45 of 45 · most liked firstNote: the review that spurred this (very short) review has since been taken down, presumably out of shame. I don't write reviews anymore (I once did that for a living) but I'm leaving this one to balance out the absolutely atrocious one that's dragging this fine game into the gutter on its launch day. So... If you like solid, pixel art-based, non-bullet hell, classic-style* shooters w/ an interesting 'wiggle' mechanic, grab this. (The only real downside is one that plagues a great many…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Over the years we've grown accustomed to hanging out near the bottom or the far left of the screen. Why? To dodge the 100s of 1000s of 10000000s of bullets that accost us. Naturally, numerous scoring systems all but demand that we get closer to the top (or the right side) of the screen. Still, for the most part it's easier to just stay as far away as danger as possible, and give those bullet-spreads room to...well...spread. XIIZEAL is an oddity in many ways. First off, the level of difficulty…

This is a really really really good shmup by Triangle Service a company that makes these games as a labor of love more than anything. To me this is by far the best shmup on steam, it's full of cool secrets that you'll take forever to discover and have fun doing so. The game isn't particularly punishing which is encouraging for newer players as well. The scoring mechanics on a chain multiplier are fun and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic shmup featuring 4 attacks: shot, side, exhaust and bomb. The graphics and music are good, but where the game stands out is the gameplay. Your mission will take you through 8 levels full of various enemy craft and tough bosses. This Steam version features autofire buttons for shot and side attack, which makes the game somewhat easier - though you can play using normal fire buttons if you desire so. There are also some modern goodies implemented, like leaderboards and TATE mode.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game back in the PlayStation 2 era. I liked it alot, and still do. For anyone who wanna play old school shmup and don't like those "bullet hell" games this is a must. This is small game, but there is no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Great throw back to late 1990s and early 2000s arcade games (Well this is arcade game, after all).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't know this was released on Steam so instead of playing the arcade version, I decided to buy it to support them. A huge problem with this version is the limit of 3 credits. This was not found in any other version. I have no idea why this was even added in. There is no option to turn that limit off. Don't buy this.

Here are the Pros and Cons about the game: The Pros: + The graphic is very good, the actions on screen are very-well animated. You can play either pixel perfect or with filtering mode to smooth out the graphic. Very classic. Very intense, even lots of bullets on screen, the game still runs smoothly at 60FPS. + Simple control scheme. Play with controller or keyboard…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a 2002 popular arcade vertical scrolling shooter game of the PC version of the transplantation and its weapon system is very interesting, I always liked the game, whether it is a version of the PS2\PPC, in addition it support replay convenient video playback and global ranking, screen resolution adjusted and difficulty, the arcade game player is a good!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Triangle Service STG Trinity Complete! Imagine DeltaZeal (G-Stream G2020) with polygonal visuals, a transforming ship with three different weapons, and the ship from XIIZeal (XII Stag). That’s Trizeal Remix in a nutshell, going from the NAOMI/DC/PS2 to Xbox 360/Windows PC/Switch. Long ways to go!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked how you could attack in all directions. I also liked being able to turn my monitor on its side in order to play the game vertically. You'll probably have to stretch the game's screen size manually in the options for it to look good. I stretched it so that it didnt show the borders at all, keeping only the arcade screen front and center. It seemed like a very solid bullethell shooter from what I played. But my God, it was difficult even on easy with me AND a friend working together. In…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wrote an extremely detailed review for this game, but it seems to be too long to post on steam, so here's a pastebin link to it: http://pastebin.com/MAq1B8C7
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing port, it even has TATE mode. The game itself is also great, not exactly a bullet hell though, its more of a classic shmup but its a ton of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trizeal Remix Very Easy XII No Continue Clear! Think XII Stag aka XIIZEAL with NAOMI/DC visuals. XII plays like its host game with a few differences, albeit the game wasn’t designed around it. Trizeal’s assets were later repurposed for its sequel Exzeal, itself as part of the Shooting Love. series.
unlabelledView post →This game has some unique mechanics with side attacks and back thruster attack. The enemy bullets are similar to the bullets in Raiden, they're really fast. When I first opened the game and looked at the UI, I was like, "Are you kidding me?" but it's understandable considering the company financial situation. All the basic functionalities are there, like screen scaling and rotation. The default arcade mode gives 3 credits. After you beat one stage, the score attack mode for that stage will be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →take the PS2 port of XIISTAG and make it way better. I love how autoroll in XIIZEAL doesnt ever give you any movement restrictions. heck im impressed that this was supposedly be a better and a more complete version of XIISTAG LIMITED. that syet was like more than a decade old. props to you Mr Fujino! everything runs as smooth as you can play on pretty much any toasters I own. all the cool taito GNet arcade graphics had improved but I kinda miss the boss warning screen turn from a cool…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really good game.... but.... only 3 credits, even on easy not that easy... as a casual gamer i dont think i will ever finish it.... just saying... but if you are up for the challenge, try and try again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this on the Playstation 2, Xbox 360, and now on Steam. This is a nice port. Controller config works fine, screen tate works fine, scaling and filters are there for those who want them. No complaints there. So what's this game about? AGGRESSION! Getting up close and personal, point-blank killing enemies from the side or behind. Wigging back and forth sends shockwaves of death out the sides, and yes, even your engine exhaust kills stuff good. Practice and knowing when it's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to Triangle Service's past works, Trizeal was a well rounded STG that didn't use a fragile PCB (G-Stream G2020 aka DeltaZeal) or PlayStation hardware (XII Stag aka XIIZEAL). After all, both the NAOMI and Dreamcast were still supported at the time; Remix was built off from Exzeal however.
