Beyond this, the price of the game is very low compared to what you are getting here. It's a low-priced monster capture with darkest dungeon vibes, where you upgrade your town to make traversing the maps easier. You level up, evolve, fix the genetics and have a equip system that lets you progress with the monsters you capture. You don't have to worry too much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now way to full heal after returning from a mission. You have to farm gold on multiple runs to afford 1 weak a** health potion. Upgrade materials are locked to one time completion of missions so its easy to softlock yourself almost immediately upon playing. Sound effects are terrible. Some attacks sound like someone knocking on a door. Creature designs suck. Specifically the bugs. Multiple look the exact same just different colors that match their Type of damage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is painful at times and a joy at others. Recommended with a big ol' buyer beware strapped to it. A promising start So where to begin? This game has an aesthetic that is simply gorgeous in the best grim-dark (glory to the emperor) sort of way. The creatures look fantastic, the animation is serviceable, and the branching rougelike - turn based fusion is an immediately appealing core mechanic. Mash that together with a fitting (if forgettable) sound track and you have a sure-fire…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't want to be harsh because this is clearly an indie title with a lot of love an care put together to make a unique monster training game, but it frustratingly falls short in ways that I find basic. Let me get the things I like out of the way. I like the monsters, they look fun and distinct, and have a unifying art direction that makes them feel like they belong in the same universe. The story, while not groundbreaking, is a fun little journey, albeit I never saw it to the end because…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOTE: I played the game and wrote this review before the developers decided to completely overhaul the mechanics—somehow making them even worse than they were before. Initially, I was inclined to recommend the game; despite its flaws, it was a decent effort from a small team of enthusiasts and I was excited to return to it after some balancing patches. But given the direction the game is now heading, I can no longer recommend it. Making a hard, challenging game that still feels fair and fun is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a big fan of Pokémon games, I was optimistic about Voidsayer, since taking those concepts in a darker, more challenging direction seemed to be a fun twist on the formula. To its credit, it does do some interesting things, such as making creature stats more readily accessible in combat so you can make informed decisions on each of your turns. Additionally, while it received a lot of flak from players for completely overhauling the mechanisms of the game when it hadn't even been out for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Due to how saving, permadeath and healing works in the game, you can easily end up softlocking yourself at any point if your party is too critically injured and you cant heal them for the next level. Would not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game's developer has no idea what they want. That might sound unsourced, but it's the only possible explanation for the insane choice they made. Less than two weeks in, they have fundamentally changed the mechanics behind monsters. This involved combining the types and abilities into one system called 'traits', in an effort to 'simplify' things. In practice it does the exact opposite, because it both removes helpful information included elsewhere (indicators that highlighted attacks with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Darkest Dungeon/Dark Souls meets Pokemon, with the slay the spire map for runs.. Brutally difficult, but greatly satisfying. NOTE - IF YOU DO NOT LIKE PAYING ATTENTION TO TYPE ADVANTAGES/STATUS EFFECTS/STATS, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. THE MID/LATE GAME MAKES THIS MATTER, WHICH IS SOMETHING THE DEMO DIDN'T SHOW YOU. I played the demo when it originally came out, and after nearly 100%ing the game (can't figure out the last achievement), I can say I've loved it in its entirety. Was there BS RNG? Of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not usually a fan of grim settings like this, but I gave the demo and spin, and there's just somethign chill about playing this. Even if I push too much and fail a run, it's not really painful. Nabbed it as soon as it released and it's not dissappointed thus far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →feels hard for no reason other than getting punished for nothing, it would be fine if there was some depth to combat and builds, needs more work has a lot of potential!