Basic Information Title: The Crow's Eye Status: Released Developer: 3D2 Entertainment Publisher: Nkidu Games Inc. Genre: 3D Adventure Release Date: 20th of March, 2017 Type: Singleplayer Introduction I’ll start by stating very clearly that The Crow’s Eye is every other genre you can imagine, but definitely not Horror. In the several hours of playtime I have accumulated so far (and reached the end of the story), I wasn’t startled or scared by anything this game has thrown at me. No jump…

See written review below or watch it here: https://youtu.be/o_gSuh05HFI THIS IS A MIXED/INFORMATIONAL REVIEW! TL;DR: SKIP TO CONCLUSION! The game is set in a medical university. You don’t know who you are or why exactly you’re there, but a bizarre voice guides you over the radio. As you progress through the game, you explore and find letters and audio logs that shed some light on the disappearances that took place in the university decades before. The sense of mystery is always intriguing, but…

Having not completed the game fully yet, take my opinion with a pinch of salt, but I like it so far. Don't think of it as a horror game though, it's more of a puzzle-platformer for the most part. The game offers you a chance to explore an abandoned university while completing puzzles, discovering clues to a few mysterious disappearances and crafting items to help you proceed further. Exploring the environment is key to figuring out a lot of the puzzles. Often items and solutions will be hidden…

This review was made for Elite Giveaways by Anna from [url=https://steamcommunity.com/groups/malkavianmadness]Malkavian Madness The Crow’s Eye is a perverted rendition of the popular saying “bird’s eye view.” By replacing the word “bird,” with “crow,” often associated with misfortune, this horror game intentionally wants to convey anxiety and reluctance. Someone, or something, is watching you, the subject, with eyes full of fear and confusion. Set to a familiar backdrop of games such as…

The Crow's Eye is a rather ambitious little game from an independent Spanish developer. It tries to be much more than it actually is and combines way too many genres and components instead of focusing on a few instead. At first it seems like a psychological horror (in some way it is), but without the presence of any monsters (except for some large parasitic worms which do minimal damage before we shake them off), it could hardly be called one. For an adventure there are far too few items to use…

This game was reviewed using a code provided by the developers/publishers The Crow’s Eye is a puzzle horror game, set against a backdrop of psychological terror. Story: The Crow’s Eye follows a man, who wakes up in what seems to be an abandoned university. You have amnesia and you’re not sure how you got there. You are soon greeted by a man called William Holtwick, a crazy scientist who puts you through increasingly dangerous puzzles. The goal is simple – survive and escape from the…

The Crow’s Eye is the perfect example of a game that’s been gathering dust on the shelf for 10 years and then, when you can’t think of anything else to play, you say to yourself, ‘Why not?’ And that’s when the pleasant surprise hits. The Crow’s Eye owes a lot to its Amnesia-style atmosphere; it’s a fine product of its time. The gameplay is more or less similar, but the big difference is that this is NOT a horror game. It’s first and foremost a puzzle game tinged with mystery. The puzzles are…

When I started playing, I thought I might like this game. But in the end, I was disappointed. Let me explain. Pros: -I liked the music, it was enjoyable I have to say. Fits the atmosphere. -The voice acting and story deliverance was also a strong point in the game. But.. that pretty sums it up. Cons: -So.. first of, repetitive puzzles. (Let's have a puzzle with colored boxes, lets have the same one again at some point, he will forget about it by the time he gets there. Oh, let's do that for…

This game has trouble making up its mind what it is. A platformer or a story driven walking sim. Cuz it doesn't do either well. The platforming mechanics do not fit and are horribly annoying. And the story delivery is not great -- a genius doctor who talks like a psychotic clown? No.

The Crow's Eye is an odd little game that seems to have found its way to a lot of horror fans through Youtubers and online publications alike but I really didn't find a single drop of fright in its lengthy playtime. While the setting (Crowswood Medical University) feels like Outlast, the game is a strange mash-up of Portal-esque FPS puzzle/platforming, walking sim note reading and exploration with a small touch of fetch questing n' crafting. It's a weird realm where fun meets frustration's…

As the voice of Evelynn, this review may be a bit biased. I just wanted to start with that disclaimer. But as a YouTuber who mostly plays horror video games and focuses a lot on the indie side, this is exactly the kind of game I would play on my channel. It has a compelling story, challenging puzzles, tropes to best-selling titles like BioShock, and is an overall good experience to playthrough. Something to keep in consideration when playing this is that it's a debut title for this company.…

It's an interesting game. I wouldn't necessarily call it a horror game or a scary game, but it does has a few small-inimini 'jupscares' and the game has some sort of an eery feel to it. - I would say it's more of a puzzle/platformer-kind of game. Story-wise it's there, it's well written and you want to know more about what happend. Though the ending was kind of a bummer and kind of out of the blue in my opinion. If you want an actual horror/terror game I wouldn't reccomend this game. - Though…

It's an interesting game at first, it has good atmosphere and good voice acting. The story has potential in the first hour or two but then it goes completely downhill and by the end I couldn't even care anymore. Some puzzles are annoying as hell, graphics are serviceable at best and ugly at times. I wanted to like it but it's not as smart of an experience as I thought it would be, it's not smart at all actually. It's too long for its own good and you won't remember it shortly after you finish…

