What people are saying
A mixed early-access dungeon crawler with fun co-op but repetitive enemies.
Some players enjoy the game's loot and skill system, calling it a fun co-op experience with good gameplay. One player noted, "Gameplay is great. Love the abilities based on weapon, the run and shoot controls, and the skill based combat." Others appreciate the developer's responsiveness and the game's potential. [3][5][11]
However, many criticize the lack of enemy variety, poor balance, and feeling of emptiness. One player stated, Enemies all feel the same, the loot is uninteresting, the classes are irrelevant, the maps feel empty. Others mention game-breaking bugs and a high price for the content offered. 50 of 50 · most liked firstTLDR: This is combat prototype being sold as a full game "Warman is a pure hack-and-slash game, focusing not on lore and stories, but what action-adventure RPGs do best: Combat, stats, and loot... Instead, there's plenty of action, endless possibilities of developing your character through a freeform class system and random item generation, and, of course, monsters to explore and dungeons to defeat!" The idea, as presented, is that Warman is a simplified version of more complex games,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The positive reviews for this beggar belief. This is extremely bare-bones, ugly, unbalanced, dull, unresponsive, glitchy, repetitive, and boring as all get-out. Also the retail price is $20, which is completely ridiculous considering you could get real actual games for that amount of money. There is no way people paid twenty bucks for this, played it, and reviewed it positively without some kind of shenanigans going on. Paid accounts? Bots? I don't know for sure, but it definitively reeks.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was excited for a silly little game, skills were looking basic but interesting enough, equipment had that "just strong enough to make you feel powerful" vibe, was really getting into it. Went back to town, saw there was no easy portal back, so walked out front gate and figured since I'd gained so many levels it'd be a cakewalk and I could rush back to where I was. Then I died in 2 hits while not paying close attention and saw that the game force-leveled the enemies to stronger than I was, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good little dungeon crawl. Its like a stew of Heroes of hammerwatch (controls, random layout) Diablo (random loot) and Victor vran (special attacks by weapon) The only thing I might add is controller support, but it's good with KB & Mouse. I can't wait to see how things turn out after early access
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I purchased Warman since its EA time, back then it goes floor by floor, you jump into dungeon, get loots, push limit a bit by bit, then carry junks back to town. But in this full release edition, everything changed, I am stupefied. - Now the game wants to be like Diablo, you start in town, walk out to fields, beat enemies, teleport back to town anytime. Sounds like ordinary Diablo experience right? No, the weirdness starts from here. - The choice of choosing wasp as starting enemy in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played through all available content with the caveat of not spending too much time in the endless dungeons and I don't feel like it was worth my time. Pros: - Mastery system is decent for allowing some customization of your character. - Being able to upgrade items and swap out a single attribute to the one you want (random but you can replace it indefinitely) is an appreciated feature. Cons: - Some features in the mastery system do not make sense. One skill under archer gives a stacking…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a fan of dungeon crawling loot-based games, I found Warman very disappointing. The lack of a story is fine, but the gameplay is dull. Enemies all feel the same, the loot is uninteresting, the classes are irrelevant, the maps feel empty, the bosses are uninspired, and there are no achievements. It's okay for a couple of hours before it dawns on you that this is pretty much the entire game. There's no sense of reward for doing anything. More than anything it feels incomplete and unpolished,…

