It is sad because with the art assets and effort put into the game otherwise it would not take many more mechnics and design elements to make this an interesting if casual game. But right now this is definitely for people who mostly just want to play something mindless.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 54% It took three attempts, but Lonely Troops finally managed to create a somewhat enjoyable Build-A-Lot clone with Megapolis, which I can actually recommend for those who like casual city-planner/time management games. Long version: Megapolis is the third in the casual city building series made by Lonely Troops, where players need to create small city blocks on a 5×5 grid by meeting certain level goals. While it still retains the problem of its predecessors—small buildings make…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If this game were free, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. It is really fun for about an hour or two. After that, you have literally done everything and have no need/want to play anymore. The "campaign" is merely a long tutorial that is not necessary. The scale of the game/sandbox mode is extremely small and you are very limited in your ability to be creative. There may be DLC or something that makes this game worthwhile, but the core game itself is simplistic and has no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Megapolis Review - Rating: 6.7/10 General Impression Megapolis is a pretty nice combination of the casual, indie, simulation and strategy genres. The graphics are relatively nice, seen from above, being between two-dimensional and three-dimensional. The polishing of the graphics is pretty nice, but some things could be improved. The textures are alright. The atmosphere varies between each of the 24 levels, containing the following: buildings, moving cars, construction areas, forests, rivers,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't waste your money. You cannot build a city with this. It is timed based senerios. It plays okay, but you quickly get bored with the similarities of the senerios. There is only about 20 squares to work with, and later senerios get no larger. Snadlots are the same size.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A time-management and puzzle game that is designed for (and probably easier to play on) a touchscreen. Keyboard shortcuts for functions would greatly improve playability with the keyboard and mouse. Slow starts and busy toward the end of each scenario. I found this one to be the easiest of the 3 *polis games from Lonely Troops. Additional Details Operating System Ubuntu Linux 18.04 x64 CPU Ryzen 5 1500x GPU GTX 1050,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Megapolis DISCLAIMER: I received this product for no cost for the purpose of reviewing. However, this does not affect my views and opinions of the game. Megapolis is a very standard city building game. The game is very similar to a few other titles by the same developer; Romopolis, and Townopolis. You take control of an architect who's goal is to overcome each challenge thrown at you (in the campaign). In Free-play, or Sandbox mode, there are no objectives. You're free to build your city to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lonely Troops created a lot of amazing games. But before they made those, they created this. What is this? It's a game from a boring trilogy. All three of these games are almost the same. They are cheap and they look quite appealing. You can even buy a cheap bundle of them all. Townopolis, Romopolis and Megapolis trilogy. It's a bit misleading in terms of the gameplay. They look like a classic city builder simulator. But it's quite the opposite, it's a basic clicker. You click stuff and then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll start by saying I consider the "About this game" blurb to be wildly misleading. It says "build dozens of houses"...only if you continually knock them down and rebuild them. The game is set in a 5 * 5 grid, making a total of 25 grids. That's it!!!! The whole game is played in 25 grids!!! And not even all of the grids can be built on. This game has been likened to Banished. Which is kind of like saying "Tic- Tac-Toe" is just like a jumbo crossword puzzle. It could have had potential…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont even know if to recomand this game or not i mean is a nice game but also i feel like is bad too as some levels can be really difficult to achieve in the time they give you and it can be very pain in the ass sometimes....and good side of it is that it give you feeling of being lets say a architect and you can build your own city ..so anyway if you love this kind of games with building ..you need try this game ..enjoy !!