Tough recommendation for atmospheric horror fans. The deeper you go, the harder it gets and the puzzles relentlessly keep coming. What starts off as a subtly spooky investigation game, changes into portal by the end. You will be tested, and you're going to have to be in the mood for puzzles to get the most out of The Crow's Eye. I suggest giving it a shot for like an hour. Maybe, if you feel like it until you reach the exterior of the university. Seeing it all through to the bitter end…

what an odd game. a curious mix of different game elements thrown into a blender and out comes...this. despite its dark look it's only slightly spooky and the 'psychological terror' is not that terrifying either. also there are no enemies and i'm fine with that. i prefer exploring in peace over being chased like a pacifist chicken. the story is not terrible but uninspired for the most part. same goes for the voice acting. not terrible, not great. most puzzles are trivial. until you find a new…

SUMMARY So in short; Crow’s Eye has strong storytelling, good voice acting, nice atmosphere, great music, and is pretty fun. But the platforming is tedious, the puzzles are almost too easy, and the sound effects a bit flat. For fifteen dollars though it delivers a fun and interesting experience, if a bit nerve wracking sometimes. I recommend the game if you like puzzles and mysteries. I was more than happy to go through the platforming just to discover more clues myself. The story had me…

Oh man, the puzzles... dont get me wrong I love puzzles and every horror game ends up having some... but some puzzles can be too much, but then again, it could be me that sucks on time management puzzles, and parkour. I was under the impression that this was supposed to be a horror game. Of course, I bought this awhile back and I see on the store page that it is no longer labeled a horror game, which is great since it is anything but. I am not a huge platform gamer, so this game was definitely not for me. HOWEVER, if platform puzzlers are your thing, this game is not half bad. My one major gripe with it was the clunky jump. Your character has one pitiful jump, and even though you have a shot you can…

While the mad doctor sounds a lot like The Joker, going by the trailer, the character fails to make use of it. Bit of a disappointment there. Although the trailers suggest a 1st Person Horror or Thriller Adventure game, it's actually just a a mix between physics-based JumpnRun puzzler a la Portal where you can jinx a solution "somehow" and Zelda puzzles. Story is... all over the place and failed to actually capture me. Most of the time Player-NSC interaction is limited to "oh, another audio…

Gfx, sound and story is all decent. But what could have been a great game is completely ruined by annoying platform sections. Without them, it would have been a big thumbs up. There are also minor issues. Useless achievements like breaking X number of objects which does absolutely nothing. There's no mosters to lure, no need to throw these items. Yet, they are there including these achievements up to breaking 50 of them. Why? Same for crafting. It's there but could as well has been left out…

I just finished The Crow’s Eye today. I streamed the whole thing to my buddy, M, and we were both completely hooked on the story. It’s intriguing as hell; there’s something about the mystery and the way the narrative unfolds that is eerie but weirdly yummy. That said… it’s pretty slow-paced. Like, really slow. Neutral review: I'm thrilled to see a designer who doesn't think finding batteries or matches is the height of gameplay. The game is decent, but for some reason one of the main characters decided to do a super over the top joker impersonation that was annoying and did not at all fit the tone of the game. Mind you, this is no horror game by conventional standards, but it does have a certain vibe to it that just works. The Crow's Eye had me hooked from the beginning. The story is told mainly through the ramblings of William Holtwick, mad scientist, as well as audio logs and letters found throughout the levels. I liked this game at first as it seemed to have a decent atmosphere, decent puzzles, and a story that got me interested. However, the pacing has major issues and the game slows way down in the second half. This is partly due to a huge increase in the number of boring platforming puzzles, along with a decrease in the amount of story exposition. There was a room where you had to build boxes on top of each other this was a challenge because if a box hit another box or me it would shoot off to the other side of the room and when I pick it up I am neeling down my arms seem to be 6ft long and I want to put it on the box right next to me. "The Crow's Eye" is quite lonely for a Psychological Horror game. It is a dreadful tale that is reminiscent of Steven King. This game runs on the Unity Engine. Gamplay revolves around two types: puzzles and exploration. From what I see, these elements of the game seem to be the most fascinating. Some exploration into the depths of the University involves your best tools. The mechanics are simple. They are accurate (sometimes too accurate).

I tried to give it a shot but I gave up after the tremendous amounts of texts and bugs that would made me fall off the map and lose all my progress.

https://youtu.be/pgiTNkBuLZA Horror based on mystery suffers when the player is kept out of the loop for motivations of both the protagonist and antagonist for far too long.

I do not recommend this game. As i'm sure this was a labor of love for someone, I find it uneventful and lacking any real story. There are much better things to play. Dont waste your time.

Thank you to the developer 3D2 Entertainment and publisher Nkidu games inc. for creating a good atmospheric, puzzle platformer for me to escape, explore and enjoy. After decades of gaming i think my favorite genre is story driven/ puzzle adventure games. Games like the Talos Principle, Hob, Q.U.B.E. to name just a few of the dozens I have completed and The Crows Eye fits perfectly into that library. I would argue it's more of a platformer than puzzle game but it’s strong atmosphere, AAA voice…

An obsessive fondness for block puzzles and placing objects in particularily odd spots in what is essentially peoples natural blind spot (Namely, up) can make this game a bit (Read: incredibly frustrating). The musical score is a fairly lovely, and the voice acting isn't bad (Though, you'll likely get a Dime-Store-Joker Vibe off one character). Not my cup of tea in the end.
