If only there was somebody with a camera to capture the look on my face whenever I died. I guarantee that I never made the same expression twice. A lot of 2D shooters, even brilliant ones like Radiant Silvergun, never really grasp just how horrifying and beautiful it can be. This is strange, since these deaths represent everything about the genre. When a plane or a jet or a psychic teenager…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh, I *really* don't like this one. It might be the most miserable experience I've had, as a casual player, with one of these so far. The biggest issue is projectile visibility. They're all glow-y white or glow-y pink, they blend with the background or, worse with your own projectiles. Half the time you can't tell what killed you. Another issue is the speed of enemy projectiles as related to your ship; they're not *faster* than you, but many of them are just *slightly* slower. This means if…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game. Worth full price if a hardcore SHMUP fan, but since I am merely a casual gamer, keep in mind its got a 3credit limit. Since I am merely a poser, waited for a sale but still found it well worth it. Very fast paced and gets really hard really quickly, but still a lot of fun! easy 8/10!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you played XIIZeal and didn't like it (Due to waggling and what not) fear not, DELTAZEAL Is where the money went. Not only the music and presentation are fantastic, the entire game system is super good, there's branching paths depending on which side of the screen you stand on at certain points and the powerup system is very unique, there's 3 main weapons, wide shot, missile and laser which you powerup by picking color coded triangles, You can mix and match them and have multiple triangles…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Delta Zeal This review was last edited when I had played the game for about an hour. Short Review A fast action arcade shoot em up style game with below par graphics and audio. Whilst there is nothing to really dislike about the game there is nothing to excite me either. I'm afraid I can't in all honesty recommend. Long Review Let me say straight away that this is not a genre I play often which is a double edged sword in that one one hand it requires a pretty exceptional game to keep my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the pace and music of the game, and I especially like the powerup system (which is unique, as far as I can tell), but unfortunately, the game suffers from one major design flaw that prevents me from recommending it. The developers, for some reason, decided to make enemy bullets nearly identical in color to bonus point gems, which are nearly identical in color to your spread shot. All three are a shade of pink. Why? Why would anyone think that's a good idea? It only adds artificial…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In an hour and 24 minutes time, it will be Episode 26 of "STG Mania", as I play DELTAZEAL! This game has one of my favorite tropes in a SHMUP... and that is blowing up parts on a boss ship and/or tank to not only eliminate attacks, but also to score points, so this should be fun! #Vtuber
unlabelledView post →Good 90s feel shmup...keep in mind though, even on very easy bullet speed is quite fast and something i never could get used to. Also, many of the bullets are different colors and can be very difficult to see sometimes. I do like when you get hit everything stops for a quick moment. Nice chunky pixel graphics, branching paths and huge bosses too. You also earn continues by gameplay time instead of just getting unlimited continues from the start which is great, although once you reach level 7,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DeltaZeal is a incredible classic 1990's style vertical 2 player arcade shooter from Triangle pulling from the very best history of companies like Raizing and Cave. Filled from beginning to end with fantastic pixel art, beautiful parallax scrolling, massive bosses, multiple paths, excellent sound and audio as well as extremely tight controls. Very inexpensive for the high quality you get and worth every penny. The highest possible recommendation for this game to old school shooter fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very well-rounded shmup with excellent sprite art and arcade feel. Well, this was in an arcade in Japan, there is no faux stuff here, if you play well it gets balls-to-the-wall hard. There is simplicity in its mechanics at the surface but a lot of depth thanks to the three-weapon based power up system and the black hole special weapon. You collect medals that grow in value ala Battle Garegga and depending how you perform you get entirely different versions of the stages, some of them very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good score based shmup by Triangle Service that brought us XIIZeal. Combine your three main weapons (wide, laser, missiles) the way you want by powering them up and destroy everything that moves. Featuring great level design, a wide assortment of enemies and many secret stuff. Online leaderboards and TATE mode are also implemented. Highly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a lot to praise in DeltaZeal. The gameplay is fun, the power up mechanic is very unique and interesting, the blackhole attack is a very nice addition that gives more defensive options to players, and the presentation is solid. However, the game suffer from one MAJOR design flaw... and that is the horrendous visual clarity. While making a shmup, it is very important to make every element on a stage visible to players and make sure they don't blend together. A lot of shmups use distinct…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the pixel graphics and the music. The power-up mechanic is cool and the shooting is fun. Poor projectile clarity ruins the game for me unfortunately.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arcade version was definitely more fun, maybe only due to atmosphere. Visual clarity at an all-time low, and the hitbox detection isn't great. The game lags prior to projectile collision, essentially widening the size of your hitbox in the sense that you have less space to dodge something than you think you would, because once it stutters you're dead, even if you had another 1cm+ of space before collision. Like the game seems to project that your death is imminent, loads assets for that, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a awesome shooter game! This is where it's at but it's very hard and to me it's worth every dollar. If you love a good arcade challenge then this will be just right for you and the bosses are epic and HUGE Trust me you will love this game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The weapon system is really cool and it's a fun game, but MAN there are a lot of small bullets with low visibility that are coming at you VERY fast at times. Certain sections just feel a bit too bullsh*t for me to recommend this. That being said, if you love the old fast shmups that people often describe as bullsh*t, you may like this one.

