60 of 93 · most liked firstWhat can I say? The devs seem to wanted to make a solid rogueish game without any BS. The pistol feels like a pistol, the shotgun like a shotgun. You don't get trashcans firing rotten fish or similar. No, this stays simple and solid. In every level, you find at least one new gun and an upgrade. You can hold two guns and a basically infinite amount of upgrades, but you have to choose 1 of 3 each time. There's some permanent progression which will make the game easier over time, but that's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a roguelite game. World 1 is fine a little too many enemies but doable. Level 2 has an insane difficulty spike. You get attacked by waves of monsters, the levels is filled to the brink with them. At night time even more monsters spawn. There is very little progression between runs. Your character does not improve at all, if you do not find artifacts. You get some crystal and can upgrade one building in the base, but it does not seem to have any effect. There were zero artifact drops in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It seems to me this game might take a lot of inspiration from Nuclear Throne, due to the design, art style and gameplay feel. It's fast, the level is one big room, you've got several ammo types and fairly basic yet satisfying weapons. However, compared to that game, it's 1) Roguelite, with more progression between runs 2) Cheaper 3) Less BS/unfair 4) More skill based 5) More Bullet Hell-ish, akin to Enter The Gungeon, which i find more enjoyable 6) Has more passive items and such to play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess its a OK game for the asked price. But: + graphics are decent but not amazing + the sounds and music are also decent + the options are decent - the base is too abstract, i played only the first three levels few times and i only found few apple seeds, not artifacts, nothing valuable.. we need more info on what to do there and what to get from where.. - after you change the weapon or reload there is a very small but noticeable period when you CANNOT shoot and that is game breaking for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be clear this is a solid "meh". I was actually going to give it a lukewarm thumbs up because I lean toward supporting small dev teams and it's solid enough and not offensively bad, but writing this review changed my mind. As I was detailing all the bad things, I thought...wait...I was giving this a positive review right? Just didn't feel right, so thumbs down it is... TL;DR It's a middling roguelike (ok, rogue-LITE, nerds). If you're a veteran of Nuclear Throne and Enter the Gungeon, this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would be fun if there was *any* sense of progression. Every time you die, you are being set back to zero. The levels you have to play don't change. The only way to make lasting progress is by collecting artifacts. After playing a couple of hours, I found exactly one. So I am stuck playing the same levels over and over again hoping to get a bit further or finding something useful...it just gets old really fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Robinson is a very uneven game. Gameplay-wise it's a mixture of "Binding of Isaac"s and "Hero Siege"s gameplay with some mild RPG elements, stat improvements that make little difference from my experience and a variety of skills that are different in every run (however if you really want to finish the big boss, you will choose only the same handful of them in every game). The game has a major improvement that you can "construct", a special armor. Before you create this armor, every game…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a big fan of Nuclear Throne it's hard for me to not draw comparisons. NT is one of my favorite games ever. This game fell flat for me. To give an example of the difference in overall skill curve, it took me 80 hours to beat NT (complete a single loop). Enter the Gungeon probably took me 40 hours or more to beat. I got to the crystal boss in Space Robinson (seemed to be final boss) after under 5 hours. We actually killed each other in final hits so it didn't complete the game, but with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not like the way the game handled progression in form of wierd achievement-hunting. That said it has some good gameplay and a lot of okay-fun modifiers.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game. Haven't played much yet but I like to give reviews on new games for others to read before purchase and this plays kind of like Enter the Gungeon so I can tell I like it a lot. Game runs smooth, no hitching, no stuttering, no tearing, etc. Controller works perfectly fine. My only complaint is that when using a controller the screen moves when you move your character, kind of like when you move left it also moves the screen left like it would when you would press d and move your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This compares very, very poorly to Nuclear Throne. The screenshots really do it justice, its not as fun as it looks. Character movement and aiming is worse than in Throne. The game is less balanced than Throne. The unlockables are 100% ridiculous to figure out unless you use a guide. If Throne is 9//10, this is like 4 / 10. MAYBE worth it at 50 % discount. Personally, i wouldnt buy that 50 %.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game as part of a bundle. I was initially attracted to the game as it seemed very similar to Nuclear Throne. The game is a top-down shooter rogue-lite where you are required to traverse through 3 worlds (with 3 levels each). In each level you get a single upgrade, and you pick up weapons such as shotguns, snipers and laser weapons along the way. Once you die, you start back at the very beginning at your base which you can upgrade. Unfortunately the game did not live up to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT June 16, 2020: I'm changing my review from negative to positive after testing the update released earlier today. https://steamcommunity.com/games/953870/announcements/detail/2409936642439176598 The devs took the time to time to address the main issue I had with the game which was the lack of instructions for obtaining the necessary components for the base repairs so now, it's clearly written in the game by checking the broken equipment in the