60 of 194 · most liked firstPasstech games learned the WRONG lessons from the prequel. Why did they think, after hearing complaints/suggestions from the first game, that they would make this one longer, grindier, and harder? This is not a game you enjoy but one you work at. You restart mission after mission hoping the right combination of items they predetermined to be the solution will work. They intentionally keep mission times and rewards low to make it FEEL harder than it needs to be. This is not a game you win but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →forces online play, but servers down so game is not playable, needs to be removed from store
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First game was more fun. They took the fun out and made the game unnecessarily complicated! The guns are weak, can't be oriented. You have to erase them and build again to change the direction... on top of this there is a limited number of items you can build . In short, no fun whatsoever, just believe on luck that you build the guns in the right direction. Also, most of the items are useless
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A significant step back from the original game. Three main steps back for me is: 1) The default gun can no longer be rotated. This is a huge con because the original level designs relied heavily on adapting your ship and gun arrangement. Now that guns can't be rotated, you basically have to play multiple times to learn where to target your guns before ever seeing the threat. This changes the challenge from one of quick-paced adaptation to rote memorization of the intended solution. 2) The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are already a lot of reviews that speak to the gameplay and how grindy it can be. The grindiness is my main complaint. I have no desire to shuttle parts to other locations so I can craft some parts. The gameplay itself is fairly fun, although I would prefer a less hectic pace. I'd rather have a dozen or so well thought out missions then have to keep playing generic feeling ones.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, they took the good gameplay of the first game and just... made it awful. I keep trying to come back to it to enjoy it, but I just can't, no matter how hard I try, because it does the equivalent of punch me in the face with the boredom bat repeatedly any time I try to have fun. There are a number of problems that all pile up on top of one another that turn it from a fun game into just an endless nuisance. If it were just one or two, it'd be mildly annoying but not too bad, but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game as it lasted. Now the servers are down, since atleast two weeks. So it feels like 50% of the game are not accessible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game requires you to be online at all times. If your connection is interrupted, it'll close out your game in the middle of a run. It's not very fun to begin with. I like the idea, but execution is poor. Then the always online bit is just infuriating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This could have been a fun game, and at times I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, a majority of the time is either spent screaming at your monitor in rage or grinding materials and levels so you can stop screaming at your monitor in rage. I don't play games to feel frustrated and angry. The game very deliberately presents you with missions you need to grind to get ready for, on top of already having to play each mission multiple times to learn the patterns and figure out what the right build order…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i knew of the mixed reviews, and i thought it was haters just hatin' turns out, they were right. having to do runs just to carry cargo to the different mechanics to build parts... the mechanics can't even build everything, so you gotta choose witch cargo to bring to that specific mechanic. too much grinding. life is short. time to move on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay is the same as the original, but the upgrade system is so bad I gave up before getting very far into the game. Upgrades cost materials, but they only exist at the station where you earn them. And to move them between stations you have to do a full cargo run (defend against enemies etc). There's limited routes between stations, some stations only craft some upgrade types, some upgrades require all material types, and you have limited cargo space. Gathering stuff where you need it takes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Holy crap, they went full grind mode with this game, Original Space run was definitely better, I really wish they stuck with a more single player experience, with maybe more unique weapons and ship designs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If only there was an offline mode.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself isn't bad, it's just balanced to try and coerce any kind of engagement out of the multiplayer aspect. To push the playtime hours up for no actual good reason. You get plenty of resources for upgrades, but it's per planet. You need others to carry resources around to even be as powerful as your playtime would allow, yet the game is heavily balanced towards specific tactics and/or long playtimes ontop of that. It leaves Galaxy as a sadly bloated sequel, but only bloated in…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FIrst game is fantastic. This one is just too hard. It requires multiple runs of the same mission to complete the smallest objectives. Youll be tossed into a mission with 32 fighters and an asteroid field but only 300 credits to build defenses. This isnt a matter of not being skilled enough to handle such things, it just isnt possible. I spent hours farming the best possible upgrades and cant even get past the second sectors missions without spending 20 extra minutes on them simply moving one…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Server access seems intermittent and it is definitely not my internet, can play for 30 mins then get booted off and it's unavailable for hours. What is going on Passtech?