Tried SteamWorld Build but it's apparently not my thing :( First of these games I haven't grooved with, but it kinda stressed me out strangely. Making progress in post-game stuff for SteamWorld Quest. And oh yeah, finally started Expedition 33!
unlabelledView post →I've shouted them out before but I gotta do it again: If you've ever wanted to make a card battler (like Slay the Spire, Steamworld Quest, etc.) but you don't have programming experience...you can now do that in RPG Maker! unlabelledView post →@jasonluthor.com kindly gifted me Dredge for Christmas and I got to say I've been loving but I also bought a few new games for Christmas. Of these I've only played Peglin. Played a lot of Oblivion lately. And some Steamworld Quest. Love the card mechanics in that game but hate the fucking story.

unlabelledView post →I saw some offhand posts yesterday about "how will a deckbuilder type game translate to a longer experience like Fate/Extra Record" and I wanna say I had a pretty fun time with SteamWorld Quest! get it when it's like 2 dollars store.steampowered.com/app/804010/S...

unlabelledView post →Have not personally played them but friends keep pushing me to play Cobalt Core and Steamworld Quest. I played the demo for Wildfrost a while back and really enjoyed it, but never got around to playing it on release. The art in that game is amazing.
unlabelledView post →Heya folks, here's a 7th short featuring Steamworld Quest by Image & Form Games and Thunderful Publishing. There's officially only 5 more chapters in the game, so I should be done with it either tomorrow, or the day after. #steamworldquest #videogames #indiegames #rpg #shorts

unlabelledView post →I finished SteamWorld Quest today! This game sat in my backlog for a while. Mainly because I'm not the best at deck builders. After having made it to the end though, I can say it has grown on me a lot. I'm still no good at making a decent deck, but the battles and Boss fights are still really fun!
unlabelledView post →Heya folks, here's an 8th, and final, short featuring Steamworld Quest by Image & Form Games and Thunderful Publishing. Well, the game is officially over. Took me another 3h to beat it, but it's done! I have a game picked out to replace it as well, was a request from a fan on TikTok. #indiegames

unlabelledView post →Heya folks, here's a 4th short featuring Steamworld Quest by Image & Form Games and Thunderful Publishing. NGL, the heroes (Not the MCs) in this game are the most incompetent blowhards ever, lol. #steamworldquest #videogames #indiegames #rpg #gameplay
unlabelledView post →Also picked up Steamworld Quest for my bday. All Steamworld games are on sale right now so take advantage if you can! Probably my favorite indie game series?
unlabelledView post →Just wrapped up Child of Light, a wonderful game. I always love a game that tells a quick, charming RPG story (see also: Steamworld Quest, everything Zeboyd makes). Add on some *gorgeous* watercolor-style graphics, a cute fairy tale narrative, and a Grandia-lite battle system.
unlabelledView post →Not sure how close they are, but Fights in Tight Spaces is the chill-and-stop-thinking game I have a zillion hours in, and Steamworld Quest: The Hand of Gilgamech has a really fun story!
unlabelledView post →I played Re:Night demo on PC during the weekend. I like some deckbuilding games (Slay the Spire 1, SteamWorld Quest, Baten Kaitos), and this game can potentially be one of the greats in the genre. It mixes deckbuilding with strategy combat. 8/10
unlabelledView post →I plan on finishing another SteamWorld game next: SteamWorld Quest! I haven't played it in a bit, but I want to finish it soon. My Switch backlog is getting a little Unmanageable at the moment 😵💫
unlabelledView post →Stream Plans This Week Might not be able to stream Tuesday or Thursday this week, but I will definitely finally start the next stream backlog game with votes tonight! That game being an interesting one, SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech, a card game RPG! We'll give it a go and see from there C:
unlabelledView post →Oh yeah, I don't think it's an end game term. But I think it is telling what the base game is. In Skyrim, Dark Souls, and Caves of Qud I am controlling one person. In Veilguard, SMTV, and SteamWorld Quest I am controlling a party. The extent of "control" varies, but it exists.
unlabelledView post →You're quite welcome! I enjoyed the game a lot. I've been slowly playing all Image & Form Games' back catalogue, lol. Started with Steamworld Dig last year and have beaten Steamworld Quest and The Gunk since.
unlabelledView post →Loved working on that game with composer @ratvaderr.bsky.social! ✨ Oh and please, please, please, credit the right musicians on Spotify for the SteamWorld Quest soundtrack 🙏 Both myself and Ratvader composed for the game. unlabelledView post →and it can be fun, in a podcast-game way, to wander through a world and one-shot everything for hours on end, but it’s not much of a dramatic structure. I think this is why Steamworld Quest, which tried to do a campaign-based version of the RLDB template, didn’t work despite being a quality game
unlabelledView post →9. SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech What a neat little RPG. The SteamWorld games are usually-good genre-explorations of sorts, and this one's a mix of customizable card game and turn-based RPG. It's not amazing, but "RPG starring fantasy robots" is an amusing combo.
unlabelledView post →The only other turn-based game that has hit me this hard and this consistently with its basic combat option flow is Steamworld Quest. I really hope I get to see the day where this level of fundamentals becomes the norm for turn-based combat
unlabelledView post →#9: SteamWorld Quest. Another SteamWorld banger! In contention for my fave even?? There's some great character work and strategic party planning hiding under the surface of this funny robot game.
unlabelledView post →Just finished SteamWorld Quest: The Hand of Gilgamech. Very good game. Took < 35 hours, by far the longest SteamWorld game for me so far. Different, even for a series that thrives on difference. While the six games share the same overarching storyline, there are only two sequels. I've played Dig 2, and it builds on Dig 1, but more in a basic concept way. Everything is more, for lack of a better her, fleshed out, they're robots, and feels like a very different clanker. I'll go on more about it…

