60 of 184 · most liked firstIt's decent and has a lot of the core mechanics I was looking for, but overall it suffers from being too repetitive, grindy and not particularly really good at any particular thing. The game has a solid foundation, but could use a lot of additional content to make it more interesting. Trade is meant to be quite a big thing and it's quite alright in the beginning, but eventually gets boring. You travel the region in a circle, buy the same stuff, sell the same stuff and bring materials to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dust to the End is a squad-based, turn-based combat, semi-openworld trading game in a post-apocalyptic setting. -manage up to 9 units and vehicles(with upkeep) -multiple maps(or zones) unlocked by story progression(fixed main story) -real-time travel movement on a free-roaming map, enemies are visible and can be avoided if you're fast -turn-based combat, some random encounters -factions, town relations -autosaves, multiple manual save slots -sandworms, but no spice items. Finally I played a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Grind to the End A post-apocalyptic caravan simulator with base building and vehicles. Sounds too good to be true? Well, that's because it is. At the beginning, "Dust" kind of sucks you in with nice 2d art and the alluring idea of exploring a harsh world filled with mutants, towns to trade in/with and an assortment of gear to collect, craft and upgrade. However, very quickly the grindy nature of the game manifests itself. The basic method of getting funds is to trade: you purchase goods in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rarely give thumbs down to a game that I've played for 50+ hours but this one seemed to have a lot of potential. Battles. I've seen a lot of games with similar turn-based system and this is officially the worst and most boring of them, there're only 3 types of enemies. Thankfully you can auto play non-quest battles. Trade is not dynamic, basically you can travel btw two towns and grind for profit. There's no comprehensive table of ask/demand, also ask/demand is not that important, higher…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →xero's review says almost everything I want to say about this game, so here's a cross-reference https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198309680371/recommended/1074070/ The main difference is I played it for 42 hours, not 50+. Other than that, I would say I'm glad there were some "bad" endings because I was reasonably satisfied with the second bad ending, and certainly didn't want to grind the 5x as much money as I had ever had in the game to get enough carrying capacity to satisfy the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first thing that stands out of this game is how much it reminded me of the caravanner flash games, and it does play alot like them. you wander around just selling stuff, most of the suggested trade routes the game offers you are, naturally really stupid and far longer then you need to go to sell stuff for actual profits though the combat is really awful. i go out of my way to try to avoid it as much as possible, and i dont mean like "oh this is hard" i mean oh i really hate this boring,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dust to the End has nice hand-drawn graphics in a post-apocalyptic setting which is what drew me to the game. It's just too slooow and boooring for me. I really wanted to like it. I even tried it again, but it's a dud. Not recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quickly obvious that it's going to be an uninspired, repetitive slog through a crowded desert. Further marred by a severe lack of quality of life features (information, options, actions in the correct screens...) With an asinine typewriter effect on top, as if English was written in ideograms. So, with a character sheet being all about combat, I expected the latter to be the recipient of all design efforts. Nope. Rubbish as well. All RNG, zero tactical depth, no oomph, no more stimulation than…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dust To The End is best described as a mixture of Darkest Dungeon, Eurotruck Simulator and a bit of Railway Empire. Combat, party & inventory management as well as graphics and skills - all remind of darkest dungeon. Overworld transmission & “trading” kinda reminds of railway empire. The “grind” & vehicle upgradability reminds a bit of Eurotruck sim. Initially, before finishing the game, I would have given it a “recommended” rating. But now, after finishing it, I'm only left with one though:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10. Excessively grindy, with gameplay that came out 20 years too late. This game would have done well in a previous era, when your parents only bought you a few games a year if any, and the games had to last. That was also a time when simply being able to play as a character was enough to immerse