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The open campaign world was implemented badly. I enjoy going on runs to complete quests. I enjoy going on runs to get 3-stars on the route. I enjoy going on runs to open up new areas of the map. I do NOT enjoy going on runs just to funnel my own hard-earned resources around the map. The game already had an adequate amount of grinding in the form of repeatable quests and getting 3-star runs. There was absolutely ZERO reason to make player-owned resources require ANOTHER layer of grinding.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: It's an interesting take in the old TD concept. In space. Highly customizable ships for each "run". Interesting enemies/menaces. Cons Characters are...idiotic at best. Story is...uninteresting at best. It would probably be an upgrade if neither existed. Multiplayer is wholly unnecessary, seems like something the developer wanted to shoved into to game. Which bring us to the last point of grind. Guess the developer never expected people playing his game 10 years after release, because…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frustrating garbage. would be a great game if not for to few resources at start of each run. Fun for masochist that like to grind and not for someone that want to relax after week of hard work. Game's promissing for the first 7-8h then you need to grind and repeat the same run 5-10 times for resources. You are being attacked from every direction in most of the runs but get resources to build maybe 2-3 cannons each with stupid ~30dergree firing angle, no way to set up sufficient defences.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best tower defense game! Super under rated. Just look at my hours. I can probably count on one hand the number of singleplayer games I play that long. Here's hoping they revisit the series again some day!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is not so bad, but there are gameplay bugs and it seems that no one is going to fix them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too hard with no payoff. An amazing disappointment for fans of the first as all of the new systems do nothing but actually drag down the gameplay. There are so many things which are just time wasters like having to move your own crafting materials as missions, which pay nothing, have a chance of you losing materials, and have no real upside or positive gameplay effect. It is worse than the standard busy work. Limitations of how many of each type of module you can buy based on your level is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Run Galaxy is the sequel to Space Run, a rather unusual game that combines tower defense, fast paced combat and inventory management. The unique gimmick in Space Run Galaxy is that it's not the enemies that move along a path, it's you. You are a Space Runner, essentially a delivery guy in space. But space is a dangerous place full of aliens, asteroids and pirates, so you have to defend yourself against the never ending assault until you reach your goal. The gameplay centes mainly around…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of enemies coming from random directions, most guns cannot be reoriented so you'll have to hope the direction is still useful for the next bunch of enemies (which very often it isn't), scratch and rebuild only very limited because you only have a limited number of replacements which you need to buy first, lot's of new mechanics which make the game more complicated albeit not necessarily more fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WOW! Fantastic game!! Just finished the main story missions. You can keep playing 4ever, but I need a break, haha. This game is a masterpiece of TD. Very creative and challenging. Allows you a good variety of weapons/defense to experiment & plan your strategy(s). The 1st system basically teaches you the concepts of the game. The 2nd system teaches you how to survive as the difficulty ramps up fast. The 3rd system allows you to develop a good working strategy going forward as that's where the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if I like the game yet but the first impression is not good. I played this game back to back with the first one and the former was better. This game is way more grindy and infuriating, they tried to make it longer by complicating everything. Why you may ask? 1. "The open world" and the illusion of choice that's only there to complicate life and make you rerun your mission ad infinitum. 2. The game puts way too much stoppers on you from the start. You have special cargo that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Greetings! Today we will be looking at the sequel of “Space Run” aptly named “Space Run Galaxy” which tries to expand on the core gameplay by adding MMO style mechanics and more missions. Does this help the game? That depends on how much you love the core gameplay loop. I really enjoyed the original game due to the puzzle aspect and new take on tower defense; I was hoping to feel that again. Let’s discuss. Back in the Saddle Again: Okay, this game is Space Run, if you liked Space Run it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To upgrade your ship, you have to haul upgrade materials around from planet to planet, which is very tedious. If you don't want to do that, the game is going to quickly outpace your ship. I just wanted to play a tower defense style game, not an inventory management nightmare.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another sequel that fails to be as good as the first game. Another game ruined by trying to force multiplayer into a single player game. Game locks items behind a level system, but throws enemies at you that you cannot really fight, because they are using items you have not even found yet. by the 3rd or so mission you feel like you are already behind the tech curve. And the having to ship your items to other areas is just plain stupid. 1st game was great. this game is not worth your time.

