A super funny and awesome take on a twin-stick, tower defence shooter. For this price it's an absolute steal, worth every penny. Do yourself a favour, instead of reading these reviews just go slay your day away! P.S. There is some absolute banging music in this game

To be honesty I did like this game for awhile. It was entertaining and I loved the different worlds and weapons that you get to experience along the way. However I am locked out of my room where a quest is waiting for me which I cannot access. Customer service has been completely non-responsive despite multiple emails explaining the situation where I feel like I cannot progress further in the story. So as much as I want to love this game to it's full potential, it does not live up to it as I…

REFUNDED. I loved the idea of the game just not the game play. The game puts you in areas where you need to gather scrap to build deference an gather weapons for your-self while fighting your biggest enemy in the game PORTAL THE TIMER. So if that sounds fun to you then this is the game for you. Just not me.

Slaycation Paradise is a handheld (Nintendo Switch) and console ported game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld gaming audience. The game is a 3D rendered 2D top down survival/extraction shooter where you travel to a parallel Earth (I guess it's better than just zombies) and shoot the inhabitants for a while, achieve some minor mission objectives (collect this or that, blah blah) and then extract. You can build towers and…

This is a bit of a mixed bag. It's fun and a little funny, but it honestly doesn't have a ton of content, and the humor gets old fast. If you can get it cheap, you'll have a few good hours. If it's not on sale, I'd look for something more substantial.

5/10 decent tower defense do i think its worth 15$? nope. needs more content or at least local co-op - only one playable character - 5 small levels and endless modes for each you keep getting sent back to the same tiny levels with a small chunk of map unlocked or a new objective. + decent bit in the variety of guns + tiny upgrades of all kinds - almost no healing in level and death resets the entire thing. - mid tier upgrades cost an arm and a leg. insane how much grinding you need for one of…

It feels like this is still in beta, where it has some good concepts that just need to be fleshed out. However, I've now been insta-killed about 5 times now on the same level, with no indication of what is actually killing me. No signs of losing health, just collapsing and dying in hell, again and again.

This was a fun game. Calling it a tower defence is a stretch... more like you have turrets you can drop, which aren't necessary late game. I have no idea how to unlock the 6th ally Finally found Harold in New Amsterdam. It also appears that you're encouraged to complete each level 4 times? This is fun game that lets you get OP which is refreshingly satisfying. Great for a weekend of gameplay. I will be back if there are any expansions offered!

Game like this would require the kind of gameplay that feels good and feels easy and fun. Instead the gameplay and the mechanics are very clunky. And because the gameplay isn't enjoyable in the least, I don't see a reason to play.

Unsatisfying! There isn't any story ramp-up that makes the repetitive play in any way worth it. The only reason to keep playing is to try out the new toys, which are interesting for about a minute. The grind-economy is ridiculous, the enemies are stupid, the buildable constructions are junk. There's about 50% of an okay game in here, but that's about it.

This has been a very fun game so far. I like twin stick shooters and I really liked how they added the tower defense aspect to the game. Easy to plop down turrets and other gadgets to help you through missions. Fast and quick missions so if your strapped for time, you can a couple rounds in and feel like you accomplished something. It's early access, but I haven't run into anything buggy or game breaking. Been really smooth so far. Its a quick, fun game that I hope gets more biomes and weapons…

Slaycation Paradise is bit of a hidden gem, albeit one you likely won't enjoy for more than 20 hours. I went in unsure what to expect, but it seemed to have enough quirky humour and good mechanics to be worth a try, and it is. At its core, it's a top-down extraction shooter with rougelite and very light tower defense mechanics. The humour is a mix of several early 2000's titles such as Postal, Stubbs the Zombie, and Destroy All Humans, with enemies ranging from zombies, to sentient sex dolls,…

It's alright. Looter/shooter is always kind of alright. But I'm guessing there's a better game already in your library -- just play that. They basically didn't balance anything at all, but it's single player so who cares? Some weapons are just so much better than others that playing with the others is like a new difficulty setting. Difficulty is all over the place, with early game and survival mode being silly on later stages. That's largely because of the weapon issues -- you start with…

Hilarious little topdown shooter, silly premise and a few different weapons with a decent enough variety of weapons, although I did end up relying on the wand and murder kittens entirely by the end :D Would be nice if you could select difficulty instead of it defaulting to the hardest available, but once you've got a decent loadout this is rarely too big of an issue.

