Great horror game that translated well into VR! Beware, there are performance issues. I EXTREMELY recommend downloading the OpenVR FSR mod: https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr/releases This works for any Unreal Engine (that this game uses) and Unity game. All you do just is download the zip package, then locate the openvr_api.dll file in the game files: /steamapps/common/Blair Witch VR/Engine/Binaries/ThirdParty/OpenVR/OpenVRv1_5_17/Win64/ Then replace it with the one supplied in the ZIP…

'The Blair Witch' another great hype from my childhood that I can now experience in virtual reality! When the movie came out I was still a young teenager, and it was also the first time I experienced Dolby surround quality, man was that an experience for me, i'm sure many of you know what i mean. And now with the VR version of Blair Witch you can simply experience these effects through VR perspective as a character of the search. You can watch the first hour of gameplay here:…

Game starts out with an interesting atmosphere that you want to explore. As you go along though, it gets repetitive and the dog companion just doesn't stop barking. You can try and quiet him so you can explore a little more, but he never stops barking. Right path? Barking. Wrong path? Barking. Just trying to enjoy the area? Barking. It just ruins it for me.

Do you like taking long walks in the woods with your dog and occasionally wetting your pants in sheer terror? Well then, have I got the game for you! Ok, so this is kind of a mixed bag but it's a pretty good horror game for VR. Let's talk pros and cons: The Good: It's a pretty well-made game with great atmosphere. The first ~4 hours, in the woods, are about a 4/10 on the spookiness scale, atmospheric but nothing really scary, but the last ~2 hours, in the house, the spookiness gets cranked…

This devs have achieved the impossible: a game that runs poorly and looks awful at the same time. It's extremely unoptimized and very very very very blurry. Imagine the blurriest VR game you have ever played: this game will top it. After reading the Steam Discussions you will find that you can modify a .INI file in order to play with a much better resolution. The problem is that, if you increase the resolution, the game becomes unplayable even on a top tier GPU. I understand games VR games…

I bought this game after reading a lot of the positive reviews below, and after having loves games like Phasmophobia, Labyrinthine, The Forest, etc... I thought I'd give this a go. I will be frank. I was heavily disappointed by this game. TL;DR: Good story, interesting mechanics. Super short chapters ruin immersion with loading screens. ----------------------------------------- Firstly, I will say some good things. The Story. This has clearly had some work put into it. Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2 You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/VO4vf3yNyM4 I think the performance issues & the graphical fidelity issues are overstated in most of the reviews. Yes, there are performance issues and the game doesn't look as good as in pancake. However, on my RTX 3080 on high graphical settings, options, & resolution scalability almost set to the max, the game looked better than the vast majority of VR games and was running mostly from 75-90 frames…

I just finished the game and it took me around 4 hours to beat, i would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to play a decent vr campaign especially since its been so long since we had anything out there, it ran perfect on my valve index with very little to no bugs, also performance for me was fine nothing that made this game feel unplayable. glad i finally got a chance to play this

There is some game in this bug.... If you think that the scary part of this game is the witch, you are wrong...the most scary part is the hairless dog that disappear, appear in front of your face and float literally in the air...

Full disclosure: I was provided a review key by bloober team, I was not told to say anything positive but I feel that, the transparency is still important. That being said, I have played very little of this game thus far, however I do intend to attempt to play more, I finished the original game multiple times and feel it is a great horror game. The translation to VR however is awful. The controls are very poor and the game is just ugly as all hell even on the best settings. There is a…

The game was scary but the VR port itself wasn't so great near the end. Some of the puzzles near the end of the game are broken. They literally require you to carry the puzzle pieces from point a to b because if you let go of the pieces, they go into your inventory. The inventory system does not exist in the VR version, or rather, is not accessible in the VR version as it is not mapped out to any of the buttons on the VR controller, and you cannot map it in the settings menu. Better off…

𖤐𖤐𖤐𖤐𖤐 Loved the normal version so much that I had to play it in VR and I was not disappointed. The best VR horror experience I've ever had. There's something about walking through the woods in the dark and looking around with a flashlight that just feels so good in VR.

