Asdivine Hearts looks like a charming reincarnation of the old 2D JRPGs from the 16/32Bit era. It kind of reminds me of games like Lunar, Grandia and Phantasy Star. We've had quite a few games of this type released over the last few years, but as a true fan of the genre, I was a bit disappointed with many of them, since they felt a bit dull, as if being 2D JRPGs with turn-based battles and a semi-decent story was supposed to be enough to make them good games. I've only just begun playing…

This is what happens when you take a 5 hour game and stretch it into 30 hours. Terribly repetitive. The combat, the locations, the lame jokes... You'll see and hear it all within the first 5 hours. Then it's recycled and thrown at you again and again and again. What a grinder.

After 21 hours, I found this turn-based RPG to be a chore to play. Not a good sign... I tried to get into this game, but nothing here can keep my interest anymore. Pros: -Nice artwork, unique character design, bright colorful graphics. -Steam overlay support, low system requirements, decent price. -Xbox 360 controller support no setup required. Cons: -Story is boring, towns are bare bones, battle system gets boring. -Music is terrible, sound effects are terrible, no voice acting. -Character…

Disclaimer: This 'review' does not convey the full extent of the experience as I couldn't play it past 20 minutes. My first impression of this game is negative. Its not abysmal, its not mediocre either. My first feelings after playing this game for a bit was regret and disapointment. Which seems to be a trend for many new games on Steam nowadays, but I digress. !!BEWARE!! This is a mobile port. Which is important information that is surprisingly missing from the steampage and even other…

What can i say about this game? It involves a hilarious talking cat, a boy and girl who are so close act like brother and sister, parallel worlds, Gods, and treasure hunting. This is a great rpg, and from what i heard of this, it is a phone port, but we don't get all the rest of the game series on here for some reason. This game is quite fun and i really enjoyed it when i played it. This game is much recommended just for the funny comments the cat has with the heroes..especially the…

Originally released in 2014, and later ported to Steam in 2016, Asdivine Hearts is a 2D Turn-Based JRPG developed by the well known studio Exe Create Inc. Completely inspired by the classics, this is one of those titles that bring memories in HD, that is to say, classic gameplay, with a modern approach! In the fabulous world of Asdivine, two distinct deities are responsible for the stability of the world. The Light deity, and the Shadow one. Both important, as one creates life, and the other…

WIN! I'm enjoying this game. The writing is amateur and non-serious, and I find myself smiling and even laughing out-loud when I read some of the dialog between the characters, so win for that. Not everything needs to be super-serious. I can tell there's a story in there, as the creators use classic, and cheesy, anime-style "internal dialogues" to heighten the drama surrounding certain characters and events. Combat feels FAST, most of the time. There are a few abilities, like "BIte", that have…

A simplistic, basic RPG. Goes out of its way to hand hold you. Just going thru basic story scenes you will hear the same fanfare again and again and again of "new quest added" as you're simply walking from A to B. Places to explore literally do not exist until you must go there in the storyline. Skills and magic are annoyingly unbalanced, and as the bosses get harder and harder, you'll find yourself more and more annoyed with how crippled you are. After finishing two major story beats, light…

A great return of classic JRPG! Among the games published from KEMCO, Asdivine Hearts is worth trying, especially. Sufficient gameplay time with great story. It's the best in this field. Recommend! The main character of this game is Jack. And he was an orphan, but practiced himself hard so far. Now he wants to leave the orphanage with his childhood friend Stella. They help the wounded animal in their journey. That animal was a wild cat. And the cat was related to the spirit of the Light Deity.…

This game, quite simply, failed to hook me. The graphics are fine and the combat system has some interesting innovations, but the random battles happen way too often. Ehh I mean it's not terrible? But I can't really think of much it does that's worth seeing. But the characters are pretty one dimensional, the plot is very RPG-by-the-numbers, the world and dungeon design is super uninspired, the soundtrack is incredibly limited, the combat is OK I suppose, and it gets pretty grindy and really starts to drag towards the end. I can't really recommend this, especially at £9. It's a pound cheaper on the Google Play Store if you're that desperate. PS: If you are…

https://youtu.be/EBEIQDyFreU The powers of light and darkness clash once again and this time some unexpecting mortals are sucked into the conflict. Join 'Zack SwordBro' and 'Stella Whipston' as they try to abandon their pet cat in the local forest only to have it possessed by a deity, and then things get real zany! The choice to go with fewer high quality visuals for makes Asdivine Hearts stand out from the increasingly crowded RPG market. Fortunately the gameplay is there to back it up and…