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →super fun game and the concept with the different paths you can take on your adventures adds a nice little twist to it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im gonna start off saying i like this game. up to the 3rd boss I was addictive. but after that it started feeling like a slog and i kept just trying to push myself through until eventaully at the end of the game i kept asking "do i really want to do this?" but there are things that i feel can vastly improve that: 1: dont make any stage longer than 15 or even 17. its too long and makes me personally get bored. it also sucks when you hit bad RNG towards the end and have to go through all of it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe I come from a different world, but I don't really see a lot of the complaints that people have about this game. Here is the core game play loop / flow. Story > Prep to go out in the world > Go to open world map > Click on next level (like Super Mario World or other rogues), defeat the map > next map > next story, etc. It's got pokemon esque elements in terms of creature colleciton/evolutions, etc. You can go back to prior maps and complete them to farm for rare encounters/items and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i backed this on Kickstarter because i liked the idea of Darkest Dungeon meets Pokemon. Bad sadly i am not gonna recommend it, but it was a close one. The vibes and the estetics are there, all is dark and grimmy and the world is miserable, i like that. Also the feel of catching eldrich entitys and putting together a team and fighting the horros element is there but it pros are mostly in the estetics and not in the mechanics. wich brings me to the main downside - Mechanics. You are often…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game tries to mash up pokemon, slay the spire and darkest dungeon into 1 game. Result is: - Very boring fights in 1v1 and just spam attacks. (Similar to original pokemon red/blue) - Darkest Dungeon style expedition without any real choice on where to go and no real punishment for failure (no time limit or permadeath either). So basically the worst parts of Darkest Dungeon. - Slay the Spire style moving in "dungeon". Enjoyable somewhat, except that all encounters probabilities / results…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Released game, then completely overhauled it to change the combat system. That's all well and good, but don't release the game then immediately change it. That's not smart. If it hadn't already been two weeks I would have refunded this game. I can't stand when games just change completely over and over fundamentally making it not fun to learn and relearn how to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After launching the game, the dev arbitrarily decided to change almost everything about it, breaking all current builds and ripping out several core elements and strats. The changes are so fundamental that the screenshots and videos are now a lie. They recommended that players simply start over since their current set up is non viable. The game is a scam. Don't buy it.

HEAVILY INSPIRED FROM THE LIKES OF DARKEST DUNGEON, SLAY THE SPIRE AND POKEMON! THIS GAME TAKES ALL THE GOOD THINGS THOSE GAMES DID AND THROW THEM AWAY! BUT DONT WORRY! YOU KNOW THE CURSE/INJURY MECHANICS THOSE GAMES HAVE? WELL THIS GAME AMPS IT UP TOO ELEVEN! THE GAME CONSTANTLY FINDS NEW WAYS TO BEND YOU OVER FOR EVERY DECISION THAT YOU MAKE. ITS SO MUCH FUN HAVING TO AVOID EVERY…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been following the game since the Kickstarter days I was hoping it would come to Switch but looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon. I ended up getting Steam to try it Overall, while it may not be my all-time favorite game, but it does feel refreshingly unique. It’s really interesting to see this kind of interpretation of the genre. The combat system is fairly simple but compared to classic Pokemon. It’s actually a bit deeper. Visually it’s really lovely: the monster and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Voidslayer is like a mix of Darkest Dungeon and Pokemon. It's really fun! If you enjoy roguelikes, RPGs, or Cthulhu mythos/dark fantasy you should definitely check this game out. Has a few minor issues like grammar/spelling, some music tracks don't loop correctly, and some game balancing with the equipment and fights wouldn't be unwelcome, but for a 1 dev game that's fun, has cool art and is engaging for around $15 (or less) these are pretty minor nitpicks. I ran into an unfortunate bug after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is in a bad technical state right now. For example, in windowed mode only the first option you klick actually ever does anything. After that the interface just doesn´t react anymore until you do a restart. Even the "fast" battle animations are still slow without actually having much animation. Its basically the static image of the monster being moved around on the screen a bit Everything is pretty slow and clunky in general, and almost every node you hit on the map within missions…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is clearly indie, especially noticeable in the animations, but for its price, it’s quite decent and plays in an interesting way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The start of the game feels good so far. Setting is reasonably dark. I would say promising and probably worth the price
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just needs more time. Animations are static. Doesn't feel engaging. Just no.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the beta, great game. Excited to see the new features in 1.0 :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to love this game but I got to a point ware I had to grind old runs to get stronger than that take my resources to describe this game your sliding down a hill, fun at first then tree branches scrape you as you slide down
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Howdy everyone! Here's this week's schedule! We are highlighting a new indie game (Voidsayer), finishing up Kingdom Hearts 2, AND celebrating my birthday on stream this week!
