Overview This side-scrolling puzzle/story game has amazing and unique art style. The gameplay is very simple, but the story about a dog trying to find its owner that has passed away, may bring a tear to your eye (my dog Quilly passed away last year, so this game doubly struck a chord with me). Overall I recommend it, if $4 (or regional equivalent) is not a big deal to you, since it is a very short game. I clocked in at 30 minutes only for the playthrough and the rest is idling for trading…

Short version: 55% Don’t Disturb is a wonderful art project about mourning and Chinese folklore, packed into a very short game with mild puzzle elements and a bad translation. Long version: Don’t Disturb is more ofa narrative-focused animated film than a 2D puzzle adventure game, where we watch a short—and I mean very short, 15-20 minutes—tale about a dog who just lost its owner. The core element here is Chinese folklore about the afterlife, all shown in a unique art style that is both…

(Before I start, I would like to give a seizure warning, it does have two instances of flashing that comes unsuspected, lasting a few seconds) I bought Don't Disturb mostly based on the art and seeing the premise sealed the deal. In Don't Disturb, you explore traditional Asian views on the afterlife through the eyes of a dog searching for his/her owner. Accomponying you on your journey is a bird (I'm not sure if it has a specific name, but I have found birds are often seen as guides in the…

I deleted my first review as I though I was being harsh. Turns out I was being gracious! The gamne is broken, so broken. First attempt, I failed to find the last item for the first puzzle, my bad. So I restarted to go over again. Unable to interact with the entities required to complete the puzzle, so I restarted. Get to another part of the puzzle and images are vanishing from the screen, the screen is glitchy. It's just unplayable. Each time you encounter a bug and restart, another one rears…

My playtime: 1.1h (based on Steam, 2 playthroughs) Intro Despite being tagged as a puzzle game, Don't Disturb is an adventure game about a dog that is looking for its missing master. The gameplay is more like a point-and-click game except that you use a keyboard instead of a mouse to play the game. Pros: - 2 endings - Atmospheric music Cons: - Bug on loading a save - Poor translation - Load save button is hidden very well Should you buy this game? No. Although it's an ordinary…

Don't Disturb is a small sidescrolling adventure where you play a grieving dog in the afterlife. Nice art with Chinese and calligraphy influences. The puzzles are fine but easy. The writing is full of English mistakes but they don't detract too much. A bit short for the price at around 20-25 minutes for one playthrough but you're probably going to want to play twice. Delicate and touching.

Sorry. I cannot recommend this game at all, at any price, if you do not speak and read Chinese, and are not aware of, and accustomed to Chinese culture. Yes, there is the option to have the game text in English, but the translations are poor, and the Chinese characters in the background art (signs and such) do not translate, and will have no meaning for English-only players, while they may convey some lore or story importance to those who speak and read Chinese. No way for me to know, I do not…

I REALLY want to say that you definitely have to try this game, but I can't recommend it because of the short length. Its very unfortunate that this game is gorgeous to look at but only takes 10-15 mins to complete. The art style would more than likely make an impact in the gaming world but the story is just too short and the puzzles too simple to make it stand out. The ending may have an impact in regards to a pet's love and devotion for their owners (masters, whatever you'd like to call them)…

Don't Disturb is an emotional journey where a dog seeks for his owner who just passed away. It's a cute game, but to me doesn't worth the asked price. Even without knowing the game, you need around 15mn to finish it and there are a couple of bugs that causes to slow down your progression. The English translation is ok, but some part aren't translated and the text changes so quickly that you don't have the time to read everything. I advice you to either get it in a really cheap bundle or to…

A very very short "walking simulator" sort of game made in 2D line art (Ink drawing) from the old Japanese style (yes, Japanese style not Chinese here) and even though the game is using a Chinese story background for hell and all that (also similar to the Japanese tales but different).. and erm... the game's website link on steam here linked to some kid's facebook? To start it off; The art style was lovely. But the animation was... Well, lacking. In the running animation it was a lot of "sliding", as it's called when the character moves either faster or slower than the background/surrounding area shows. The trot was the same thing at some places. But the walking was pretty and fitting to the art style. As someone who has animated canines, it was a bit off putting, but that might just be me. I also got stuck at one point and the only button I could…