base. Additionally, a leveling system was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1.5 hours vested and the only progress I made was to turn on one of umpteen machines in my base Game plays the 'hardcore' card too far (even on easy) especially since weapons and enemy spawns are random, Sadly it demotes Robinson from a good challenge to just a waste time. The day / evening cycle is highly unnecessary and the developer should've considered that new players have no perks before introducing level 8 bosses and filling the screen with as many enemy spawns as memory would allow…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are janky as f***, I have tried with both a control and a keyboard and mouse. you don't seem to be able to change the mouse Sensitivity, so it feels laggy. On the controler you will have to spend time resetting most of the controls to make it playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit amateurish and boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a rogue-lite like so many others, some parts of the game are really well made, and a few things drag the game down quite a lot. The gameplay is really fun, but the progression is not. Neither what you do to progress, nor how you figure out how to progress is fun to me. This is the main issue I have with the game, even if the price is fair, the flaws might turn a good amount of people off. The elements that make this game a rogue-LITE, is severely lacking explanation and guidance for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not sure about the hate in the reviews. Maybe people expect too much from a roguelite game these days, but I found this one streamlined and fun with a simple arcadey approach. The controls are super responsive and fast, which is critical for the twin stick variety of roguelites. The weapons are fun and varied and the visuals are bold and retro just the way we like em. I didn't find the difficulty too punishing, but I'm not very far yet so I assume it gets pretty tough. Nuclear Throne had the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid rouge-lite game. There are a few things you should be aware of though. As of 10/13, there is little to no information out on how to unlock things. There is a singular semi-clear guide on how to unlock some of the things , but the thing is, the tips you get on how to unlock them in-game are lackluster at best. You have to go out of your way to figure them out. You might unlock 2-3 things randomly but the vast majority of the unlockables, you have to try specifically for them. They kind of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely not worth buying. You start right at the beginning every time you die and there is no save point. Wasted 4 hours on this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Average rouge-lite. The game is very punishing as a bullet hell with a zelda-like health system (5 hits and you die). A very poor combination for enjoyability.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great little nuclear thronelike
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not near the top of my roguelikes but i do like space robinson, its worthy of a play and a buy on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid presentation, but the game is not well designed and has really nothing that stands out in terms of mechanics and strategy. Also, I've started to really hate the concept of ammo (for a primary weapon), it's so un-fun and detracts from the positive aspects of gunplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nuclear Throne knockoff, with the main innovation that over repeated plays there is limited ability to unlock permanent advantages (like extra health or starting with a medkit). Another minor innovation is the inclusion of a day-night cycle. In practice, both of these things turn out not to be improvements. Many of the reviews here complain that the hints for unlocking the permanent boosts are too obscure, but the real problem is that most of them take so much time that finding them by trial…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game for masochists, but I am not one of them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the next best game if you like Nuclear Throne and Enter the Gungeon. It's a little weaker because the meta-game and grinding are slightly less well balanced/developed, but I think overall it's an underappreciated game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What can i say about the game? Pro's Its face paced. The weapons feel solid. Perks are fun. The controls fell pretty fluid. Con's I have no idea what im actually aiming for other than get the base up an running? The nights seem unnecessary. The hit box is way too big, you think you've dodged a shot well you havent. Healing seems few and far between. Again I have to stress theres NO explanation as to what the goal really is and its annoying as hell. When you swap weapons thers a brief time…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In a similar vein as Nuclear Throne (which I love) and Enter The Gungeon (which I could never get into), the game is fun once you adjust to the pacing. It's not excessively difficult (so far) but keeps playing fun and challenging. I bought it at a deep discount of $1 but it's definitely worth more from what I've seen so far!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is truly one of the best games that I have played in years. And that is no exaggeration. The game does a really good job of letting you discover the mechanics and it doesn't spoon feed you or hold your hand. I love games that let you discover mechanics, although for some this may be a little scary because as it stands there is no game guide, so you'll have to figure it out on your own. Nothing is so strange or complicated that you can't figure it out on your own. You start in your main…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Roguelike"...I like Rogue games and Roguelikes as well. Unfortunately, it seems the genre suffers under this buzzword. In Space Robinson, you begin by traveling aboard a "single-use" ship from some unknown origin to some unknown destination when an unknown disaster destroys the ship for no apparent reason. In quite a meta, self-aware "joke", your character comments on this very thing. Then you start running around with absolutely no direction, no tasks, no information. Just go somewhere,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 4.6 hours I got bored nd had enough. Progression was minimal, confusing and not fun. The gameplay itself was kinda nice, but wasn't really great to keep me by itself. It's not a bad game, but with it's flaws it's nothing special in so many rogue lites for me to recommend it. For me it felt like a waste of time, but hey, maybe for some it will click. Certainly a much more clear and meaningfull progression would help.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →have yet to complete the 3rd stage. the difficulty spike is way too steep. the night cycle is too fast. all in all a 4/10 game. buy something else