After 13 Hours of Gameplay Alls I Can Tell You Is The Games Great And All But... Here's My Review Points: (Very Critical) 1. The Weapons Level System is based on the level of the area and the weapon you pick up meaning if you pick a common white gun up at level 30 in hell for example (lol) the gun can only max out at level 35 and no farther. idk why the level cap is so strict on this one thing in particular because i would think the weapon levels would've been done properly like the ability…

Hot damn. This game is better than it has any right to be. Full transparency, I don't play a lot of games like this, so my experience with the genre is limited. But for a whimsical little game by a smaller developer, Slaycation nails it. Basically, you enter a location filled with zombie-monster things. You have a few objectives to complete before the extraction timer reaches 0 and the 'return portal' opens up (around 10 mins). During that time, you'll run around finding items and build…

This game is super fun if you're into twin stick shooter/shoot'em'up lite rpg games. I had a blast playing it. My only complaint is there weren't more levels. I took my time playing it and it still went by really fast. Hope DEV's add more levels, and maybe some character customization. I randomly found this game while checking through my library, and its art style being similar to Wasteland got my attention. I didn't quite expect to like it as I like top-down shooters but I usually hate the tower defense genre, but after spending 10 hours I guess I had an unconscious attachment to it. Slaycation Paradise is less tower defense-y than I anticipated and it's a more "start shooting and build whatever when you're at it" kinda game. The early game is definitely carried by turrets…

☀️ As a small-budget & scale title, it's well-built and fun to play. It has a lot of good and varied weapons, a simple tower defense, and some crazy + classic location settings. Five worlds, lvling, looting, and nonstop action. You're overpowered, but not an immortal tank. There are plenty of enemies, the environment are interesting enough, the graphics are simple, but the story and concept are fun. Slaycation Paradise is a perfectly fine fusion of twin-stick shooting and tower defense. The core loop is fun for a while: book an apocalyptic tour, set up your turrets, and blast away hordes of monsters with a variety of silly weapons. It works, and it kept me engaged enough to play for 10 hours. However, it never really evolves beyond that initial concept. The gameplay can start to feel repetitive after you've seen the different biomes and weapon types. While I finished the main content, I…

Game is good but too many bugs. I've picked up blueprints only to not receive the newly unlocked content, I've picked up a blueprint and unlocked a flamethrower turret only to have the unlocked blueprint (I spent resources to unlock it) disappear from my unlock list and acquired list. If they fix the bugs I'd say yeah get it's good but as of now not really.

I'm not typically one for twin-stick shooters or the tower defense genre whatsoever, but something about Slaycation Paradise drew me in from the get-go. It was quirky, explosive, and, from what I could gather by the marketing material, the game didn't take itself seriously. In my book, that's a huge plus. Reminds me a little of the How To Survive and Welcome To ParadiZe games by Eko Software. If you enjoyed the quirky offbeat humor of those titles, you will find more to enjoy here for sure. The game is quite good at generating some very tense, all hell breaking loose, scenarios. Being able to construct a makeshift defensive camp on the fly to fight off the horde is pretty cool.

Slaycation Paradise is a frenetic, tongue-in-cheek action title developed by Affordable Acquisition and published by Silver Lining Interactive that gleefully mashes together twin-stick shooting, light tower-defense mechanics, and a satirical vision of the apocalypse as a luxury holiday destination. Slaycation Paradise is an isometric twin-stick shooter with a healthy dose of tower defence and a dash of extraction thrown in for good measure. It's mechanically sound and graphically solid, but it's real draw is the humorously strange and absurd world the devs have created. It's an okay game but with a bunch of the weapons being outclassed by others or just straight up unreliable (along with the fact only the DPS is shown instead of a flat Damage count) makes a majority of the arsenal worthless, such as the wand being a straight upgrade to the SMG because while the SMG DOES have higher DPS count, the Wand is more superior because it has homing meaning the DPS is significantly more consistent. The fact that the survival maps are either really easy or insanely hard…

It's similar to those swarm type games where you fight a bunch of mobs, but now you can place down turrets or blockades to assist you. Theres no perks in the storyline, but there is a gamemode where you play the swarms with perks, but also with turrets. They have a nice upgrade tree, freely swappable modifiers, and a simple to understand gun upgrade path.

The gameplay is shooter, looting and tower defence in proportion of 50/30/20 respectively. There's a variety of enemies, locations and guns which lets you to go through the "story" without feeling bored too much. A couple of hours in I can safely say that it's a great purchase. I needed a few runs to get the ropes of things (and quite a lot of the gameplay remains unexplained) but it's a very solid roguelike that doesn't take too long for a run. For some the humor may be a bit flat and pubecent, but I think it adds some flavor to the game. Only downside IMO is the lack of a coop option, because it would make for a great coop game.
