55 of 55 · most liked firstAt first I wanted to give a negative review, because the quality of the game is honestly not that good. The story is just okay, no cutscenes - just static dialogues. There are some bugs, most of them can be resolved by restarting the game. I am really disappointed by the jankiness, I really expected better from WayForward, but I guess it's a licensed game, so fans like me will buy it no matter what. As for graphics, they are passable, but sadly there is no graphical settings whatsoever, not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Considering they made the fake game we invented for @realgdt.bsky.social’s #Trollhunters into an actual playable game, I think our show did pretty well for itself!
unlabelledView post →My family and I love the Trollhunters series and while this game may be aimed a bit more towards young children, it was an absolute blast to play! It is a little short; I took my time to gather everything, complete the achievements, play all the levels of Gnome tossing, Go-go Sushi, and the Luug coin hunt, and it only took me 13 hours. However, it was a very entertaining 13 hours :) The whole story line ties in with things from the show, there are plenty of references and jokes to all of Tales…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really unpolished graphics and clunky combat system. It might be fun for kids, but as a fan of the show above the age of its target audience I cannot recommend. It is not nearly as magical nor inventive as the show :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love tales of arcadia, and I was super stoked when the game was announced. I do have some criticisms- keeping in mind that it did just recently release, there isn't a whole heck of a lot of story, and the difficulty is minimal at best even with a hard mode. There's also a weird glitchI found- after unlocking the shield, if you're in trollmarket and you return to the game from steam overlay, you might get stuck holding your shield up unable to do anything or move Jim. That's really annoying,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't gotten very far into the gameplay, but I love it so far! Definitely a must-play if you're a fan of the Tales of Arcadia series, as it goes right along with the events of the series and has fully voiced cut scenes. My one complaint would be that the "tutorial" levels aren't very good at explaining how you do certain things, like sliding or high jumping. It simply informs you that you can do them, but leaves you to figure exactly how to do them on your own. Edit: It is pretty expensive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(THIS IS IMPORTANT! DO NOT... UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES... LET YOUR CO-OP BUDDY TOUCH THE PORGON!!! IF SHE TOUCHES HIM... The game locks. You can't continue. There is no cutscene and you better restart that level AND DON'T LET HER TOUCH HIM!!! Better yet, KICK YOUR friend in the game itself and THEN approach Porgon... Unless you want to keep re-doing the level over... And over... And over again.) Welllllll... This game is alright. It isn't overly hard... At all... It's almost...…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I purchased this game for my son as he loved the trollhunters series. This game is basically unfinished, using co-op and the shadow portal mechanic you can get into areas of the map you shouldn't. The game randomly freezes and exhibits other odd behaviours. For example after defeating "Porgon" in a battle, the next line of dialogue didn't trigger, meaning my son was just stuck in a room. We had to restart and reattempt the whole level many times before the dialogue triggered and he could move…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a roughly good game but the price tag is WAY too high! I know the price got lowered but its STILL too high! If the game price was 5.99 it would be worth it but it is not. Not recommended!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the 80 minutes playing this, I have encountered many bugs. Not enough to break the whole game and make it unplayable. Just enough to notice them. I am glad I found a cheaper way to get this game because playing this game for $30 is not worth it. If its on sale and the price justifies it enough for you, then I'd get it. If you aren't a kid trying to play this game I would recommend the hard difficulty, the normal difficulty is way too easy. TL;DR game is not worth retail price, wait for it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The early visual development on @RealGDT’s WIZARDS: TALES OF ARCADIA was hugely inspirational to us on what this series could be. The mix of modern and medieval, befitting immortal magic users who lived through it all, was a fun sandbox to play in. #trollhunters
unlabelledView post →Wow this game is really bad. Theres no thought put into it, just a fricking 40 dollar cashcrab. gets boring after ten minutes. I only got it cause of the show but this game just sucks. it really sucks. its just bad. theres no effort. dialougue also sucks. its also short, and it sucks.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't think this is a very good video game (or even a decent video game) unless you are perhaps at a certain age demographic and don't have anything else to compare this game to because your parents/guardian have you on parental controls and your account is restricted to listing games that are basically for kindergarteners. This game is very generic, perhaps one of the most generic I have ever had the opportunity of playing, and I've played a lot of video games here on Steam. It's just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun platformer that plays a lot like Aladdin on SNES.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly expect more from Wayforward. They've done such great things with games Shantae and Mighty Switch Force. They've even done great stuff with licensed 2D platfromers in the past like the GBA Spongebob games. I guess there is nothing inherently bad or broken with the game. Its just so incredibly average and repetitive. As a kids game it is probably better than a lot of other licensed games aimed at younger players but being a kids game doesn't have to mean cheap, easy, and shallow. There…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bland and borderline soulless game meant for people like me who really love Trollhunters, all for a bit of casual short fun

