Introduction: World of Contraptions is a physics-based building game made by JCP Games Studio. As a player you’ll come across many different levels each of which poses different challenges every time. Your job is to build a contraption to overcome those challenges and get the “companion block”…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look at the parts and think of something, and you can probably make it work. -Overview- World of Contraptions (WoC) is a physics-based building game that sees players construct vehicles piece by piece in order to overcome obstacles and reach the end of the level. The physics system is very good, as is the experience of building and operating your creations. A surprisingly large quantity of levels is included, though they lack variety somewhat in challenge and visual themes. This may change as…

unlabelledView post →The game has so much more potential. The art style of the components would certainly lend itself to a change of scenery, I was disappointed at the constant white and grey levels and white overcast sky. In terms of building, its very difficult to make smaller devices as the snapping tools (while quite effective) were incredibly limiting. I wouldn't mention it if it were helping with physics bugs, but it certainly does not. I can't count how many times an otherwise very simple machine just…

unlabelledView post →Great fun if you enjoy building robots/contraptions to perform tasks. The later levels are definitely difficult, especially if you are trying to go for the optional objectives and gathering all the stars on each level. I have completed 95%, but still some have me stumped but will keep trying. Thanks to the developers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun and challenging game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Contraption building game like Besieged. The biggest difference is the fine-grained controls for building: You can subdivide block faces and use any of the subdivisions as the anchor point. Blocks can be rotated with small intervals. You can control which blocks stick together and how - its finally possible to start a level with two adjacent blocks that aren't glued together. You can have a rotational connection (that can be powered by a motor) between any two blocks. Motor and hinge controls…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's broken. try turning a wheel via contact to another wheel please. it seems there is no "gearing" functionality.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I get irrationally angry at the camera in build mode auto zooming in to parts that I place and the lack of a chase camera on the companion block.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An extremely fun and engaging puzzle-solving physics game. It's almost as much fun when contraptions don't work as when they do. Comes with 100 puzzles in the campaign, each with its own challenges, and provides a level editor as well. I especially like the rich selection of components, allowing for a lot of creative freedom in designing contraptions; and the "logic" UI allows automating them in a variety of ways. Excellent value for money, and highly entertaining.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. It reminds me a lot of Armadillo run, but with robotics. Worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game had a steam issue during Go-Live and the dev was very responsive and got the issue resolved quickly. This is the kind of interaction I like seeing in an early access. The game itself runs well, and I'm enjoying it. The game is fairly polished, but for a puzzle physics builder, I can see some more refinement making it more enjoyable. There seems to be a lot of workshop support, I haven't tested any of it, but contraptions + level builder caught my eye. I only have one complaint.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I disagree with many of the other reviewers about "unrealistic" physics or "extremely repetitive" level design. I play quite a decent amount of physics and building games (Scrap Mechanic, Trailmakers, Main Assembly, etc) and this is generally on-par with those in terms of physics. None of them have what I would call "realistic" physics, but it's a video game man...the physics are there and generally enjoyable. There is some repitition in level, but with 2 caveats - the repeat levels are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All I can say so far is this game is VERY FUN! Total freedom solve things your way. Excellent building environment, physics and control features. Tutorial is just enough to get you ready to be creative with an arsenal of items. Total freedom to be creative, retry and replay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →on-par with besiege building in my opinion! I love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of like Besiege, and somehow more fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an amazing game. It's complex, and varied, and very well executed. It's a sandbox machine creation tool. Look at the gameplay! You can make all kinds of crazy things, more than you think from the vids (which are impressive). You have telescopic arms, decouplers, hinges, along with total control of how those behave. I'm pretty sure if you can dream it, you can build it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know a physics based game is good when you haven't got off the easy stages because you keep making crazy stuff instead of actually solving the level. It's similar to Beseige, but I never fully clicked with that game for some reason. Although this doesn't have any flying elements I prefer all of the ground based mechanics in this game. There are some weird physics bugs as with anything like this, but mostly either when a wheel is rubbing on another part, or your contraption is flying…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a physics game with horrible physics and level design. It could have been good if the developer had put in just a little more effort into it. The game suffers from the following issues; - Low gravity - Low weight on blocks - Unrealistic behavior of blocks - Boring and repetitive level design with very little variation - Annoying default controls both in building and driving - Annoying default settings on parts, such as wheels not defaulting to spin Now you could look away from the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game in between of besieged and The Incredible Machine.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little buggy, but it's extremely fun especially when you've got a couple friends who play and you can share your ridiculous contraptions. Definitely worth the 10 bucks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is basically my idea of a perfect game. English in tutorials a bit dodgy but everything else lovely. Can you guys have a word with the lads at Kerbal Space programme and teach them how to make a building platform?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me of Besiege, but with with a more modern environment. Game with a great potential. Tons of fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If Minecraft and Lego Mindstorm had a baby with Beseige this would be it. Good quality, fun gameplay, and all the tools are available at the start. Just jump in and start building, its freaking awesome!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game and I am excited to see how the last 5 maps look like. Check my videos and don't be shy to subscribe :D https://youtu.be/2KPhdJ8JyRI
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that clearly has a lot of interesting potential, but I just couldn't get past the actual building interface being an absolutely awful pain. When you manage to make something as basic and common as copy-paste into unintuitive jank, you really need to take another look at what you're doing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →quite fun for a few hours if you get over the weird inability to move blocks after you've placed them... eventually you'll hit a wall where the physics are too strange (acceleration makes you fly, etc.) or the simple thing you want to do (bend something 90 degrees) but can't do becomes frustrating, and that's okay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is World of Contraptions: store.steampowered.com/app/681640/W...