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite enjoyable, casual strategy/management game. Took me about 8 hours to finish everything. It doesn't have some complicated gameplay, so if you expect deep strategy elements with realistic economy then you should seek elsewhere. At the same time I enjoyed my time spent with it and I'm not quite sure where all those negative reviews come from. Yes, this game might not appeal to everybody and I wouldn't really recommend it in normal price range on Steam, but for around $0.20 of bundled price,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even though I have not played for very long, this is the same as Townopolis, and Romopolis. This game is a fun time killer game just like the others and worth the money. This game is different than the other games, but still same concept just reskinned. You can make your own custom goals, or follow the campaign and continue to finish the game. I have yet to finish all 3 of these games, but it gives me something to do when I am bored in the future. This game is casual and relaxing, and the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very simple but entertaining city management game, with simple but pleasant graphics. If you are looking for a Sim City, Anno or other games like that, this is not your game, it is too simple. Recommended for players who are starting in this genre or who are under 12 years old. The game is cheap, and I bought it on a sale for less than $ 1, so I recommend it. 6/10 Hey, if this review has been useful to you, you could follow me on: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38997970/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun city building game. Keep in mind the asking price. While the game is fun and entertaining, it doesn't have as much detail as higher tier games. However, still fun to play around in.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Entertaining enough. It feels like playing a city-themed puzzle game, with a timer. The challenges keep it interesting. Don't expect too much, it's a simple game, so don't expect it to feel like an actual city builder like Sim City or Caesar 3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun.. but definetly not a relaxing city builder
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some kind of a city builder/management game. I wish I could give it a mixed review as it is honestly not all that great but I did not mind playing it at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like the genre, you'll like this. Protip: The Bus Station can be made on one specific tile. Click around, you'll find it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The simplicity of it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Megapolis is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a lazy, greedy cash grab. It's a tablet ported Sim-City ripoff. Being a tablet/mobile game, it lacks any of the sophistication of even the original Sim-City, let alone far superior sequels and competitors like Cities: Skylines. It's impossible to recommend this when there's far, far better options. Mobile apps don't belong on Steam. I didn't buy a gaming rig so I could pretend it's an iPhone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gamews like this should just stick to mobile phones and stop trying to port over onto PC, total rubish but maybe worth 5 mins of entertainment on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/Uj7IDVznEsc Shifting the mechanics to a more tile based focus pushes 'Megapolis' more towards the board game flavor. The core idea is strong but the overuse of timers in key areas resulting in tedium and blandness.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting time management game. Some unusual features and it's fun to plan ahead your sandbox game. When you select sandbox game you can pick 3 goals to achieve. Some of it very hard to achieve simultaneously :) I'm glad I've bought this game, as a bonus it's in my native language with quality translation. Can't ask for more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- a very good time management game - it took me 40 hours to solve the campaign - paid €4,- - had fun all the way - 100% solved just bought Townopolis ;-)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fairly simple. You build in a small space with a few building plots. Some plots cannot be removed or are reserved for specific buildings in campaign mode. The campaign mode feels really slow and it is sometimes hard to get both the trophy and the star in the same run due to the round ending as soon as you complete the objective. Essentially, it ends up with you repeating the same thing over and over. Make buildings for money, then complete the objective. Do note that there are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it, but it is definately not a city builder. It is more like a puzzle game! That one thing to keep in mind before buying this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a level base challenge game. You build buildings for income and parks to make people happy. Each level is a new "challenge" with a medal if you do it within a certain time limit, with a bonus trophy if you complete the extra task as well. It's games like this one that make me wish Steam offered a "Meh" button. The Polis Series by Lonely Troops are all on the cusp of being good games, but are just lacking a bit. I give this a thumbs up because it has a great foundation to be a…

unlabelledView post →Backlog Day: Megapolis Like Romeopolis and Townpolis this is more of the same. And like those two games, I always need an extra 1-10 seconds to get the gold star. Incredibly frustrating. The games are fine for this sort of thing. I'm just getting too much rage from them.
