60 of 103 · most liked firstIf you are looking for a challenging and realistic strategy game then I recommend TOW 3: Korea. If however your more into simplistic and fast paced RTS then this may not be the game for you. What the developers aimed to bring to the public is a well made realistic strategy game which is able to reflect warfare in the mid 20th century. This game enables players to not only fight in a battlefield conflict but also micromanage your army layout as you lead either american or north korean forces…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game so much. There are just too many faults with it and after experiencing the game crash for no reason on my 3rd mission in the campaign, I'm definitely sure this game is bad. For starters lets talk about the actual battle experience. There is nothing more pleasing to me than slugging it out over range with tanks/fixed guns. So satisfying watching the shells streak across the map. What is NOT pleasing is when a tank of mine decides its going to go it alone and run…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very skeptical about this game at first, especially when I saw the review and metascore (yikes). It was a game I kept my eye on simply for the fact that it was based in the Korean War, a war that we havn't seen in a game before (but if there is a game that is based in the Korean War that anyone knows of then please, tell me, I would love to get my hands on it). ToW3 has some problems in it, and some things I wish it had, but for the most part, it isn't that bad of a game. First with cons.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually i'm sorry to give a negative review to this game. First of all, it's probably the only one set in that specifical conflict (Korean war). Second, the tactical part (the actual game where you move your troops, give them order etc) is in my opinion well made and realistic (and with good graphics). The strategic campaign map is also nice, fast-paced with few things to do to concetrate on combat phase (even if i'd would prefer at least one campaign based on historical battles). But, on the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would be better if there were no artillery. The ai uses artillery unfairly as it is able to attack my units even when they are in my spawn and in cover while I can not. My troops get slaughtered so quickly that by the time I reach them im at 1/2 strength. If I could choose what was sent to battle then I would definatly play this more often. Another issue is the battles themselfs, the battle is extremly simple and extremly quick. The battles are a matter of (move here or hold here to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As with other people's reviews, I'd love to love this game, but when I click to tell my units to do something and they both don't do it, and I don't get any feedback why, and the selection resets... ok? The idea and graphics are fantastic. The interface and everything about the gameplay is TERRIBLE. Sad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This message on 1C forum describes the game as it is ... A splendid idea gone down the toilet: The strategic system in Tow 3 Korea boils down to choose where to attack. I've played 10 turns out of 30 (it seems) and fought over 20 battles, but never could I decide to order more troop, new material o reinforcemente. You have to stuck with what you're given in the beginning, three corps, each one with vehicles and reserves fixed. Even the additional support is kind of a joke: you can choose two…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun game set during the Korean war of the 1950's. Air support, Mortars, Tanks you name it. Pathfinding can be a little icky but otherwise a great addition to the Theater of War Series. Ive provided some gameplay, don't hesitate to take a peek. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l98d2rVdh4
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unless you are realy in to your strategy games and i mean REALLY dont buy this you will get very bored very fast (dose look very nice tho)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think people really misunderstand this game. It's slow paced ( which I like ) and is very different to other strategy games. To me it feels far more like a realistic battle. Yeah sure it's got bugs and I can understand how someone who loves Starcraft would get easily frustrated with the type of gameplay. Give it a go, it might just become one of your favourite games. BTW, I played before I got it on Steam, I've played many more hours than my account indicates.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't get all the bad reviews. Its a Theatre of War, if you know what I mean. It has it's issues (unit control and some pathfinding), but if you get the time to learn the way to get things done, it's a realistic, SLOW paced, good looking RTS. I didn't have to learn because is almost exactly the same as in the previous ones, so if you have played them, you know what to expect. The campaign it's with a simple "grand strategy map" in which you move fast your troops with little hassle, to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AI pathfinding is trash. But as expected from 1C, they publish very low polish low budget VERY high detail games made with love and this is one of them. Formations for a RTS about warsim could be better, but the level of detail goes as far as individual bodypart damage for the infantry, and individual armor parts getting damaged. Whereas the maps are smaller than, say, wargame, and you REALLY wish you could get bigger maps sometimes, or the ability to run logistics and repair vehicles (you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Theatre of War games are fundamentally good games that suffer from one