60 of 81 · most liked firstSo I'm not really into the hidden object point/click adventures, but I was amused by the concept and thought I would give this one a try. I liked the idea, so here we go. Good: The concept is actually pretty interesting. The story has a basic set up: New Orleans has fallen under some kind of curse and its up to a rookie voodoo witch to set things straight. The idea of an adventure that themes itself around 'realistic' magick and spell-craft is pretty cool in my opinion, and it seems to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Based on my experience, when a HOG comes out from Gogii Games, we are to expect either a real treat, close in standard to Artifex Mundi, or a complete waste of time that would make you pull your hair out with frustration. For Voodoo Whisperer: Curse of a Legend, I sincerely cannot decide what to say. It is neither of our expected choices. There are good things and bad things to say about this game, but they kinda even each other out at the end. The curtain opens up to 1930s New Orleans,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the first time I have wished that there was a Neutral button for a review. The Good: This game has a great story that pulls you in, a great atmosphere that gives some genuine chills, some well done puzzles and the objects that you need to find to use to progress make sense. The Bad: A very abrupt cliff-hanger ending that leaves your heroine in peril with no sequel in sight. :-( It leaves you feeling as though you are missing two thirds of the game. Conclusion: Although I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too bad there is no middle ground here: it's a positive or a negative rating you have to make. Not everything is bad in that game, yet I can't recommend it and forced to put a negative rating with the system. I love Hidden Objects games and while I can forgive a lot of stuff, I can't really recommend this one for a reason: I don't always have enough hints to guide me into the story. The tasks are self-explanatory but you don't have any hint for where to go. And when you're sure you need a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you can pick this up cheap then it is worth roughly 2-3 hours of clicky click. The find the hidden object parts are pretty easy and it has a decent story but it ends with....To Be Continued.....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love hidden object games. I understand there are some items that are confusing or that you don't expect what they are, but that's the point of those games. There's a couple of problems of this game that makes me dislike it, but not hate it. I live in south Louisiana, so I know about the culture and stuff around here. Apparently, this game failed to capture it. Using only Voodoo to relate to New Orleans doesn't help. Another thing is the abrupt ending. I like the story, but the ending just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. More of an older style adventure game with hogs, but the hogs were quick(easy to find items with the helpful magnifying glass accessory) and fascinating as all the items were of the period and beautifully depicted. The story was engrossing and I didn't want it to end, which sadly it does, on a cliffhanger. This developer (Gogii games)is Canadian (like me!), and I feel proud , as it can't have been easy, competing with the big name developers of the time. I will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly good game. Very entertaining and for less than 5€, it's a catch. If you dont use the hint button a lot and if you try the advance mode, it's more fun to play and you prolong the gameplay. All in all, a very clever game with lots of puzzles, amazing searching of things/clues and interesting enough plot to make you keep playing on. Warning, it has four areas to search/play and stops there with a "to be continued"...sadly I wanted more areas to play and find out the secrets behind…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to pick this one up since the story looked interesting. I'm very glad I did! Although the basic interface and gameplay is the same as most hidden object games, I found the Grimoire + Mortar system for recipes/potions and the magic system to be a refreshing change from the usual fare. I only wish there had been more of it. The game is what I consider "Artifex Mundi style" in that it's a combination of hidden object and point-and-click, although this one…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is literally I SPY: New Orleans with other minor puzzles involved. It's a point and click adventure. It is okay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DON'T BUY IS NOT FULL GAME. The game is not full it ends with a cliff hanger and there is NO SEQUEL. It was a good game and there is quite a bit to it. However one of the comments posted a response from a Dev saying they ran out of money and never finished the game or made a sequel.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first sight you expect to have a whole game. But what you get is nothing like it at all. It seems to skip part of the story. It says go to the hotel, but instead of that you end up at the bank. The map is big, but only a few places will become active. And they cut the game short by putting in a "to be continued". But there is no part 2. So, at this point, the story is unfinished, and you will never know the ending. The story itself is interesting, but because at least 1 part is missing, it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this had a good plot and the hidden object scenes were very difficult. However, just as the plot is getting pretty good, suddenly the antagonist pushes the protagonist into a well and the game kicks you out, declaring that it will be continued. No explanation of how, when or where it will be continued. I suppose it truely means game over.

