Healer's Quest is a fun multi-tasking game where you assume the role of an RPG healer. It is your job to keep your allies healed and buffed while they dish out damage to your enemies. Although the basic premise is simple it conceals a very detailed and customizable combat system. You design the look of your character, select from dozens of spells (heals, buffs, or mana recovery), equip different bracelets for your healer and weapons/rings for your allies. Each of your numerous spells has its…

The writing is absolutly funny. The humour starts already in the beginning when you are creating your character. You are the healer in a party. The other party members are the fighters (knight, barbarian, archer and mage) You only control the healer in the fights. Your job is to click on all the characters to keep healing them until the fight is won. You have limited amount of mana, sometimes you have to wait until you can cast spells again. All battles are played out in realtime. Most battles…

The game is easy to play - a nice casual gaming experience. Spell skill tree is nice. However the game is extremely linear, and you progress through one monster encounter with amusing plot text to the next. When you reach a monster you can't beat your only real choice is to walk back and forth between previous monster trigger areas, fighting an identical 2 sets of monsters again and again until your party has levelled up enough to be able to take the next set of monsters. Only you levelling…

This is a fun Little Game every MMORPG-Healer will enjoy. You are the Healer and go on an adventure with your group of bad players. They only care about damage, they have no focus and they blame you for everything. Typical Mmorpg feeling for every Gamer that ever played a Healer in a game. Pros: + Lots of Spells that encourage different playstyles + every spell has a solid skill tree + if you fail a boss fight you can adjust your spells to go for a different approach + experimenting with…

Ugh. No. Just no. The game tries to be funny, but only manages to peak at the kind of jokes that you would hear from kindergarten children making fun of one another. The mechanics are interesting for a while, but get boring and repetitive after about an hour. If you want to finish the game, do yourself a favor and turn on the accessibly options of resetting skills anywhere for free (still awards achievements), or you will hate your life with the levels of grinding required to switch between…

Informational review, because nothing in the description or screenshots hinted at this, and I wish I'd known it before buying: The central combat mechanic is "balancing various meters, in real time, by choosing when and where to hold down the mouse button and when not to hold it down". It's supported by some mechanics that are kind of RPG-ish (choose which of 4 spells to cast) and some that feel more like a clicker game ("click at the precise moment a certain randomly appearing star…

At the time of writing this, I have about 3hrs in the game. Healer's Quest is an RPG in which you play a healer in a group with four other team mates, and your sole duty is healing; you don't engage in combat with the enemies. - There's a character creator which is really cool. Nice humour in the boob slider for the female character. There's "karma" as well, meaning you can be a good healer, evil healer, or victim healer. I'm not sure what effect this has but I'm quite sure it effects the…

A special, never yet seen before idea for a game. Frequent healer players will definitely have a fun time reading the in-game dialogues. Sadly, the game is just WAY too grindy. Grinding shouldn't be the focus of a humorous, laid-back indie game. At all.

The concept of the game is to play as the healer, an underappreciated role in a party. However, the game comes off as not very fun. They missed the fun points of being a healer. Your party members are all unlovable jerks except for possibly Tanky. Due to RNG, a party member can be one shot. As the healer, that's extremely frustrating when the only way to bring them back to life is to use up an extremely important spell slot. Since you only get 4 spell slots, it's extremely important to…

As a person who enjoys playing Healer/Medic in videogames, this is very much a letdown. The real time battle system doesn't work very well with this kind of game, with 4 healing targets and many enemies attacking at the same time it can be difficult to predict what kind of spells you need to use on the fly when you need to be focusing on healing your team. It just would have been so much better as a turn-based affair, the battle system is difficult and twichy and not very fun at all. The…

Crashed on character creation, then remained open for 5 hours after it crashed as a file named something along the lines of 'njws' that used barely any memory or disk, but still racked up the hours. So yeah, crashing on the first part of the game a minute into launching it, then staying open as I head to a family gathering, thus racking up too many hours to refund. Not a fan.

This is an entertaining little game about playing the unthankful job of a healer for a party of adventurers. Dialogues are full of humour, and most of the time it is spot on! https://youtu.be/3pSwcGUMbHI Gameplay itself is similar to what you actually do as a healer in an 5-man-MMORPG party. You can have 4 active spells, which you can upgrade about a dozen times each, in various ways. There's normal healing, regeneration, shield spells, buffs, resurrection, you name it. It's exactly as it appears, but it's not really fun. The pitch for this game is a kind of jokey rpg mocking some alleged trope of a healer always being the most hated party member that receives the brunt of the blame when stuff goes wrong. That element is in the writing, but between that and all the other jokes it still seems pretty dry. Beyond that, the gameplay isn't great either. You mouse click over allies to heal or buff them, and quickly switch between various spells to mitigate damage…

This game is much better than it looks at first glance. The entertainment of this MMORPG parody in which a healer takes the central role (in the background) is top notch. The dialogue provides more amusement than various AAA titles. At the same time the gameplay is also challenging enough at the higher difficulty levels. It might only make sense for those who played an MMORPG at some point, but for that audience this could very well be the game you wanted to play without knowing it.

