unlabelledView post →Whatever Larian’s next game is, Gamespot will be on top of it. They always had a special relationship with Larian, tracing back to Beyond Divinity and Divinity Original Sin 1.
unlabelledView post →Playing Beyond Divinity again and on one hand I can see how we got to Baldur's Gate 3, but on the other I can also see why it rates a bit lower than Divine Divinity did (and that game was already peak post-Diablo eurojank)
unlabelledView post →Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity and Divinity II First 2 looks like my kind of game - isometric action RPGs, 3rd was in a bundle. I was about to start Divine Divinity now, but got sidetracked and didn't.
unlabelledView post →Gonna repost what I said elsewhere: Divine Divinity is a game you can easily play in Current Year, just grab a GameFAQs guide from circa 2003 for onboarding and those few obtuse sections. Beyond Divinity is a game for which you read the development post-mortem articles recapping what went wrong.
unlabelledView post →Side note: I'm realizing something about Larian. They always rush their games when they have a publisher. Divine, Beyond, Divinity 2, and BG3 were all rushed But the self published titles, Original Sin 1+2 and Dragon Commander, were not rushed The new game is self published, so that's good news
unlabelledView post →Just to add that it's not Original Sin 3 but that doesn't stop it being another Divinity game. Maybe a remake/reboot of Divine Divinity (and Beyond Divinity) because it's an old game and clunky with bugs. It'd make sense to remake it and finally get a proper Beyond Divinity, too.
unlabelledView post →Beaten Beyond Divinity tonight. I sure hope Larian got their money's worth out of it because holy fuck, it was the video game equivalent of wiping your ass with sandpaper.
unlabelledView post →there is Devine Devinity, Beyond Divinity, DIvinity II, Divinity: Original SIn, Divinity: Original Sin II, and now There will be finally a game just called Divinity! (all by Larian) °O°
unlabelledView post →As someone who has played every Divinity game except for Beyond Divinity, I'm beyond hyped to get more of this franchise. Was worried that they were going to do an entirely new IP once they said they're not continuing with Balder's Gate.
unlabelledView post →technically speaking, Larian never made a game that was JUST called "Divinity". they made Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Divinity 2, Divinity Dragon Commander, Divinity Original Sin and Divinity Original Sin 2
unlabelledView post →Didn't super help lol. But I did look it up and the first Divinity game was technically called Divine Divinity, followed by Beyond Divinity and Divinity 2. Original Sin being a prequel and OS 2 also being a sequel. So you see why Im confused.
unlabelledView post →Divinity existed before Original Sin is what I mean. Divine Divinity was the first game, an action RPG, then its sequel Beyond Divinity. There's also Divinity: Dragon Commander, which is an RTS. I'm just unsure if this is Original Sin 3 or a new game in the Divinity universe.
unlabelledView post →Completed Beyond Divinity. Barely. Completing a certain quest, which is *right* before the end of the game, will corrupt any save you make after completing it. I didn't realize this until I'd corrupted all of my rotating save files.
unlabelledView post →Art idea: The Paladin from Beyond Divinity, The Dragon Knight from Divinity 2, and Godwoken from Divinity: Original Sin 2 stand around arguing over who's game is the *true* "Divinity 2" ...while Swen plots in the background adding Divinity: Dragon Commander 2 to the mix of "second" Divinity games
unlabelledView post →3. Beyond Divinity I'll be real with you. I have no idea why or how I got this game. Based on where it is in my library I got it WAY before Larian hit big with Divinity Original Sin. Maybe this was in a bundle? I didn't get OG Divine Divinity until 2024.
unlabelledView post →If I remember right, the current timeline is: Divinity: Dragon Commander (2013) Divinity: Original Sin (2014) Divine Divinity (2002) Beyond Divinity (2004) Divinity: Original Sin II (2017) Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga (2010) And each game is divided from the others in-universe by centuries.
unlabelledView post →That makes sense, we got “Divinity II” back on 360, but there was no “Divinity” game. Just Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity. (I know Divine Divinity is supposed to be the first one, but it’s 25 years old and could use a remake)
unlabelledView post →www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BL3... Beyond Divinity- The second game in the Divinity series, which started with the amusingly titled Divine Divinity and was followed by another 5 games past this before developer Larian took a break from Diablo clones to make... Baldur's Gate 3!? Anyway it's a Diablo,
unlabelledView post →It's certainly a messy game, but I did overall enjoy Beyond Divinity. The twist at the end is cool, and the story was pretty neat, too. I'm definitely glad I gave it another try.
unlabelledView post →Finally got to Act IV of Beyond Divinity. It's interesting that the game begins, and seems to be ending, with a more linear dungeon crawl. BD overall hadls a bigger focus on puzzles and riddles than Divine Divinity did, and Act IV seems to be doubling down on this.
unlabelledView post →Alright I'm back on my bullshit, time to replay this lovely, unfinished mess. Was gonna give Beyond Divinity another try but after finishing Divinity 2 I felt the urge to return to the original game once more www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbfG...
unlabelledView post →1: Beyond Divinity, I got it on sale with a bunch of other Divinity games, like Original Sin 1 and 2. Larians first game series, before they did Baldur's Gate 3.