I've been playing older HOG and I'd have to say that this one is probably at the bottom of the list right now. Compared to other games of areound the same time, this one lacks in animation - There is no mouth movement, cutscene movements feels off or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a nice HOG with an abrupt ending. pros. nice story ok music cons. as the ending got juicy it gets an abrupt ending.... it just says to be continued? there is no second part for this game. very easy no voice acting apart from the opening cut scene short (2 hours for the main story) no bonus story despite those cons i did enjoy the game. i recommend it. though for being short and not really having an ending i only recommend getting it on sale. 5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’d probably go with a mixed review if I could. The hidden object scenes are okay, but the point and click adventure part has some pixel hunting and there is no instant travel map or even a regular map. The setting is 19th century New Orleans where you have to save the city from evil forces that use voodoo. Fortunately, you have begun learning voodoo yourself and are able to pick up a few spells along the way. It’s an interesting premise, but I’ll go with a thumbs down because the story is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros + good looking and detailed graphics + puzzles are enjoyable. you can also collect ingridients and make potions + creepy atmosphere. i like Louisiana setting + voodoo story is intriguing + hidden object elements are fun. + hint system very helpful + there is auto save cons - game could have been longer. - there are no steam achievements - game doesn't drop cards. - abrupt cliffhanger ending is rushed and clearly designed to set up a sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unless they have a sequal this game is really a good game but the ending leaves much to be desired and I can't find a continuation of the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mixed reviews had me concerned but I actually really enjoyed this! It's definitely one of the better Gogii games, in fact, I think I might've liked it more than other AM games. PROS: > Beautiful visuals, especially the HOs! They were real images I think, but they went very nicely with the also near-real looking backgrounds! They aren't too skewed so they looked like they really belonged together with each other. The images were also fairly sharp to me, so honestly I'm just pleased with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's been months since I finished playing this game and I still think about poor old fish lips stuck at the bottom of the well forever, poor thing. Not the best HOG but also not the worst HOG, averagely average. Still worth playing if you get it in a bundle or sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice hidden object/puzzle game. The artwork was lovely, though some of the objects were hard to find based on the descripion (ie looking for 'an ashtray' and it turned out to be a metal frog with a hole on top). It was a good balance of challenging and casual. I like that it indicates when a room has been searched and solved completely by saying 'area cleared at the top'. The storyline was unique and interesting. It does end quite suddenly with a 'to be continued', but the game was a good…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wish I could give this game a mixed review and not just a thumbs up or a thumbs down. It was certainly interesting, the plot was fun and the concept was great. However playing it often times felt tedious. The puzzles were often recycled and in the hiden picture scenes it could be almost impossible to find hidden objects due to their color or location. The game clearly wanted you to use the magnifying glass the provide you with to find those objects, but again it just seems tedious. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If it is in the sale and you know that you like simple hidden object games, this is your poison! But if you pick this for the story or "amazing" cut scenes look elsewhere, it ends with a to be continued and not a hint of how or when... I found myself laughing at the "animation" and story through the game and enjoyed looking for the items. its worth the pound odd I payed for the enjoyment of 3 something hours so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a nice adventure game. The ending is a bit cliff-hanging, but I took it better than expected (provided all the negative comments here about it), I'll definitely wait for the sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay is fun and challenging, Lots of stuff to do, and lots of stuff to explore. So that is definetely a plus. On the downside, and this is why i will not recommend this game. The ending of the game is very sudden and unexpected, leaving You wonder who the bad man is/was and what the ♥♥♥♥ is happening. The game itself states that You are saving the town of New Orleans from a curse, in reality You will save like 4 people and then the game ends. Price was okay, but considering the short…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to be so negative about such a small game, but... what the HECK kinda story is that? If you're going to try and infuse your hidden object game with lore and a story, maybe you should actually run with it instead of ending it SO abruptly with potential MURDER? Aside from THAT... the game is fine I