unlabelledView post →Compared to Triangle Service's past works, Trizeal was a well rounded STG that didn't use a fragile PCB (G-Stream G2020 aka DeltaZeal) or PlayStation hardware (XII Stag aka XIIZEAL). After all, both the NAOMI and Dreamcast were still supported at the time; Remix was built off from Exzeal however.

unlabelledView post →This game is more like Raiden sequel than XII Zeal sequel. It was rebranded into Zeal series simply because it was made by the same company. So, if you like Raiden, you may like this game. Can save replay. Have online leaderboard. Can view replays from online leaderboard. I saw two replays that seems to not be a valid replay, but their scores are close to the valid top score. Either hacked or desync'ed. The game starts with 3 credits and it will increase the more you play. It seems the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For whatever reason, DELTAZEAL is the only Triangle Service game I keep coming back to play time and time again. It's kinda written off as just another Raiden clone by some--and it does feel a lot like any Seibu Kaihatsu or even a Psikyo game--but the weapon system, branching paths, and weapon system keep the gameplay interesting and reshreshing. However, no game is without flaws and I have a couple complaints: 1) The enemy bullets are waaaaaay too hard to see sometimes. I'll have a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will stream this week's edition of "Thursday Retro Game Emporium", which sees me play the Sega Genesis version of Venom & Spider-Man: Separation Anxiet and DELTAZEAL, at a much earlier time today at 1:30 PM PT, so see you all in 58 minute's time, Hyper Seekers! #Vtuber #ENVtubers
unlabelledView post →There’s so much to commend about this one—the gorgeous pixel art, the catchy soundtrack, the varied routes both between stages and within them. The stage 6 background might be one of my favorites in any shmup—a dense cityscape turning to night as you battle a massive enemy battleship. Unfortunately the bullet visibility issue is such a fundamental problem that it makes recommending this one impossible for me. They simply blend in with everything—the backgrounds, the medals, your own shots,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun shooter that is ruined by one fatal flaw. As other reviewers have mentioned, certain enemy bullets are nearly impossible to spot. Whose genius idea was it to make the enemy bullets blend into the background? This often results in sudden deaths that are nearly unavoidable unless you have eagle eyes. Ultimately, Deltazeal is a fun shooter that will take a huge dump on you with it's, all too common, cheap shots.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best shmups on Steam!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful presentation and menu system. Unplayable in full screen mode. So pathetically bad that, if it were free, it wouldn't even be worth the energy you would spend to click the button to add it to your account.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hidden gem for shooter fans! This is a port of an Xbox 360 game, so either use an Xbox game pad or check the controls before you start.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This really brings back the feel of mid to late 90s arcade shooters in a great way. The pixel art is nice & detailed, sound effects are sharp & crisp, and the music really gets your head bobbin'. In terms of style the game is impeccable. The game also supports vertical monitor setups, with video options for 90-degree rotations, as well as scaling and screen positioning. The gameplay is also really nice. There's quite a bit of enemies that show up in every stage, and also a decent amount of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you loved Xiizeal, this game is a worthy successor. Gets rid of the weird waggle mechanic from the previous game and utilizes a triple-powerup system not unlike Wolflame. I like it and I recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →G Stream 2020 ! this is just awesome First time I played this game I was hooked up to it for hours but I didn't think i would see it again as the original game was arcade only and had a bad reputation for Overheating Hardware and serious sound problems. Now,The name changed but the sound is cristal clear and i can enjoy the glorious Soundtrack.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good, and tight, I was surprised how good this was - note that the longer you keep playing the more credits they give you, so even if you suck a lot of you can beat this - it's tough though as it should be :D - best time when played on max difficulty
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's weird today but it sometimes happens that developers purposefully create a game "like this other one". Deltazeal has developer's comments, and he clearly says that he wanted to create a game "like Raiden", and it shows.
