49 of 49 · most liked firstEscape Doodland The peaceful creatures/doodles that inhabit Doodland are under the siege of a huge and relentless monster, a city-wrecking mammoth of destructive nature burning their homeland. Just like the rest of his townspeople our odd and slightly annoying critter-like protagonist is set on escaping the hungry jaws of this pursuing giant, but are the outside lands he's escaping into really much safer than the destruction of the city left behind? Through thickets, jungles filled with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: It's fartastic. Escape Doodland is a challenging sidescrolling platformer & auto-runner in awesome doodle art environment inhabited by doodle art characters. In Escape Doodland you're trying to escape a monster running, jumping, swimming, flying and farting. Yes, farting. Farting can stun the monster behind you for a short time and thus increase your lead. Using matchsticks collected in the levels you can also light your farts for a forward or upward boost. Farting naturally is limited,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Escape Doodland is a quirky and bizarre little 2D platformer that sets the bar high for others in its genre. Its hand drawn illustrations filling each scene give it a very unique aesthetic that is sure to keep players coming back for more. The gameplay itself is also quite good. As to be expected its very hectic and fast paced, yet it also manages to keep things interesting level after level and it achieves this through its large diversity of scenes with changing mechanics, colours, monsters…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I suppose if you have the patience of a saint, you may like this. But for normal people, it's a highly irritating, precision jumping game. The graphic style won't be to everyones taste either.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a short, but great Platformer game within the Auto-runner genre. Challenging at times, sometimes unfair because of bad game design — I don't think it's tested well enough — but overall the type of game that suits me perfectly. Then why am I recommending against it?! I had plans to nail this game, but which rewards are left when you [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/670930/discussions/0/1742229167215548817/]can't make any progress any further, technically spoken (not to mention the lack…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unresponsive controls, and yes I tested a modern gamepad.... Have to buy stuff(like matches) out of the store? Why not just let people progress in the game, no it's just a trick to make the game last even longer. OK, the game was listed as hardcore. But hardcore does not mean unfair level design and unresponsive controls. Have a nice day !
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea that you have an option to buy matches and other stuff in the game is disgraceful.BTW you will have tough time without the items that you CAN buy. When you port a game to PC get rid of these stupid things.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An endless runner game with a very different, fun art style. Recommended for people that want to experience something, above all, visually striking and distinct. Gameplay is acceptable, it controls well enough and provides a decent challenge. Miscellaneous thoughts: - The game has 10 levels, with 2 difficulty levels. The fun of the game comes from replaying levels and trying to get all collectables/not die. You probably won't beat a level on your first try, most of the difficulty comes from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most criminally overlooked games on Steam IMO. This game’s presentation is stellar in every regard - graphics, music, sound design... hell, even the menus and post level screens have great style. The backgrounds are bustling with cool little things - I’m always noticing something new. Plus, the 10 levels are extremely diverse. It’s amazing that a game this killer was produced by a two person development team. This game reminds me of Wormster Dash in that you’re basically…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →noooooo pay full price and pay again in store to unlock next levels? Hard pass
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although the art style and music are funny and the whole game is very upbeat, I did not enjoy playing Escape Doodland because of the quirky controls that feel very imprecise. Actually, I can't remember ever having played an auto-runner that was enjoyable...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When Doodland - a peaceful land is attacked by a monster, its inhabitants are escaping to save lives. We control one of them, trying to escape and to overcome obstacles. It's not going to be easy even with tools and help available in the game. Great art style and animations. Beware - it's extremaly addictive :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, Escape Doodland is a really cool game. It's a side scrolling platform runner where you are chased by a monster. The only problem, for me anyway, is it's really hard! I must confess though, I'm not very good at these type of games so don't read too much into my inability to complete the first level. Once I started dying at parts I was originally getting past easily I decided it was time to end the video. Pity, it has a really fantastic world and I loved the whole feel of it. Maybe one day…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanna start the review off by applauding the incredibly fun and interesting art style of the game. Frame for frame there's always something happening in the background that is incredibly interesting and entertaining to view while you make your way through the game. Moving from there to the gameplay. At it's core it's an endless runner platformer. I didn't realize that it was an endless runner until I actually played it. I went into the game expecting fast paced Super Meatboy like gameplay.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game - it's beautiful, it's fun, it's unique. But it is broken as much. I just completed all levels, so I think I can talk about its flaws: 1. Game is very hard. I get it, some games are hard and I love challenges. But it is very hard from the very first level and imagine just how hard it gets. If it was just difficulty, I wouldn't mind much, but hard and broken game? It's torture at some point. 