Just amazing. A little more development and a little more perfection, the game will rock the market.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the worst game I've ever played. Buggy controls, horrible mechanics, sucky graphics. I don't know who's rating this game so highly but mark my words, it's horrible. Don't bother.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*A key has been provided from giveaways* -20fps at my old hd6570 card (1366x768)... -no hint or tutorial, just open the door and get bored... +nice atmosphere for horror games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Doorways games continue to impress me. This is definitely the biggest and most ambitious yet with terrifying new enemies, more complex environments, and a continued trend of innovative puzzles to solve. Holy Mountains of Flesh is what I like to refer to as a game with “perfect pacing”. Unlike many horror themed games out there, the Doorways series always manages to strike a great balance between tension and relief. You’re not constantly being chased, but at the same time you’re not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The atmosphere for this game is amazing! The fear produced goes well beyond your typical jump scares. The navigation and puzzles were difficult enough to make the game interesting, but not so difficult as to leave you feeling salty and frustrated. It was really easy to immerse yourself into this world and you can almost feel someone breathing down your neck around every corner. By the end of the first part, I found myself aching for more content. Can not wait for full release!! A must have for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I read all the materials available in the game and honestly, I couldn't give you a super-straightforward explanation of exactly why my character was there, at that time, running around dodging hellish monsters without completely breaking down. After playing through a bit of the game by myself I started playing in tandem with a friend and we both more stumbled our way through solutions to the crazy puzzles(?) and survived encounters more by accident than on purpose. The end encounter…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →By far the best game in the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS – Some interesting puzzles – Moderate backstory CONS – Poor graphics + visual issues – Ambiance is too heavy handed – Enemies aren’t scary 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At its current state Id call it Doorways : Beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ . Its unstable AF, moving the mouse feels awkward as hell with the way the camera moves and all graphics presets have 0 difference in performance at all. The first time i run it it froze and i had to force shutdown my pc , then they fixed it i started it in the highest graphics settings and my fps went up and down all the time from 20 to 60 , then i switched to mid and then to low and it was the same. Before you tell me "Its going to…

Graphics are generally okey - I wouldn't call them ugly nor pretty. Music and sounds might be strongest part of this game - can't tell anything bad about them. Gameplay itself feels stiff... with all that accurate pointing into object (door knob) to highlight it - it makes difficulty of spotting useful items. Also, game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid end to the Doorways series. Each act focuses on a different member of the Torres family, who challenge us to pay attention to our surroundings, complete mind-bending puzzles and think outside of the box, all the while providing us with more than a fair share of horrific imagery. Definitely worth a play, especially if you've enjoyed the previous Doorways games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdbT8wS0O9M&list=PL3AISiWybyWeyLt9R6cxbZz4u6_y0XuTb
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just beat Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh. I have to say, this ones a hard call. The cut scenes were complete crap and the controls were clunky at best. But, there were still some great visuals and the idea and story line once you actually got far enough in the game were good. Overall though, I don't think I can actually recommend this game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh is not the best looking horror game out there, but on the other hand it manages to create a dark atmosphere that brings in front a very good experience all the time... The gameplay is amazing, and the fact that you can enjoy the overall way things are made only manages to make everything more cool and exciting... Besides the scares being few but really good, I could never get the game to run well due to poor fps... I need to up my specs... :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh is a game that I recommend because: - is a method to banish boredom - is indie - have trading cards - have action - is a horror game Enjoy!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't even launch this game properly, it gives me "Doorways.exe has stopped working" right after the intro video and I'm also pretty sure the problem isn't on my end since all other games are working perfectly fine. edited... Okay, after having some difficulties to even launch the game I'm gonna revise my review now. First things first, I must say that one of the developers was very adamant and helpful in resolving the issue I had, so props to him. About the game now, after playing it for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great horror game. Very suspenseful scenes. The FPS is kinda poor unless you're willing to forego the lower resolution and quality but everything else is good. Puzzles are somewhat minimal in this chapter. You're mostly exploring and finding paths to take.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game caters to a specific type of gamer. It is certainly not for everyone. If you pay good attention to detail, enjoy puzzles, appreciate well-written stories, but also like some creepiness and the occasional (very occasional) jump scare, this game is for you. This game also carries an element of mystery, you're essentaily a detective with a psychological gift, who is attempting to solve the mystery of a lost city. For spoilers sake, I won't say more. I will only say that the story is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for a "scary" horror game, this one might not satisfy you. However, if you're looking for an atmospheric, psychological horror game with solid gameplay, you might enjoy it. Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh is a horror game with a lot of puzzle solving just like the previous two games in the Doorway trilogy ("Doorways: Prelude" and "Doorways: The Underworld"). I'm impressed that the devs are devoted to the atmosphere building, the story and the level design of the game to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A dark Museum full of nothing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What is the Doorways Series? A ♥♥♥♥ game Series by wannabe Game-Devs. It´s just a poor Walking-Sim with some stupid wannabe puzzle in there. And the best thing in every game, you don´t have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue what you should do. So if you like running around the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ area without a single hint what you need to do then go on and buy this game. If you have a single braincell left just leave this game and the whole Series alone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate these games Why do I even try ;_; Still a nice game, not a jump-scare simulator peace of ♥♥♥♥ like so many other "horror" games Good graphics comparing to other games of the genre but could be a bit better optimized Good sounds and atmosphere Puzzles aren't that hard or boring Notes read themselves and in a sexy voice lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jump scare, story driven, dark indie adventure game. I personally did not find this game scary, but perhaps I was too distracted. Great graphics, sound and interesting story. Good atmosphere. Game play felt a little muddy at first. Puzzles have been easy so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing fun and exciting game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was ever a time I could somewhat relate to how Game of Thrones viewers felt with the abysmal last season, its with this game here. Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh is a huge step back from the previous two games in terms of story, atmosphere, and design. Convoluted puzzle design, predictable ending and an unbelievable setting that the protagonist doesn't even stop to question. 1. The World - Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh takes place in what can only be described as a hellscape of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since this release is a direct continuation of the series, you're once again playing as Thomas Foster; agent extraordinaire in the Doorways agency, a company determined to track down and demolish serial killers and other miscreants. Agent Foster is now on his fourth case, where he is tasked to hunt down the Torres family in the small village of El Chacal, Argentina. The primary target is the father, Juan, but also Juan's son, Jeronimo, and wife, Celia. Unlike the protagonists from the last two…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The experience started out good, the underworld area is genuinly terrifying and graphically amazing. Shortly after we are transported to a school, and it's immedietly clear that half the artists left the project because the quality went from an 8 to a 4. More gameplay issues ensued and at some point I gave up tabing to for a playthrough. Well...it's slightly better than the first Doorways game. The sound design is excellent, but everything else is just all over the place. The 3D artist made…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game have 89% possitive reviews! But for me it is boring game, that is also badly optimized. I experienced also a lot of freezing in game even when was graphics set to medium! Avoid this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game for free and I still feel like I paid too much for it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh both in early access and now the FULL RELEASE! Nothing has changed! This game does have incredible pacing. You will be pacing very much across the levels over and over trying to solve innovative puzzles. Who thought to hide a key that opens a locked door. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS IN A GAME BEFORE. SO INNOVATIVE! And monster, you only hear them, they do not appear for the greatest monsters are in your own IMAGINATION! GENIUS DEVELOPERS! I applaud you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has its share of imperfections. What's particularly annoying is how it sometimes hides keys and passages in plain sight. Some gameplay elements are a bit tired. Cutscenes look bad - somehow worse than the game itself. But the art direction, atmosphere and story are pretty good and distinctive. It doesn't feel like yet another generic horror game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game its so amazing So scary
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im liking this whole series, Its a really good Puzzle/horror experience. Cheaper and better than most indie horrors, Pick em all up, especially now when they are all on a discount. https://youtu.be/D5FRZFs_RCI
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Totally epic :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Holy Mountains of Flesh, an apt and disturbing image conjuring title, is the third instalment of the Doorways series by Saibot Studios. While my knowledge of the previous games was experienced by other gamers in ‘Let’s Plays’ I had the chance to play the most recent in this games series and I could definitely understand the horror that some of them witnessed. My proverbial hat is tipped to David Levill, the music producer for Doorways, it is spot on for creating a tense environment throughout…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh is a prety fun experience. The best way to describe it is "Argentinian Amnesia". Creepy ambience, puzzles hard and fun, and creepy creatures. If you like the horror genre, this is an Auto-Buy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the immersion that this game achieves.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →terrible performance, long loading times, and crashing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a really cool atmosphere in almost every house, developers must work with game's optimization. Talking about Scenario, if you play much, this game will become boring. Soundtrack isn't bad. Do I recommend this game? Yes I do.buy it on sale when it costs cheaper, I do not recommend buying this at it's full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →35 minutes later and pretty much nothing happened other than I climbed over a fence and a ghost ran at me. Probably the most boring game I think I have ever played in my entire life. Imagine Layers of Fear, except nothing happens other than you read notes. Also, saw some wrecthed thing in a Mexican school library about 31 minutes into the game but of course it disappeared. I am a communications major and I don't have the words to describe how bored I was playing this game. If you are creeped…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well an Argentinian game? That's great, Latin America needs more game developing in general. **You can change mouse sensitivity and turn off smoothing in the controls.** I haven't played much and I don't have much experience with horror games, so I'll stick with the overall experience. - I don't know why, I liked the intro menu? The colors of the cave/hole are nicely balanced. - Well as for the story I may try to grasp it sometime but it's very alien to me. It sounds interesting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So. I can't find the Dagger at all or the other items you need to open the first door. So I'll give a review of my first impressions of the Early Access version of the game. It took me a while before I figured out how to make the video actually work for me. At first it was going at 25fps but now I've got it going at a solid 60fps, most of the time. Whenever I walk into a building it seems like the game has to load the new rooms, because it freezes for a second and then lets me move again, it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doorways is a great game if you are a fan of horror...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had my doubts at first, but it worked out in the end. Needs some polish for sure (lighting, lag etc), but the game is pretty damned creapy. If the game keeps heading the direction it is in, it will become a great horror title. Glad I played it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →#TTRPG #CRITIQUE I'm currently looking for a reviewer or interviewer interested in speaking about a new game. Willing to appear in videos, talk shop and explain parts of my game as well as give you full copy of Quint: Doorways of Aether as well as keys for your viewers/friends. DMs open :)

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →technically it's the final one but for me it was the first game of the doorways series i played and i liked it quite a lot! it's no AAA game but all in all it is plenty good enough for my liking. while the graphics are nothing special (but nice and bloody) the story is surprisingly interesting and entertaining. basically it's a horror-themed walking simulator with mild puzzles and a few "RUN!" moments and i got some faint amnesia-vibes while playing. if this is your genre this game is…