I started on this one the other day, but haven't decided if I'm going to play through it or not yet. #spacerungalaxy #videogames #indiegames #gameplay
unlabelledView post →Compared to the first game, Space Run Galaxy is two steps forward one step back. There is a bit more variety and some improved AV elements but I had about as much fun with this game as I did with the first one. The problem is that the fun in the first game was condensed into a tight 10 hours and in this game is thinly spread over 50+ hours. Still, both games offer a great twist on tower defense and are worth checking out.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard tower defense like game with enough different missions to take a while to beat. Graphics are top notch. If you enjoy challenging games then you may enjoy this game. Simple to learn but hard to master.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a hybrid clicker/tower defense game where you build components onto a spaceship then go on a "run" between two locations, killing everything on your way (then spending resources to repair, upgrading, and then picking the next run). This is the sequel to Space Run, with a similar overall theme. This is a very close review. The game is a bit simplistic and feels a bit like a tablet game, although it is PC native. The game works and displays well enough in 4K, but customisation…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why is the default for this game online? The "features" of online are not a big deal. Why do I have to pick off-line EVERYTIME I OPEN THE GAME? Why do i GET DISCONNECTED FROM THE GAME SERVER WHEN I'M IN OFFLINE MODE???? Game is kinda fun but don't support them. There is no reason that this game needs a server to run besides the company wanting to kill the game at some point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Run Galaxy - in short, take everything good about the first game, and throw it away. This game is utterly _riddled_ with poor design choices: First of all there is poor scaling, which locks items necessary for efficient runs behind level-up which, surprise, requires you do do efficient runs, which requires items locked behind level- oh dear. This wouldn't be so bad, except that levels are randomised. This makes some of the nice additional features worthless - want to customise your ship…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A definite downgrade from the prequel. Basic features like being able to turn turrets are taken away and now you can only build limited numbers of towers. You must buy more in between missions. Which then leads to a lot of grinding. The multiplayer aspects are cute with its market in between players and setting up deliveries for other players, but they don't really offer much really in terms of actual gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard to bring myself to even want to play this it is just so boring and I really liked the first one too such a shame that this one simply takes all the problems the first one had and compounds them. One of the strong points of the first was Buckman who was completely full of himself but he at least had character. This one has soulless character and adds to boredom with meaningless missions.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great sequel to a great game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, it is's quite nice game, which you can play few hours of few minutes. It's combining some logical thinking, tactical decisions and planning. There are more cargo types than in previous game, so even additional challenges appear. Multiplayer addition is nice touch which is not intrusive for gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game — I hope someone makes more games like this :) + Fun story + Building your own ship and using blueprints is great + The balance is good (a bit too easy for me, but challenging enough for most players) + Fun spaceship tower defense gameplay + Lots of fun weapons, upgrade combinations, and things to do - If you are playing online and lose connection before finishing a run, you lose the run and have to start again. I see some players complaining that the game is too grindy, but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tower Defence as a ship trying to make deliveries, It's Great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm writing this solely because I am shocked that the reviews are mixed. It may be a rather difficult game at times, but the satisfaction of completing a difficult mission becomes oh so greater. It's simply a fun game to play, however, in offline play, it may get repetative, i.e. the replayability may not be all that great. You may take this with a grain of salt if you'd like, since it's been a while since I've played the game, but all in all it is an enjoyable experience and worth the money.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A must have in Tower Defense genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just love that game soooo much! This here is my 4th or so playthrough... The difficulty is challenging, the progression feel is superb and not a single run equals the other... Build your ship, try different layouts, i could do it all day. I´m surprised, that the reviews are so mixed... I simply love everything about that game and hope there will be a third part :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Tower Defense game between average and good. The graphics are nice, better than common of the genre and run without bugs. The mechanics of this second title of the series continues to evolve the genre, pretending to adapting the weapons and defenses clasically fixed on earth to a mobile platform like spaceships. The first failed but in this one have success by logical idea of to include rotative or mobile weaponry and to made wider shot angles. This tittle offers better missions rewards…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God playing this game is such a pain compared to the first one, why did they have to limit and restrict everything so much?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ Original twist on the tower defense genre + Great multiplayer feature where other players can transport your goods where you need them + Nice player-to-player trading system, though sadly few people still play it. + Good variety of enemies - The difficulty spikes are sometimes absurd - Sadly, the game cannot be paused, so don't expect any proper planning. It's just about quickly placing towers ASAP and finding at least somewhat sensible positions - The controls feel horribly designed.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Run Galaxy is the better Space Run game then the 2014 Space Run. Space Run 2014 is just ageing like old milk. but i came back now in 2026 to play Space Run Galaxy and its just great. its one of the best Tower Defense games i played and i own more then half DM games on Steam. its a fun, relaxing most of the time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just a worse version of the previous game, "Space Run". Core gameplay is 90% the same, all they added is tedium. In the previous game you just needed money to upgrade your stuff. In Space Run Galaxy, you are now limited to how many turret of each type you can build. You build them with money and crafting components, but these components need to be moved around from planet to planet like mission cargo. You HAVE to spend a significant chunk of time just ferrying your own stuff around…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is great game, that you can play for 10 minutes or an hour
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →play the old single player game . this ones had weird ideas that are very grindy and unfair spawning. both have suboptimal controls
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've decided to play it again after many years seeing a message about server wipe due to some hacker attack. Back then there was no steam reviews, so I'm giving it now - cool game, good sequel. Would be a bit better if it would be a bit less about management of resources between planets, but core gameplay still great. Would love to see 3rd installment in series. And many thanks for developers keeping online feature available after all those years.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i liked the first part much more this one seems unnecessarily overcomplicated
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay isn't "bad" per say. There're some interesting ideas with putting up jobs for other players to tackle, or taking on jobs posted by others. It's just... the kind of "ships" you build do not look like space ships at all, which makes it hard to live this fantasy of space traversal.