unlabelledView post →Think my next game is going to be #TheGunk. From the makers of the #Steamworld series (up to Steamworld Quest) apparently it's quite short but still worth a go.
unlabelledView post →that looks fun! Right up my alley I'm currently on a card game RPG streak: from Prime Gaming i've received Steamworld Quest and Dark Sky. Both very fun and very different from each other despite both being card games
unlabelledView post →I remember SteamWorld Quest being a pretty fun game, especially with regards to the various interactions between the characters, both outside and during combat. :) The story itself is pretty decent too, even if it is the typical "band of misfits go on an adventure and save the world" kind of story.
unlabelledView post →twitch.tv/bete1g3use 👻 3 Chapters left of SteamWorld: Quest, lets get in there and finish this great game cozy gaming time!~
unlabelledView post →I love single player deckbuilding games, but the genre is full of roguelikes with optimal strategy of "cut your deck down to a handful of combo cards and never add anything else" Any suggestions for a deckbuilding game that's not a roguelike? Stuff like MtG Shandalar, Culdcept, or Steamworld Quest.
unlabelledView post →i dont remember if Steamworld Quest was like that or not…its an rpg and you got robots fighting but i feel all the card game mechanics were mostly on the player side, i cant remember it being a “thing” in universe, early gameplay doesnt mention cards either
unlabelledView post →Nice! I'd take an offer for Othercide, SteamWorld Quest, & There is No Game, or whatever of those is left after your closer friends make claims?
unlabelledView post →Playing: Steam World Quest: the Hand of Gilgamech (Switch) I have yet to at a bad Steam World game. I beat Dig on my 2DS, got rather far in Dig 2 on my PC, and played some of Heist on my 2DS. All very different from each other, all great. Quest is a turn based RPG with card mechanics, and it works. It has the same irreverent tone the other games have, but lighter thanks to the quasi-medieval setting. I'm not typically a card mechanics fan, but it works here. It varies the combat without beging…
unlabelledView post →25th Game Finished of 2024 - SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech (2019) I’m not much of a card game player but if they are mostly like this I might play more. The story leaves quite a bit to be desired but the deck building and card based combat are quite enjoyable.
unlabelledView post →46th game of 2024: SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech (Switch) This is the game that made me think card-based battle systems might not be so bad, and I enjoyed it the second time around too. It's fun building decks that play off of each other to really pile on damage or buffs.
unlabelledView post →Oh, no! I just realised the pun in #SteamWorldQuest’s title: ‘Hand of GilgaMECH’ not ‘GilgaMESH’. m( It's way too subtle if you only ever read it. #SteamWorld
