I've always been an avid fan of Tonguc Bodur and his walking sims even after he started removing users from his friends list after which he added a cryptic message on his profile as an explanation. His walking sims always seemed interesting in terms of graphics, narrative and special mention goes to the soundtrack. Now, the "phile" series later on proved to be much shorter and he also released a horror game. I appreciated some of these experiments where it was clear that he moved from the…

I have always enjoyed Tonguc Bodur's games and have played all of them. This title is quite a departure from the peaceful, beautiful journeys experienced in his other games. If we view dreams as unrelated bursts from our mind, then Lucid Cycle does an admirable job of capturing this. It is a collage of short scenes that are all different in terms of the visual style and game play. Some sequences are easy (cross an area to a portal) and others are more time consuming (eliminate objects in an…

Great indie game with wonderfull dream levels, the visuals are sometimes breathtaking. In every stage, there is something different to do, which is nice to figure out and doing it. The game runs fluid and has a good handling. All in all, i had good 1,5 hours.

My favourite game of Tonguç Bodur <3 It was really fun to play. Lucid Cycle confused me all the time, but in a pretty good way^^ I felt like Alice in Wonderland :3

This game is absolutely amazing. A hidden gem actually! Shame this one got thrown under the rug. It's on the level for Edith Finch for me as a walking sim, honestly. - The music is actually really good. Especially that first dream track; catchy af! - The graphics are also really good, even at medium (kinda have to have it on that due to it being way too graphic intense on high for my GPU not to get hot). - Game is trippy af generally but also really fun at the same time. Enough of a good…

Alright. Lucid Cycle is done and dusted. This was a very unique approach from Tonguc as far as how the game is presented while still offering the familiarity of one of his walking simulators, which are some of the best out there. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3240624531 Most notably, the story is both layered and very nuanced. I think the ending tells you what the final message is, but it evolves on the way there. To me, it goes as follows: First, dreams are often…

Do you have strange dreams? Bet they aren't as strange as the ones you'll experience in Lucid Cycle. Each wave left me amused, confused, and curious to see what is next. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Recommended for those of you who like walking sims, but do try and play this sober. Lucid Cycle is enough of a trip all by itself.

I've been a fan of Tonguç Bodur now for quite a while. I find his slow-paced games relaxing and visually stimulating. His creations are often of an introspective nature, exploring life and the inner self. He is the meditating person's game developer. "Lucid Cycle" is described as a series of short dream-like experiences. Exploration with minor puzzle elements. It takes around two hours to play through the game, which saves after every dream scene. Apart from a cat, you share your small…

[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/9686972/]Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this! This developer is known for making short, low-effort walking simulators. I have not enjoyed any of their previous games. This game has a notably different style from their previous games, but I still did not enjoy it. The game consists of a series of short, weird tech demos. Every few demos, you wake up in an apartment and a robot interprets one of your dreams.…

Lucid Cycle is a bunch of Unreal Marketplace assets shoved in a blender and arranged into a kind of first person adventure/walking sim. If the screenshots and visuals look pretty good in this game, it's because the "developer" had nothing to do with them, which also explains why they look so mismatched, some detailed, some lazy/low poly, etc. So we've established you can take the Unreal Engine, and throw your credit card at the Unreal Marketplace (it's a fun game matching all the store…

overall: -------- Feels like 1st-time-wannabe-developer's 1st test projects in UE/Unity bundled into 1 "game". It's extra-MEH. I know this developer made multiple games (I own most of them), but this sure feels like test games prototypes compilation. I played some walking simulator games and some trippy games and I liked some of them. So it's not like I can't appreciate good abstract game art. This is just mediocre at best. It really feels like someone trying new game engine features learned…

DISCLAIMER: I know my playtime appears as 0.1 hours, but I had to play Lucid Cycle in offline mode because the "synchronizing with the cloud" step in launching the game kept freezing. For me, at least, it truly was an achievement to open the main menu successfully. I trust, though, that the contents of my review will make it plain that I did play the game in its entirety. Lucid Cycle is a game where you dream, paint, and talk about your dreams, except all the painting happens off screen. The…

I have played a few other of this devs game, and this was the best so far in my opinion. The controls are very smooth, the music is super soothing, the game play is strange and confusing - but I think thats what works for it. This game is def not for everyone - its floaty with no true sense of story - but leaves a lot to interpret. Sometimes it leaves you a bit unsure if you are doing the right thing and which direction you should be going

I'm not the kind of person to turn my nose up at a short weird walking simulator. Paratopic is one of my favorite games. But if you're going to do this, don't make the entire thing a collection of asset flips (or bits that spiritually feel like asset flips) thrown together into "surreal" bits that don't have any vibe or lasting impression. There is not a single image, scene or moment I would look at after playing this and think "oh yeah, that looks like Lucid Cycle." Pure gruel.

