I fail to understand how copy-pasting files from WO to WU is such an exhausting undertaking, but thats neither here nor there. Devs know that monthly subscriptions far outpace single purchases, therefore WO gets "updates," and WU gets thrown aside. This is the singular reason for abandoning WU, there are no others. Do not buy this game, and do not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**A Review of *Wurm Online Unlimited*** *By Arthur Schopenhauer* There exists a subspecies of game that mistakes punishment for profundity. *Wurm* is its high priest. Consider the labour. To fell a tree, one clicks, and waits. To shape a plank, one clicks, and waits. To move the plank, one carries it, individually, across a continent, and waits. The progression is not earned; it is *served*, a sentence measured in thousands of hours, each second indistinguishable from the last. The interface…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, I absolutely loved this game. I started playing Wurm Online around 2011. When I found out that the game was being released as a standalone game, I knew I had to pick it up. Unfortunately, the years have not been kind to this game. I anticipated updates alongside the main Wurm Online game. And we got that. Until late 2019. I guess focus shifted. I don't expect a game to be updated for decades, but it would've been nice if there was a bit more support. It really had potential to be a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have a life, don't bother with this game. I don't understand how people can actually get anywhere on this game and have a life at the same time. It takes hours upon hours to do even the most basic of tasks. Put that time and effort into something in the real world.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, I have to give Wurm Unlimited a negative review. The game feels abandoned by its developers, who have shifted their focus to Wurm Online. In comparison, Wurm Unlimited lacks essential features, updated graphics, a polished interface, and even the option for a third-person camera present in Wurm Online. It's disappointing to see the lack of development and support for Wurm Unlimited, especially when its counterpart continues to receive regular updates and ongoing support. So while…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very out of date. No longer maintained. Several issues with game client. Don't recommend purchasing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, I like Wurm Unlimited, but it's got enough issues that'll make it a pass for a lot of people. It's gameplay is something similar to what I've seen described as 'peasant simulators' - other members of this category would be 'Vintage Story' or 'TerraFirmaCraft'. It's characterized by slow-based, gradual progress - it makes it feel rewarding when you finally manage to set up a shed after three hours, but those three hours are pretty grueling, especially if you're playing alone. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game - yes the graphics are a little bit dated, but the games depth is fantastic. From cooking to building to exploration, it is pretty darn good - my 2300 plus hours says it all
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Survival, sandbox crafting games are very popular and very common these days. Ark, Conan Exiles, Valheim, Enshrouded, Terraria, Stardew Valley, and of course Minecraft, to name a few. All these games (and many others like them) are great. However, I think Wurm stands above all of them for being a far richer, deeper, and more meaningful experience. Unlike those other games, you're not going to be able to build a giant castle in a couple nights, or have to complete a linear campaign of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started playing Wurm online around 2005, I had been looking for a game that is a true sandbox. This is it. Wurm unlimited is a version that allows people to vreate thier own servers. though it doesnt get updates anymore it is still awesome to play, you buy once and thats it. no subscrition. the servers are all modded so you can find one you like. WO is a grind, the mods lesson that grind and allow you to have more fun with the game quicker. the game itself is amazingly deep. theres tons of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite games of all time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked the MMO, but want to advance through the game really quickly on an offline single player kinda way, then this is a great game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy, Do not play, if you are interested at all, flame the Devs on the forum and continue reporting their financials for review, they have been farming a small community of addicted players for decades now and delivered about 4 innovative updates in all of this time, Also Wurm Unlimited was abandoned and sectioned away from Wurm Online content or development/upkeep/service support entirely, these are the scum of the Cosmos, they should all be in prison suffering for the rest of their…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Life before death. Strength before weakness. Gameplay before graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy game. Totally 100% unplayable using modern video settings because the menu is so small you can't even read it. This has to be fixed before anyone should buy game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nearly 8000 hours in-game. I've played on five or six different servers. It's an MMO in the sense that the world is shared with other players, but most servers are sparsely populated. It's an old game and the interface is clunky. There's not a lot of strategy in it. The PVP implementation stinks. But if you like building and crafting, this is still the game for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the game, so sad they abandoned it for Wurm Online. I do like that to, but WU just had so much more. If you get WU, be ware that its abandoned by Code Club long ago and solely survive off of the mod developers that keep servers alive. They are just cashing in on others work from here on. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a game that cant be played alone, but you have to as the player base is dead. development is dead. no updates or anything in 4 years. its been abandoned by the devs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wurm used to be gorgeous back in the early 2000s (I spent hundreds of hours playing it as a kid from 2004-2006), but today I would not recommend it. It has aged poorly. After adding fantasy creatures, it lost its charm, and the game is extremely slow. In my opinion, it is only for people willing to waste too much free time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot like Eve Online (and I want to make clear that is not a compliment in any way) this game can be described as tedious. And I hesitate to even call it a game as it is closer to a second job that you'd keep playing only because of the sunk cost fallacy. This game lacks MAJOR quality of life improvements such as: the ability to continue an action until success or until stopped, the ability to RUN, the ability to jump, the ability to zoom your camera in/out, esc not closing the window that is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The depth in this game is amazing. You'll be blown away by the complexity of combining different items to create even something basic. But to me, that is the draw. I don't mind that things take a long time to accomplish. It's very therapeutic in a way, very free. Especially as someone who loves to create and wishes he could build things in the real world, being able to sublimate that desire through Wurm is great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brings back all the fun things I liked about Wurm Online, without having to pay for premium account, and is supported by a mod community that makes for a highly customize-able world.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's address the elephant in the room first: Wurm Unlimited is no longer in active development, with the last major updates coming years ago. If you're looking for a live-service game with frequent patches and new content, this isn't it. There are a few minor bugs, and installing mods can introduce additional issues, but the base game itself is surprisingly stable and in a very playable state. That said, I absolutely love this game —and its online counterpart, Wurm Online. Few games offer the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I still think Sklotopolis is the best server to join don't get me wrong but it became Political with me. The server owner Dominic was against Brexit in the UK. (see forum post) It wasn't until recently I discovered he still wants to have jibes over it for some reason, I get he has a view on it but you should never bring that into a game or a business. The funny thing is I couldn't care less about Brexit, he assume that because I have UK in my name I voted for Brexit which isn't the case. Very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An immersive free, alternative to Wurm Online the best servers currently are; Genesis for kids, Sklotopolis for grown ups.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You have to right click to activate your shovel, to right click to dig, to find out you can't dig because your digging level is too low... 10/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I give this a recommend but this unabashedly has to be your kind of game to be enjoyable. If you like games that are slow burn and focus on the experience of building and creating rather than intense action, you might enjoy Wurm. It scratches an itch for categorization and improvement that almost no other game out there does. It's janky, it's not pretty, it's not -that- intuitive, but it'll be fun if this is your kind of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is for ages. No matter how exited you are in any new game - you will come back here eventually.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two notable issues with this game, so while I like Wurm Online, I'll be refunding this one. Firstly, it requires copying files around in the game folder to stop the game crashing on launch on Linux, unacceptable for a game that costs 23 pounds when Wurm Online works just fine. In case you need help, here's the forum post that fixed it: "If I remember correctly, I had an error concerning the libsteam_api.so file at first and I fixed it by copying that file from /WurmLauncher/nativelibs…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great way to lose track of a few thousand hours. This game has quite a lot you can do in it, and is quite sandboxy, though a touch grindy here and there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been playing Wurm for 15 years (WO+WU), 11,736.8 hrs on record, one of the most addicting crafting games ever. No game has ever given me more enjoyment for the money and time spent. So many great player run servers (Sklotopolis is my favorite) with great mods, content and community. Or play singleplayer if you need a break from people....

