Baldur's Gate 3 is such a toxic game. I am halfway my second play through and I am already thinking about my 3rd one (probably finally doing dark urge). Like how I am I supposed to ever play another game 😭

fell down a rabbit hole, apparently the most thorough guides for Baldur's Gate 1&2 are written by a woman who has been thoroughly blogging all her video game opinions since the 1980s. she gave Baldur's Gate 3 a 2.1/10 rating and scathingly calls it a reddit RPG lilura1.blogspot.com/2024/01/Redd...

After having spent about 700 hours and having unlocked every achievement in the game, I figured I should write a review about one of my favorite, if not my favorite game, Baldur's Gate 3. (This will be a spoiler-free review) The developer's previous game (Divinity: Original Sin 2) was my favorite CRPG, so when I got into the early access of BG3 I wasn't expecting it to be that good in comparison, and boy was I wrong. Graphics First of all, and the main reason BG3 gave so much visibility to…

Started a playthrough with friends one day, wanting to see it through the end. Now, one year later we're not done because we can never get together to keep the campaign going. 10/10, it truly is a perfect video game representation of a pen and paper role-playing campaign.

To be completely honest, I uninstalled Baldur’s Gate 3 twice before the game finally clicked for me. At first, the overwhelming amount of systems, turn-based combat, and the feeling of being completely lost in the early levels almost beat me. To make matters worse, my first choice was a Bard a class that initially makes you feel more like a bystander than a hero. The game felt too punishing, overly complex, and the temptation to quit won twice. But everything changed when I hit Level 4.…

Baldur’s Gate 3 understands people better than most RPGs do. It understands that people are complicated. They carry pride, shame, fear, desire, hope, resentment. They want love, freedom, power, revenge, forgiveness, sometimes all at once. That is why the companions feel real. They do not feel like polished archetypes. They feel like people shaped by wounds, faith, longing, survival, and the weight of what life has done to them. That is why the choices matter. This game does not give you tidy…

Very good game. The story is good, the gameplay is too, and you get extreme freedom in your approach to pretty much everything. For example, I made a pact with a devil to obtain a powerful weapon meant to be used against the final boss. But since I had no intention of honoring the pact, I opened a portal to the devil's hellish manor, stole the contract, looted his private version of a British colonial museum, took out his pleasure slave, and freed his most important prisoner. When the devil…

I first stumbled across BG3 back in 2023 when it randomly popped up on my Steam page. I'd already sunk hours into the Divinity Original Sin games before that, so the moment I saw gameplay clips on YouTube, I was hooked instantly. Everything about it felt familiar yet somehow more alive. Here's the part I'm not proud of, though. At the time I was completely broke, no job, no income, so I downloaded a pirated copy just to see what the hype was about. I ended up playing close to 300 hours on that…

Baldur’s Gate 3 is the only game where I can heroically save a village, accidentally set myself on fire, romance a vampire, and politely ask a squirrel not to murder me—all before lunch. Truly, a role-playing masterpiece. The amount of freedom in this game is absurd. I tried to solve one quest with diplomacy, failed miserably, and ended up throwing a pair of boots at someone. The game not only allowed it… it encouraged it. Peak design.

More Than a Game, an Adventure I Will Remember Some games entertain you. Some games impress you. A very small number of games stay with you long after the credits roll. Baldur's Gate 3 belongs to that last category. Baldur's Gate 3 is the only game where I spent 45 minutes customizing my character’s jawline just to immediately get seduced by a vampire with better hair. I set out to be a noble hero and somehow became a loot-hoarding menace who quicksaves before every mildly suspicious dialogue option. The dice decide my fate, which is great because now I can blame “RNG” for flirting failures just like in real life. Every quest spirals into chaos, every companion needs therapy, and I wouldn’t have it any…

Truly one of the best CRPGs out there. The story, lore, characters (even though some of them are super irritating), and combat system are all polished. You can do an insane number of runs with different outcomes since it's a traditional RPG. If you haven't played any D&D games before, or even if you're not a fan of turn based combat, I highly recommend it. It's truly a one of a kind game.