2. Mechanics are broken and developer abandoned the game. They were active - as per…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Escape Doodland is yet another of several hundred, if not thousands of garbage low effort endless runners plaguing Steam. It's a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. Like all endless/autorunners, you're moving and you can't stop. All you can do is avoid the obstacles/jump across the platforms coming at you in this incredibly shallow shovelware game. Sure, on one…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Escape Doodland has a cool artstyle, controls well and is a heck of a lot of fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game. You run forward automatically, so just focus on where to jump next. At the beginning it was very hard but after some try, or just exit and play it the next day, things get easier. A fun and challenging game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Might be an ok game but it doesn't work for me. I can't collect the green beans you need for unlocking later levels so I can only play the 1st level over and over. Judging by the discussions there are other people with the same problem as me but the devs are unable to work this out. Such a shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not played much but can already say that is awesome! I love this art style!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 - it's okay Achievements are broken though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I earned this game from shybear a great and awesome twitch streamer <3 the game is fun but difficult but thats what makes it awesome <3 good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome! It's been a long time since I played something so extremely difficult and didn't lose my motivation to continue. The art styl is unique. Music is great and I really loved that sometimes player can hear some "mystic" tones instead of "funny and fast" melodies playing all the time. Sound effects reminded me about Rayman Origins, but it's not bad. The only con: the game seems extremely short and most of the time player will spend running the same locations.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of fun and a very imaginative concept :D Reminds me of the fun platform games I grew up playing. Some funny comedy elements and achievements in it as well. I loved the art style and the noises and music fit perfect. Nothing really to dislike apart from I died a lot, but that gave me an achievement ;) Worth buying if you want a fun and addictive game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great runner styled game. Comical sounds and music to match. Recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a great game, a true gem. Sweet graphics, beautiful music and very enjoyable gameplay! If you like farts and super meat boy you will definitely like this game! PS. Good luck in level 7
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game, creative implementation of known mechanics, responsive character control, magical and marvelous visual setting. See that the game was created with passion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty simple yet very entertaining game in my opinion. Difficulty is awesome. Time spent playing it was definitely worth it. I hear this game made it to switch, which I think is well deserved.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Escape Doodland, developed by fluckyMachine and published by Ultimate Games S.A., is a fast-paced side-scrolling runner-platformer that immediately distinguishes itself through its hand-drawn visual identity and irreverent sense of humor. At first glance, the game resembles a living sketchbook, as though someone’s notebook doodles suddenly burst into motion. However, beneath its playful and chaotic exterior lies a surprisingly demanding arcade experience built around reflexes, memorization, and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indifferent towards it The gameplay is simple, the controls are okay enough. It's like playing subway surfers, but with an doodle artstyle instead, except there is an actual goal at the end of each level. The idea behind the power-ups are good enough and the core mechanic is easy to understand and get into. This game is designed pretty decently, so I'm just chalking it down being not for me. I just didn't personally have any fun with it, but that's probably more of a preference, than actual…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I own this on switch, so I have a longer play time than what it shows. It's an entertaining silly running game. And it's on sale for 1 dollar. Worth.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8/10 GRAFIKA ORAZ DŹWIĘKI Grafika w Esape Doodland to chyba główny selling point. Dźwięki mają odpowiednia dozę "kreskówkowości" a muzyka świetne pasuje do całej reszty(aczkolwiek ilość utworów jest dość ograniczona i często zdarzyło…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommended for those who enjoy endless running platformers and if on sale. This is a gem. It may look rough with its hand drawn art, excessive fart jokes and silly characters, but it is a blast to play... if you don't mind dying over and over. With that in mind, the levels are really great in that they contain a constant variety of themes and obstacles to keep the game interesting all the way until the end. My biggest concerns are the price in comparison to the short play time (2+…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Welcome to Doodland. Run, fart, jump, fly, scale and buy upgrades, do everything to not let Omnomous the terror of the entire Doodland to eat you. Also you can fall to your death ,get eaten or get knocked around by other Doodland critters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this on from a bundle and though it'd probably mehh... Gave it a try anyway though. I think this ended up being much more entertaining than I thought. This game is purely the "runner", no surprises there so - don't expect anything else. But along with being simple enough it was quite fun, the silly character and atmosphere were interesting enough, about half of the levels are not too hard to pass but the rest of the game is for the more patient folks. There are also plenty of achievements…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Difficult, but fun! Similar runner concept as Geometry Dash or The Impossible Game but with doodle-style graphics. I'd consider this a bit of a rage game at times. You'll be replaying the same levels multiple times. Buy it on sale.