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GREAT GAME BEEN 9171 HRS ON DIFFERNT SERVERS
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such an underrated game so so deep and dont let the simpler graphic put you off its an awsome deep game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you´re the type of gamer that enjoys a grind and levelling system similar to OSRS but the gameplay and possibilities offered by Minecraft, Wurm Unlimited will likely be your new addiction. The steep learning curve is made light and easy by the supportive community of fellow players. The options and possibilities seem pretty endless but you feel immersed immediately. It´s a laidback game you can while away hours on. 10/10 would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad combat system. hard to tell what the hell is going on. Does not like big screens. no UI scaling settings. and No i am not in 4k To much work for what its worth. if you want more of an clunky clicky mess of a game. then this is for you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like if Valheim was like super fiddly. If getting a bit sweaty about crafting and grinding is attractive to you, then Wurm may be your flavor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There really is no other game like Wurm. A lot of games try to capture what makes it special, but none of them come close. Wurm has, hands down, the best crafting and skill progression system I’ve ever played. Other games get close in certain areas, but they always fall short somewhere. Every time I try something new in a similar genre, I end up comparing it to Wurm, and it honestly ruins the experience. Pax Dei? Ruined. Medieval Dynasty? Ruined. Life is Feudal? Ruined. So many survival and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freedom of choice, when , how and what to do, just wish it was continued and updated, I just want more MORE of everything
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6 hours... to look up research and attempt to fish.... the mix mash of legacy and new fishing systems makes it actually impossible to fish. 6 hours to try and fish... still can't fish with the help of the wiki, and every single guide, as well as the full power of AI to assist. ♥♥♥♥ this game. Don't play it if you just want to play a game, rather than dive through code to change settings and rehost your own private server to just be able to... 'play'
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a lot of grinding but also very satisfying. I wished there was a Wurm2 that updated the UI, graphics and quality of life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An immersive, free alternative to Wurm Online. currently Sklotopolis (infinity) is the most active server and has been for some time. with Genesis being more for kids to mess about on but equally, worth a look.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have no slightest clue how i racked up so much time in this game. Its rough, developement stopped and community is dwindling. Yet its... cozy. Love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is dead. Do not waste your time on it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Grindy and poor combat but a chill building and exploration game when that's what you're in the mood for.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a couple bucks it's worth it just to be able to explore really old game servers that have years of history in them. So personally, I absolutely love that. But for the average person, nah, it's just too open-ended and old to be much fun to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve been a dedicated Wurm Unlimited player since 2015, and with over 4,700 hours in the game, I can confidently say it’s one of the most immersive and rewarding sandbox experiences out there. Few games manage to capture the feeling of truly shaping a world with your own hands the way Wurm does. The depth of the crafting, terraforming, and building systems is unmatched. Every road, building, ship, and landscape feels like a genuine accomplishment. Whether I’m working on a long-term project,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got unlimited when it first came out. Doing my own server was fun for a minute but after awhile kind of boring. Finding the right one that was open with a decent amount of other people playing a little bit harder. Finally did it though! I found THE ONE server that's wholesome. Give Sklotopolis a try you wont regret it :D!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game, a lot of improvement and QOL mod for the Sklotopolis server, I found that community server completely by surprise last year and im having a great experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the best game ever made. This game offers a lot and seems to have the potential for endless hours of gameplay. The modding community is amazing and has created incredible quality of life upgrades as well as new items, much better than what the official Wurm Online has. Player mods like ago's client mod launcher, bdew's action mod, roselyndsshadow's repeataction keep this game up to date in terms of quality of life, when the game itself is much better than all newer alternatives by a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an older game that has been developed and maintained over the years. There are 2 versions "Wurm Unlimited" and "Wurm Online". I would recommend trying Wurm Online first see if you like it, but then I would highly recommend buying a copy of Wurm Unlimited. There are some major differences, but the core game is a massive multiplayer survival simulator with a mix of fantasy and realism elements. Incredibly deep item and skill systems and freedom to expore, build, team up, battle and engage…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have you ever wanted to spend 16 hours mining for metal? Me too. 100/10. A really amazing game that unfortunately doesn't have as large of a community as it once did, I recommend this game a lot, coming from someone who's tried Wurm Online before, at a younger age and couldn't figure it out, having Wurm Unlimited is a blessing! Pick it up if you haven't!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The biggest time sink of a game. Even Walking is painfully slow. Plenty of other games that are more worth anyone's time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its peaceful and relaxing to me and i enjoy it more then any new game out there
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the depth, complexity and charm of this game. Great community and many things to do.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun and friendly servers lots of world building
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slightly better than the MMO because you can speed up the massive grind, but without the population of the MMO it's terribly boring, hard to recommend
