While I generally don’t mind and even like short games, this one just fell a little short of expectations while also doing enough missteps to cause me to decide not to recommend it. If there was an option to give a sideways “maybe” option I’d go with that. I did have fun with it but by the end I was just happy to be done with it and wasn’t really looking forward to more without anything new to spice up some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good action roguelite with impressive pixel art. A lot of people might get this thinking it is similar to Wizard of Legend, because of the looks of it, but be careful because gameplay is quite different, so you might get disappointed if those are your expectations. The game starts like a Cult of the Lamb type of roguelite (talking about level de sign, not management), in the sense that your runs are about 15 minutes long and they just cover 1 small area. Then you go to the "camp" where…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →StormEdge is a very primitive and easy game, which makes it quite boring.. It is an indie game made by Taiwanese developers, respect, for that at least. I tried out the Demo before the full release and this promising game showed potential. It was very easy and bare, but that is to be expected from the Prologue chapter. Never would I have thought that it was all this game had to offer! The release version is practically the same!! The pixel art is very beautiful, that is what gained my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If StormEdge were just launching into Early Access, I'd be quite excited for the 1.0 release. Unfortunately, this IS the 1.0 release, and it feels really underbaked in a lot of ways. Credit where credit is due first: the core combat is quite fun. I really like the idea of having a combo system for consecutive successful dodges; rewarding skillful timing with extra damage and effects is both interesting and fun. It also ties in well with the game's emphasis on speed, due to Dead Cells-style…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game would be fine (short but acceptable), but sadly there are major bugs on endgame abilities that are not being adressed - the dev doesn't seems to bother about what's happening with the state of the game. So i cannot in good faith recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A noble attempt but doesn't have everything it takes to cross the finish line Simple and straight forward; both in good ways and bad. Combat feel is fluid and precise; but isn't particularly satisfying. Encounters often boil down to a ton of timed dodge spam; often negating the importance of proper positioning. The basic attack combo can vary effect as you chain 4, which I thought was fine. Having some skills reliant on a perfect dodge to activate I did not care for (especially when you pair…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game isn't terrible but I can't recommend it as it gets repetitive pretty quickly. The build options don't mix up the gameplay very much. There are different characters but once you've played them a few times they don't individually have very interesting gameplay mechanics to keep you hooked. The enemies aren't that much of a challenge and don't vary much. It's a game that starts interesting but quickly tails off due to lack of depth which is a shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Art is good. Story is bad. Gameplay is bad and lacks any type of thought to it, who the hell makes a system where you finish breaking the boss armor to deal damage and then puts more armor on that boss so you can't damage it???? Don't lose your money in this game, wish I could refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very repetitive. same fights. short game loop. little content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know, but this game is too "pixelated" in my opinion. I can't see the character's movements, enemies' attacks or their spells. There are too many different triggers on the screen that you constantly have to dodge, which I don't like. I generally don't like games where 90% of the time you're just dodging everything you can. Maybe that's a personal problem of mine.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →StormEdge is a fun action RPG roguelike that will put your dodging skills to the test, you will need to time your dodges carefully against the enemy attacks. The combo & focus systems are very a nice add which I liked in the game, you will need to create combo attacks in order to break enemy different style shields The boss battles were nice and fun to go against, as well as the stages and the boss fights music were superb. The game has solid controls and fluidity movement once you get used…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its like wizard of legend with no content and not fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game takes a slightly different concept than what we're used to in roguelikes: here, dashing isn't just a way to evade danger, but a way to attack enemies. It's quite easy and satisfying to do so, too, as the enemies glow a really bright red once they're about to attack, and the window is relatively generous. The game is quite pretty too, in its pixel art style. A touch beneath Children of Morta in this aspect, but it's mechanically a lot better. The game kinda falls flat in its structure,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's worth getting in a bundle or good sale, I feel bad for the mixed reviews, it does have some problems but there have been far worse games that have gotten better reviews than this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The art is nice, the combat is engaging enough. However, the story is filled with more questions and there's not enough to latch onto to