There is no fast travel, and even if you can get the character to run, he ambles about slowly making odd turns and generally being a slow pain in the butt. I was using a walkthrough by chapter 3, and still the time it took to get from one place to another was torturous. Sometimes it was literally 20 screens between actions…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They've fixed the language issue that one of the reviewers posted previously, so don't worry about that! This game is defintely fun, if you like classic adventure games, this is one to try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ankh is a fun romp of a point and click adventure game, a bit challenging, a lot tongue in cheek, and a tad 4th wall breaking. The song and dance about girls and hair is hysterical. Game: Assil manages to get a death curse and now he must break it. Follow his adventure from breaking out of his house (He is grounded), dealing with a man eating crocodile, goofy palace guards, looney market merchants (and a very talkative slave), rescuing a damsel with attitude (Thara), some palace intrigue…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is is GERMAN.. even tried changing the ini file from language=1 to 0 and it gave messed up english menus but no sound or even subtitles that would tell you what the characters were saying... The only sound that seems to work is GERMAN speaking.... Since playing the game requires knowing what is being said, the game is useless, and CANNOT be played unless you speak GERMAN... Ankh 2 and Ankh 3 games seem to work well, BUT I would stay away from this one, unless you speak GERMAN,,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a fun point and click with light humor. Puzzles were not overly difficulty which kept the plot moving. The length was perfect for introducing this three part series. I rushed to purchase the next two tales. Any racey jokes were mild enough I felt comfortable my kids overhearing. Lots of fun I would run through it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A point and click adventure. Tries to be funny, I did not like that kind of humour... Warning: Does not seem to be capable to handle 4K resolution. Menu to set resolution back to FHD is not displayed properly once 4K is set. (You have to kill the game and set resolution to FHD in Windows)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun old-school point and click game. And by "old-school" I mean it is appaently a remaster of the original game released in 2005. Yep. It is a 12 year old game. So don't expect it to run well on a PCMasterRace Windows 10 Beast rig with a 21:9 or 4k multiple monitor set up. It runs great on a Windows 7 toaster. Which actualy surprised me, being that it was developed for Windows 2000, Windows XP. I did not need to set Win 7 to XP compatibility, but newer rigs than my 6 year old one may…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great graphics, dumb plot, bad animation. I love point & clicks and this is the worst one I have ever played. so much unnecessarily difficult hidden items, illogical plot, and tons of unnecessary walking around. Overall pass on this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros + nice looking colorful graphics which aged quite well + there are some funny moments + story is fine + diverse cast of witty and engaging characters + character models and cutscenes looks decent + nice egyptian background musics + some puzzles enjoyable. there are also inventory puzzles you can combine some items + two playable characters and they are quite likeable + game drops cards cons - voice acting hit and miss. especially main character's voice acting most of time quite dull -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a decent Point & Click game if you can tolerate completely absurd puzzles but it wasn't for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game. It crashed 2-3 times, but other than that, I experienced no problem at all. The story is interesting, the dialogues are funny, and the puzzles have the right difficulty. Thanks a lot for the game! #MakeBananasLegalAgain #LegalizeBananas
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really fun game, I love the humor and the art-style. very good HD (!) remake version of the first ankh-game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little point and click adventure from a time when those basically only came out of Germany - so before their comeback on Kickstarter. The Pros: - Decent graphics for the time - Great Egyptian themed score (minus the dreadful title song) - Good voice actors - Mostly logical puzzles The Cons: - Game is a bit short at only around 5 hours - Quite a bit of backtracking in later chapters and too many filler screens - Some puzzles are a bit far fetched - Too many forced pop culture and Lucas…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the entire reason I fell in love with ancient Egypt. (Also, Assil gave my 8-year-old self her straight awakening. Yes, my taste in fictional men is more than questionable.) This is a nostalgia review. The game hasn’t aged too well. It crashes every time I tab out, and there were a few missing audio files, along with some subtitles that didn’t match the voice actor's spoken words. There are also some puzzles that, in my humble opinion, are impossible to solve without consulting a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a little buggy and some of the later puzzles could use a bit more logic, but it's a 15 year old indie game. The story and characters are fun and engaging. It's pretty good and holds up better than some classics. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved it! Only problem I had is that it's a point and click adventure, even though I like that sort of thing, this game really begs to be free roaming. Aside from that one thing that doesn't really take away from any of the fun, this game is definitely worth purchasing and playing. Trust me, if you haven't played this series, this one is a great addition to your library. Awesome PlayStation era graphics, character design and controls, similar to titles from Naughty Dog like Crash Bandicoot…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great point & click game. If you are into adventure games this one is a must. Now with higher resolutions looks great. And don't forget Ankh 2: Heart of Osiris & Ankh 3: Battle of the Gods.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Breaking into a tomb with your mates for a couple of underage beers seemed like a good idea at the time… now you’re grounded! Oh yeah, and there’s that pesky death curse you need to take care of. It’s a hard life as an Egyptian teenager… Ankh is a warm hearted, point and click adventure game. It’s not too hard, not too easy and the dialogue options are really funny - you can see that the developers were influenced by Lucas Arts. There are double entendres thrown in for older players, but it’s…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crystal puzzles in ancient temples bust my boredom, and I laugh while solving riddles, like a circus of giggles!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Ankh" takes you on a 3D point-and-click adventure through the wonders of ancient Egypt. The game serenades your ears with excellent music and voice acting. However, the humor seems to have taken a time machine back to a kindergarten playground, leaving you with a cringe-worthy taste. The storyline feels as deep as a dried-up riverbed in the desert. Prepare to be puzzled – not just by the game's challenges, but by the excruciatingly slow navigation system. You'll spend way too much time…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i dont know how anyone could dislike this game. truly an underrated gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ankh gets really dull and frustrating the further you get in it. The top negative is right about chapters 3 and 4. The humor also never clicked with me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unskippable cutscenes, crashes when tabbed out and you can't turn of the sound while in a cutscene ...