It's now called The Ditch. Strangerville is the neighbouring town and is called Malterre in my game. All them horses? Dead. Displaced. 1/?

It's basically a game where you move your group of survivers around a large map. Scavenge food and items, meanwhile trying to get to an airport for instance. The mood setting is quite good. The gameplay is... blah... The combat part of the game is what disappoints me the most, this needs to be reworked or revisited somehow, the current system isn't that fun. When reaching the…

Displaced: ~~~~~~~~ Not so long ago, Clermont was a stunning city with high rise buildings everywhere. Majestic parks, gardens and venues. It's a proof of concept of a possibly great game, that has never been developed. Encounters and treasure sites look like placeholders. If another group accepts a peaceful resolution, they always have a kitten with them, which makes everyone relaxed. Never a dog, never a kid, never a smile, just a kitten for the 15th time. There are just 3 treasure sites, that you…

It's like opening a can of your fave drink, only to find out 90% of it is gone! The 10% of the drink (well err game) seems good enough - it is just unfinished in my opinion. The choices you make dont seem to do much, the encounters are all the same (you find some place to explore, its a gas station. Cool. Oh next place... is also a gas station. Alright. OMG ANOTHER GAS STATION! They…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My short experience with Displaced left be best describing it as (1) a choose-your-own-adventure game, (2) with some exploration elements when on the map/travel screen, and (3) a (very light) auto-combat system largely tied to its light take on inventory management. It is unlikely to satisfy anyone looking for deep strategy, but it does a fair job at making your choices matter, and telling bite-sized narratives that succeed in their emotional impact: very human stories in a country ravaged by…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not expect to like the game as much as I did, before I knew it 2 hours went by and I was still captivated with the story and my little group of survivors. In Displaced you have to survive the war zone and escape the country. At the start of the game you get to pick your group of 5 survivors, each with their own skill set. You have to move through the country, scavenge for food, fight, hide, explore and make difficult choices along the way. It reminded me of the game “This War of Mine” a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought Displaced heavily discounted for around 1 euro. Due to its many problems I won't recommend it. The music is boring, the dialogues and battles are quite repetitive and a few of the achievements (e.g. the one about part 3) are bugged/broken. The game surely looks unfinished! That said, I decided to play it for a few hours in order to unlock most of the heroes/survivors. So, I think that there is some replayability value, if different characters are picked during each new playthrough.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Displaced is an unfinished game that is billed as a full release. I played through the tutorial that had no tutorials in it, and after clicking on the screen a bunch (seemingly the only gameplay in the game) I had an event pop-up saying I had found a farm which I had decided to rob for some reason. The farmers ambushed me and put a gun to my head, the other following close by with a shotgun. The options given at that point seemed contradictory to say the least, I had could say "Hey we're…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Displaced is extremely repetitive and boring. I've played and enjoyed games similair to this, but this does nothing quite right in this game genre. Boring story, boring characters, boringly repetitious fights and lame missions don't make a good game. There is absolutely nothing challenging or entertaining about Displaced. I feel ripped off and I only paid .99 for this pile. Avoid
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hoo boy guys, this game is bad. Like horribly bad. It's not worth your money. I can't put it any better than I did in my video about it. So here that is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-USTKzAKcs8
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plays like a healthy mix of the original Fallout games and This War of Mine. At 6 dollars this is a challenging and grim game. I honestly lost sleep over my team nearly being killed off by wolves. Before that the group fought like a well oiled machine of justice for hire. The ragtag assembly of just normal folk turned into a tight if volitile band of mercenaries. All but two died to wild animals in the end. This game makes you play through your tragedy. You can't travel back in time and save…

