I really enjoyed the first game, but I cannot recommend this one. It's filled to the brim with bugs, ranging from animation glitches, dialog loops and I finally hit a point where the game consistently freezes. Now when I continue my current save it just freezes immediately and the game crashes. It's pretty much unplayable at the moment. This is made all the more frustrating by the fact that this game's release was even delayed a few months and yet it still seems unfinished. Perhaps they'll…

Popping in with a review in 2021 saying yeah, they never fixed all the terrible bugs. Some game-breaking, some just irritating, other reviews have described them but I'm just posting in case you check the game out in the future and think "well surely they eventually fixed the bugs, right?" As for the game itself, eh, its more of the same from the first game, which is to say its got a charming artstyle and a sense of humor that is really a matter of your personal taste. The puzzles are that…

--On a repeated playthrough with the most recent patch, there are lots of ways for the game to crash or have progress halting bugs. It was working better before the patch to correct Steam achievements. I would recommend delaying playing until these issues are worked out with a patch. Overall, I still loved where the game was going, just the bugs are serious at the moment.--- Bertram and his Peruvian cyclops manservant, Gavin, are back to catch the nefarious Geoff the Murderer in the second…

Longer than the first one, this game is more of the same, including the charming style, solid humor, and fun gameplay experience we can now confidently expect from the series. My only negative comment is that three of the Steam achievements seem to be bugged and it's inclreasingly looking as though the developer simply plans to leave them that way. On that front, a bleak predicament indeed!

Better than the previous game, with much more difficult puzzles (they aren't difficult, but they just are more difficult compared to the first game), although some of the puzzles lack logic. It's also much bigger than the first game. The dialogues are very funny and the story is quite interesting. All in all, a quite enjoyable experience. Totally worth its price. Good job, developers. Till next time, don't forget to point & click!

What a fantabulous adventuring!! Most definimitely the besteverest game ever made!! But, I am prone to exaggeration from time to time! :-) I am currently having to launch the game directly from the .exe file. And, Steam Achievements have been spotty; but I don't care. The game-stopping glitches have been resolved, finally, and the rate the devs have been working to fix the issues has been astounding, and I'm sure they will have 99.87% of the problems fixed within a reasonable amount of time,…

The game was ok as a point and click adventure, but the enjoyment was really ruined by how buggy the gameplay was. You couldn't just click around to figure out what to do, because some wrong clicks my prevent the game from registering that you'd done a necessary thing, or not spawn a necessary item no matter what you did afterward. There were also several occasions when I was actually doing what I was supposed to to solve a puzzle, but because I didn't click the EXACT CORRECT SPOT (collision…

Sometimes in between bigger game titles I like to play some smaller, often indie, games. So with the Bertram Fiddle games on sale, I figured they would be good palate cleansers before I tackle the AAA titles in my backlog. The first episode of Bertram Fiddle was quite delightful: it had colourful and eye-catching animations, plenty of puns, and good share of puzzles that would tickle your brain just enough without being frustrating. Too bad it was just a two-hour diversion. So I began…

Even tho it has some bugs at the end of the game, it still is a good one! Again, amazing voice-acting, '70s music that I liked a lot, many familiar ( from episode 1 ) AND NEW characters to encounter and some really exciting locations to explore! The puns were terribly hilarious xD Solving this was not as easy as the first one, but still - it was simple enough. The "make your own meat friend" mini-game was weird and funny at the same time and I made 4 cute little friends xD Note: If you want to…

Unfortunately, not recommended I was drawn to Bertram Fiddle Episode 1 due to the art style and was surprised what a charming little game it was- great atmosphere, weird noses, the wits of Brits and puns to die for! It was short, but a good romp of which I wanted to see more. However, more in this case meant that apparently, the team at Rumpus got over their head- needlessly sprawling areas (Act 1 had 13 (!) screens where sometimes, there wasn't even anything to interact with), animations or…

(Backed on kickstarter) This game may not be everyone's cup o'tea. There are puns which at times may seem like too much, but I enjoyed them! :) A good point and click game with easy to moderate puzzles, I'd give it a solid 8/10. Buy it when it's around 30% discounted or more and you won't be disappointed! Needless to say - play the first one first.