unlabelledView post →Mythoes meets pokemon. It could us some better mechanics for missions progression. A better intro to really set the feel and help with understanding the game and setting. All in all though it looks good and is a fun little indie game. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished it today. It was a lot of fun! It delivers on what it promises : Creature tamer but with a dark twist. Loved the art with few exceptions, loved the vibe. I'll be on the lookout for other games the people that worked on this make in the future. And if a sequel ever comes out i will almost certainly be bying it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a really fun concept that sadly falls flat. I really enjoyed the art-style, premise and first few minutes of playing. I think it needs some work on the tutorial side, can be hard to understand what's going on, idk if there missing contrast or maybe too small of font, its kind of difficult to tell what the game is trying to tell me even when the tutorial pop-ups show. Without overly critiquing the animations/sound because I do actually think they did a really good job for a single…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible balancing, i am what... 5lvl above enemy and it doesnt matter, not even in the slightest. The info "If your stuck try buying consumables, or level up or change your team..." 1. I bought the whole store and i can tell you going up against 20+ enemies and not being able to buy more health potions and doing the run over and over again depending on nothing but luck... doesnt do it for me. 2. lvl up? Dude i am max level, remove the lvl cap and give me a fighting chance... else cut out the…

unlabelledView post →This game definitely doesn’t make the best first impression. I was sure I’d drop it in the first hour... But here I am 15 hours later still playing and hating that boss who’s destroyed me 8 times in a row. Pretty sure the dev is a bit of a sadist…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Picked it up last night and I'm excited to keep playing. The runs feel challenging, and the art and aesthetic feel brooding in the right ways. Seems like the dev is continuing to patch and update with balancing and performance improvements. It won't be everyone's taste, but I like it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not a good game at all. fights are slower than aids. everything lacks descriptions. controls are bad. tutorial is bad. cant move maps manually and sometimes the map doesn't most so your stuck and have to force the game to close. this game might be good in 5 years
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would consider this a fun game to play. Its difficult which is something I enjoy. You can "catch" monsters through each run that you can then use for future. I think its worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a masterpiece. I've heard different names being thrown around - Pokemon, Dark Souls, Slay the Spire - all trying to describe the unique vibe that this solodev caught. The creature collection aspect, learning the different mechanics, finding your team and navigating the difficulty is its own experience; if enjoy roguelikes, creature collectors or a lovecraftian vibe, try it. It's worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its alright, like a 5/10, i will finish it but there is no real depth to your monsters and the roguelite part is not adding any depth to it, the randomness is a minor incovenience after a while and not something that actually affects you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game Graphic's 9/10 Sound 9/10 Story 8/10 Design 8/10 Overall 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun , engaging, prompt support team. Definitely worth buying if you enjoy rogue like or creature collector games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some issues but overall decent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite playable, but rather repetitive - I doubt I’ll actually finish the game. But it still looks amazing and the vibe is super unique. Combat was a nice surprise too, not bloated, still got that old-school Pokemon feel, but with just enough extra spice to keep it interesting. That said the difficulty’s kinda nuts. Game doesn’t forgive jack, one tiny slip and boom, you’re eating 2% damage and might as well restart the whole run. On the plus side that pressure really nails the whole bleak vibe,…

unlabelledView post →i enjoy it. It can be a bit tedious at times but I still find it very enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Admittedly I'm not that far in yet, but so far I'm really enjoying this game. It has an art style somewhat reminiscent of Darkest Dungeon, and the village works similar in that you can upgrade buildings for different effects and buy items. There's also a Pokemon style element, in that there are creature battles where elemental traits can contribute to stronger or weaker attacks against enemies, depending on the enemy elemental traits. The map reminds me slightly of the map system in Cult of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely scratches the itch if you are looking for something similar to darkest dungeon but also like pokemon. for the price the games is right now, its