you. But this is the internet era. Simply playing as a post-apocalypse merchant doesn't mean much if the gameplay itself is dull. Let's start with the combat. It's standard turn-based,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm alright with grind, but this is the worst kind of grind: Linear grind. You grind in one area for hours, then move to the next area and do the same... Rinse and repeat. Combine that with the poor writing and there's just not much compelling here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Score: 3/5 Almost recommendable. Good concepts, lackluster execution, especially choosing a trial-and-error model that has not been widely praised in the past as seen in games like the original System Shock or Underrail or a multitude of only-one-right solution puzzle games. The Bad 1. Repetition/Grinding. 2. Combat. Visually, it looks good and is fairly thematic. Mechanically, it's standard turn-based fare, but is unnecessarily slow and needs some polish. Thankfully, many battle can be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the concept, but unfortunately the execution has some serious flaws. Ultimately, the gameplay is far too repetitive and limited - for the most part just going round in circles, buying and selling the same things, fighting the same few mobs, over and over again. There's very limited strategy or meaningful freedom to be found, and really no interesting decisions whatsoever. Compounding the frustration is the extremely poor UX design - everything is more convoluted and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trading is not dynamic, prices always stay the same. Spontaneous exploring (even a few steps) is only possible if you always bring a ton of extra food an water, which costs you a lot of revenue. Combat is slow and not very interesting. Story and the world it plays in is not very good presented and subpar. UI navigation is tedious, for example: Main administrative work is done via some tabs on the lower screen (Inventory, Caravan, etc.). You click to one tab, but to switch to another you need to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honnestly, this game problem is that it's too tame. The combat is more sluggish than anything, it's not as punishing as it's pretending to be. The story is barebones and lacks something personnal to tell, it's effectively just a pretext for linear progress. And the trading is just fonctionnal. It's simple and once you figure out where you can sell what, it's an easy, slow and repetitive grind. There is no risk taking and litlle strategising. And the various areas are just a slight increase in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While initially motivating the game devolves into mindless grind by the midgame. You do the same things over and over again with slightly higher numbers. This wouldnt be so bad if the world was interesting, which it isnt, it is devoid of almost any interesting feature. Enemies just pop out of nowhere and roam around, mind you the same 4 basic enemy types. There are no lairs, nothing interesting to discover. The settlements are equally as bland. Its just a different color lipstick on the pig.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a weird game. I wasn't sure what to make of it from the screenshots, but I decided to take a risk on it... and it paid off. Loved it. Highly recommended. My only complaints are that I wish there was a better way to keep track of buy/sell prices in game - I ended up using a spreadsheet like a nerd. But, hey. Still fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been abandoned and is not being maintained by the devs...it is very rough and unpolished, and it will never get any better. It seems like they were more interested in screwing the players rather that making a fun/interesting game. Do not buy this thing at full price; wait 'til it's on sale for 80-90% off.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a very mixed feeling about this game. From the first moment it sends strong Caravaneer 2 vibes, just in a better, more polished coat. Almost all of the 7 hours I played were a blast, discovering all the features, getting rich and assembling my crew. Mostly doing a lot of caravaneering and here and there a side or main quest. It was after the big story milestone, getting into the second area - I stocked up on all the resources required for the very long trip and after a several in-game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphics are ok for being modeled pretty old school (re: slightly better Fallout 2). I know this is a trading game but it's very, very boring and I was hoping for more story than it has, which is almost nonexistent. The travel pace is super slow, which items to buy is a shot in the dark, and making profits is also incredibly slow. Combat is rough as I miss A LOT, and running never seems to work. Having to constantly monitor food/water is tedious and sucks any fun out of the game.