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok so its not really a good game, or its not what you would expect but you can have a fun time with it and if youre out of episodes to watch on the show you can at least have one adventure here, its given me a fun time so try it at least
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not the best game by any means but I'm loving it although I wish we could play as Troll Jim more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trollhunters: Defenders Of Arcadia: Showing four ways to misspell BASIC. Luckily, I am easy to please--hence the thumbs up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After finishing the series, I'll take any extra media I can get. A bit buggy in a few sections, but not too bad. I expected a lot worse, truthfully, so I was pleasantly suprised. And the art for their talking sprites were adorable, so I approve ^^ I hate the stupid gnome throwing minigame though. (Only cause I was bad at it, lmao)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia, developed by WayForward and published by Outright Games Ltd., is a side-scrolling action platformer that attempts to capture the spirit and charm of the Trollhunters animated series while delivering an approachable adventure aimed primarily at younger audiences. The game follows Jim Lake Jr. as he becomes entangled in a time-bending threat orchestrated by Porgon the Trickster Troll, a mischievous villain whose antics create a narrative excuse for hopping…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(swigs a beer) Ah They Did Make Trollhunters The Game Huh
unlabelledView post →"Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia" is another case of "Outright Games" pushing some material that's basically more licensed media property than it is actual game... that's what these guys do and this is no exception. This is yet another of literally thousands of console ported retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. There's a few minigames but the bulk of the gameplay is shallow, easy platforming and simplistic arcade/platformer…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like getting your balls torn off with barbed wires.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. You should watch Trollhunters before you play, and maybe 3 Below, but it mostly is based off the former, and probably won't spoil too much of the latter. It is set after Trollhunters, and before the Wizards follow-up series, though it incorporates some elements from that as well. As for gameplay, it is a side-scrolling platformer. You acquire new abilities as you go, and can purchase armor upgrades as well. There are also a couple of mini games (including Go-Go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple, not the greatest 2d game, but does the job for kids that are fans of the show for 3 hours of gameplay, recommended on a deep sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the best game, though as a Trollhunters fan i fairly enjoyed my time playing it. Definitely get it on sale though since its in my opinion not worth the full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Prime THQ could have made a killer Trollhunters video game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans (2/10) I’m surprised this doesn’t have the same level of infamy as the endings of stuff like Game of Thrones or Mass Effect 3
unlabelledView post →Its ok, but sth is missing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Haven't finished the game yet, but it's a simple yet very cute platformer, love the graphics! I am not very good at platformers and I am glad that this one is not very punishing for a million mistakes, also love the Trollhunters vibe, was a fan of the series. My only gripe would be wonky/glitchy controls and sometimes bugs, like a Gunmar fight didn't trigger after the scene and I had to hard quit and resume, or a platform wouldn't go back. Ah, another thing, it kinda lacks gameplay tips and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's so good??? And no one is playing it!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →because i really want to see oher player
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/SteX0RHK2dA Starting off with multiple sewer themed levels is not a high point of design and variety to bring new players into what is otherwise a dull platformer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you like side ways scrolling games, with jump timing being important... like mario brothers games, then this game is for you. I struggled in the first five or ten minutes with just trying to jump a tall truck. I was very frustrated, and finally figured it out before ending and deleting the game. and it is nice that it returns to the ledge you fall from instead of the beginning. yay! so, there's that, but no going up down, just left/right/slide/jump on the keyboard, so far as I've found so…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game but not like that much the series it was very actually real nice and I like it but the last movie it was very bad I mean not I mean bad. The end it was not expected but I like the title of Arcadia
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In my opinion the ending wasn't very good since all you do is reset the timeline and play again. I played it twice and the second run was no different from the first. The only good thing was that I could have Angor Rot on my team but he never showed up to the party thing, I cried. Story was too short, should be $10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't recommend to buy this game! Maybe if you're a hardcore Trollhunters fan and you can get it for max. $5? I bought this to play it with my 10y old daughter but we never found out how to get the 2nd player in the game :(. So my daughter started playing single player, but the gameplay was incredibly boring and repetitive. Animation was very simple. She also encountered game-breaking bugs (f.e. sliding through a small tunnel worked, but when she returned to the original spot…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a terrible game, but definitely not worth the price. Only took around three hours to finish.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy mess, it isn't even good. Seriously not worth it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the good original actors voices, cleaver use of the Trollhunters theme(weapons, items, mini games) , good too see your old pals again the bad gameplay is just ok, not enough story or dialogs , only playble as jim the ugly the Graphic is kinda meh still worth buy if you liked the Trollhunters and game on sale. the sum is greater than the parts