E.g. - when resting, the game will not pause so that you can cook a meal when your people get hungry (which tend to cause everyone to starve to death, despite having loads of food).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game with great potential! Let's wait next updates.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a hard one because it's a good concept, a modern Oregon Trail, and the price is really low. However, it's just so boring, but the price is really low. Get it on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lack of strategy, lack of anything really. Just some text on a low res background. There's like 6 different events and they just happen over and over. Supplies are abundant. No real threat, just kill everyone you see. Sometimes inventory info flickers on screen until you quit and relaunch or sell the item that's flickering. The game pauses on focus loss [alt tab], no option to disable it. Sometimes you keep clicking the map and nothing happens. If you win a fight and leave something in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What is slightly annoying is that one cannot save the game. But the game lasts not much more than an hour or more. The events that require choices are predictable after playing a few times. Nonetheless, it is quite a fun game and replayable. 7/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Displaced is an unfinished, unpolished game, with close to no tutorials where your main objective is to click around a non-intuitive, almost non-interactive interface.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →try to describe common people during the war, but not successful. There is no way to get the end but not kill anyone (you need to collect goods, but you would always be founded by others and must fight...and kill others. Are they really just bank accounter or police instead of warriors? In a word, they use a war as background, but they did not decribe the people well.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is just plain awful. The music is repetitve, to the point I had to mute it for the sake of my sanity. The characters have litle to no back story, and will die or go insane for no real reason. Things can go from good to bad at the drop of a hat, with no warning or reason. The graphics are 500 shades of grey, and the images in the events look like clip art, and not good clip art either. I cannot play this game for more than five to ten minutes, without wanting to scream in fustration. I…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost terrible. Nice idea: A classic narative RPG about war. Thematically it reminds me of another game about surviving war. Bad execution. The good: A couple of decent stories. The achievements and the character unlocks are not terrible. Value for money is ok. Slow. Boring. Reapetative. Mediocre dialogues. Crashes on a few occasions. Needs work. Only for paper RPG fans.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abolutley horrible. Graphics are amateurish at best. Sound is all garbled. Got to the 3rd part of the tutorial and the game locked up on me. Went to join a game, and no servers found. What a joke. Don't waste a penny on this garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1)On the one hand characters die in 3 days without food. On the other they can defeat 5 soldiers armed to the teath with bare hands. 2) "Please sir i have to eat another bear" syndrome
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey there, I streamed this out of curiousity and really liked it. The game relies on your reaction to events more than the characters (You don't hear from them unless they're stressed which is a nice reminder that you aren't paying attention). Most of my runs started off with me being aggressive and then being really timid due to losing a few people. I was worried about the stress factor at first, but it turned out to be a lot easier to deal with than I expected. The random events repeat but…