guess. I hate giving it a thumbs down, but I can't bring myself to give it a thumbs up. The gameplay itself is fine and I enjoyed the puzzles, but the devs really shot themselves in the foot…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Voodoo Whisperer: Curse of a Legend is a supernatural hidden-object adventure developed by Gogii Games and published by Strategy First that blends classic item-hunting mechanics with light spellcraft and a moody New Orleans backdrop steeped in voodoo folklore. Designed as a story-driven casual puzzle experience, it leans heavily into atmosphere and thematic intrigue rather than fast-paced gameplay or intricate mechanics. The result is a methodical adventure that unfolds through observation,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: Broken Game! This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. the game doesn't launch properly, it just forces your desktop into a locked 800x600 resolution and hangs, but you can at least alt+tab and kill the game process to recover your desktop. "Voodoo Whisperer Curse of a Legend" is an older game from 2014. It's a venerable 10 years old at the time of this review. "Voodoo Whisperer Curse of a Legend" is a Hidden Object puzzle game,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Save New Orleans from A Dark Voodoo Curse Continuing my trend of playing hidden object adventure games, I decided to try this one after an okay experience with The Fog. This one felt even more fitting for the Spooky Season, which was really lovely. Set in 19th-century New Orleans, we play as a young girl named Lillian, who is being mentored to use her magical abilities by Marie Laveau, the most powerful voodoo priestess around. However, as we are being taught, an evil and mysterious curse is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very difficult to find some of the hidden objects because of the darkness of the background. Very few actual puzzles. One has to find items in a specific order, for example, if you're going to need a shovel instead of being able to pick it up the first time you see it one has to complete the steps leading up to figuring out that you need the shovel - even when you can see the patch of ground that needs shoveling right in front of you. And to be continued - seriously the game isn't even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot of potential and I actualy really enjoyed it until the story line was cut short with a "TO BE CONTINUED" .... total bummer there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is really a good little hidden object game that in the classic sense where it is mostly hidden object sections rather than some other games being more puzzles than hidden object hunting. Also, the hidden object sections actually make sense unlike some other HOGs where stuff is where it should be in common sense terms. It is a short game, but if you are looking for a good, classic HOG, this is a good choice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the game. I'm not extremely good at solving puzzles so I appreciated the fact that I was able to solve most of the puzzles in this game without using the "cheat" button. And when I did get stuck there was a way out. The graphics were well done. The hidden objects were well hidden in most cases but not too difficult to find with some effort. I liked the game's theme based on voodoo. Music supported this atmosphere. I liked the plot so it was very disappointing when the game ended with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ummmm ... is that it? For what you pay, they definitely could have made it a bit longer or more interesting ... Nice feel to the point and click game but WAY TOOO short. Four "areas" only (home, saloon, bank and mayor's house) ... for the map shown I would have expected about 7. I liked the puzzles and pictures. That's about it. Story line short and a little pointless Sorry not worth the money spent on the game. I'm a little disappointed and feel robbed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've giving this a "no," even though I want to give it a "maybe" or a "yes." As a HOG. it's very good. The graphics are outstanding, including the HO scenes. The music and sound effects fit the theme well, and the story, while nothing special, is enough to keep you playing. The game tries some interesting departures from traditional HOGs with some minor spell crafting involved. The reason I'm split about this game, even though I thought it was good, is that the version on Steam is missing a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You end up thrown in a well and left to die "To Be Continued". Fsck that!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Visually top notch, unusual storyline, and intriguing setting. Biggest problem? The hint system is under-developed. If you're not going to give enough clues directly, you need to have at least a hint system robust enough to steer you to the right room without needing a recharge. that said, I can definitely reccomend this game despite that large flaw - the story is definitely different, the animation is well-done, and the HOG are incredibly well-detailed as well as authentic to the rough time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What is this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass ending
