Any game where you can get into a loop of getting killed, healed, then to be killed again in the same turn, has some serious balance issues. I tend to like randomness, but this game is just completely broken. Do not waste your time.

I like that while there is an element of competition with the victory points, you're ultimately working together with the other players/characters against monsters and NPCs. Also, once I figured out how to use development cards, Triss and Dandelion didn't suck at combat anymore! But seriously, why not Zoltan?

Once you get the hang of it (only takes a couple of games to get it down) than it can be loads of fun. I love the fact that you can play by yourself against the AI. Unlike some AIs, these seem to be quite realistic and don't seem to make bonehead moves. So it doesn't make it incredibly easy to win.

I find it very annoying that the sound / video settings can't be adjusted while I'm playing the game. There's not really difficulty selection or anything, so if you don't have anyone to play with you should probably not get this game. It also doesn't help that same characters, same deck, same board. It's perfect for an evening after a long day of work. You can easily waste several hours with it. But where can I save a game? Can I save a game? I wanted to spread out a two-player game over two evenings, but apparently that's not an option? And now it crashed and we had to start over! The game is not even remotely balanced and you can determine the winner in the first 3 turns. I could see potential for a 4 player game to be decently balanced, but all it takes is one bad turn early game and you'll never be able to catch up.