MAJOR (possibly even a four star general) problem. Onboard artillery (the stuff you choose when outfitting your army) is COMPLETELY useless because it can only fire if it has line of sight. Doesn't matter what type of arty, mortars, howitzers, et hoc genus omne-if the unit can't see the target it can't fire at it. So why are they even in the game? There is offboard arty and airstrikes, but these must be purchased in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful, just awful. It is so poorly designed and executed that it is simply unplayable. I like slow RTS games but this was glacial... It is a really grand disappointment given that it is one of the few games set in during the Korean War where rapid deployment and massive artillery barrages were the norm. I really wish I could get a refund for this terrible game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played every 1C Company RTS to date, this is awful, units do as they wish, Dead ground does not exist, Flanking the enemy does not exist, Enemys dissapear as soon as you see them, cover does not work, You order your troops to a specific position and they just go for a wander in the opposit direction, there is no strategy involved what so ever, I have every game in the Theatre of war franchise they are all crap, the first one is a crash to desk top simulator whilst also making you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Units do what they want... Is it a strategy or a movie about AI stupidity? Don't buy even on sale. Does not worth any time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it just lags and dosen't work well the editor is broken. I regret my purchase i bet it can be better they didn't put any work it can be better you were just lazy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How can someone make a game about the Korean War and not include the South Koreans, Chinese or Commonwealth? It'd be like leaving the USA out of a game about the Second World War. Oh, wait, they did that already.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good war simulator. (rts portion balanced with supplies and support and reserves.) Very harsh on cpu specs. not optimized at all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →purchased this game and another in 2017 and still haven't been able to play both so your games suck and you should be ashamed of yourself for selling bogus games that don't work! you should be charged with theft of services and fraud
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Theater of War (and it's cousin Combat Mission [not available on steam, goto battlefront.com]) is to strategy what the Arma series is to first person shooters While in terms of strategy game I prefer, and highly recommend, the Combat Mission series, over Theater of War, this game does have its merrits. First and foremost, unless you can handle micromanagment of units engaged across, at times, a wide front, do not get this game as it, simply put, is not for you. However, if you enjoy that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Idea was Great but it just was not good enought sorry.....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →looks great, possibly great potential. plays poorly with no instuction. From the start, cannot get vehicles to hook up artillery, manual does not cover this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full of bugs Do not buy Stay away If you already bought : get a refund if your too late for refund : slowly crawl in a corner and wait for death. Okay, so some people say that this game is good, its just that its realistic, and people who bash this games just dont know. Well listen, the game just started, you have your soldiers and you want them in the trench. You tell your soldiers to go in the trench. What do they do ? They stand and do nothing, or sometime they will run in an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game sucks ass. When I first saw it on youtube, I thought I would love this game. After I bought it, I immediately regretted it. This game sucks complete ass. I absolutely hate this game because (1) the control and interface is way too complicated for no reason, (2) controlling your army has never been more irritating, (3) the "campaign" is nothing more than a map of Korea with cards that symbolize your army floating on top of provinces, (4) the units are unresponsive, (5) the multiplayer…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad UI. Bad Graphics. Bad Animation. No fun. Would not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those heartbreaking games where you really, really want to like it. I'm glad that I only paid a fraction of its cost, though. That is to say, I paid a fraction for the bundle, and all of them seem to have just one flaw that wrecks the game - and TW3 is merely the least annoying. The first one was a nice proof of concept: military simulator without any of this 'ballancing' garbage. A Sherman is inferior to a Tiger, period. But its age makes it clunky and somewhat dull. TW2…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it boring and not good design
