I don't play games often. My grandkids got me into this game. The last game I put this much time into was Breath of the Wild which this game has a few similarities to. I hope the tree is going to be a bridge to other realms as large as this one. I highly recommend! After 1447 hours so far I'd say it's worth the money.

When I first played Legends: Arceus, I thought it was the best Pokemon game ever. It had most of the "this is what a perfect Pokemon game" features: big, open worlds, riding Pokemon, reasons to explore and discovering brand new things. But then I played Palworld and realized: THIS is the best Pokemon game ever. Pokemon's biggest flaws (in my opinion) and how Palworld solves them: * The majority of Pokemon are functionally useless. Whether it's stats, move pools, or typing, the majority of…

This is not "Pokémon with guns", this is Ark Survival Evolved with Pokémon. If you like survival/crafting games and like monster catching games, there is nothing better on the market than Palworld, period. This comes from someone who has been playing Pokémon since generation 1. It came out when I was in middle school and I have played every mainline game and most of the side games. I'm still a fan of Pokémon, but this is such a fresh take on the monster catching genre that Gamefreak has a ton…

I play this game for 4 reasons: 1. To give Nintendo the finger 2. Because it is everything Pokemon could have been, and MORE. 3. I particularly enjoy survival games. It feels like there is actually a reason to progress and keep pushing on. And the replayability? Oh my god... this is still in early access??? There's more?? 4. To give Nintendo the other finger Edit: Someone in comments mentioned my ripe 1.7 hours on record. Game does in fact exist outside of Steam (another plus) and I've got my…

This is one of those games where you log in with a specific goal in mind, and then 4 hours pass. You'll go out to get materials, build something, or catch a specific Pal, but instead end up exploring a new area of the map, finding dungeons, uncommon Pals, and becoming completely sidetracked. Great game, highly recomend it. And there's a new patch update happening soon.

Palworld gives you options ... whether you die and lose your items or not; how much daylight and night you want; gives you many options to breed pals and; most of all since I'm an elderly and had a stoke, it allows the option to make the fight less difficult.

When it first came out in Early Access, my nephew asked if I wanted to play with him. I watched a bit but said, 'F*** no—that's not a game for me.' The color palette? Just NO F***ING WAY I'd ever play that." "A month later, my son asked if we could play together. Reluctantly, I said sure; I thought it would give us a few hours of playtime. So, I bought the game and joined him... Now, 404 hours later, here I am at 2:53 AM. I can't wait for the damn v1.0 to come out in a few hours! :D

I'll just do one thing. Finds a new Pal. Builds a better base. Unlocks new tech. Gets distracted by something else. Somehow, every distraction is progress. Started as "Pokémon with guns." Became one of the best sandbox survival games I've played. Pocketpair listened, improved, and kept building on the idea. This is how Early Access should be done.

After more than 100 hours, I can confidently say this is the game every Pokémon fan has dreamed about since they were a kid. Catching Pals, building your base, exploring the world, fighting bosses, automating tasks, creating the perfect team... there's always something to do. I log in thinking I'll play for 30 minutes, and before I know it, three hours have disappeared. The funniest part is that the game doesn't end when I close it. I installed Palworld thinking: “haha Pokémon with guns.” I am now running an armed labor camp, my base is powered by sadness, and my cutest Pal has a higher kill count than me. The game lies to you at the start. It shows trees, sunshine, and adorable creatures. Then suddenly you’re: - Assigning Pals to factories like a corporate demon - Arming a fox with an AK-47 - Cooking food while being shot by bandits - Wondering if the Geneva Convention applies to digital animals Your Pals are cute,…

I genuinely had way more fun with this than I expected. Playing with friends is 100% the best part. Everyone ends up doing their own thing, someone disappears for an hour, someone else comes back with five new Pals, and somehow everything still works. Also... having an entire base full of Pals doing all the work while I walk around pretending I'm being productive is way funnier than it should be. The world is also way bigger than it looks. I first thought hat Palworld was skating a little too close to copyright infringement for me, but then I realized they might actually be the good guys, as Nintendo was preparing to patent every trivial game mechanic. Creative imitation bordering on copyright infringement isn’t nearly as bad as patent trolling, so I jumped in with my two daughters and they love it, even the younger one who never got into Pokemon. It’s been our biggest family hit so far (after Terraria, Age of Mythology,…

I'm addicted to Palworld, and got several of my friends hooked too. Nintendo sued because Pocketpair legitimately made a better game. All of the "patents" Nintendo filed after the fact, are gameplay mechanics that a dozen games used even before the 1st Pokemon game was released, and that hundreds of games have used before Palworld entered early access.

