60 of 191 · most liked firstEXCELLENT.......as this happens to be one of those SteamVR games that too many people just don't give enough of a chance. I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews here from people who seem too quick to judge, and not enough to understand. We NEED games like this on Steam. Right now Steam is infested with too many "short experiences", or games that have a campaign of 2-3 hours at most. This developer seems to be taking this project seriously enough to warrant support. Yes, I do realize the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This will be the second time the developer has rushed to get out of early access with an unfinished game, if anything that should show you how the company and devs plan on treating their future projects. Monochrome, Inc has officially became 2020's Hammerpoint interactive. You remember them? Warz, Infestation, Infestation Stories, etc where they kept shipping out unfinished games and calling it good enough?.. You're the 2020 version of that. Edit: Another year has passed, still lacking most of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to have multiplayer in VR, they took it out and promised it would return... now they're saying they don't have the funds to add it again. Regretful purchase 10/10.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU OWN A VALVE INDEX. The grab sensitivity is so bad you will literally drop every item through out the entire game. To hold an hold just you will have to squeeze until you hear the plastic in the controllers cracking.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why on earth did you guys develop this game? It is nothing like the main Contagion game... of which everyone would've wanted from you guys.....??? I absolutelty see no reason why you guys had to develop this game when you could of had made a VR version of the main Contagion game with all its modes and multiplayer. Instead you guys made this game.... and "released" it in 2020 while it feels like an early VR game from 2017.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →STOP DOING THIS TO US! This is the second time you've abandoned a contagion project. Last game I'm buying from you scummy bums.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game starts off strong at the beginning being really enjoyable but you quickly find out it's horribly unfinished and lacks many basics like the ability to save your game. I "unlocked" a mission. Had to turn my game off and then find out my progress fell flat. FINNISH THE GAME
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Contagion VR originally had multiplayer back in the day. Upon returning to it recently i see they have removed this feature. Wish steam could issue refunds for games like this removing such a major feature. Also the single player as it stands is lacking in any sort of depth because the original fun of contagion was playing woth friends. Because of this i reccommend anyone who is considering buying this to not do so as they seem to remove features and decrease usability. Very disapointed i…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost gave it a negative review, but I played Hitman 3 in VR before and appreciate the effort now they put in. • Shooting, Movement, Interaction feels ok • Graphics are there and it's not blurry • Sound bugs and some weapons sound like airguns • No Multiplayer / No Co-Op • "Feels" short It's ok for a 2018 game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was abandoned by the devs in an unfinished state. Don't bother.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've closely watched the updates and it seems like the devs are possibly looking at fixing the headshot issue. The others haven;t been addressed at all so please make our voices heard on their Discord and the Discussions page on Steam. I love Contagion and these devs so be nice, they just need to know what we want. One HUGE issue. This shooouuld feel like the non VR version...just now in VR but insteeeaad it is its own dumbed down version. The combat NEEDS to be exactly the same as the classic…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't understand the negative reviews, its a pretty good game. Just finished the mission Outbreak, and holy cow my hands are sweaty! I'm still not used to the VR set so I still get a bit of motion sickness, using Oculus. Not sure why its getting recent negative reviews, I had a blast! Terrifying, but I can only VR in small doses. Great Atmosphere, action packed and a decent not too over the top story. Didn't play it in Early Access, but how it is as of right now seems really good! Audio is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →first time i've seen a game remove multiplayer and never add it back in. (love how they never bothered to update any other site or store to say no multiplayer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible controls, terrible inventory system. Don't even try the grab assist.. I can't recommend this.. I bought this when it first hit early access, Tried it again now that it's out and it somehow got worse.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as good as it used to be... idk what happened but game flopped hard, which is a big sad since i had high hopes for this. I originally bought it back in 2018 and now its just poop and not worth the money. Game should have stayed in early access..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →another unfinished game by monochrome, inc. they didnt even finish the last contagion.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**Deaf/Hard of Hearing Players** I just send refund request due to no subtitle/caption in the game. I don't recommend this time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game to support the devs because this game had potential. It's an early access game that hasn't really been updated for close to a year.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found the game way to buggy. Items you pick up get stuck in the wall or other things. Items dropping through the floor. The controls just don't feel smooth.