42 of 42 · most liked firstWhile this game is extremely fun, there is practically no fanbase or community for it. If this game were to gain momentum, I would recommend it. However, with a lack of any new players, with practically nonexistent current players I sadly cannot. What this game honestly needs is to go free, with some sort of "special edition" or type of DLC. This game is extremely fun, and I want to see it expand. But until then, I cannot recommend a game that wasn't alive enough to deserve to be called dead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game goes from "oh what a silly party game" to "this is the most ruthless, cutthroat time I've ever spent puzzling and I hate all of my friends now" in one evening flat. Make no mistake, the game is _fun_. I have a lot of straight up FUN playing it. But oh boy is it competitive. The balance is tight, and actively being monitored for adjustments. Death (falling off the bottom) is not simply "failure" - it is a mechanic to be used like any other, and the quicker you realize that, the less…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had a blast with this game so far. Really enjoyable game to play between friends with a great mix of "you're a jerk" comments, laughs, wow moments, and easy to learn mechanics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just got done playing this game with a friend online for several hours. It's late and we should go to bed, but we couldn't put the controllers down. The game is addicting and a ton of fun to play. We laughed with each other and had a great time. I highly recommend this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoying this arcade-style game. The different character abilities are really fun and add a lot of complexity to the game. Looking forward to joining a tournament soon!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ive played a lot of jumpala. From the early builds to the demos and finally release. I can say this game has a lot of replay value with a good amount of variety in the gameplay and playing style no 2 matches are going to be the same. Not to mention the secrets you can find. This game has a community that is very welcoming and encouraging making me very excited to see the future of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →38. Jumpala It bothers me that this indie game is largely unheard of. It's got great netcode, an original shared-board design, an interesting roster of characters that have radically different concepts without overwhelming the core conceit...go buy it: store.steampowered.com/app/1278190/...
unlabelledView post →Mechanically it's pretty interesting. Plays nice and smooth, everything seems to work fine (even if some of the character abilities can be incredibly frustrating to deal with at first) and it looks like it would be fun to play with friends. Without anyone to play with, though, I wasn't able to really jive with the game. I started it up, cleared all the tutorials, and then went to play some single-player action... and it was just a series of 1v1 games against each of the different characters,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty sweet game. Easy to learn but plenty of room for mastery. Can be really fun and competitive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mechanics of the game are simple enough that you can easily engage with it as a novice, but I can see how Jumpala's depth makes it an addictive and long lasting challenge. The variety of characters and special moves makes every match unique. The wager system is a particularly interesting feature, as it adds an element of luck that can upset even the most lopsided matches. I can easily imagine Jumpala becoming a widely played tournament game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a fun game!! It's amazing how this simple concept can make for such challenging & interesting gameplay. As someone who's never been known to be "good at video games," I can still put up a decent fight in this one (or at least am motivated to get better since it actually feels in reach)!!! I'm a fan!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if Jumpala is a platform fighter, or a fighting platformer...? It's billed as a puzzle game but what I know is that finding matches has been a challenge, so hmu if you want to throw down #versus_sky 🕹️👀

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow. Simple premise. Fantastic design. Fun for all involved! Whether you're just looking for a casual game to kick back and chill with friends, or seeking to 'jump' into the deep end with some heavy competition and strategy, this game has an incredible blend of dynamics to enable both! I started out just trying to understand the different characters and their abilities, and soon after realized the incredible depth of strategy that is brought forth by each unique character and stage match-up.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is put together so beautifully.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An extremely unique pvp game, there's truly nothing else out there like it. Easy to pick up and hella hard to master, from my initial time playing it, so it can be a party game or a tourney game depending on what you're looking for. Highly recommend everyone to try it out> Also has a great Discord community with tournaments every week!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jumpala is an unusual hybrid endless-jumper and 2D retro pixel platform brawler. Gameplay consists of jumping upwards endlessly across the available platforms and brawling the AI. You have to brawl the AI because while the game has a multiplayer feature, there are no players, for reasons we'll get into below. Every platform you jump on has a "score", and flips to your players colour. Thus, as you jump endlessly upwards and brawl, you also will try to flip as many platforms to your colour as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is solid gold! I'm not really good at fighting games, but this one makes me feel like I can do anything. There are tons of characters with their own unique powers, but it's so easy to learn how each one works. It's so nice to finally be able to beat my brother in a game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is a little pricey for what it is and the only way your going to get an online match is using the discord server, but the gameplay is pretty unique and the stage variation decent. On sale it is worth a buy. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jumpala is a compact but striking competitive platformer that distinguishes itself through a clever blend of territory control, fast movement, and character-driven abilities. Rather than relying on direct combat, the game builds its tension around capturing platforms as they rise and fall, creating a constant push-and-pull rhythm where every second matters. Each match begins with a tower of numbered platforms, and players race to jump across them, claiming each one for their color before the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks like a fun game until you play it. The main strategy is to puppy-guard the bottom row so that you can be sure to be the last player on a platform. This is problematic because: 1) very fast pace - you'll spend the entire round hammering away on the controller 2) you'll get bored by the lack of depth 3) the AI, even on easy, does not make many mistakes and is prone to near-perfect timing The characters are not balanced and some special powers are clearly overpowered. If they had spent…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the best party game in a decade and no one played it. it's also an incredible competitive game and still no one played it. what a crime.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't do anything online. Connection error. bwah bwah bwah
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jumpala is a PvP 2D platformer game where you play as one of seven characters each who contains a special ability to help you collect as many points as possible by jumping on platforms before your enemy does. Through combining strategy and skill as you verse AI or other online players. Graphics- Pixel like Soundtrack- Meh Audience- Kids or Teenagers Difficulty- Not too hard Story- Small story Game time- Ok length Price- Its too expensive for what it is 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a treat! Fast paced action with simple mechanics makes for a really pleasant and engaging experience!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Addictively fun competitive game that is very simple to learn, with enough characters and stages to keep you learning for a while!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy the mix of strategy and skill. Still learning but I really like Lola and her ability to mess with other players. This game has been a blast to pick up with friends!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really compelling arcade puzzle/fighter with very simple controls and interesting different characters. Each character is pretty easy to learn (just one special/ult) but has a lot of depth of play. If you dig unique competitive games that play well with friends, this game is awesome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like it, but the struggle with the frame rate makes it a hard pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is decently fun just fighting against the computer and the art in the game is really nice, however a lot of my enjoyment faded when I tried to 100% the game. The Computer on harder difficulties makes it near impossible to win unless you play perfectly the whole game, not to mention that some of the achievements are borderline impossible to get either do to the time sink needed to get them, or the fact the computer is too good and will prevent you from completing the challenges.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played for a bit and experienced all the characters and abilities, I tried the hard mode for a bit to see what the game is like when played computer-optimally. Turns out it kinda sucks and relies pretty heavily on quick math and luck, so I wouldn't really recommend it to a hardcore audience, and it's too complicated to make for a fun casual game, so I don't really know who this is for.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a nice arcade game of sorts but not much incentive to play solo pve. If you want a couch game or have 3 or more friends to play with online, go ahead.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game locally, but it's online population seems scarce, probably won't get matches without using Discord. Also, there's little single-player content to be found, and certain characters are overly annoying (the Doctor who manipulates time, in particular).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really great fun, surprisingly rich and interesting gameplay. Adapting to the different abilities also provides a nice extra layer of tactical flavour. A lot more enjoyable than I was expecting, even playing against CPU!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jump. Jump. Jump around.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →challenging party game. ai is very good. I cry
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a brilliantly designed game. Casual yet competitive, very easy to pick up, tutorials aren't a drag, and characters are all unique and powerful. AI isn't stupid so will put up a good fight - I'm just about good enough to beat easy bots now. Also comes with teams (think Smash's teams system) so you can buddy up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're playing vs hard CPU and get Lola, just quit. You'll spend more time respawning at that point
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yesterday we had a party at home, i bought several party games but finally we just stick to this. every character have unique ability and different strategy to win. a great 'easy to learn, difficult to master' competitive party game.
