Despite being very buggy, it's definitely worth it. the only reason I'm not recommending this is because you should buy "The Guild II Renaissance" instead. it is literally everything this game is and more, plus it is much more updated and thus, less buggy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As The Guild II this game contains all that it's predecessor had, with a couple of new additions. The expansion is worth taking if you buy the entire collection because the only new features are but few a professions and a campaign with a story consisting of 4 missions. As always The Guild is buggy and there will be glitches and odd graphical artifacts from time to time. If your only desire is to get a working Guild game in singleplayer and multiplayer as well then I can direct you to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game with a fantastic concept that was very poorly executed, full of bugs and extremely difficult. The game remains largely unpatched since release for most of the inherent problems. This is a family dynasty simulator in which you economically grow your family via businesses and diplomatic relations within your townships. You can take office in local parliament, ultimately running the town (this is extremely, extremely difficult to even get close to this). You run business' of various…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Skip this one. Go right to Renaissance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you like firebombs? Do you like political assassinations? Do you like artificially increasing the price of grain so that your inn has the only affordable food in town? If you said yes to any of these questions, buy it now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy. Many of the included maps have game breaking pathing bugs. I found this game to be LITERALLY unplayable. You're supposed to be building a dynasty that will stand for generations, but within a couple of years the entire city's populace will have clipped through a church wall and become stuck. This bug has gone unpatched for years. Avoid this one like the plague.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game! A lot of depth next to endless play hours. I agree with the negative reviews in saying it has a lot of bugs, because it can at times, but, we're all gamers here so if ANYTHING bugs should be as normal to us as breathing. With that said, I would highly recommend this game, in the end its your choice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pirates of the European Seas is a stand-alone expansion pack for The Guild 2 that focuses mostly on piracy, naval trade and combat creating many more options for those that does not want prestige but notoriety. The expansion adds a lot in terms of dependency between cities and this helps, in some degree, to alleviate the problems the AI have with maintaining production chains by letting the player sail around with ships trading between cities much easier and quicker than before. The piracy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome extension of the Original game. Lots of new opportunities to get wealth, and actually a campaign which is quite educational. I've enjoyed countless hours with this game and still am.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fall for the fantasy, and you'll sink. To survive, you have to watch the bottom line.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buy Renaissance, that is worth every cent. With Fajeth's mod. Includes everything here and many more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AS A BIG NOTE TO ANYONE INTRESTED IN A MAP PACK FOR THE GUILD II: This expantion is included in The Guild II Renaissance. The expantion for the game is great, just don't get it here, get the guild renaissance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overwhelmingly "meh". it's pretty fun and a decent timewaster, but it's just so lackluster. It's not adventure and action, but building a business from the ground up in this time period and slowly managing it is pretty fun. It's an alright game and worth it if it's on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are going to get a guild game, get this one and skip the others, they are basically the same game but this one has an interesting campaign and refined gameplay experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun, play different people... do different jobs and can make your way up the government
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't be fooled into questioning yourself, this game is unique and tons of fun. A gem for sure and I guarantee you played nothing like it. Can't wait for Guild3, thanks for making these games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're going to go for an enhanced version of The Guild II, may as well go for Renaissance instead of half-assing it with PotES.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you read my "The Guild 2 Review", there is not much to add. This is a stand alone expansion that basicly only adds seafaring jobs and does not correct the problems of the first instalment. "I bought this game thinking: "I like RTS and micromanagement games, this one has a non-combat focus, let's try it". All that I can say is: what a waste. -Way to bugged (specially the micromanagment part); -Limited options (you do not have much things like buildings, production, etc. to choose from); -It…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and entertaining. This is a terific management type game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I gave the game a chance. I very much had hope that it would turn out to be an enjoyable distraction. Paid 19.99 for the 3 game bundle version and I could cry over my stupidity. The game is kind of like a cheap version of the Sims Medieval meets age of empires. The tutorial was torment that I survived only to still be lost. The business buildings you can buy have an option that allows the computer to control them for the player. Which I assumed meant controlling any employees and assigning them…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favourite classic games from back in the day. So happy to see it on Steam with all the content available. I still have the original CDs of these games, along with their manuals. Which I hold on to and it brings back nostalgia. The things I really love about the GUILD II is the production chains and management. All the various shops and raw material harvesting buildings. The character classes are also interesting as well. The Craftsman and Patron classes are my favourite. I enjoy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as good as the other The Guild 2 games. Lacks anything that makes it noticeably different. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first expansion for "The Guild II", this one finally has a campaign. Still just as confusing as the original, the "Tips" tell you stupid things that doesn't help you. Still doesn't make any sense... :( 2/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun to play, but unfortunately crashes sometimes when trying to save on my system
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I spent hours upon hours trying to get my main character, Sir Loin Steak, to the top of the political ladder. He was almost Mayor, but after not being elected time after time I finally decided to just kill the current mayor so I could take his office. I do this, Sir Loin gets elected, and then about 5 minutes later he dies from old age. Karma's a ♥♥♥♥♥ I guess.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so one time i met this guy when iw as going to the meat markert and i saw a day laborer so i seduced his wife and stole his rightful land then i honormurdered him to maintain my respectability in the community which helped me meet the judge who i murdered secretly and then had a kid i was a hanging judge too and then i killed people for fun but then eventually became duke of the lands with my 4th wife and her 2nd son a day in the guild two life
