33 of 33 · most liked firstThis is a game that I used to play when I was a child. I've managed to pass through all 21 levels only today and it felt great. The last part feels shorter and rushed out, you can tell the devs were running out of time. I've found a couple of sprite glitches that weren't present in the original disc, which I still own and checked. Still, this is a great piece. There's platforming, shooting, plenty of gore, unexpected elements but most of all smart puzzles. If you're not progressing it means…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hum... Niche. This is a side scroller/platformer of the old days. The graphics are still nice. The music is OK. The story is just an excuse to kill bugs. No bugs or crashes. Works fine on win 7. Overall, kinda fun to play for a little while. BUT... as usual with these old platformers, you can't save... and you will die and die again and again just to make your way again and again till you memorize the whole level. This is a very annoying aspect for anybody that is not driven by nostalgia or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old and buggy, not worth your time. And that's coming from someone who loves old-school games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For an old school game it's not bad, and a lot less clunky on the controls then i thought. This game was pretty well enjoyable to play. For the price also i can recomend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Straight up trash. Don't even bother with this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia and memories of some old good day
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For its Time, the graphics of the game looks gorgous, even by todays standards, but sadly I failed to finish even the first mission, after 25 minutes of not being able to get past a part, i decided to give up, I did the thunbs up thing bcz the game is probably awesome, i am just too stupid for it:)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was part of my childhood back in the 1990s. Ah, the good memories with my brother. Memories that will never return.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing this in the school library at lunchtime as a kid. Happy and suprised to find it on steam. It plays well and still looks great.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another classic game from my childhood.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Constantly presses down with either a gamepad or keyboard plugged into the PC. Literally unplayable. Weird.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alien Rampage is an ancient game from 1996. It's a whopping 27 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge. This was an old 2D side scrolling platformer shooter from 1996... and…

So far the options are: * Mega Man DOS * Day of the Tentacle * Master of Orion * Master of Orion 2 * Alien Rampage * The Blues Brothers * Tyrian * The Incredible Machine * Elder Scrolls: Redguard * Pinball Dreams * Nethack * Below the Root

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very generic and uninteresting side scroller. Plays mediocre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Retro Styled game, those who wanna experience old again you should try it. its enjoyable
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alien Rampage is a product of the golden era of PC action games, delivering a straightforward but highly entertaining run-and-gun experience that embraces fast-paced combat and old-school challenge. Developed by Inner Circle Creations and published on Steam by Piko Interactive LLC and Bleem!, the game transports players into a hostile science-fiction world where survival depends on quick reflexes, powerful weapons, and a willingness to blast through countless enemies. Rather than focusing on a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no idea i just thought it was funny lol if you want an actual recommendation, i really like the DOS port of turrican 2. It runs a bit too fast because its a 50fps game arbitrarily increased to 60fps, but it looks gorgeous. Tyrian and Alien Rampage are great DOS games as well
unlabelledView post →The best thing about this game are the graphics, the originality of the enemies and the levels. Controls are also quite good in my opinion, space for jumping and shift for shooting is fine, movement is by default on arrows, which you have to get used to. The biggest disadvantages of the game are the absence of soundtrack, the lack of clarity of some objects (such as vines, platforms) and unbalanced difficulty levels. The fact that the game doesn't have music isn't that big of a deal, along with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly good. Got it out of Duke Nukem curiosity. If you don't know the history Duke Forever was first a side scroller before they decided to go FPS and sold their work to another company, eventually ending up in Alien Rampage. Has some flaws but the same stuff you see in most action platformers on computers back then. It's best aspect is it's personality. Graphics are great, goes for a style and it all came together. Smooth animations, nice detailed sprites and backgrounds, only issue is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun Factor: Medium fun, medium difficulty, would recommend if it’s on sale. Graphics: The character sprites, levels, and gore are all pretty sick looking and one of the game’s biggest selling points in my opinion. I would recommend turning up the gamma levels in the options menu to make the colors pop a bit more, the game will still look “dark and gritty” so don’t worry. Music: There is no music lmao, and to quote every single video game reviewer in modern times “AND THAT’S A GOOD THING!”…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alien Rampage is it ♥♥♥♥♥? Quick answer: YES. It's a bad old retro game, that sadly, can't make impressions. Sorry, but just there's better than this and 5$ is too much. 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Sidescroll Shooter Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: DOS-Era Contra style. Limited vield of vision. Camera does not follow while jumping causing delays and disorientation. No music. No Xbox360 pad support. The sprites are fairly authentic and nice looking. The FX for the sounds is not grating at all. The guts and gore animations were a nice touch. The world is filled with stuff to shoot at and represent an acceptable challenge. The lack of Xbox360 pad…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this a lot in my childhood with my dad. Fun game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels more like Predator Rampage, but fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well made and challenging scroller - like it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I won this from a giveaway and whilst i like the game i can't get far even with cheats. This is harder then i ever expected it to be even with cheats. I guess you need to take it slow but i want to be fast and i end up messing that way. I have tried on 3 or 4 occasions to beat this with cheats and i never got past the first episode Don't want to drive myself mad to beat this when i clearly am not able to even with cheats. Maybe one day i end up sitting down and go through it piece by piece…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great run and gun shooter for a great price, just wish there were more options to rebind the keys
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/-iC9_g6-Fa0 Age is the biggest contributing factor to the quality of this game and explains the poor camera, controls, and level design. There is little to offer players who are not nostalgic for the title.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As far as run and gun side scrollers go, this is another one. Not much to talk about, there are better ones but for a DOSBox game it's not worth $5.