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot going for it, but the grinding and artifact collecting really slows it down. If the artifacts were more fun to collect this game would be an easy 10/10. Even still it's been pretty fun so far if you like games like nuclear throne or enter the gungeon then you will like this game too. Edit with spoilers: After playing the game more I found that it really picks up after you "attempt to beat evil" The world changes a lot and the enemies become a lot more interesting. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really awesome and a really hard game, if u want to challenge yourself then buy it definitely recommended!!!! Get ready to die a lot tough. Like a lot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everything in this game works well. The music is pleasant, the controls are smooth, and the graphics are colorful. I spent 19 hours collecting all the achievements, and it was fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and monotonous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very fun and has a lot of mechanics that separate it from other games. This game can be hard to get into but is worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a small game that has decent gameplay and roguelite appeal. I found the loot and progress loop to be a bit wonky but can try on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controller doesn't work on fullscreen 21:9 and I refuse to play this on either a tiny window or a oversized one that cuts the hud.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In order to upgrade the base you need artifacts. The artifacts only drop under specific conditions. There is a player who made a guide to discover the artifacts so that's a relief.....However! Problem is the conditions to get all this stuff. For example - Don't use medikits for 3 (or was it 2?) levels - Don't kill anything at ingame nighttime 2 nights in a row - Destroy 5 items (perks) rather than picking them up. Last one i remember seeing in the guide is truly annoying - There is an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard, but entertaining
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game, great mix of casual and hardcore!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mediocre in pretty much every way a game can be. It's not offensively bad, but it's not worth playing over classics like Enter the Gungeon and Nuclear Throne or newer games like Voidigo and Doomsday Hunters.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love how you increased the price of almost 4 years old game just because steam suggested new higher prices. As a Polish person i love to pay 2nd most in the world, had no idea Poland is such an economic powerhouse! inflation™, i bet that producing those pixels cost more now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an fun, yet simple rogue-like. Pretty easy to finish as far as Rogue-likes go so if you are unsure about the genre, this might be a friendly game to start on them. The enemies are not too varied but they keep the runs interesting enough, weapon variety is also not that big, and the random perks you can find at each run are interesting. Hardest part is to figure out how to obtain all the components to finish the game, but if you pay attention to the message boxes, you should be able to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Space Boringson What I Liked I mean, not much really, except the graphics weren't too bad. What I Did Not Like The game isn't that much fun. There are others like it that are better. Games like Enter the Gungeon or Hades would be a better purchase. Why I Stopped Playing I was bored, so I moved on. Disclaimer I have been a gamer for over 30 years. I tend to play mostly PC games. I also bounce around between games A LOT. I may purchase a $60 game and play it for 2 hours or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of fun, exactly what it describes itself as. It is still fun even if you aren't too good at games (like myself) and still possible to make progress, albeit a lot slower than others might. People complaining about it being too hard but I think that's the whole point? And also it's actually really not, it just might take (more than) a few goes at a level or at trying to unlock something (damn you winged pig, forever out of my reach). Never liked games like this before, so I'd say it's worth…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I picked up Space Robinson it was a middle of the road, basic, unbearably easy and simplistic experience. I loaded it back up the other day and boy, was I surprised. It's been heavily modified. The game is loads of fun and I have been enjoying every minute since I picked it back up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a console ported 2D top down retro pixel twin stick shooter/brawler with very lightweight RPG elements (progression is limited to collecting various powerup artifacts). Shoot/kite around waves of samey lazy retro pixel enemies, collect a few things, go through various samey procgen levels. This is like a masterclass in lazy low effort retro pixel shovelware. Gameplay: Old dead twin stick shooter format, zero innovation, immediate fail. Graphics: Retro pixel "art" used as a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't waist your time for this "absolutely nothing" game. at list the price is don't bite
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very addictive, but is somewhat too hardcore. Having died 50 times on the first three levels, I made it to the second location only twice. That's on the "easy" difficulty, I gave up and applied ArtMoney: playing became too repetitive. This is when the game became great again.