Odd but refreshing title by Bodur, perchance even the top of his. First of all graphics look excellent and all limits of Unreal Engine is tested without doubt. The game itself is more like a testing presentation dressed into a dream collage of an artist and has actually a pretty ending as well referencing to another Bodur game Pluviophile. One thumb up from me. Of course one mandatory plus that we need to always praise: EASY ACHIEVEMENTS!!! !!! !! !! eASy AchiEvEMentS... rEAlLy if you want…

Lucid Cycle is a short game about dreams obviously and funnily enough it's also a great game to fall asleep. Developer Tonguç Bodur comes up with a new game every 2 months or so and honestly some of those games are pretty interesting while others feel rushed. Lucid Cycle belongs to the latter. All games he has developed consists of bought assets, which is not a big issue as long as the game is interesting. There certainly are some beautiful and interesting parts in the game but using the…

This is not really a game, it feels more like a weird and relaxing journey with some light puzzle elements ... You play a cycle of dreams. I do like the art and vision the dev has put into it, this is not the first game I played by this dev and this is one of his better ones. I would recommend, just for the form of art. At a sale you will not pay too much either. *Playtime 1 to 2 hours*

Probably the most creative game from this dev. It's mostly just a collection of dreams though, it has little to no story. But it has a bit more gameplay than usual, also some puzzle elements. And the hardest achievement in any video game.

Lucid Cycle is a walking sim played out in a series of short vignettes, each one capturing the ethereal nature of dreams. It is an odd and slightly disconcerting experience, leaving me feeling a little uncomfortable as I pass from one location to the next, never quite sure what is going to be awaiting me and never feeling in control of my fate. Kinda like dreams, I guess. Recommended.

As of finishing this game, I have played all of Tonguc Bodur's games. I love these games and this one just may be my favorite. There is just the right amount of relaxation, using your noodle, and strategy in this one. I can't wait for the next game. Would love to be a beta tester for future games.

Lucid Cycle was a fun game. It showed that puzzles don't have to be difficult if the scenery is beautiful and the story is moving along. One of the best if not the best offerings Tonguç Bodur has given us yet. His artwork never disappointments, and this game didn't either. Good job. EDIT: I'll add I wrote this review before I read the other reviews. I couldn't believe there were so many negative ratings. I don't think I have ever hated a game as much as this one. Here's why: - it's incredibly boring, I literally fell asleep while playing it, multiple times. - there is no story or narratibe to this game at all, you make your way though a number of dream sequences, wake up, splosh a bit of paint on a canvas and repeat - all of the sequences make you feel like you are on acid, they are painful to look at - the "mini games" you have to complete in the dream sequences are AWEFUL! You don't know…

A really fun and charming surreal experience. I'm so glad these kinds of thoughtful and relaxed experiences exist. It really captures the feel of being in a dream. There are a few instances where there are game "rules" instead of just exploring the scenes, and at times these can be a little stressful --but the game elements are only brief moments and worth pushing through. Even those "game" moments still feel very well integrated into the dream feel of the entire thing. I found the experience…

It's literally a game of dreaming, where each stage of the dream we live in a different universe, with distinct gameplays. I loved all the atmospheres, I felt myself in one of David Lynch's movies, where I felt joy, relief and even fear at times. I was so involved that I forgot to take screenshots, so maybe I'll play again to do that (?)

4/10 Lucid Cycle is a walking simulator with platformer and puzzle elements. Play as a painter gaining inspiration from their dreams in this surreal and buggy experience. Unenjoyable and frustrating. Lucid Cycle is a set of “unique experiences” through the lens of a dreaming painter. You start asleep, go through two to three dreams in which you may be required to walk, solve puzzles, find hidden objects, or play a platformer, wake up, talk to your AI lamp that’ll overanalyze the dream of your…

this game is super bizarre .. its got surreal landscapes and a weirdly calm feeling you get in dreams where everything makes sense but doesn’t at the same time. I loved the atmosphere; it’s strange, peaceful, and unsettling all at once. Played this, slept, and had the strangest dream ever. Now I’m not even sure if I woke up or if I’m still in the game. 10/10

This might be the strangest Tonguç Bodur game to date. It's mostly just a bunch of short experiences mashed together into one game. It has some nice moments in it and I like some sections, and other sections I don't like so much. Overall I think the positives outweigh the negatives for walking simulator fans, but not by much. Pick this up on sale if you're on the fence.

This was quite the experience. It really did feel like dreams in how bizarre and varied the landscapes and scenarios were. A couple of parts took some time to figure out, but it was all worth it in the end. The cat made the game 1000% better. This was a wonderful experience that was well worth the price. I love how you did the achievement for this one. It's all about the journey and the experience, and I enjoyed the experience.

Wow. I hated this. Lucid Cycle is one of those Steam Sale impulse purchases I really didn't think about. I saw the pictures, didn't look any more into it and added it to my wishlist. But Lucid Cycle was **so** bad that I'm going to start vetting my games a lot more moving forward. I am going to support fewer indie developers as a direct result of this game and I feel really bad about that, but also I don't want to give money to projects that have less than bare minimum effort. I've tried a couple of walking sims by this developer, but this one is an oddity for sure. You start in dream, then you enter another dream, and another.. then you wake up. You do a couple of tasks, then back to sleep to dream some more. The dreams are vastly different (honestly how do they come up with this? it's wild), varying between gorgeous scenes to just plain fever dream compilations. The music sets the tone very well. The bright lights are certainly bright though, so prepare your…

This was pretty interesting. I was a little confused in the beginning, but I think that's how you're supposed to feel. I like surreal games and this was pretty cool to interpret. I am appreciating the more difficult puzzles compared to Tonguç's last games and I think coming back to the apartment every so many sequences is good for pacing.