unlabelledView post →This is an engineering complex game, I like it, makes you seek for different perspectives and to analyze specific situations, I specially reccomend to play this game if you are studying an engineering.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very repetitive puzzles and a lack of some parts that seem critical to some objectives. The gold and silver star secondary objectives don't add much challenge to the levels. They instead make you attach long bits to hang off the map and grab them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. a few little bugs but great execution on the building part
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GOOD GAME BUT DEVS PLS ADD MORE STUFF AND UPDATES PLS
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wonky physics with clunky controls and, despite looking everywhere, my laptop does not, in fact, have keys for a "kp 6", "kp 4", OR "kp 8" axis. I tried using my xbox one controller, but it didn't seem to recognize it, so I couldn't get rocket thrusters to work. Regardless, if you're looking for a "make contraptions with slightly janky 3D physics" game, you should go play Space Engineers.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great game that feels like a combination of Poly Bridge, KSP, and Besiege. It is really fun creating different vehicles and devices in order to reach the end location. There are a ton of different blocks, as well as many unique features. There is even the ability to program your vehicles using a drag and drop style programming language in order to automate specific tasks. Overall, this game is a hidden gem and I definitely recommend trying it out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Physics feels broken and levels aren't enjoyable. Generally speaking, I can't get my vehicles to do what I want, because I 'm unable to predict how the physics will behave. Gravity is too low. Some blocks are .. bouncy ? for some reason. The steering mechanic is broken. I first thought I was doing it bad, but looking at the tutorial confirmed me that no. Steering is just broken. Plus, I find it to be a bit "hard" to find, I first though there were none. The levels are repetitive and often…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game wish the turtorial's less boring since they are kinda needed
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i don't play this anymore but i do know its a little bit challenging
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game sounds and looks, and feels like a game for engineers so if you consider downloading it.. be ready for a challenge for a dream of a contraption... to a hell of not working functions, but otherwise fun game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Selection of motion hinges and pivot points is lacking a bit. Physics is ok at best.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some wonky physics when parts are colliding, and some fine angle tuning and suspension adjusting is missing. But it's a good game for anyone who likes to build contraptions and figure out creative ways to solve a physics puzzle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good price and lots of possibilities
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good and addicting game that uses a lot of creativity, cant wait for the new parts to see whats next and open up new opportunities!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed the campaign and the freedom to solve levels in very different ways due to the variety in block design. Well worth the price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought the game because of a video I saw on Youtube, and I'm glad I did, It's a fun game which gets you thinking and puts you In a creative mode
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game, more levels please
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the way you build in this game. I have so many sandbox games and this one is probably better than Trailmakers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →World of Contraptions - I by no means had any idea if this was going to be good or not after watching a single YouTube video on it, but it seemed quite interesting. I had to check it out, and lo and behold it was a fantastic experience. This game promotes creativity & mechanics to an extreme matched by no other at this price point. It is in extremely early access, so the bugs & wacky physics can be forgiven, although they are annoying at times and cause certain designs that; in theory, would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good. Missing a few things that I'm sure will come with time. However I do have one complaint: you can't make tracks :'(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mostly good physics allows you to approach problems in creative ways. I really like this - just wish it had more levels!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →World of Contraptions will test you to your limits. The out of the box thinking alongside sometimes unforgivable physics makes this game one that will have you pulling out your hair as well as jumping for joy when you finally solve that pesky level. I recommend this game for anyone that played Fantastic Contraptions back in the early 2000's. Come with and patience and leave satisfied.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, tons of different blocks with many functions. If you liked fantastic contraption or besiege, give this game a shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very intuitive to build, fun challenges you can approach in multiple ways. Love how structures can get too wobbly but then the point to point reinforcement allows you to beef em up with some diagonal bracing. Just going through the included maps and I'm having a blast! One pointer: maybe there should be a reminder or something that you need to press "c" when attaching a non-wheel object to a rotor in order for it to turn. Hello from Imgur!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →superb mechanism!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game. There's a really short tutorial to get you started in building and then you can play how you like. The building is easy to pick up and let you be as creative as you want. So far I haven't seen any two people solve the tracks in the same way. That really says a lot about the flexibility of the building system. The building block set is pretty great. It feels well thought out. Absolutely worth the price.