How far will you go to find the ones you love? Don't Disturb is a short but heartfelt puzzle game about a dog whose aging owner has passed away. But he will still follow her to the ends of the Earth, even beyond. Explore the Japanese afterlife as you search for your departed owner. Pick up clues, talk to the dead, and assist troubled souls until you finally catch up with her. After that, it's up to you how the story ends. First of all the game is really really short you finish the game complettly in 30min. There is nothing more to it as what you see inside the trailer. If this worries you and you think 2-4$ is to much for it, then better don`t buy it. The game is a short and nice expierence for the story, the few puzzle elements inside are not really worth to mention. There are very simple and les. I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

Very short (15-30 minutes total) walking sim, minor puzzles, 2 endings. Pros: beautiful art, interesting theme. Cons: dismal English translation (typos etc.), maybe just bad writing. 6/10 - enjoyable. After reading about twenty of the top reviews, I knew what I'd be getting into - something potentially quite buggy, with a very poor English translation, but with beautiful art. Still, for the £0.26 I paid (during a sale), I thought this was worth a shot. First of all - yes, the art is gorgeous,…

The story is very brief.  The plot of this game is a bit rushed, lacking the necessary foreshadowing. This makes the reunion between the dog and grandmother in the later part lack the emotional impact it should have. I admire other players for writing long reviews on this game, and humans are better than AI at writing nonsense. The art style of the game is traditional Chinese, but the author added some letters that do not fit in with the background. These letters have no meaning and look…

It's a 10-minute short game where you play as a dog in an underground world, where the dead are lined up waiting for their next life. All you do is move left and right, press Space to get the dog digs up dirt for coins. The reason I’m giving it a negative rating is that the game freezes after the dog is given a flower. Besides, while the art style is okay, the random background decorations and content are not.

Don't Disturb is a simple 2D adventure game where you guide a Chinese dog through the afterlife in search of a dead master. Certainly a whimsical and sad topic for a game, and the artwork itself is tasteful if simplistic (but on-message, so that's ok I guess). The problems with this game really are just that it might as well be a browser/Flash game, it's very simplistic and doesn't take any advantage of the PC gaming platform, and the plethora of technical problems, some of which spring from…

I really appreciated the art-style and the main idea about a dog looking for a lost master. But the story was ridiculously short and basically shallow. The puzzles and riddles were just too easy to solve. To be honest I have spent more time figuring out how to run the game on my linux machine than with the game itself. The content to price ratio is just too unfavorable in comparison to other games around, especially if you consider that significant portion of the art is shown already in the…

This is a really brief game with some fetch- and collect-type puzzles set to some neat art. Some of the scenes don't mesh well with the style or look unfinished, though. The English text suffers from similar issues. For as short and uneven this little story is, you'd be fine skipping this one.

A very short, wholesome game. You are a dog. Your human, grandma, passes away and you chase after her to the afterlife. The music is lovely and I really liked the Ink wash painting, or Sumi-E, Japanese art style. However, between the awkward and sometimes incomprehensible translation, to a bunch of tiny bugs + an easily encountered softlock, that's a hard ask. A painting style similar to ink painting, light light music, a simple but warm story, are enough to move people to tears, and we will finally learn to say goodbye. The psychology of most Chinese people towards myths, especially hell and reincarnation, is very complicated. A short, but wonderful game about a dog that wants to find it's dead owner in the world of the dead. You're given several puzzles that can only be solved by properly exploring the world you found yourself in. The game is fluent, beautiful, traditional and in a way probably really helpful to cope with grief. For the asking price, this is very much worth it, despite the short gameplay time. Don't Disturb is a short, interactive art piece. The drawings and animations are very pretty, and the story -- that of a dog following his owner into the afterlife -- is very sweet. Unfortunately, it is marred by technical problems: ugly (and inconsistent) fonts; a broken save system; and at least one game-breaking bug. If I hadn't gotten stuck in a loop and had to start over again, I would have been done with this game in 20 minutes.

Far too short of a game to give a detailed review, but overall it was okay. The art style is unique and could definitely have an impact on the gaming world, but there are too many plot holes and the game is too short. I enjoyed playing it, but I think before I could recommend it to anyone it'd have to be worked on a lot.

Nice art style, sweet story idea. VERY buggy. (saves and certain interactions) game is about 10-20 minutes of gameplay steam needs a .. "meh" rating.

It is a shame this game is not longer but it tells its story well. It is pleasant to play, a treat for the senses and contains puzzles not detracting from the flow of the tale and yet still fun to solve. I have not encountered any bugs and enjoyed myself, and I played some much more expensive games I could not say the same about.