unlabelledView post →Megapolis is a fun time management mini city builder game. The goals are easily met, and there are a variety of different buildings to unlock. Recommended if you can get it cheap.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a tough one for a Lonely Troops-game... *uff* ...but I finally managed to beat it. >.< This is a city-builder sim, but unlike in SimCity or the like, there's no real "free play". You have 24 scenarios with a set of goals to achieve - and that's basically it. You still can play those scenarios in a "Free Roam"-mode with your own set of rules, but... there's nothing to gain from it. But, as you can see at my playtime, it keeps you busy for quite some time. Until you've really gotten into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a casual building simulation. The last Lonely Troops has put out (so far) it deals with building in city environments. It is not that stressful, and works as a cooldown from more intense games (or life).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33025671-Missi-the-Achievement-Huntress/] Please see my curator page for more games that are worth your time Approximate amount of time to 100%: 15 hours Estimated achievement difficulty: 5/10 Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1, level selection Has it been in a bundle: Yes Is there a good guide available: No, but for the gold stars on level 24 you can find the solution…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad for the one time playthrough i've gone through - not starting other at all! However I recommend it, if the game is on a sale :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So the game key for this game was included when I purchased some other games from HRKGame.com. This ended up being pretty addicting and I usually don't play these types of games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable little game. Took me around 7 hours to finish it with all gold stars and trophies. I would prefer to buy it in a bundle or discount, but even the full 4$ price is acceptable. It's a rather casual experience, good to pass the time when you don't want something more serious. Reminds me a bit of 1849. My main feedback would be to make the game longer and add more variety, and more adjacency bonuses (like the park). Also, there are lots of cool stats like commerce, healthcare, ecology,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really fun game where you are given a lot of levels to complete. Each one has goals you have to meet to continue, another goal to get a gold (usually a time limit) and another goal to get a trophy. A lot of the golds and trophies can't be done in the same run so it gives you a reason to come back and replay some of the levels. A lot of people complained because they thought it would be a sandbox build your own town kind of thing. Personally I think I like the goals and small…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4. Guilty pleasure game Don't like the term "guilty" pleasure, but as far as games that are supposed to be "bad" yet I can't stop playing, I'll go with "dumb" cell phone games. I've been obsessively building a city in Megapolis for years now.
unlabelledView post →It is not very easy game , but is fun thank you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is garbage, tried to play in sandbox, there is no such thing, it runs as if is was designed for a computer out of the earliy 90's insisting upon a slow progress bar in between every action. If you are looking for a simcity style game, this isn't it. Your area is small, You don't get to start your own city, instead getting a premade map, and everything takes forever to accomplish as if it is trying to test your patience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun, casual game. It is quite easy and relaxing to play. Very similar to its prequels Townopolis and Romopolis. If you like one you'll like them all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh, it's an extremely basic city building game, but if you get it on sale for 1-2€ it is actually worth it. The cards are kinda useless as the price is rather high (unless you're gonna sell them) and the achievements take a while to obtain but aren't too difficult, just boring after a while.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THE GOOD: Simple and easy to learn, deeper strategy than meets the eye, progressive missions, nice graphics, sandbox mode. THE BAD: Looks very basic, tutorial is mandatory and marginally too long, gameplay not that compelling. The game comes across very basic and shallow, but there's a degree of planning and strategy required to pull off the objectives within the neccessary timeframes. Even moreso if you want to get all the stars.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the challenges that the campaigns offer however i think that you should be able to build roads and when leaving the screen to say go check emails, it doesnt stall what its doing like demolishing a building. i wish the sandbox was bigger to be able to make a city and it had like people (not cars) moving about (think sim city) ....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a big game but very fun. Easy to 100% achieve. Campaign is fun. I would grab it on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Megapolis, developed and published by Lonely Troops, is a city-building game that feels deliberately crafted rather than sprawling or overwhelming, offering a focused interpretation of urban planning that prioritizes clarity, constraint, and strategic forethought. Instead of presenting an infinite sandbox or simulating every nuance of civic life, it challenges players to develop functioning cities within defined geographic limitations, budgetary restrictions, and scenario-driven objectives. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended. Having played the previous games in the series, I can say this one felt a little bit better overall. It has dated graphics and is pretty simple when you break it down, but it's charm keep me coming back to complete all the campaign levels. Some trophies are tricky and the deadlines can be a bit tight, especially in the later levels, but it adds a nice challenge. For the price and amount of content, it's a solid choice if you enjoy casual city builder puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have enjoyed playing all three of these games. They are more challenging than build-a-lot but still easy to understand. Wish there were more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relative to Romopolis and Townopolis, I think Megapolis is the best one of this series. It fixes a lot of problems. Pros: +More beautiful mission pictures and trophies. +More detailed building process. +Realistic road traffic system. +More reasonable prices. +You don't worry about building damage anymore if you have enough electric power.