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unpolished game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is good but it seriously sould add coop and to counter that just do it better add way more zombbies for coop being able to do this with friend would be awsome alone i can see it getting boring least with someone u can mess around and enjoy game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The demo hooked me in, but the full game was not that great sadly. The idea of this game is great, I have always wanted to play during the first days of an outbreak. Sadly the quality does not match modern standards. The animations on the zombies are terrible and they just vanish after killing them, it's not immersive to see that. The graphics can range from terrible to pretty good. It sadly doesn't hold up to 2020 standards. Did I mention story progress is not saved? you have to do the whole…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well it was very disappointing and full of bugs (valveindex) eg I couldn't play very much. in vain for an arrow rifle I picked up ammunition is always gone. The headshot often meant nothing 4x east shot in the head up close. Once the zombie got into the hand shower circle, every hit was paid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →controls are absolutely terrible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →undercooked overpromised peice of trash 2/10 not playing again dont waste your money dispite how fun the demo was. they ruined the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game feels half-baked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible experience, halfway finished, impossible to play, and full of Bugs. From items, falling through the floor to infinity or just disappearing, magazines don't show after they are picked up, if you get to close or push a static object like a wall, the whole map moves, which is extremely nauseating in VR, player movement is too sensitive, also extremely nauseating in VR. Great potential, but it feels like I'm playing a prototype that didnt even reach pre-alpha. I don't understand how this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mission 4 Biotec really redeems the devs and the game. It brings back the level of polish and detail (well almost) from the very first mission (demo). The melee for the first time feels great. The voice acting is much better in this 4th mission and stands up to the performance of the first demo (before they updated it). The update along with the new 4th mission also came with fixes for mission 2 and 3 (the not so great missions) I will have to play the previous missions to see, however I would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like don't get me wrong the game is okay but there are some problems with the game that should be addressed before even buying it period. CONS: 1) Had trouble hearing the game, 2) Zombies are poorly made, 3) Movement could be better, 4) Interactions didn't always work, and 5) Takes too many hits to kill the zombies. PROS: 1) Guns shoot well, 2) Story is good, 3) The tutorial was good. The cons outweigh the pros making the game not worth buying. REFUNDED
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Check the other VR zombie games like saints and sinners before even thinking about getting this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an alright game, though could use more polishing without a doubt. Pros: The story is pretty decent and the games length is quite nice for a change. Melee combat: Feels pretty okay for what it is, it's passable but lacks power and impact beyond the noise. Gunplay: Passable, but at the same time not. The added reload features is decent, but the weapons and aiming them feels more difficult than it should. Cons: Zombies: Kind of ironic considering the entire game is about them, but these…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game started out with such a great feeling and atmosphere then after the elevator opened it all went down hill. Needs a big game play and story line rework. Can't recommend in this state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So much potential but not even halfway done.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rated this as a no but my feelings are more towards a middleground. I think that the game has too much wrong with it to give it a yes, but it's not complete garbage either. id say a 5/10 if i could. my reasons are below with some spoilers (sorry for the lack of grammar i just got our of a 4 hour vr session) some of the good -the weapons. the guns are pretty nice to use. i found myself having troube reloading at times but i think thats more of a skill issue than the game. I liked the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite some of the negative reviews I would say this is a pretty good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a bit clunky to play after playing a lot of modern VR games with more intuitive controls, but the immersion is really well done. Playing with VIVE wands is a bit troublesome however, as some of the guns won't let you reload due to the wands getting in the way of your clip reaching your gun. Recommend if you're looking to play a fairly scary and immersive zombie VR game despite a few negative quirks here and there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just got my Valve index and had a few friends tell me about this game. I found it very fun and a few jump scares had me cry LOL!! I would recommend it :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Written By Hidden Gems Review : https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38624426/ Contagion VR is a zombie FPS VR game. With a nice story telling you start like in dead island you are in your room and suddenly everyone becomes zombie so you have to escape and survive. As a FPS it's pretty good and satisfyng but as the melee need improve a bit because feels like zombies are like paper when you hit them and i'm not superman. Had some little problems with the bagpack but nothing too gamebreaker,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Omg! So I remember buying this game 1 or 2 years ago for 20 dollars and people let me tell you.... I have no regrets, there were bad reviews about how the game was abandoned, but it wasn't abandoned.... the developers really did spent a lot of time developing and fixing the game, yes the controls are still kinda funky but they are better and improved no doubt about it, the long flashlight baton is just stupid but they defently fixed the controller mechanisms a little and its way way way way…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had high hopes for this and really enjoyed the original but this is just disappointing. The games virtually unplayable on index without any sort or grab detection and the hands are misaligned, the index has been out for more than a year so i'd expect this to be sorted by now. The two handed weapons can't be two handed properly so when using a bolt action if you try to let go of your right hand to pull the bolt on the right then you drop the gun . Sort of makes having two hands pointless. There…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, I try to break this down as good as I can: Positive Guns feel nice. The way they work is mostly realistic. Guns sound nice. The backpack inventory system and the way you interact with the stuff attached to your body (ammo pouch, med pills, flashlight, etc.) is well done. Sometimes, especially in stressful situations it can be a bit tricky to grab the backpack. The voice acting is good. Normally VR games do a sucky job regarding that. The levels have some really big rooms, such…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was fun, but I can't recommend the game to a VR fan, I love zombie/horror vr games. But this is just too buggy for me. Got to the 2nd chapter and had to stop because I couldn't put in the bag and I was too motion sick. I had never been motion sick in VR since espire 1. And