I wasn't sure how I was going to rate this game. I loved, then it frustrated me, but in the end I enjoyed the experience. I realized the frustration was me trying to force this game into how I wanted it to play. Let me explain. It's a very simple game, and that makes it fun at first. But then the enemies get tougher, but you don't progress like most rpgs, there is no upgrading weapons and armor and grinding to stay ahead of the difficulty curve, it's just you healing. Meter Maid Do you like playing as a healer? Do you like RPGs? Do you like witty humor? Well, this has none of those. It may be called Healer's Quest but you actually play as the Engineer. How so? By monitoring gauges of course. You monitor the health gauges of your "team" and click on one when it gets low. You monitor your magic gauge and click on it when it gets low. You don't actually do any healing. If the background, basically all of the battle scenes, didn't exist, it'd still be the…

Type: A healing management game with RPG elements. Pros: Excellent writing, very funny and it really helps you hate your party of jerks. Neutrals: Music is eh, nothing really to marvel or hate. Art is pretty much what's in the screen caps. Hand drawn storybook style. Cons: The game play is sooo boring and repetitive. It could practically be an idle clicker game. The lack of enjoyable game play is why I stopped playing.

So far (only 3 hours played so far) I've really enjoyed the humor. Despite a clear lack of voice acting, it is nice to actually see some humorous writing and clever characters. From the character selection screen to the twist of the first "real" boss fight, the game is self-aware, has many running gags, and shows to the masses the wit that characters should have in an RPG. So that alone warrants a recommendation. I doubt you'd really want to visit it again after you're done, as the playthrough on normal difficulty is challenging enough as it is. You can find bracelets, rings, weapons and upgrade spells along the way to make your life a little... easier. Maybe. The story is thin, but enjoyable. As a hardcore player of FFXIV Online, I found this game's humor hilarious, because it has a good grasp of what being a healer with a crappy team really is like. I finished the game in Normal difficulty, and it was a little hard, I died something like 30-40 times during the game. I think if you don't have the knowledge of being a healer in an MMORPG, this game can be very hard as it supposes you know how to manage Cooldowns, if you don't, it will probably be harder for you. I think it's a bit too grindy as far as xp is concerned, and that getting around takes too long. I also think it should be easier to respec your abilities. Healer's Quest is a unique real-time RPG where you "lead" the typical five-man party (tank, barbarian, archer, mage) as the titular healer. In truth, you have very little control over the other four members of the squad, whereas you have complete control (skill choices at level-up, in battle actions) over the healer. Pros: The scripted encounters in the game are genuinely funny (most of the time). This is particularly the case when the game pokes fun at RPGs and MOBAs, either by citing…

Healer's Quest was a fun short game. I was at 99% completion when I beat it 11 hours in. Funny, good gameplay, and customization options. Battles were fast paced and sometimes deadly. Since there are no real consequences to dying, it made it easy to experiment and try again. The random battles felt like they dragged on near the end, but it wasn't much of an issue given the game length. Saw the game at GamesCon, loved the idea, and I love the game. My only complain is that 4 spell slots are a bit too limiting, considering that you need at least 1 healing spell and 1 mana regeneration spell it leaves only 2 slots to play around, so I almost never use interesting, niche spells. I get that I'm supposed to adjust my spell selection to certain enemies, but unrefundable spell upgrades dissuades this strategy in favor of sticking to 4 favorites.

Some of the translation is a bit wonky and the grammar is sometimes off (creator is French.) The achievements require a ton of pointlessly grinding for gold, which I personally find irritating. This game is awesome. Loved every bit of it.... I found it relateable as I often play healers when playing with other people. The disrespect is real.... This game has a good story, had me laughing, had me going to the other end of the house to tell my husband whats happening in this game he knows nothing about.. This is deff a little hidden gem in my opinion. Can feel a little grindy at times, but don't let that stop you from playing, I like the banter, I like the story. This is one I will…

Overall I had fun with the game, but I do wish there was a more neutral rating to give this. I like the art style and the music is fine. You get a lot of customization options (skill trees & different abilities) to choose to customize how you want your healer to function. I like that there's a way to quickly get out of a dungeon after you beat the boss of it. I also like that there is the option to redo your skill trees if desired. The premise is original, the artstyle is charming, but no mechanics are revolutionary, and the whole affair is quite drawn-out, to the point that even the occasional splash of wit does little to ease the monotony. A hard 3/5, scratches the RPG itch but took me a while to finish as you will get bored quickly. Possibly the point? Trying to do justice to…

Ugh. Uuuuuuuuuugh. I hated the crap. Hold down the mouse button on the UI element. Then move your mouse to another UI element and hold down the mouse button. It's a spinning plates deal, but without enough stuff to do. The story is the typical modern self-aware poking fun at cliches without bothering to actually write punchlines. It's just a stream of abuse. Haha, healers are doormats. Haha, they were rude to the healer again.