Palworld is stupid fun in the best way. It looks cute at first, then suddenly you’re crafting guns, catching creatures, building factories, and letting those same adorable creatures run your entire operation like overworked employees. The loop is addictive: explore, catch, build, upgrade, repeat. Yeah, it’s chaotic and a bit janky at times, but honestly that’s part of the charm. Watching a tiny smiling Pal operate heavy machinery or fire a rifle never stops being entertaining. Solo or with…

This game is virtual crack. Palworld was a game when at release, people tried to compare to pokemon when the games cannot be anymore different. Palworld offers its own unique experience combining multiple survival/craft elements with a creature capture system and blends it all together very well. Pros: Art style: The art style for palworld is really good and expected for a game like this. While its not "cutting edge" graphics, the world is still beautiful and it has its awe moments. Once…

By and large, the biggest thing I noted about Palworld, that matters a lot to me, is the interaction and functionality that Pokemon lacks. Because that is the big thing, try and escape it, this game will always be up against Pokemon, it is inescapable. Sure, pokemon isn't a survival game thing. But I was telling someone how your pals provide practicality and functionality as opposed to Pokemon, once upon a time Pokemon had to use HMs. But that was just a means of clearing obstacles to actually…

This game takes what worked from other survival titles such as Ark: Survival Evolved, Conan Exiles, and The Forest and mixes them together. I don’t like calling it “Pokémon with guns,” because the game doesn’t follow a JRPG-style linear story. Instead, it’s a free-roam survival experience, despite the similar art style and creature-capture mechanics (which have been around far longer than Pokémon). The controls are well done, and the creature progression feels fair. No Pal goes…

I've put 1200+ hours in with multiple playthroughs. Palworld is an anomaly of everything I want a creature collector to be. I love this game completely. The only downside is (in my opinion) I wish they would focus more on actual content than doing collaborations with other games since it seems to be slowing down their major updates as of late, and some of the features they introduce with these collaborations don't seem to always fit into the world. Don't mistake this game for a copy, it has its own soul, flair and cohesion. Palworld is an open-world creature-focused game with survival mechanics, and although this combination may seem overwhelming at first, the implementation truly takes advantage of every one of those aspects. The creatures, called Pals in-game, are not only your adventure friends, that help you navigate through the world and fend off hostile Pals and other humans, but are also your workforce helpers. I post a negative review simply to get the attention of the developers if possible. This game is great. But it is heavily held back by one fact. It discourages using unique pals and teams and discourages the use of pals found earlier in the game. I chose to level up one of my favorite pals, Grizzbolt. He is currently 4 stars and fully upgraded in all of his stats. He has higher attack, defense, and health then my legendary pals. Yet he doesn't do nearly as well as a zero star legendary pal who…

Pokémon with guns got me back into gaming at 43 As a 43-year-old dad who barely gets any gaming time anymore, this looked way too childish for me at first glance. Then I stumbled across some YouTube reviews talking about how well it runs on the Steam Deck. "Pokémon with guns and base building" sounded fun enough to give it a shot. A few weeks in, I keep coming back to it and genuinely enjoy it. Personally, I find it pretty challenging — I die regularly because I walk into fights or areas…

Despite the memes of "its pokemon with guns!", it is in fact...Not Pokemon. Are there cute, cuddly creatures to collect? Yes! Can you catch them in a portable device? Also yes! But the actual meat and bones of this game is BY FAR more akin to the gameplay loop of ARK than anything Pokemon has pumped out ever. I prefer to describe it to my friends as "ARK with a Pokemon mod added to it" because that's how it plays. And I, obviously with my 600+ hours at the time of writing this, adore this…

If Palworld was still in early access, the current level of development would be justified. I'm sure it would be a game of all times if it spent a couple more years in the oven. Sadly, from what I've read, the developer doesn't plan on anything beyond fixing bugs and polishing the game, so I guess it's safe not to expect any massive reworks in the future.