Dust to the End ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dust to the End is a brand new Turn-based combat, RPG. Set in a distant post-apocalyptic wasteland, you get to choose your journeys, companions, and most importantly your enemies. You basically get to play as a Caravan trying to make a living in these post-apocalyptic wastelands. It’s not only about the survival of the fittest,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, nothing makes me hate a game more than, winning a fight only for the game to go "oh no there`s to many enemies you cant win". It makes the whole game just not worth playing. Other than that the game is fine, its just no point in having a role playing story game where the story doesn't care about the choices you make.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dust to the End is a rough but interesting post-apocalyptic strategy RPG with a lot of freedom. You’re basically managing a caravan, making tough choices, trading, fighting, and trying to survive in a brutal wasteland. It’s a bit janky at times, but the world and decision-making keep it engaging. If you like sandbox survival games with strategy elements, it’s definitely worth a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, writing is atrocious and everyone it feels like an AI wrote it. There is no personality or interaction, quests and NPCs lead to nowhere, and it's a pure linear grind. Trading is not intuitive in that it's just buy A go to B and then C. It's clearly a developers first game but it has many rough edges that are fundamental to it that can't be fixed. I can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely one of the most boring, bug-riddled games I've played. I like the concept but the execution is poor. ALL You do in this game is go from one city to the next on a map trading goods and occasionally doing a strange mission. 2/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fairly decent, there are many things that can be improved, for base mode it would be better if it was made like a fallout shelter online. Water is quite difficult at first because it easily runs out so it requires so many water bottles and a large capacity. Too few jobs, maybe it would be more fun if you were given lots of options for the type of job's from the start. Conclusion, It's decent and has a lot of the core mechanics I was looking for, but overall it suffers from…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 trying to keep everybody fed, healed, and hydrated just drags the game on and on...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, I can't recommend Dust to the End. It has a cool premise, but the execution is just... mediocre. Combat is completely monotonous and uninteresting. There aren't really any tactics or strategy needed. Just do basic attacks and every once in a while do an attack that uses points. This is really inexcusable since there are so many other games out there with this style of combat (Bard's Tale 4 and Darkest Dungeon are shining examples) where abilities and synergy are exciting and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing this game since back in Early Access and I have to say it's come a long way from where it started out. At first it was just a barren map where you could easily go "point A" to "point B" with a storyline that was alright but with a shoddy translation that would break immersion. Certain aspects for reputation didn't have any point other than to just "be there" and weapons weren't very different from another. Base Building and Raiding was just "push through and win" while trying…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I figured it was a Chinese dev when I saw male workers outnumbered female, but what really surprised me was getting a 5% work efficiency bonus for having more males than females in a colony (although this might be a UI updating bug?). Slap that on top of the objectively better starting companion being described as a beautiful loli and you get the most cringe I've felt since Perfect World. It's also a visually repetitive mess with lots of stock sound effects, an awkward English translation,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good The class system is very approachable. Each class has a small collection of skills that you can better shape your team's combat/survival needs. Trading is simple. Don't expect a grand, living economy. You buy low, sell high, and hope your travel supplies don't eat into your profits. The Bad Everything from The Good section can also be seen as a negative. The simplicity may get dull quickly. The GRIND is real. Does Asian game development have a reputation for grind gameplay?…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that is instantly recognisable as having been made by the Chinese. The game system is good, where the national ideology of the creator is irrelevant. But I still get bored after 10 hours. You should buy it on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would give this a neutral review if i could. The game has good parts which are fun but it also has so many bad parts, most of which just feel extremely under-designed and under-thought. For example the combat is really uninspiring and straight-forward, so i started auto-resolving it, since my tactical input seems minimal anyway. But that naturally takes away a lot from the game. Now what is left is that you mostly roam the desert to buy and sell goods. Once you follow the simple steps of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just reached the end (s). Really nice game, story involving, interesting game play, innovative improvement mechanim (for me at least). Several very good hours for a little price :-) Give it a try ! (Note that english is not difficult, it's easy to understand)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts off grindy and boring. 20 hours later its still grindy and boring. Wants to be Kenshi so bad but it just isn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in my day, I used to play post-apocalyptic trading games like this on Kongregate. This is like those games, except it is very well done and has lots of depth, expansion, and build options. It is also very repetitive, but that is ok for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a massive fan of the carvaneer series and easily a few hundred hours in the 2nd one alone i might be a bit biased in loving this which has clearly taken inspiration from it. I will say for super old folk like me who have played caravaneer 2 this one differs in that it is a simplified version, while you still have industries you can invest into and build up to setup trade routes in the economy, the combat is a lot more basic and essentially risk free, there is not yet any sort of livestock…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Caravan sim, I completed main story in 20 hours, Its very repetitive game, i found oil from North west to be easy trade able goods to double