unlabelledView post →The arcade version used the PlayStation-based Taito G-Net, the same one that hosted RayCrisis, Psyvariar Medium Unit & Revision, Shikigami no Shiro, XII Stag aka XIIZEAL, Chaos Heat and Super Puzzle Bobble (NOT the 2000 consumer game!) to name a few.
unlabelledView post →Xiizeal is probably the most impressive gimmick Triangle Service has come up with. The waggle is just a cool idea, although I prefer this Steam version where it can be bound to a button. The fact is that the mechanics in this game are just fun and cool ideas. The way your side shot is uber powerful compared to your regular shot. The way you can use your bomb to temporarily shield an area to spam the hell out of the side shot to wreck bosses. Even the level design where the popcorn enemies will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best top-down space shooters I've played in a while. Extremely fun, and the difficulty curve is pretty balanced.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool shooter that i remember playing back in the day called XII Stag. Solid shooter with good graphics and controls. the resolution could use a patch but it still looks and feels great after all these years. i picked it up on sale and have no regrets.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →XIIZEAL is a relatvely sparse shooting game, but its unusual mechanics and branching stages make for a very enjoyable package. While it's relaively easy by genre standards, there's plenty of depth for those of us who like to set scoring objectives. XIIZEAL is very solid arcade shooter and well worth a look for anyone who wants a STG for his or her Steam library.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had already spent some time on this game on the Xbox 360 port and it is very good. A great game to play for survival or score. Don't be afraid to get agressive and rack up that score! For a better experience, wiggle the dpad or stick instead of using the rapid!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →XIIZEAL is a vertically scrolling shoot ’em up developed by TRIANGLE SERVICE and published on Steam by KOMODO, delivering a focused and uncompromising arcade experience that prioritizes precision, pattern recognition, and score-driven mastery. Rather than attempting to modernize the genre with excessive systems or spectacle, the game confidently embraces classic shmup fundamentals, presenting a design that feels deliberate, disciplined, and deeply rooted in arcade tradition. From the opening…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →XII Stag is a really good game all around. I don’t know if it was released before or after DeltaZeal, as they were both released in 2002 to arcades, but it’s an impressive offering from Triangle Service in their early stages. I love the horizontal attack, the difficulty moves back and forth throughout to let you breathe a little, and the bosses are really fun. My only complaint is that the graphics get a little distracting at times, cloud cover over bullets and whatnot. I don’t have a lot to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Verdict: 6/10 - oldschool vertical 2D shooter + good graphics + many difficulties + X360 controller support + screen rotation for upright screens - low native resolution (VGA?), at 1080p much too pixelated/blurry - only 3 credits: many of us will never see all 8 stages the game has to offer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun SHMUP. the movement as attack mechanic is neat, encouraging a lot more close-range combat compared to some SHMUPs. I think the graphics are good, but sometimes it gets quite busy and it's hard to distinguish bullets from the background sometimes. I think the later levels get a bit busy as well. I'm able to get through about the first half with no deaths and actually getting most of the alternate, harder bosses, but the game really ramps up in the later half. It's still good, but for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first shoot em up I played so many years ago on the PS2 under the name of XII Stag The PC version is flawless and the game is so much nicer with a keyboard then the PS2 controller making the side attacks so much easier to do without drifting off as much Game runs flawless on the Steam Deck as well so no need to emulate the PS2 XII Stag version unless you really miss the title screen name change
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An enjoyable Shmup with a basic scoring mechanic. Bullet density is a bit high for my skill on some of the later levels, but I'm still enjoying what I play of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good and fun Shooter with some broken achievements that are not goining to get fixed any time soon. It's a bit older now but i can still recommend it if you get it with a deep discount. But with working achievements, this game would be a 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! 12! / 10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty damn good, and even has vertical monitor support. Shmup veterans will feel at home, as the game isn't ball-busting, yet offers a good challenge in later levels. And the graphics are fantastic. I bought this one out of the blue, as I've never even heard of this game prior to scrolling past things on Steam, and my money was not wasted.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →12,,,12,,,12,,,12,,,12,,,12...12 out of 12.Great game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a simple but fun shmup. probably the best triangle services shootemup as it is more fluid than others and less genmeric. it is ok but not a great shmup It has 4 types of attacks. normal shoot, backward shoot and side attack. the side attack in the arcade was made may going one side and then the oposite direction. Fortunaly this port has a button for that as it is bad for wrists in long playing sessions. the game maybe also the most hard of the company. There is a limit of 3 credits and i…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great old school shmup, very challenging beginning early on. Love the sideswipe mechanic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Must have for any shmup fan! Great doujin title offering much more than standard 6 stages bullet hells. Comes with great variety of options including pixel perfect scaling and native tate mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great shmup that fits right in to any shmup fans collection... this game is also on mame and ps2 by the way but you cant go wrong having it on steam too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't like the waggle mechanic, but thankfully they gave us a button to make it far less annoying. Otherwise, your run of the mill RTS. If you love the genre, give it a go.