While overall I have been enjoying this game, mostly due to story and RPG elements, I do have a few gripes: - Very weird thematically. It has a fairly PG-13 art style and plot overall but I was surprised about a couple story events like the perverted guards who try and fondle the female characters and the "don't touch me there". Personally, I didn't have anything against it but it seemed off... if it were me, I would either give up the "PG" image entirely or make something that I felt would be…

Graphics & sound are quite ok, though the game is locked to 30fps and motion looks bad as a result. Controller support is functional yet navigating the menus with it takes time to get used to since all overlays assume keyboard control. The story is interesting enough. The gameplay itself is fun. Gem management can seem a chore, though it does add an interesting element to the game. Overall it feels like PC emulation of an enjoyable jrpg.. The port could have done with more polish though it's…

As a fan of RPG games, I appreciate this game. It isn't the flahiest, but the writing is good, at least in the two hours I have played so far. This game has many improvements you may have seen in games of this genre such as a layered battle order (front, middle, back rows), active time battles where a character's speed etc. determine their attack order, and a unique gem equipping angle which boost your stats as well as give you something interesting to craft. I can't say alot for my history with Kemco, this being the second game of theirs that I've bought ("Chrome Wolf" on mobile being the first), I gotta' say though: I'm quite impressed. With respect towards those who haven't played this game yet, I won't spoil the plot (essentially, the characters are escorting a "light deity" (in the form of a cat) to regain his/her/it's former power in order to defeat the "shadow deity"), but it seems pretty run of the mill for an rpg as far as plot goes. This is another low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoff spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Kemco, the makers of many classic SNES games like Top Gear and Lagoon, and who now makes games nearly exclusively for the mobile market, decided to make/translate a few of their games to the PC. (And FWIW I wish they would bring more to the PC). I've played their games before many times on many systems, and one thing all their games seem to have in common is an almost generic consistancy. They don't push the envelope in terms of graphics or gameplay. But sometimes that's OK: there are thoes…

Asdivine Hearts is a classic, party-based JRPG that aims for a familiar “old-school” adventure: explore towns and dungeons, talk to NPCs, and fight a steady stream of turn-based battles. It doesn’t try to reinvent the genre, but it delivers a straightforward journey with a light tone and a comfortable pace. The story starts with a world that’s gradually slipping into trouble after a strange event, and the main characters get swept into something much bigger than their everyday lives. Early on,…

It's an alright JRPG. Not interesting at all for those who don't enjoy the genre, but if you do, you'll get some fun out of it. Exploration and questing is extremely basic, and the story is too. Characters are okay; there's a bit of a harem angle with the central man but it doesn't go to weird/creepy anime levels. The jewels (which essentially amount to accessories in other games, despite how different the system initially appears), and what you can do with them, are pretty neat, however they…

A very good JRPG with challenging fights and interesting storyline. I originally played on normal mode, but I have to switch to easy just to rush the story line! One bad aspect of this game is the equipments. They are uninteresting and you need to keep upgrading them on a regular basis to go forward. Past your 3rd or 4th equipment upgrade, you will get boring with them. The items are quite nice. A few of them are quite helpful, but you most likely will never use 80% of them on your run

Some of the design choices caught my attention (like assigning gems) and none of it was so unpalatable that I stopped playing. Don't drop a ton of money on this, especially if you aren't a JRPG fan already, but if you enjoy the genre you'll find this game enjoyable enough to not regret purchasing it, especially on sale. Basically, its a mid-level game at a mid-level price.

Muchas magias y habilidades., con "limits breaks" un poco a lo Final Fantasy VII original, y un ataque especial que se va cargando conforma peleas. The playstyle is typical to what you may expect from a JRPG - exponential difficulty spikes that are to be mitigated with hours of monotonous grinding. If you're considering picking up the title, do keep the above in mind as it will feel like a slog at some point. That aside, this is quite well made and fairly enjoyable. The story does make less sense the further you progress into it though. $10 is a little too steep, wait for a 50% sale.

Just dont expect to use the "currency shop" that used to be how it was monitized but you cant purchase the currency now so its basically impossible to collect enough to buy anything cool, and even if you did you would have something better by the time you did it. A large world. Grind your way to the end credits. As opposed to getting chest pains from the intensity or stuck and/or discouraged in the middle. Cheap too. Which is important when the danger exists of spending $60 and getting stuck, overwhelmed or just not liking it.

Tags: Topdown - RPGMaker&PartyRPG Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: This is some sort of custom engine RPGMaker game. Anime-style characters felt shallow. Writing felt a bit underpar. The jewel system felt convoluted. Did not draw me in.

A interesting game, that while it isn't deep, it will be intertaining for a while.