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, nothing to complain about. Decent graphics, somewhat interesting plot and logical puzzles. Over seven hours of playtime. A solid 8/10 point-and-click experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I bought the game because I played it as a kid and I thought let's get sentimental and do a little journey to the past. I remember I couldn't get past some parts as a kid in the era when I didn't know about tutorials. As a fan of point&click games I didn't really like it. I didn't even play it for a long time because I simply got bored. The plot was boring for me. The characters were borig too. Nothing that kept me wanting to play it more. Maybe I'll try it one more time when I have time but…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is broken, I cant tell if its good or bad, its unplayable, crashes every 10 minutes, developed very poorly. When youre in the game you cant alt-tab, you cant control your system sound, and changing the sound settings in game is also very poorly designed, the settings go from 0 to 10 and you have to click to increase, and if you missed the number you want you have to keep clicking until it gets to 10 and then starts over. Any normal game since the late 80s have a sound bar that you can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've already write a lot of reviews for games I've played, and I must say that the "Check this box if you received this product for free" bothers me a lot. I never receive anything free. I mean this box always remind me I have no luck in my life. And that's indeed a good intro for this review, as we can say the Hero of Ankh has the same luck than me... Ankh is an adventure game, old school designed (mean no fancy stuff, a lot of go/back to nowhere to get one portion of the thing you need to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ankh - Anniversary Edition is a lovingly preserved classic adventure game developed and published by Deck13 that showcases the studio’s early creative identity and its affection for traditional point-and-click design. As a remastered re-release of the original mid-2000s title, the Anniversary Edition does not attempt to reinvent the experience, but instead focuses on making it accessible on modern systems while retaining the humor, structure, and charm that defined it. The result is a game that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🏺 Ankh – Anniversary Edition This game is a piece of my childhood. I played it back when there were no internet guides — and here, sometimes, you really need them. The puzzles aren’t always logical: you understand the bigger goal, but not always the exact steps to solve it. Despite that, Ankh remains a bright, fun, and humorous game. It’s essentially a satirical adventure about lifting a curse, packed with jokes and parody. The graphics still look pretty good even today — and for a 2005…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game. Simple fun. Wish it had a highlight items feature, but other than that...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game Review: Ankh - Anniversary Edition Rating: 4/5 Ankh - Anniversary Edition had a lot of potential, but for me, it just didn’t deliver. Even after purchasing it with a discount, as part of a bundle, and making a little money by selling the trading cards, I still felt like I regretted buying it. The game’s animation is quite rough, which made the experience less enjoyable than I had hoped. The characters and movements just didn’t feel smooth, and it took away from the overall immersion.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a good point-and-click adventure game, best look somewhere else. This game is mediocre at best and has some very annoying backtracking and obtuse puzzles in the later chapters, particularly chapters 3 and 4. I liked: - decent graphics and animations - decent voice acting - main character is okay most of the time I disliked: - lack of fast-travel to previously visited locations - the absurd amount of backtracking required in chapters 3 and 4 - the limited interactions with the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game, not too hard to play (though it a shame he doensnt give you hints with what he says) lovely music in the background and a nice story. Worth it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ankh Anniversary Edition is basically a comedy vacation in ancient Egypt. Everyone’s sarcastic, everything’s slightly broken, and somehow it’s all charming as hell and the remaster makes the whole goofy adventure feel fresher without losing its old-school vibe. It’s not deep, but it is fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a monkey-island-style adventure game, To me, not special or memorable in any way, but if you like such games, worth a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/E2NvKV4ufHY Twenty years ago the humor may have landed better but it's flat now and the 3D adventure game hooks lack modern quality of life features.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After about an hour of playtime I pressed alt-tab and it crashed the game. Of course it was not saved. Otherwise a great nostalgia trip.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a funny & actually enjoyable game if you have the nervs for it ( since is lacking hints, clues ). I played it until suddenly closed itself/crashed & when i started it again i notice that there was no auto-save and the entire progress been gone... this is the only issue with it, so make sure you save the progress by hand after every major interaction/progress.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming, lighthearted point & click adventure set in ancient Egypt that makes no secret of its Monkey Island influence. Vibrant visuals and the jokes and puzzles are mostly enjoyable. "This is Cairo" song will be stuck in your head!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm too much an Egyptologist fan for this game. The graphics remind me of an old Pit Fall game that I like but the story made me cringe.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In 4k it does not work correctly. The items are very small. However the real problem is that the command line (with "combine x with y" or "take z") is not clearly visible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I was younger this was one of the first games I played on my Nintendo DS. Never got to finish it though because at some point the screen just turned black and I couldn't do anything. It's been kinda haunting me that I never got to finsih it so when I saw it on Steam I just had to buy it. I didn't like the game as much as I did 10 years ago but it's one of the games that are just simply nostalgic for me. Solely for the title song this game is gold! positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ankh is a verz beautiful and story driven point and click adventure game. Even if it has some time on its back, it is still worth playing and also runs very very smooth. For sure its not extremly long in its playtime but surely gives you a fun and cool expirience with its great humor and story. To everzone who likes a child storz driven game and also loves point and click with a bit of puzzles, should give it a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute Must-have for people with dark humor. It's really good but it's a bit too short and sometimes you don't really know what to do, but still a really cool game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game has a few issues but thats to be expected from a guy this old has quite a few funny references very tongue in cheek humor
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best point and click adventures ever made. Such a great humour.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Adventure - P&C - Point&Click Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Ankh series is a boring series of difficult point&click puzzles that require a guide to complete, while offering a kid oriented cartoony universe and characters. Not a good combination.