As many have already pointed out, this game is too buggy to recommend as it is. It starts off reasonably OK but gets worse and worse as you progress. At first you can ignore the occasional glitch but it gets quite irritating in later chapters. I can only hope the developer gets to work on some patches to solve this as it spoils an otherwise entertaining game. So to recap. Don't buy it now, but do check again now and then to see if it has been fixed, as I would certainly recommend it if they…

It's mostly pretty good, but there are numerous cosmetic bugs (main character's head occasionally disappears during conversations, some comments are voiced by the wrong character, etc). There's a tedious 'puzzle' at the start, but it picks up after that. Some might find the puzzles a bit Monkey-Island-Rubber-Chicken, but I liked that. However, I can't recommend the game in its current state (8/26) as there are progress blocking bugs (see the community discussions if you want to know more, I…

Bigger, better, and lasts longer (that's what she said) than the first game. Filled with more puns (which is one of the best uses of a hint system that I've seen) and references to famous Victorian stories than the first episode. Hopefully more adventuring is in Bertram Fiddle's future. 8.5/10

I really liked the first episode Bertram Fiddle. Buy that one, but give this one a miss. It's buggy and the puzzles have you running around picking up objects to combine into overly complicated tools. Even with the puns and dialogue, which is a plus, it bogs down so much, it loses the fun aspect.

If you've played the first episode you know what you're in for. If you haven't expect a zany, over the top, sometimes gross adventure game that makes just enough sense to be fun and coherent. From a game design standpoint, everything is episode 2 is better than episode 1. A mediocre sequel riddled with bugs. If you though the first game was good but not great you can definitely skip this one. The only real positive I can mention is that the playtime is much longer than the original. I first played Bertram Fiddle 1 about 5 years ago, and I remembered it being fun, so I picked up part 2 for cheap during the Steam summer sale in the 'complete your collection' bundle. Before playing it I replayed part 1, which I didn't remember much about. It was fine. Nothing great, but a reasonably entertaining quick playthrough taking only about an hour and a half. Part 2 did complete the story but, unfortunately, was much worse and not much fun at all really. It's about 3 or 4 times…

Oh dear. An incomplete, buggy mess. I enjoyed the first episode. It was a glorious dig at Victorian Explorer cliches, complete with comically large moustaches, photomographs, stuffed animals and endless pomposity. This one though....well, the story is as enjoyable, but it has major MAJOR problems. There are several sections in the game where if you don't perform a sequence of events in the exact correct order, an item can vanish from the game leading to an unwinnable situation. Pathfinding is…

Having completely adored the first game, I was really excited for this second, longer episode. Alas, the number of bugs (often requiring a game restart) simply drown out the story. If the work is put in to rid the game of the frequent bugginess, this game could have been a satisfying follow-up, but as it is I just can't recommend it.

I love it, but I have experienced a whole lot and continuous bunch of bugs. For now my experience is a lot of “quit” and “continue” - because I cannot get the characters to do anything – and at some point the main character simply disappeared from the screen. While playing episode 1 I did not feel I'd recommend it. The store-page calls it a "classic point and click adventure game" but it's so easy that a puzzle component is more or less absent. Not very classic. I then however played episode 2 (as realistically most anyone would) and that is in fact a bona fide classic point and click adventure game. With both episodes taken together genre-fans will find quite enough to like here.

A much better game than the Episode 1. Now with proper puzzles, an enjoyable story that actually feels like something, and more puns and references. It is still not a quite perfect game, dialogues, interactions and animations constantly bug out and while it's not on the level of being in an unplayable status(at least it was fine for me to progress till the end), it can certainly be distracting enough to drop to a certain crowd. Having said that it feels like the devs ran out of time , steam and or money as the ending sequences the animation is not up to par and the lips of the characters no longer move so sometimes it's difficult to tell who is talking. This is one of those games where I wish Steam had a "shrug" button for if you recommend it or not. It has all the charm of the Adventure of Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1, but the puzzles were more frustrating (and not in a good way). As a side note, when the game first came out a lot of people were complaining about how many glitches there were in it. It seems like they fixed those issues.
