positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can pet the dragons! If that isn't enough, Weaving Tides is a charming art game with wonderful characters and a surprisingly satisfying gimmick to its gameplay. The game will only last around 4-5 hours, but what's there is full of heart and comfort in its writing and story (oh, and a few other modes to be discovered). That said, the game stumbles a bit due to uneven combat, unfinished writing, and flatly mean level design towards the end, which may put off younger or less experienced…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this would be more puzzles and less frustration. Very little of the game actually warranted the weaving concept. Very janky controls, you're too slow and clunky to dodge enemies effectively. Its isometric and 3d, so objects will often block your view. Navigation is terrible. I never felt like i knew where i was going even though there's rarely more than 1-2 paths. You just can't see very much around you. "Boss fights" were a chore because you're slow and clunky, not because you're not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely delightful game. I've been playing the pre-launch version as a Kickstarter backer and have thoroughly enjoyed playing so far. I haven't encountered any bugs yet, just some frustration on my part while trying to figure things out but that's on me not the game. It just takes me some time to connect the dots sometimes. The game gives plenty of clues if you're paying attention and side quests are totally optional and often harder than the main quest but that just makes it more fun for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WT(ever-lovin')F! The graphics are pretty, the music is nice, but almost everything else is absolute poop! No maps or guides or waypoints to show where the heck you're supposed to go, and weird AF mechanism of 'weaving' that seems to sew where IT wants. I'm too baffled to continue with my ".4 hours" of play time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →'Weaving Tides' is a colourful puzzle adventure featuring ride-able carpet dragons; airborne creatures known as weavers that look like giant manta-rays with their long ribbon tails. You play as Tass, the last human, on a mission to find your parents. Your foster father is a blue dragon called Kilim, who accompanies you on your quest. During the game, you’ll travel through silken sands, spun forests and the moth kingdom, and meet two other ride-able dragons, both with unique abilities and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No. Weaving Tides is a vanilla, uninteresting game. It's a mechanic looking for fun. While the first level is interesting because you're still figuring out how the mechanics work and how much fun you can have with it (spoiler alert - not a lot), you quickly lose interest in the repetitive gameplay and boring lore that really never have time to develop and annoying/frustrating/obtuse puzzles. Whoever thought it would be "fun" to have a health meter bar and combat, clearly haven't played through…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was so fun to play pre-launch as a backer that I just had to buy it on steam! The game is an absolute joy to play: Every mechanic is well thought out and fun and I am constantly surprised by how the developers have utilised the simple idea of weaving to solve such diverse puzzles. The character dialogue is immersive and funny, I constantly found myself smiling at the character interactions. The ability to search for extra secrets in every level is always welcome and I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love this game, but I also hate it so much. The art, weaving mechanic, characters, exploration & collectibles - all exceptional. But the combat is way too hard for a seemingly cozy game like this. Especially the multi-stage, not-gonna-tell-you-the-rules boss fights. I image this is what Dark Souls feels like. Please, at least add a skip button for the bosses. I want to see this story through.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm assuming that based on achievements I'm around half way through the game and in general.... I'd recommend the game. I just got it tonight in a Fanatical bundle and instantly wanted it when I saw it because I love the style of the game and the unique looking gameplay. I'm a crafter and I love the very rare finds I can get in gaming where there is something with a crafty feel to it. Let's get the negatives out of the way first. ----I'm not a fan of the controls. The controls feel very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is extremely pretty. The soundtrack is very relaxing. The gameplay is actually very innovative and I don't think I have seen anything like it before. This is well worth your time if you are into puzzles and enchanting little aesthetic worlds. https://youtu.be/Dly9TXq64q4
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Satisfying gameplay, puzzles, & secrets. Beautiful, colourful, & magical design. Touching & cute story. Check out this masterpiece woven together by an awesome & caring studio.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game, the weaving mechanic feels so great! Especially when playing with a gamepad, the weaving gets really "flowy". I spent the first few minutes diving through the ground like a crazy dolphin on steroids. The puzzles are very engaging and I love that you can find secrets all over the world - if you look closely, you find lots of little visual hints where secrets could be. Its adorable artstyle, the great music and funny conversations are the cherry on the cake. I am…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far this game is exactly what the game tags describe: a relaxing puzzle platformer In a world where most "innovative" AAA titles do 95% the same as all the others, I can always appreciate a game trying something new. In the beginning the controls felt a little clumsy for me, but it simply needed some getting used to. After that it was all about figuring out the mechanics of a new game element here and there. All in all the puzzles I encountered so far were not that tough, most didn't take to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ultimately, this should be a Neutral review. I've been looking forward to the release of this quite a bit, partly because it's an Austrian studio making it - pretty much the only well known game from here is Ori and the Blind Forest. Sadly, unlike Ori, this game's graphics feel dated and the dialogue, such as it is, has very little charme to it. There also appears to be a weird lag in some places, even with a fairly high end PC. Now, maybe you don't care about that. Maybe you care about the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a lovely premise for a game to base all mechanics on weaving and crafting techniques. Repairing the world, "stitching" down enemies or floating woolly sheep and dashing through piles of cushions is just endlessly satisfying! The world and characters are so unique and charming and the art style is gorgeous.