your money in border town, but its a constant grind. The game pretty much goes like this: >Start off with 2 char's >Explore trade routes >Trade goods for profit whilst managing food, water, ammo and health. >Get rich buy other chars/mercs >Repeat trade route of Selling oil then buying provisions for the journey >Get rich >Grow your caravan company >Buy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good trading & fighting game. Graphics are a bit poor and tight, but enought to see the crude things that must to be shown in an apocalyptic world, and run without bugs. Mechanics is relatively basic: player controls a caravan members and his vehicles, and go from town to town for trading, meanwhile he can explore at will, fighting his enemies and loot them. Player can hire until 8 members, each with a dozen stats upgradables to 10 level by combat experience, and can to equip them buying in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is this is the best game I've ever played? No. Is it the best $12 I've ever spent on a game? Definitely. 2 hours after I was supposed to have quit, I just want to do one more trade....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better buy Caravaneer 2. Same game concept but with more love into it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is just too unpolished to be recommended. It has such a good concept, some decent art, but that is where it ends. The interface has flaws throughout, and so much of what you do is micromanaging water and food between sites, and the lack of water is absolutely punishing. Combat is extremely basic and lacks depth with lackluster flash style animations. I don't even normally take the time to write reviews, but I'm hoping to save some folks the trouble. Just pass on this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the concept of this game. However, the base building system is pointless once you move to a new region. There simply is no reason to go back when it is more profitable (with much better XP) to stay in your current region or move to the next more challenging region. This game had so much potential but it feels scatter brained and needlessly "busy" in the base building, crafting, upgrading, etc. I do enjoy upgrading my weapons, armor and vehicles to carry more and move faster.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really boring. Nothing else to say
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool simple turn based RPG with a good story and world. Worth your time and money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very bland and boring, character development is simple and uninspiring, combat is unchallenging and you will want to skip it(At least there are auto-resolve sometimes available), survival and trade which should be the core - oversimplified and again boring. All story and dialogs could fit in like a single page, literaly. I've tried to play for 31hrs and get well past midgame wanting to find the justification for such high reviews and something to hook me but never found any of it.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really good post-apocalyptic trading game with some fun combat and base-management systems. If you enjoy games where your primary source of income (and, usually, purpose) is figuring out the best trading routes in a hostile and dangerous environment, this is a good one for you. Despite the low price this game has a lot of features and I certainly spent more time playing it than I did with most other games that I bought recently. So I can really recommend this title.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Appearances CAN be deceiving. Underneath the low quality graphics lies a decent post apocalyptic RPG with a resource management game that might turn off the uninitiated. You want a MAD MAX style game? Well, it depends on if you don't like managing resources but otherwise, this is the game for you. If you don't mind the simplistic style of aesthetics (that I personally like) I highly recommend this game. An 8 out 10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a pretty good game but it's also very grindy. IF you can get past that, you should give it a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an okay game. I'll give it a thumbs up, but it's not a strong one. If you want to try something VERY similar maybe try VAGRUS. (It's a test/reading-based RPG. It has graphics but a lot of reading.) If you want something kind of similar but quite different, try SANDS OF SALZAAR. I find it a lot more rewarding because it has a lot of build options, both for you, your companions, and your army. Use mods for Salzaar! But it's not a survival sim. I got bored because character development is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From the presentation, I expected something else. What I got was a basicly grindy trading simulator with vaults and exploration. 5/10 looks like mobile game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i wanted to like this but it's too repetitive. the biggest negative is that the Developers didn't even bother using the correct context and pronouns for female players or those choosing to start as the female main character. but i would not say it's a bad game, just not for me i guess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4 / 10 - good idea & core concept but the execution leaves much, very much to be desired.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this might be a good game but I gave up fighting with the interface.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Copy pasted template. The game's alright, it just loses interest after like... the third town you get to. There's really little to do and the mechanic for booting the other AI controlled factions away are just boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the concept but it gets repetitive really fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dust to the End is a post-apocalyptic strategy RPG developed by Haojoy Game and Zjoy Game and published by 2P Games. Released on Steam in 2021, the game combines several gameplay systems—trading simulation, turn-based combat, caravan management, and open-world exploration—into a single survival-focused experience set in a devastated wasteland. Rather than following the structure of a typical role-playing game that emphasizes combat and character progression, the title centers heavily on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mildly recommended. I'm usually a sucker for everything post-apocalyptic and this was going great for a few hours. The art style is gritty with lots of charm. The world has it's own twists and the trading concepts seem like they open up some options to earn. I liked how some towns had unique interactions too, kept it fresh. The biggest drawback for me was the slow progress, lackluster combat, and when I unlocked the bunker, it felt like the implementation needed a lot more work. It's hard to…