unlabelledView post →DELTAZEAL is a deliberately old-school vertical shoot ’em up that proudly embraces its arcade heritage, offering a tightly focused experience built around precision, memorization, and strategic weapon management. Developed by TRIANGLE SERVICE and published on Steam by KOMODO, the game is a revival of an early-2000s arcade title that wears its era on its sleeve. Rather than modernizing the genre with accessibility features or cinematic flair, DELTAZEAL commits fully to the traditions of classic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible retro shmup. I'll have some settings to enjoy this to perfection for Nvidia users in the discussion forum. I tried to add it here but ran out of characters unfortunately, which I didn't know was a thing for Steam reviews until just now! I'll start with the one con - 720P max and exclusive fullscreen only. So the key to this game is set to 720p windowed mode and lossless scaling as 2 x integer scaling mode for 1440 or 3x for 4K, and it will look incredible as well as be in a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bit frantic but fun; awesome pixel graphics. yeah, as many others pointed out: enemy bullets? i see ♥♥♥♥.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can recommend this to you if you're a skilled or master shmup player but anyone new or casual to the genre may not like a lot going on here like: The bad: Some enemy bullets are the same color as your wide shot. This is also the same color as the score badges that drop off of ships. The other most common enemy bullet color you'll see is orange... which is the same color as explosions which will be all over the screen. Lastly, it doesn't matter how many continues you have left when you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Other than Mebius releasing Triangle Sevice's mini-game collection, the 'meat' of their shmups Trizeal / DeltaZeal haven't been re-released physically since the X360 releases Now even those versions are expensive & the digital copies are delisted Ripe for the picking, IMHO
unlabelledView post →There isn’t a lot to say about this one. It’s… fine? It’s a bit more of a standard shmup compared to XIIzeal, in that you just have the one weapon without the blade attack. It’s a lot better than it probably should be, considering it employs just about every terrible element these games often do (super fast scrolling backgrounds, sudden jerky panorama shifts horizontally/diagonally that completely F up your dodging or aiming, and bullets that are difficult to decipher from everything else…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was ever a ''diamond in the rough'' or a ''hidden gem'' then this one counts, it really counts. This game has something most other games can't seem to understand, good, grimy, muddy and downright rough looking pixel art that gives the game an authentic feel, it reminds me a lot of the old RAIDEN TRAD game, in a very very good way. The music is outstanding, gotta give props to level 3 music the most. The powerup system is interesting, and quite fun and challenging that ends up…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deltazeal is a return to the 90s style shoot 'em ups I enjoy so very much. Simple game mechanics, outstanding pixel graphics and an excellent challenge without being overly brutal. The mechanics that that make Deltazeal standout are the way power ups work. The game has the standard wide shot, missiles and lasers. However, the game lets the player mix and match these weapons and upgraded version along a power up track. Each time a power up is picked up it gets add to the right of the the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First i am going to say that this game is not bad. However I can only recomend it if you buy it with discount. at current price i can´t recomend it as in my point of view is expensive for what it is compared to other shmups games in the market. Pros: - There is nothing wrong in gameplay mechanics , bullet patterns. graphic and sound while not great do their service. the game is fun to play. - It is good to have a classic shmup (not bullet hell) in this era as the simple and classic gameplay…