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wonderful Sim and RPG. The blend of what and RTS an RPG and The Sims wouldlook like in a living simulated medieval Europe. This will keep you occupied for a LONG time.:) There is a gigantic world of opportunities and ways to play. Something which is quiet daunting for new players as it can be overwhelming to just start in any particular class or job. Also, the game is difficult. Very difficult at times. When a rivalling family has it out for you and you happen to be unprepared there is are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not work on Windows 10 ! Don´t waste your time and money!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, great game!! You must play this game You will not regret it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let the .1 hours fool you... I played alot of time with Guild 2 and Ren. The reason it is .1, is because there is a massive bug the devs refused to fix.... you can't repair your ships.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would skip this one and get Renaissance instead! Too many bugs just on the one that just takes away from the game and just waste your time building your empire.. After doing researched everyone suffers this issue even the gog owners. The biggiest glitch i got were the people (populace) were going through walls and getting stuck
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game for my GF. tried it my self was so confused first time playing any guild games.. dumped my gf for being smarter than me. 10/10 love to see random gangbangs at town in first 2 mins
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably quite good... If it worked
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have recommended this game yes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a semi-detached expansion pack for The Guild II, an entry in the "The Guild" franchise of city/environment/society simulators. It's like The Sims but with a town sized scale and roughly accurate historical theme. Manage your career and personal life, build a family legacy, and watch the open world/sandpit medieval town simulation live and thrive around you. The expansion features a larger playing area and piracy theme, but otherwise does little to differentiate from the core game,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game its fun having a sea
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty slow going, not exactly the most user friendly
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unplayable.... its a great game but once u get so far in, your carts keep disappearing and you have too shut game off and restart. and u gotta restart every 10-20 mins but i would love game if it wasnt for this problem...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man I miss those days of playing games like these!. The Guild II - Pirates of the European Seas is essentially Guild 2 but with a bit more improvements applied over it which make it feel a bit fresh. The game is actually pretty good (not the best out there) but certainly among the better of the titles that attempted to emulate this genre!. There a some certain hilarious bugs (mostly not game breaking though) but hey, it's the Guild 2, those things are what make the game much more fun!. Highly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game!!! so much fun..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only worth it for the story mode otherwise renaissance exists. I still liked it so eh thumbs up why not
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MILK drunk in a topless effort
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Always had lots of potential for a real amazing game. Ended up everytime in a rancid pile of bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you get in a sale, then it's a very nice addition to your game library. But in my opinion it's not worth the 10 euros.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the best game ever some what bugy but great game recommend it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but a bad expansion. I still form time to time enjoy playing The guild and murdering all the other families :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is nothing more you need to say. If you like the main game, you gonna like this dlc too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Guild II is a unqiue strategy/life simulation game set in the medieval era. It brings many great mechanics from strategy games and life simulation games (such as the sims). It will take some time to learn, but once you have the game down it is very in depth. Worth a try if this is your style of game! Watch the video below of the tutorial to get an understanding of the game style and dynamics. Note: Get Renaissance, it includes everything from the previous two releases.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Guild 2 is very different to the first The Guild, which sadly isn't a good thing in this particular case. While graphics and gameplay were massively overhauled, neither proves to have been done well. Instead of being a bonafide medieval dynasty simulator, the Guild 2 becomes more of an "economically micromanaged strategy adventure RPG". And as awesome as that might sound, it sadly is not. This particular expansion only gives a few more buildings and 4 new maps to play on. Just by itsef,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is utterly fantastic. I have not experienced many of the bugs that others on here report, and have found the game to be very stable. The general difficulty is absurdly easy, I have never had under 100k after about 45 minutes of gameplay, and generally enjoy it when I can control the government with a family member in literally every position. If anyone causes trouble for you, start a trial and then just vote guilty (and since you control the government you have a family member in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually like never played this game. I just was AFK on the Main Menu for like a couple of minutes. Since it being another exact copy of Guild II, I am guessing the game is terrible. Dont buy this game. Trust me, I only played for 0.6 hours. You can totally trust me. Also, the reason I bought this game was because there is a hot chick on the cover. Money Taker 2014
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it. I have played it so much! 0.1 hours is a testimony to it's greatness.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and very addicting!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to play this game thinking that I enjoy very complex games of this type but it's all far too confusing and not worth th trouble.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damnit! I love this game. Well i played a lot of The Guild (first game), and wanted to try out all the new stuff in this game. But it keeps crashing and it's as buggy as always. Shame really, they have a great idea and atmosphere, but the game just stinks with all the bugs. Gonna uninstall or loose my mind. QQ
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playtime only for the story mode, otherwise just Renaissance which is the same better but better with new additions
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so many great ideas, but in it's current state it has some serious problems. This is a game that I want to love and I want to play, but after losing an hour here and an hour there due to save issues and crashes, it grows tiresome. There is little to no explanation for many game features and I shouldn't really need to go to the internet to find out everything about a game if the game has a sufficiently explained mechanism or feature. I forgive it for being an older game and I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best idea ever, worst implementation ever....More stable on newer systems than it was at launch.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Guild II – Pirates of the European Seas is an ambitious standalone expansion that takes the already dense life-simulation and strategy framework of The Guild II and pushes it outward onto the open waters of Renaissance Europe. Developed by 4HEAD Studios and published by THQ Nordic, the game expands the familiar formula of dynasty management, economic competition, and political maneuvering by introducing naval trade, piracy, and maritime warfare. Rather than reinventing the core experience,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →classic game, city/family sim with politics and economy. played all the series for over a decade and im pleased the guild 3 is out, highly recommend this game.