care about it. It feels like it was rushed or there's supposed to be more. If you're coming from games like BlazBlue:EntropyEffect, Skul, or Astral Ascent, you will find NO challenge here. The repetition will be tedious and once you find your character and playstyle you will not deviate from it. Thing is, you find it in 30 minutes or less depending on your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As others have said this one is a bit of a bust. The visuals are an inoffensive pixelated , and theres 4 different fighters. Thats about all the positives. All the levels are just these small corridors/rooms with traps everywhere and you fight the same enemies each run and the same bosses. The 4 fights have different attacks, but all the game is is just holding down attack. The combat is weird, as you have a combo with 4 different abilities that auto trigger as you attack, and then a single…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this in a fanatical bundle, and holy wow I'm glad I picked it up. It really makes you learn how to dodge to do more attacks and essentially survive. Gameplay gets a bit repetitive, but hey, I don't mind that. I need a bit of calm when I'm baked off my ass and want to light skeletons with fire.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →StormEdge, then. A rogue-lite where you do the same attack over and over until the game ends or you do, whichever comes first, and honestly by the end I wasn't fussed which. Here's the thing. I like short games. Life's short, games should be too, get in, have a laugh, get out. But there's short-and-lovely and there's short-and-please-stop, and StormEdge kept wandering back and forth over that line like a man who's forgotten where he parked. I had fun. I'll say that clearly because I'm about to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jerky animation gets boring quickly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the pixelated graphics of the game and all the magical spells, but I personally really suck at this sort of fast games and it was hard for me not to get killed... Thanks to devs for the Assist mode though, it made things much easier for me! gonna continue later and maybe update this review, I'm curious about other characters and the story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wizard of Legend but worst - !less builds to play! - !!less enemies and indicators to see then they want to attack!! - !!!less settings to change inputs!!! Yeah game not terrible but feels bad in compare P.S. Not bad for first time hope you will improve and make this game more better, maybe updates and your hard work will make me change my mind about the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for one hour and really liked the game! its a innovative rogue like that is very well polished, fun build system and very beautifull art, the only problem that i felt is that the combat mechanics was a bit shallow, but in general its been a fun experience, 7.5/10, might change the more i play!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: -Simple with enough variety to keep you engaged. -Got a solid 15 hours game play over 2 days with a friend. -Final boss was a fun challenge. -Satisfies that retro-style game itch Cons: -Might just be me but the dialog seemed excessive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting action-roguelike with a special focus on precision and skills. Good boss fights and soundtrack, beatiful pixel art and unique cooldown-free combat system
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Impossible to beat all achievements. The last achievement is to beat the game on Master Mode, and if you die a few times you restart the whole game. Not to mention the last boss, Gloria, which alone will destroy your run at the end if you haven't died from other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ already. The idiots behind the game made sure that if you haven't ruined your run so far, the boss will obliterate you, including all the glitches such as your special attack doing nothing, or simply not mentioning that your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun experience albeit there's quite a lot going on and the pixelated artstyle sometimes makes it kinda hard to see some projectiles and enemies movement. Regardless gameplay is exciting and engaging. Story is short and limited but I wasn't expecting any story at all so it's a plus. Movement is fluid and attacks are interesting, unique and wheighty! So far I've had a good time and for the price I think it's worth the buy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too boring and reliant on iffy dodging. Needs to be more fluid and fum
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Checking out StormEdge was a lot of fun. I definitely found myself saying "Okay, just one more run." a couple of times and I've always enjoyed games like that. It feels less like game over and more like, try again and try again with a different character or mechanic. Great fun! Really enjoyed the music and while i would need to play a lot more to learn everything, I found picking it up and playing really easy to do, which is appreciated. My only comment is the text. I think the devs could get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loving the graphics and the flow!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice game! I liked it a lot — time went by so fast. The graphics are cool, and the music is nice and not distracting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like the artstyle and fight mechanic related to perfect dodging in here. check out if you into roguelites and challenging combat