This game is 90% a walking simulator. It was only in the last chapter that I felt like I was actually playing a horror game, though after a few minutes, I realized I couldn't see anything anyway, so it didn’t matter much. The remaining 10% of "combat," "chases," and puzzles are really simple and easy—perhaps too easy. The VR features are mostly good, but the cutscenes are pre-recorded, so they’re not in VR, which feels really disappointing.

If I knew reachin the cabin on the hill would require this much walking, I'd brough a quad. The Blair Witch VR is mostly a walking simulator. So much walking. But that makes sense. You are in a forest looking for a missing kid after all. Together with your loyal dog Bullet you set out on a long hike to find a missing kid. It starts pretty mundane but it gets more and more twisted as it goes on. Its a great game, it gets into your mind and later on you will understand things aren't the way…

Loved the game in 2D, but the quality in VR is pretty bad. Shadows don't render correctly stereoscopically. If you turn them off, you'll play in bright daylight, in a lowpoly desert. Not a faithfull conversion of the great original title.

Looks amazing in VR ,very well optimized runs perfectly . When it comes to pros and cons the biggest strenght of this game is simultaneously its biggest flaw ,which is the cabin level ,it's scary the atmosphere is on point but it drags on and on and on and on...and on....and on to the point the scare factor wears out and it becomes tedious , this is the best example of something that is good but completly overstates its welcome ,that aside the overall experience is a one l will personally…

I really wanted to like this game and in the end I did somewhat, just not enough to give this a thumbs up. The game starts out well, but I soon realised the controls are not good, especially the rotation speed, at its max its still way too slow, making it cumbersome. I did like the mechanics of the items you carry with you, like the flashlight for example, you can pick it off your belt and point it with the controller in the darkness, that felt immersive. One of the few times I'm glad I didn't let a game's general negativity stop me from playing. Are there missing sequences from the OG? Yes. Is the performance bad? Yes. Is it mostly a walking simulator? All yes. But none of that matters. This was one of the most immersive VR games I've experienced since HL:Alyx. One of the few games you should 100% play if you own a VR headset.

What a game! Just finished and loved; probably my best VR experience. Everything is perfect and high quality: gameplay, story, atmosphere, actors, graphic, sounds and voices... I deeply liked everything and was amazed by light effects in a dark enviroinment (and I kept it quite dark). Always creepy but a few only jumpscares: it was all well balanced and never frustating or too frightening to quit. I played it sitting with no issue using Quest3, VIrtualDesktop, laptop equipped with a RTX3070.

To all horror junkies, this is a game you have to pick up without question. It's simply amazing. By two thirds into my first session I was starting to feel like the game was actively trying to drive me insane. Flashbacks, hallucinations, mind manipulation, nightmares... The Silent Hill Nature Walk I didn't know I wanted I had very low expectations of this game, but it surprised me. More of a character driven psychological thriller than a spooktastic jump scare fest, but it did have some great moments. Although short, it was effective. The story never dragged on, the puzzles and chapters made you explore around, but without the feeling of ever being "lost" with no direction. Petting a dog in VR is riveting, the environment is spooky, and the game doesn't feel like a typical flat screen game port. It feels like it was a VR driven project from the start. The entire game took me 4.4 hours to complete, so 30 bucks is a bit steep, i'd say if you are on the fence, wait for a sale, or if you are…

I finished the game after about 6 hours. It wasn't bad, although the vr implementation was technically very mediocre in parts. Performance is pretty poor (had to reduce a lot of settings), textures, lighting and levels of detail look like the 2d version on lowest settings, even when i play the vr version on highest settings. It's buggy, graphics could be better, the last chapter overstays it's welcome by a lot and the LOD distance is the worst i've seen in vr. So why do I recommend? It's comfy for the most part, the sound design is pretty damn good and most important, you feel like you're in a found footage film (one of the few types of movies I enjoy) save for a few sections that would not belong in a found footage title. I say when this is on sale, give it a go, you'll probably enjoy it.

To make things even look half decent with good LOD and not like a blurry wash, you HAVE to completely turn off antialiasing. I did run into a couple bugs in one instance Bullet the dog completely froze and refused to move no matter what I did, this required me to load up an earlier save to fix. The graphics were a little underwhelming but the game still manages to be immersive despite this.