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great story, great graphics, great puzzles! and it even runs on my old macbook! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weaving Tides. Bought this for pretty dragons and a unique concept, and well I'm mostly done. There's some 100%ing to be done but I did beat the game and see the credits. This is a game with immense potential. Sadly, the biggest con of this game is how short it feels. The world is too enclosed and the game ends too quickly for it to be properly enjoyed. And there is stuff to enjoy! The artstyle is beautiful and the world itself is just so pretty to look at. The characters are interesting, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very chill experience so far, world has quite the welcoming and playful vibe to it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Normally I dont play this type of games, but this one is different! I really like the Vibe of the game. I love the music and its story telling. To train your brain there are also puzzles and fights. The characters, dragons and monsters are very nicely drawn in a uniqe represantation of a weaved world. Everything matches very very good and I like it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A dream comes true... which we owe to the developers of Weaving Tides! I backed the Kickstarter, already played the prologue and the beta demo for many hours, and with its final release I'm absolutely delighted! This game brings a completely new technique and approach to gameplay, that is absolutely fun, but often requires a change in thinking! Whether it's the style of defeating enemies, solving clever puzzles or discovering secrets or the very well thought out equipment - everything is just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its the first time playing this kind of game. At the beginning i had to get along with the game pad controls (i dont use it very often). But after a few flights with my dragon i got it! I have a lot of fun to explore the fantastic world, dash beasts, solve puzzles, stroke dragons :) - awesome
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the art style and some of the puzzles, though some of the puzzles and bosses are hard to understand and feel hard to beat. It's a very pretty game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I backed this game's kickstarter and I'm quite happy with it. Really chill game. I'd describe it as a exploration-puzzle game. Overall it's a fun, chill game with some tricky puzzles
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weaving Tides is cute and fun. It is something different in the gaming world. No matter what you play they are the same, shooter, RPG, hack'n'slash, ect. Weaving Tides is none of those games. It is very unique in its game play and story.

unlabelledView post →A short, adorable game about petting dragons, stitching the world together (with the dragons) to fix it and/or solve puzzles and/or defeat enemies, and overcoming obstacles along with your found family (the dragons, and also moths). Unusual but engaging game mechanics; puzzles that aren't ultimately difficult but aren't always intuitive (made more difficult by the fact that the game is obscure enough to make finding hints and/or walkthroughs a challenge); and a massive, massive Act 4…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is criminally underrated. The look of it is beautiful, and the mechanics are something legitimately new, rather than piecing things together from other games. I wholeheartedly suggest this to folks; it's a short but sweet experience, and we need to help encourage devs to do innovative things like this. This feels like the same kind of 'oh, this is *new*' thrill that I got from the first time I played Bastion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The team behind this game did an excellent job at world-building. The enemies, deities and regular inhabitants of this world make sense in light of the weaving theme and I am genuinely interested in the storyline. I've just finished the first boss. So far, about half the puzzles have been just hard enough that I've needed to try a few times before getting through and they've been increasing in difficulty as the game progresses. Nothing in the game has felt impossible but getting used to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've known this game since it was a tiny prototype at a German game event. It has grown into a truly beautiful and unique experience. Congrats to the devs :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game is a lot of fun. very good puzzles. artwork is glorious!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A gorgeous game with intricate and fun puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With more story and action than originally anticipated, Weaving Tides is a pleasant surprise with a lot to offer. Right out of the gates, the visuals are striking, with a tapestry inspired design with colors aplenty. The mechanic of weaving in and out of the floor takes some getting used to, for sure, but it makes for unique gameplay that sets it apart from the crowd. Puzzles are certainly challenging, but almost always rewarding. There are abilities to unlock and new areas to explore,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played the pre-launch version for about 3.5 hours and it's been fun. Lots of puzzles and you travel through a really beautiful world. If you like textiles, dragons, moths, and/or puzzles, you'll probably like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had the pleasure of playing the game before its release and backed the Kickstarter, so I have played it more than is shown in my Steam Time table. Weaving Tides is a fun game, which is the end result of a four year old journey from a bunch of young, up-and-coming developers. They have carefully crafted a fascinating experience in a unique and unexpected world. The art style is adorable and really immerses you in the game and its characters. For the price of 20 Euro you get a fun and lasting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3.8/10 was really looking forward to this game + art style + cool one of a kind game play + puzzles - hardly any sewing the ground back together - god awful combat the amount of times im trying to defeat one tiny guy that just wont die.... - god awful boss fights i move at the speed of pudding well the boss plows me down full speed every time. i know where i need to be to trigger the damage phase but most of the time i have no way to reach it in time before the boss runs off. only took me 2…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique puzzle game with pleasing visual style. I beat the first level (and boss fight!) after an hour and found myself genuinely having fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An adventure game with unique graphics. The weaving mechanism works and looks fantastic! With the exception of the last section, where I had to force my way past the numerous environmental dangers, this is a fairly simple game. I had the same badges equipped from beginning to end, so the badges system isn't that fascinating or useful. Once the game is completed, choosing a chapter from the main menu allows you to look for collectibles you missed during the initial adventure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very interesting world building. Well executed, cute, child friendly game. They knew what they wanted to do and did it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can pet the dragons. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been following this game for quite awhile and wasn't disappointed. The graphics, the music, and the story thus far are all amazing. I love the depth they put into the world and the puzzles, while sometimes challenging to my neurodivergent mind, are a lot of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very awesome. Beautiful and very chill to play. The puzzles are not too easy and not too hard! I'm excited about getting to know the whole story. Would like to have Tass as a plush toy <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a crafty nerd who spends most of their time either work or making stuff, this is a great game to pick up and put down at need. the saving system is so smoothly automated you don't have to worry about it. So far there is not grinding needed, just you can if you want if your one of the players who has to collect everything in the game. the story is engaging. it is definitely not a demanding game, just highly entertaining. cute, best played on a controller tho, the keyboard controls seemed hard…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a world full of magic and dragons. A world in which you spin your own destiny. no, for real, it is a lovely game with beautiful textures and an immersive story. you really feel the passion and love the team put into the game to make is as beautiful as it is. even through it looks pretty simple, its gameplay can still sometimes be challenging. i usually don't play such games and also dont write reviews after such a short timeframe, but this one won me. i can really recommend it to everyone with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has a lot of charm and a clever game mechanic, I quite enjoyed it! Unfortunately, it does feels a little rough around the edges sometimes. The landscapes don't always communicate whether you can or cannot dive under certain obstacles, the music is a little repetitive and the writing feels clunky at times. But considering this is only a 4 person dev team, I do believe they did a great job overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unique game. Love the mechanics and gameplay. Also the artstyle is really gorgeous.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It starts out fun, fresh, and easy. the difficulty ramps up after the first level or so to the point its more daunting and figuring out the puzzles is more of a hassle than something rewarding. I would occasionally navigate into an area that I presume had a puzzle but I couldn't figure it out and most of the ones that didn't prevent my progress into the core story were left untouched as there are no hints in this game. thankfully you can go back to 'solve' these later. I like the characters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cute. no hook. not for me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and under-appreciated. Gorgeous art and lovely, imaginative character designs. Some puzzles are finicky and combat is imprecise, but overall Weaving Tides is a beautiful game worth playing if you're willing to be patient at times. Also Twill is so darn lovable!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good, chill and visually beautiful game with unique gameplay 👍
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mostly a easy platformer, that gets very challening at the end. The story is childfriendly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable chilled out game. The game mechanics are unique and pretty cool gameplay is fun and pretty easy the art style and graphics are also pretty good. Recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not *the best* game, it definitely has some flaws, but it is *an original* game, and for that it's a solid recommend. The puzzles aren't particularly puzzling, the boss fights aren't particularly inspiring, and it's not very long, so I wouldn't recommend it at its full price. But it is the right length, so you're not sick of it by the end, there's no grinding, so you're not sick of it right away, and it's not just another metroidvania or first person shooter or whatever the flavor of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a game I had found through the Steam Next Fest a couple years ago and had loved so much that I'd backed the Kickstarter. Unfortunately, due to some time constraints (and my object permanence) I hadn't gotten a chance to play the game until recently, and I loved every moment of the game. The game itself has a very interesting mechanic where you weave through fabric holes to create designs, bind down enemies to defeat them and explore through a map either above or below the fabric!…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game, even if some of puzzles towards the end can get a bit frustrating.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weaving Tides has more than lived up to my expectations from it's crowdfunding campaign... The combat style is super fun and appeals to the fiber artist in me, while the story is interesting and uniquely told. I have enjoyed all of the different characters and creatures throughout the game and, I swear, I could sit and listen to the soundtrack for hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful art style and interesting puzzles; just an overall pleasant experience that I definitely recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review by LadiesGamers.com follow our curator page for full reivew. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/40546244/ Developers Follow the Feathers launched a Kickstarter campaign last year for Weaving Tides which was successfully funded shortly after. Inspired by the likes of Zelda and Bastion the game has now been released on Steam and Nintendo Switch. I got to try out the Steam version of the game for this review, lets have a look at it.