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im sorry but i really hate the combat in this its just not good. and feels vary lame. its like wizard of legend but instead of the combat is ♥♥♥♥. its a button masher if you could choose what moves you throw out instead of bashing a button to go threw your moves 1 at a time in a set order like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ preset combo. it would be kinda good cause thats what makes most fighting games fun being able to throw out and make your own combos.. but this is just not that its got great art and sprites but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great co op rogue lite. Been playing it a ton with my partner, we can't get enough. Hoping for more content to keep it going!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dynamics of the game is very fast and keeps you constantly in suspense, which I like. If you want to just calmly pass the stages, then you are unlikely to succeed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cant get player 2 to be able to use anything other than a keyboard. So game is trash unless you can fix that. Controller assigns fo player one and there is no way to assign a controller for player two.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoyed wizard of legend this one is for you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short game, big emphasis on dodging. Ok game, 6/10.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-nice pixel graphics. -very dynamic battles even at the very beginning. -good soundtrack. -When you lose, it doesn't force you to replay the entire level. - and the most important plus is, of course, timely help to a friend. the main character simply waited 20 years and came to the rescue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs a bit more TLC imho. - The text certanly needs a look over - The UI feedback could use some love The demo honestly felt better
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me preface this by saying I was one of the streamers they reached out to too stream it early which I did its a incredibly fun game all the controls felt very smooth. I will say this the music is amazing especially that intro theme it gave me chills listening to it while setting up for stream, The hit indicators are a little wonky for some characters/enemies and there is maybe like a couple minor things in the grammar area for the story but that isn't a major issue. Now then people are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Potentially cool mechanics, insanely repititive with no payoff.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately I find this game repetitive and boring. And it stutters on 5080M
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply amazing! I love the graphics and art that went into this, as well as the story and character selection! They all have their own playstyles and getting into the controls is so fun! Gathering diamonds, gold, relics, xyz and upgrading different aspects of your stats and passages is soooo fun! You can spend so much time playing this game, it really is worth the money for me. Thank you sm!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun game! > I love the art style and visuals. > The moving scenery reminds me a lot of Octopath! Also, (and I can't believe I'm saying this) I'm actually finding the dodge mechanics fun for once. I normally never dodge, but the way it's implemented in this game is really satisfying (by triggering auto attacks) and forgiving enough on the timing to use it reflexively mid-battle without needing a ton of practice. Pros: 1. Well implemented game-play mechanics 2. Lovely visuals 3. Story…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting gameplay and storyline but fs gotta play with 2 people. Impossible to pass some levels alone
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I enjoy the combat and pixel art of this game, it is a little light on the content. Having the coop option is help as it makes the runs more fun. If you're looking for a different kind of roguelike, give this one a shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth it at all, really hard to see during combat and the story is meh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this on a whim and have really enjoyed my time with it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty cool pixel game, although a bit boring at first.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What I had in front of me was a good-quality roguelike with good replayability. 7 hours today flew by literally unnoticed. I haven't tested the possibility of co-op yet, but I think I can spare some time for it. Gameplay drive, I like that I do not have to monotonously beat opponents - Everything is pretty fast! However, I did run into some issues with the text.... Noticed word mistakes, but I think this will be polished - still the game is very recent and will be supported
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I especially like the mechanics of dodges in this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool toy, played it a little, liked it, will play in the future
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's nice to have a Wizard of Legend 1.5
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool game, bought it at a discount I sit in classes at the university and play, I like it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice action roguelike with interesting combat. Surprised by smooth animations, warm color scheme and atmosphere of musical tranquility.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have nostalgia for this game, I love you developer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun game, nice art and combat
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed art style and the way you go near the trees. Game is a little bit to hard or maybe i am a slow learner Anyways loved the art concept and gameplay