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice and retro game BUT there's no ending or a sequel, leaves you with a cliffhanger.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tldr: an old 'hard on the eyes' game with a missing ending that i would not recommend to any hidden objects game enjoyer aka If you're really that curious about the story just look it up on youtube or something. i hate to dog on game creators but this came out in 2014 so i'm sure i have a little bit of leeway to be a little mean with this, so where do i start? the graphics: the 3d work is ultimately not bad especially for the time in game development with smaller companies/creators however…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like that Gogii's hidden object games look different. The art style is much more grim and dark and has a great atmosphere. The gameplay, however, is subpar. Many of the objects in the HO scenes are very difficult to recognize, everything blends together. The hint system is a bit useless at times, although it's cool that the game tells you there's nothing else to do in that area. And there is no voice acting, so the game feels a bit sleepy and boring.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting HOG game with occasionally difficult HOG scenes. Feels like every HOG but with a bit more of an adventure game feel at rare times. Overall, an enjoyable experience, though the non-ending (to be continued) and lack of a sequel are a bit disappointing since this HOG felt a tiny bit different. Oh, the MC's face and walking animation feel like a decade older in style compared to the rest of of the game. Kind of nightmare fuel in a way. Very short overall, but according to what…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Hidden Object screens are a bit obnoxious - some things you have to find are almost completely hidden behind other objects to the point where you can't tell what it is. Not many puzzles mostly just item collection but it kept me entertained. Shame it's TBC though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Generic hidden object game #239. Nothing of note to even say. It's just boring. HOG scenes are usually drab and everything blends together too much. First time playthrough: 3 hours 12 minutes 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It ends with a sequel??? Where is it then?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary A decent but old hidden object game done well with an unfortunate unfinished cliffhanger ending. Pros + Good gameplay + Decent story Cons - Cliffhanger Overview Voodoo Whisperer Curse of a Legend is a decent but old hidden object game with good setting, map exploration, hidden object areas, and puzzles to solve. There is voice overs which are done well enough but unfortunately its only done during the opening scene. It has an interesting enough setting and storyline that explains the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An unremarkable HOG with a bland story, a few irritating pixel hunts, and a couple nonsensical or badly optimized puzzles. I do like the spell mixing concept woven into the story, but the game as a whole is just not worth much thought.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one was really good, I really wish they had made the next part : <
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game doesn't have any closure at the end and some of the items in the Hidden object scenes are difficult to locate.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun hidden object game, with a major flaw. It isn't a complete story. There should be more at some point I'm sure, and the actual gameplay in having to visit some places more than once is a good mechanic. But getting to the end of the game as is and not getting to the end of the story is very annoying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the gameplay and story of this a lot. This game has a cool mechanic which requires you to make potions and stuff in order to progress. You will probably be disappointed by the ending, completely warranted, but I wasn't. I don't mind cliffhangers. Not a lot of replay value despite the fun. No collections or achievements. Still worth playing once if you like HOGs. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfinished, enjoyable with some challenge but disappointing to be left without a conclusion.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a tendency to not track and it floats all over the place
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well it a mixed bag, visually is really good, more realistic than most hog games but there is no support for wide screen, low resolution, some hog scenes are hard and tedious, items you have to find could be on the edge of the screen barley visible or everything is in so similar tone that it is very hard to find anything, you even have magnifying glass to make it little bit easier but still it is tedious and frustrating. Some puzzles are also to tedious, like when you have ripped piece of plain…

Constant backtracking. Recycled items and HO scenes. Arbitrary item locations. Slow Hints. Basically this is your typical medium and spirits of the dead story. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First: ITS INCOMPLETE, and seems like we will never get another chapter to properly complete it. However, I really enjoyed this game - the plot and atmosphere was intriguing and the hidden object scenes were well done. The art-style had a consistent expertise that is often missing from Hidden Object Games. I do wish it had some fun achievements.