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful game. Avoid it at all costs even if it's on sale for less than $1. The pool of events is tiny and they repeat themselves over and over and over again and always have the same outcome. My first playthrough attempt ended in a CTD and I wasn't able to continue my save. My second playthrough attempt ended with a bug that caused everyone to starve to death when resting. Terrible broken, unplayable garbage. Full video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqQ25RKR0XQ
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too many bugs to be playable. Good concept though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, 2nd level is a bit tough on the whole "Get hungry while you sleep thing." Solid buy for the price, anyway.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Then [Bo French, a former Republican county chairman] reposted the same image and added that social media is “exposing how many Americans have been displaced by foreigners.” “Displaced.” “Foreigners.” About American college students at an American university celebrating an American football game.
unlabelledView post →Mechanically similar to The Oregon trail on a conceptual level. But, too many choices that seem irrelevant. A weird delay for some choices, and a harsh system of survival that feels like it exists because they forgot to implement a better way to find food.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alternatively it was real, the outside world, but Hometown was cut off on a metaphysical level in some sort of exclusionary zone. Displaced from time and space for the game to exist. Stuff like this is why I enjoy showing and not telling, though, even reality can become unreal in some cases.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the concept is admirable, there is little substance behind Displaced. The bare story does not have enough emotional punch to embody the themes it is going for. Many of the same gameplay events repeat countless times and can be more or less successfully solved in the same way. The one redeeming factor is the art, which does have a bleak but beautiful quality to it, but it's just not enough to make up for the flaws. I had high expectations for Displaced because it was released by the same…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a good game but very flawed. Here are my thoughts: 1. It was refreshing to once again play a game where you are an ordinary surviving trying to survive a war much like This War of Mine. 2. I liked the simplicity of having to simply find a way out of the country which is still very high-stakes when there is a war happening. 3. The game felt ambitious in that it didn't rely heavily on combat. I felt the concept of being a refugee was strong enough. 4. Graphics were good enough…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worked fine the first gameplay, seems like a good game. The next 5 gameplays the hunger reaches starving in 1 second, makes it completely unplayable, they starve to death before they can even try to rest.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a game that goes for the concept of a small group of survivors during a war trying to get out as unscratched as possible out of said war. The concept itself may be solid enough, but unfortunately, it has not been done well here; the game's something of a... Bone with not enough meat on it; there's not as much content as there really should be here, I feel. Mind you, what content there is in the game is reasonably good though. But there are other games with similar themes/concept as this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple and repetitive quests, same messages (for each meeting with another group when you greet them, a kitten pops up from one of the other group member's jacket and it defuses the tension; seems like in this game everybody carries kittens - its fun first time when it happens, but not every freaking encounter). The game has potential, but is under-designed and seems unfinished or finished in a hurry. Btw, picking escaping by boat, in the end crashes the game. Always.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks and feels unfinished. The atmosphere feels great and your imagination wants to fill in the blanks, but the more you play, the more you get disappointed. The music is okay, the world occurrences are varied enough but the inventory and combat system are abysmal.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's budget "This War of Mine". If you're a fan of this genre its decent for the price. Get it on sale and on sale ONLY.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Barely even a game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has potential, I can't call this a game, it feels like a demo or proof of concept. If this had gotten bug fixes, balanced, etc. This could have been a good game, feels like a dumbed down sort of mix between This War of Mine and Neo-Scavenger. Inventory Management and Looting needs work. Combat is based on some sort of random luck and makes no sense at all on how it works, first fight I got in 3 of my survivors were limping away and a gust of wind could kill them. Character stats…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game at all, i really don't ujnderstand the mixed reviews. For the price and content it is ok, i mean it is nothing great but it seems pretty cool game and the dev/ devs deserve some kinda respect for making the game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Displaced comes up with a nice idea which wasn't executed very well. It's bugged, and gameplay soon becomes repetitive. But with some improvements it could have become a great survival game. I leave a positive review in hope that someone will pick up this concept and create a similar game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nope! Just dont buy it. The idea is that you start with a group of survivors in the middle of a country destroyed by war, trying to find you way out reaching a port or an airport. During your jurney you meat other groups of citizens, journalists, bandits etc, and you decide how to interact with them. So you expect something beautiful, right? Nope!! The game is doesn't worth your time, no more than few minutes (waiting for a phone-call for example), even if you got the game for free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What happens when one side only wants war and you have fight back and military thinks well you know we just kill you all off because stupid fighting got to boiling point. More to point where everyone couldn't get along and now more of fact life can't get to normal. Sadly I don't think if this based in reality but if does there could been more zombies and biological weapons in play. Like: game time and use was easier then another one. Dislike: took while figure out how use fight interface…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very minimalistic, lack of variation of choice- most give almost same outcome. I was expecting the character interaction to have at least some difference on each other to give a little bit of life for the character rather than just being a cutboard character for the game, like different dialouge for them, different interaction, what would happen if I pair ex cop with a thug? Would they fight because their different ideology in the past? But no, none of those happen, shame. Other than that? I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, this is a survival game based in a war torn region. On the surface I wanted to like this game, the price was good and it sells itself as pretty interesting. If you like survival management games, with scavenging and combat aspects-then this is up your alley. Now, is it perfect? No. For the asking price you get what you get, which in my opinion is alot. But, there are draw backs. Like, the combat system is lacking. The random scavenging encounters become very predictable based on…