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont get it!!! Curser is Misplaced for steam verison! Also if yo get it from 1C company pack (thats what I did) The mouse is misplaced 1 Inch down. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best RTS on the market, for this I was looking for all my gaming life :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loads then freezes. Total ♥♥♥♥. Wasted money. This company as well as Paradox go on my blacklist.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you love watching tanks slowly turn in place like depressed Roombas, this is your masterpiece.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Considering the cheap price, it's hard to downvote it and it's the best of the (limited) number of Korean War games that are out there. That said it's clearly half finished and the somewhat designed campaigns of the past games are ditched for a Total War style map campaign where you fight essentially MP bot matches over and over with a campaign map progression system. It's also decently more buggy and prone to crashing so save often. Still, it's a shame they never made another game after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great in-depth Strategy game. Just a hassle to run on a modern machine. A great game especially given it's age. I like the large maps and the ability to fight at long range which is realistic. When you zoom in the detail is very good.It is one of those games that you have to read the manual before you play, but it is very rewarding once you understand the mechanics as it has a moral system as well as realistic line of sight and armor penetration. Overall, ToW games shine in armor combat. Each…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Improved controls regarding the original Theatre of War and units much more responsive to orders. Cons: There are only a few maps, so you will feel that you are fighting in the same place again and again, making the campaign tedious and repetitive. Additionally It feels poorly optimized. After the first campaign you will feel too bored to try the other campaign.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1c company is bad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not even worth a review its lucky i wrote this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS: realistic tactics critical thinking morters feel great to use units are not unrealistically strong units dont take unrealistic damage awesome campaign maps KOREAN WAR! CONS: lacking in varity of units sound effects meh.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to put my mouse 3 inches below the actuall button to click making it impossible for me to actually play the ♥♥♥♥. Dont do it. DO NOT DO IT!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ITS ♥♥♥♥♥♥ DONT BUY EASY TO WIN A MATCH AND AI IS RETARDED WASTE OF MONEY
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good Strategy game (a good time spender)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →notworth a cent dont get
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it, Honestly this is a really good game. Its a shame this series is abandoned.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game to play, AI is stupid as hell tho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's cool when you get the hang of it. But it does freeze, Why i dont know. I have more than Enough, PC power to handle this game. Other than that i like it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As many others have said: I wanted to enjoy this game. It should be right in my wheel house, but the controls, unit behavior and pathing are frankly abysmal. If you just look at screenshots you'd probably think this is more or less in the vein of a Men of War game but no. It just doesn't work or else it requires the kind of fastidious micro-managing that makes it more of a chore than a game. As the only Korean war strategy game I know of I wish I could recommend it, but I just can't at any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so bad nothing good in this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has really jerky controls and bad gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and few maps. Dont buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most retarded AI in any game I have ever played seriously. I lost 2 pershings in a long distance fight to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ T-34-85.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whoever programmed the AI should be taken out in the back yard and shot like old yeller.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable game, very poor tutorial, but after watching a couple youtube videos i caught on. The campaign is nice, although limiting with how few tiles you can move your units around, but the battle phase is very nice, and feels realistic. Also a bonus that it's a game about a war that is almsot forgotten about.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completed a mission without doing anything 10/10 Seriously though, I paid less than $5 for this and I still feel ripped off. Absolutely NO fun whatsoever, I can't believe this game is so bad. And even without bugs and glitches, It would be absolutely no fun anyway. Devs spent more time writing the ingame "Weaponpedia" than they did designing the actual game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of The greatest strategy games of all time from the series that invented games 1c
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/B81MhhaWGRg
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I saw this only had a 'mixed' review status I decided it is my duty (yes I truly hate this game so much I consider it my duty) to warn you for TOW3 Korea. Avoid at all costs, pathfinding is broken, severe issues like crash to desktops, balancing issues, ridiculous voice acting, I could go on... The setting has great potential because this hasn't really been done before (at least to my knowledge), but yet another good idea squandered by extremely sloppy execution by 1C.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ehh ill reccommend it because i enjoyed it for a while. but the maps are repititive and you cant freely choose how many and of which units you want on the battlefield. cool concept though but gets old fast. deffinitely a game to buy when its on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its very hard to fight battles and its to small of a map with weird cammera angles