unlabelledView post →This game has some interesting ideas, but the enemy level scaling and the poorly designed randomization really kill the experience. Having 3 enemy spawners spawn next to each other (this happened A LOT) was hellish. Because the enemies scaled so quickly (and every area had the same enemy levels?) leveling up felt more like a punishment than a reward. I think the foundation of a good/interesting game is here, but it just needed a bit more work/polish to allow it to reach its full potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad at all. Leveling and gear make this more fun for me than the typical rogue-lite genre. You do lose some experience when you die, but keep your gear. I like the blacksmith for changing a stat and improving gear. Helps a lot. Gameplay is great. Love the abilities based on weapon, the run and shoot controls, and the skill based combat. I wish there were boss fights and a tad more variety. The twin stick RPG (as I'm gonna call it) is getting closer to perfection. What would be great is to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →man lets me out of cell. gives me wand. from that point on i became a god. every other weapon i tried was useless compared to the wand. thousands of little bone men died before me. any fool who tries any other weapon type is doomed. this game is pretty fun. the general fun and appeal is there. unlike other dungeon crawlers you don't loose your stuff when you die. there are some minor bugs but nothing to crazy nothing that is game breaking. the game can feel a bit clunky at the start but 10…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warman is a... really hard to describe apart from my favourite go-to.. "Garbage". This is a really badly made 3D rendered 2D top down/ISO brawler with lightweight RPG elements and some inventory management. This is so bad I had to spend a little extra time trying to find out if this was an Android game or made for iPhones instead, but it turns out the quality was too low for it to be accepted on those platforms. It's clunky, it's got bad graphics, the gameplay is nonsensical, it's bug…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →20€ for this? Hell no. This feels like an Early Access game that is still at least a good year away from its release. I've encountered 3 different enemies in my playtime - a wasp, a stronger wasp and a wasp spawner. Enemies seem to level up with you so you can't even catch up if you fall behind. Everything seems way too deadly and tanky but there's nowhere for me to grow stronger (as far as I can tell). Playing the game just makes me feel lost (Where should I currently be at?), confused (What…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never heard of this game but when I saw it on the early access section I thought it looked cool. Me and my friend bought it and we think it is awesome, we have only gotten to level 6 but I am loving the game so far. I sat down and really looked at my gear and raised my projectile count to 6 and I am destroying creeps. Looking forward to finding more ways to make myself OP and kill some more creeps!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all I know the developer and I have tested this game a lot before it released. I'd like to say some words here after seeing the early access release and how things turned out. The developer is super dedicated to make this a great game and he is listening to feedback and to the comminuty. The game combines roguelite elements (f.e. randomly generated dungeons and items) with RPG elemenets (You keep your character and some of your progress). The current version is super polished and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very challenging and fun roguelike. My most favorite part is the item attribute system, which lets you try many different styles and be able to always find items with better attributes fitting your style. Really inspiring to see how one developer can make such a well polished game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A budget loot ARPG. Graphics are a little too cutesy. Mobs are a little too samey. (I've killed literally nothing but bees/beehives and I'm almost 1 hour in.) Classes, loot, skills, and skilltree are all pretty decent. Combat isn't bad but something about walking around and fighting felt a little more tedious than I'd like. Probably due to the lack of variety of mobs and terrain art. I probably won't play this too much longer but I don't think of it as bad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got bored after doing prison map only, ( there is no other maps early on)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man lets you out of cell, you explore the prison and then find a wand. you kill a few enemies, make it out of the prison, and get teleported to an island with vendors and a guy who apparently opens portals, but since you have no bones, you can't pay him to open a portal to the next zone. Basically, 7 minutes of play for $15... don't really think that is worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first i hated the stiff game play. After 5 minutes i started liking the nature of this rogue style action game. And after half and hour in the middle of a battle my controls stopped working and i died soon after. This was what we call, a game breaking bug. And that made up my mind for what to do with a game like this... I would give this a rating of 5 out of 10 points because of these kind of bugs in a game. If the bug wasn't present and if controls were mapped correctly the i would say a 6…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game and I want a little more functionality. Such as warehouse, ranking... All in all this is a good game to play with friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FUN! in deth co-op twin stick hack n slash shooter you can play anywhere with steam link & controller support
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Large/Long empty rooms and a lot of them. No monster minimums for areas, making leveling more of a chore than a necessity, also turning all monsters feeling the same. Lack of monster variety. has good bones but will see how it develops. Honestly wasn't worth the time I played. I do hope it gets better

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Other than the skill system this game feels like an asset flip. The graphics are on the bad side of generic and in 4 hours I found 3 enemy types and 1 boss. All of this could be slightly forgivable if the game was actually fun, but it's not. Combat is a slog, every mob take tons of hits to kill and you cannot absorb more than 2-4 hits without dying, so you're stuck in minutes-long high-pressure fights against the most unrewarding uninteresting opponents. The only decent part of the game is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*Review too old, read the edit. Not quite cooked yet in its current form. No buying items. No actual character customization(you don't choose stats or unique playstyle, except minimally and interchangeably on weapons). As it stands, you level up and pick what type of stick you whack with. Only buy this game in its current state if you are willing to help the dev with massive design choices. Such as "what are the secondary gameplay motivations?" The artstyle and gamefeel are promising,…

Si lo vendieran a 5€, tendría un pase, pero es que cuesta casi 20 €. Lo compré en un bundle en Fanatical por 0.60 €, y aún así me parece caro para lo que ofrece.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a stupid game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this game for half an hour, only ever had one weapon, the enmies got stronger real fast, there were spawner everywhere and i only ever saw one type of enemies. I can imagine that it is more fun and more managable with friends and once you get a bit further but to me it felt so lackluster that i didn't have the motivation to continue on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →enjoyable game - is interesting but the difficulty level is quite big
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts fun but becomes grindy verrry quickly. Underdeveloped for $20. Biomes have the same few enemies with variations on their health that typically mean repeating the same actions for a minute before they die. Only certain enemies and chests drop loot. Bosses will instant kill you. Overall, I put it on the low side of meh. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like a basic, budget asset flip. Whoever developed it wasted their time, squandering it in the most apathetic, lifeless way possible. It’s clear that no passion or creativity went into this, as there’s nothing inspired or worthwhile. It’s junk that should remain forgotten. If you’re unlucky enough to get it in a bundle, don’t bother.

I thought maybe you were a lost Warman parent." <awkward laugh> Him: "Yea #8 is mine. No, I'm not cheering for Warman. I fucking hate Warman."
unlabelledView post →Fun little game. Enjoyable but not very deep. It could use more variety in monsters, drops & scenery but worth it's price even if it left me wanting it to be more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have to say this game is amazing with friends and considering its Early Access status, its more than worth its price ! I will say it is a little rough to get into immediately as the barrage of stats is something you have to come to learn, but within a good half an hour you'll be hooked tuning your character to your play style ! Definitely a 10/10 for me !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun to play though i havent played much. The updates are nice as well as response from the dev. Simple yet developing idea which will hopefully continue to grow in the future.