that was when I first got VR. The game, has potential. But I seriously can't give it a good rating because of the game breaking bug's it has. If you wan't a good immersive zombie VR experience, get Arizona…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Peenix thank you! You said exactly what I was thinking and I wish I could get a refund for this terrible version of what was highly anticipated to be better than Arizona Sunshine (AS). The Demo was an amazing honey pot trap! And this version was nothing close to greatness. The shooting physics are terrible and not even remotely close to how bullets rip through flesh (AS got this right). The story is utterly lazy writing. The outdoor graphics are subpar and underwhelming. This game will end up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get it on sale, I guess, felt too boring and movement was kind of bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A must have Fantastic voyage into a virtual Zombie apocalypse, well designed levels and just as fun as the non VR version of Contagion. I had the honor of meeting the original contagion team in Florida when Brian and his guys came down as guests and sponsors for our Lakeland Zombie Fest, Thousands came out and were able to try out the original Contagion, everyone had a blast! Thank you guys again from all of us here in Florida.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls feel very off, wich is a shame considering the story looks interesting At the time of this review, alot of competitors have done a better job unfortunately. Also, the seated mode does not raise your character's height, it just moves your holsters around.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are looking for a PROPER zombie survival game look no further than to SURV1V3, as that game has awesome guns/melee and a good story that can even be played with friends in co-op! Do not buy this game since the developer has abandoned it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hi, I'm Terry Sober. I thought this game was ok until you leave you apartment building, after that it just keeps going downhill. The story doesn't continue, each mission is a different character, in a different place. Voice acting is bad. Lips don't move when NPCs are speaking. Grabbing and picking up things is hit and miss, like cocking weapon when reloading or getting backpack from behind you. Sometimes you'll shoot a zombie and it will react 3 or 4 seconds later. Sometimes zombies won't take…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand the negative reviews either. I played the game for first time back in 2019 on Viveport (HTC Vive store for VR games) and I liked the first and second story very much back then. Now there is more singleplayer stories. It could be longer stories, of course, or there will be more of them. But it's not a AAA game, and it wasn't made year ago, so it's not high quality game, but for the price that is now 8,19€ and 3,27€ on 60% discount, that's amazing price for the content you get,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not what I expected after playing the Demo while in Early Access 2 years ago or so... Even though this game has all the right elements, it is like many others already said an unfinished product. This game isn't out of Early Access, it is simply abandoned. - controls are wonky - the Item belt and inventory system is more hindering than helping - the animations are very bad - the character models vary from good to bad - the voice over is very boring - the story so far not too bad I guess, even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost impossible to play with index controllers, the hands are misaligned and to grab anything you need to squeeze with such force that you can hear the controllers cracking. Melee combat is unsatisfying and zombies move with the grace of a tank doing a slalom course, as in janky and stiff. gunplay is alright I guess, but its pretty hard to screw that up. I just cant really recommend this game with so many better VR games out there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most motion sickness I've ever experienced with a VR game and that's saying something. Also the controls are terrible, and melee attack barely works.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an OK VR zombie game with solid mechanics, but it's SUPER unpolished.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very poorly made, some guns don't even make since and poor vr movment and hand movment. back pack is real far making me dislocate my arms just to put items in my backpack.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this after playing and liking the non VR one cuz it had coop. So I thought nothing of it and got this one only to find out it has no coop so yea waste of $10 when i got it tbh. Sad thing is whats here isnt too bad for a indie zombie game but oh well maybe one day they will add coop and i can change this review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At this time I do not recommend this game. It needs a lot more polish and has to be more explanatory about what to do. And more intuitive. I understand the hardcore crowd is loud but casual gamers are going to buy more VR games than them. It is always that way. Many moons ago I would have gladly tested the game and gave feedback but the rule was 10,000+ subs can only request keys. Oh well. Sorry about grammar mistakes. I am in a hurry. I got done the apartment and wife escape part and that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i'm big fan of zombie panic source and all i knew people who made Contagionn is the same team who worked on zombie panic . when i played Contagion it's fun co-op and missions and lot of mods in it but when i played Contagion VR: Outbreak is it fun? it's okay and the graphics looked like indie game by one guy who made it . about the gameplay its okay i like the game being balanced between action and puzzles but what make you hate this game is the control of the game because it's so hard to open…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most of what makes this a great game has already been covered in other positive reviews. I'll just say it comes down to the fact that it's just a fun game to play. In the first mission you get to snipe zombies from a rooftop and later take control of a mini gun and blow away zombies coming up the street toward you. The 2nd mission continues the action with a bit more exploration and an escape room thrown in as well. The 3rd mission is strictly puzzle solving, but they are satisfying puzzles to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked it. Has a ton of content too. If you pick it up on a sale, great! Even full price, it's still worth it. (Received a key for the game from the twitch stream by developers.)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the game in the beginning and got immersed quickly, However I soon become un immersed because of the poor weapon handling leading me to die and restart several times. This should not be out of early access.