certainly worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall: 7.5/10 Gameplay: 7/10 Visual aesthetics: 6.5/10 Content: 7/10 Customization: 8.5/10 The game is really good and surprisingly challenging. It's like a grimdark mix between slay the spire and pokemon in a way that somehow works. Since the difficulty is high, it does become a bit of a grind, which is probably necessary to pad out the hours and force you to really understand the mechanics. It has a good equipment system, allowing some pretty dynamic customization of your team which…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to love this game but I can't. It's just hard for the sake of being hard like a Dark souls mod. I've never played a "rougelite" were every single choice you make you lose health? Or increase the bad meter and makes the run harder. No way to fully heal so you have to run through a low level area try to avoid the 90% bad rolls and hit a camp and use potions to heal which are very low heal. later runs can take 20+ minutes but oops! right before the boss you hit a bad roll or your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dev added a final-battle achievement after release. I had 100%'d the achievements for this game and am now one achievement short - this matters because I did not enjoy the game enough to replay it. This change feels disrespectful to players who had already put in the time and effort to grind through this game and to farm all of the achievements. I wanted to like this game (dark Pokemon sounded promising). Instead, the game is filled with arbitrary systems and artificially inflates the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is great, don't be disheartened if you get wrecked on the last fight of a run, level your critters up and try again, and maybe watch out for unseen consequences (looking at you stupid alter) Play with various traits as some of them are worth having even if only for events
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would be the product of Darkest Dungeon and Pokemon having a baby. More difficult than any monster collector I've played, which is a good thing, but everything is laid out for you. By pressing CTRL you can view every single trait and status effect on the fly. All the abilities have their percentages and damage numbers laid out so you can make better decisions for what you want to do next. Highly recommend if you like Pokemon but think it's too easy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so far i can say i recommend. I took a chance since there was a sale. Play around with the steam deck controller layouts, and you will be fine. Manually bind the i key for your inventory. I do like the expedition mechanic a lot. Every path you take is unique which is dope. Also, the method of capturing entitys is not what i expected, but a welcome surprise. My only request for the devs is to add shiny entities :]
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great. Maybe not easy and a little hard to fully understand ,but great idea and potential. I'll love more content , but still , the dev need more love <3 Great work! GG
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent little game. The combat animations are a bit simple but the gameplay loops is solid and the mechanics are decently complex. It helps that the monster designs are A+. Worth the price
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oregon trail meets pokemon The game is balanced around the negative map events, people complaining and pearl clutching must be Nintendo fans or something. Seriously, imagine if one of the complainer reviewers had to play fear & hunger, they'd have a melt down. This game is very fun and I like it. I wish there were more creatures, maybe we will get DLC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very skeptical about the new update replacing the monster type system with traits, so much so that I removed my positive review until I tried out and fully understood the update. By now I can say that I can see the vision, I definitely think that this new trait system is a step forward giving the game more depth and that I can still wholeheartedly recommend the game to everybody who enjoys creature collectors. Before buying know that: The game requires you to do a bit of reading…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fetid pass picked up a backpack and wasn't able to "move onward" (button was pale and no reaction to mouse). Didn't loose to much progress but I hope its not a reoccurring theme. So I appear to be stuck on mission "Repel abyss offensive" there are no missions visible with rewards and they are all grayed out which I'm pretty sure means completed. Maybe add a "Go to current mission" button for situations like this?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got a few hours in it now and I can't say I've been bored for even a moment. It has it's ups and downs, like it's a little confusing at times and rough around the edges, the different icons of attack types and battle effects make me feel like I'm trying to figure out quantum physics and it's definitely not going easy on you, BUT the game was clearly made with a lot of love, any bugs that get reported get fixed SO quickly, the monsters and the overall vibe is really eerie and creepy (and I…
