Fun game, unfortunately published by 2K so it comes bundled with spyware. Actually insane. 2K does this a lot with their older games. They update the ToS to include agreeing to install hyper invasive spyware for old games, and sell the for free, or incredible sales so they can shove it only as many computers as possible. They plainly admit to selling and sharing your date to people in other counties that "may have lower standards of privacy protection", monitor what you do outside of the game…

I cant believe Im even writing this - Firaxis is selling your data to countries without proper privacy laws! (Read EULA or other comments if you dont believe me) If you want to play without being spied on youll have to manuelly put settings in place that stop…

I've been playing the Civilization series for over 12 years, so I used to believe that each generation of Civilization would gradually improve. But I never expected 2K to update its user terms, forcing me to allow programs to steal my personal information while I'm playing. I can't imagine what a game company's purpose would be in setting such terms. Therefore, I strongly suggest you carefully consider this factor before purchasing and patiently read other people's reviews. If those reviews…

👍 Game is fun, albeit not as much as Civ 5. The new district system is neat, but it's too much micro-management for my taste, and requires planning things out far in advance to avoid screwing yourself over later. Alas, I can't recommend a game with a EULA like this. Forced arbitration clauses are dumb, you shouldn't be required to give up your legal rights to play a videogame.

Prob the last decent Civ game ever. Civ7 has 30 DLC in 1 year, this beloved game had 10 DLC in 10 years. So sad to see a beloved franchise die like this

Having played and enjoyed this game for years I figured it was time for the review. With the unfortunate release of the monstrosity know as Civ Seven, I thought it necessary to recognize a proper well-made Civ game. The calamity of Civ Seven has pushed myself and several friends into the loving arms of good old Civ Six. We've been playing this title more and more. Thank the gods it exists. It might be the last good Civ game to ever exist. If you've somehow missed this one, and see it on…

7.5/10 Compared to civ5, it is deeper but more micromanagement heavy. civ5 feels smoother, while 6 rewards better planning. Compared to civ7, 6 feels more complete and familiar. And somehow, Gandhi is still the most dangerous man on the map.

This game consumes all your free time, and the only thing it asks in return is to fry your CPU, because the AI needs to calculate all the thousands of possible moves it can make, so that it can choose the dumbest one. 10/10

I don't feel like Fireaxis is iterating on the formula in meaningful ways at this point. Each new entry is already a significant additional purchase and the additional monetization of both Major and Minor DLCs ruins the value proposition.

Downloaded Civilization VI thinking I’d play for an hour. 6 hours later, it’s 3 AM, I’m at war with 4 different countries, my economy is collapsing, and Gandhi is somehow threatening me with nuclear weapons. The game is basically 10% strategy and 90% saying “just one more turn.” Every game starts with: “I’m going to be peaceful this time.” 20 turns later: “Your city looks very nice. It would be a shame if something happened to it.” Absolutely addictive. Completely destroys your sleep…

Civilization VI is basically a turn-based trap where “just one more turn” ruins your entire evening. You start with a single city and suddenly you’re planning world domination while arguing with yourself over tile yields. The AI will act friendly, sign agreements, and then declare war because you existed too close to them. Barbarians will always spawn behind your units. Always. If you enjoy strategy, history, and questionable life choices, this game is fantastic. If you like having free time,…

Civilization VI is that beautiful, evil game that convinces you you’re just going to play “one more turn” — and then the sun comes up, your coffee’s cold, and Cleopatra has declared war because you built a wonder too close to her pyramid selfie spot. You start with a single settler and a dream, and before long you’re managing an empire so complex you need a spreadsheet, three advisors, and possibly divine intervention. Every turn feels like a brilliant plan — until you realize you’ve spent 200…

Well… It’s good, but not that much. This is a turn‑based strategy / 4X game. The graphics are solid, the music is great, and the story is essentially a retelling of history. No bugs or crashes. Overall, entertaining. But everyone knows what Civilization is about—so how does this sequel feel? Like a pile of extras slapped on top of a game that didn’t improve the fun stuff. You build and build to trigger pretty visuals, but the fun of exploring and settling is gone. No matter how big the…

This game is a tragedy for the strategy game genre. Firaxis built an Interactive coloring book for people who find higher level thinking intimidating. If your idea of "Grand Strategy" involves being coddled by a user interface that treats you like a toddler learning to stack blocks, then this game has a seat for you. But if you value actual strategic challenge, you’ll realize that Civ 6 is less of a simulation and more of a sedative. Civ 6 has traded mathematical depth for visual Dopamine. The…

Civilization VI is one of those games where you can sit down for "one more turn" and suddenly lose several hours. Short Review Sid Meier's Civilization VI is one of the most addictive strategy games I have ever played, and it happens to be my first entry in the series. The variety of leaders, victory types, and playstyles keeps the game fresh for hundreds of hours, and the art direction has way more charm than people give it credit for. I played a civ 5 and civ 6 game back to back. The difference is astounding. The AI of Civ 6 is a terrible unfunny joke. Its a push over compared to the civ 5 AI. Civ 6 is a game of click through pointless menus and moving pointless levers around and for some building buildings inside buildings making building a city tedious, annoying, and unenjoyable. Sit down for chill game against AI, get half a dozen barb camps near you, but it's fine you have a few copies of a luxury resource that are keeping you afloat. World congress is called before you research how to make boats work, "every leader, including those you've never met, have decided that your resource specifically does nothing now" That feels, rather targeted, don't you think?

it is both a very poorly developed game, and a lot of fun. So what do I mean, its poorly developed because the AI are just crying children, they are totally incapable of playing the game. A military victory is trivial on all difficulties because the ai builds no armies and when they do they are way out dated. The Ai can't develop their cities, they just don't do anything. the Devs just give them piles of research and culture for free and to win a non military victory you need only outpace the…

After finally passing 1,000 hours playtime for this, I figured I should write a review. Civilization games function best when they allow sandbox gameplay to tell a story on its own. From the very beginnings of each game, you feel invested in your civilization and can understand how beliefs / religion can form from the natural habitat around you and the benefits it offers. Starting near floodplains can lead to you worshipping the rivers and marshes and the food they bring, starting in harsher…

Civilization VI – A Brilliant Evolution of the Franchise Civilization VI is an absolute triumph and a worthy evolution of the legendary strategy series. Civ 6 Is probably the strongest of the series, 5 right behind it I'd say (but both very very good). So Civ 6 is a little more strategy and planning than 5 was imo due to city planning paying off bigtime in lategame (though to be clear you don't have to plan out cities so long as the location is good) but the micro managing is annoying for sure.
