Developer Coffee Stain Studios
Satisfactory is a factory simulation game by Coffee Stain Studios for Windows, Xbox, and PlayStation. The player (referred to as "pioneer") is dropped onto an alien planet with a handful of tools and must use the planet's natural resources to construct increasingly complex factories. The initial goal is to construct a space elevator, through which the Pioneer begins supplying the megacorp the player works for… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Keeps me focused and alert. I like it. My neurologist thinks its good for me. She had prescribed puzzles to keep my brain engaged, but thinks this game is more challenging.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought Satisfactory thinking, “Ah yes, a chill little factory game. I will build one (1) iron plate machine and go outside.” It has been 200+ hours. The sun has risen. The sun has set. I have not. This game doesn’t ask for your time — it politely reorganizes your entire existence around conveyor belts. You start with “I’ll just automate screws.” Next thing you know, you’re redesigning your entire planet because one belt is slightly inefficient and that is now unacceptable.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game starts out simple. Build a factory. Produce the required parts. Easy. Then the next milestone appears and suddenly your perfectly fine factory is producing approximately one twentieth of what is now required. Clearly something has gone wrong. Not with the game. With you. You consider minor improvements. A few extra constructors. Maybe a longer belt. Five minutes later you are standing still, staring at your factory, realizing it was never good. It was merely optimistic. Maybe…

Realize you are extremely inefficient 5. Attempt to better your small factory 6. Realize you do not have the knowledge to do so 7. Spend the next few weeks watching videos on how to become better 8. Log back into your save, realize it is all junk, decide to start a new save instead 9. Start new save, build better, feel better…

I heard it was just Animal Crossing with more game.
unlabelledView post →I almost don't want to recommend this game. Satisfactory is a fantastic game. It does everything it sets out to do and more. You start by hand mining ores, hand crafting parts, and then you automate acquiring those ores. Then you automate crafting those parts. Now, you need some place to store those parts. Then you need some way to sort those parts. Oh, did I mention that you need to generate power in order to do all of this? So you start by burning leaves and wood and the like. Then…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great. But today, I'm going to vacuum the house, do my washing, mow the lawn. Oh wait. That was real life. That was what I was supposed to do today. Instead I played this. For 16 hours in one sitting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I could tell you about how pretty the handcrafted world looks. I could tell you about the strong and clear design work that gives all the machines and vehicles a distinctive and appropriate look. I could tell you about all the useful touches that make building and dismantling such a breeze. I could tell you that Satisfactory nails the 'Easy to learn, Difficult to master' learning curve. I could even tell you about how well this game runs on my ten year-old potato of a PC. But that's not…

unlabelledView post →There’s a special kind of danger in Satisfactory. It’s not the giant spiders or falling off a cliff while placing a conveyor. It’s that little voice that says “just five more minutes.” Then the sun is coming up, your coffee is cold, and your factory hums like a cathedral of steel and motion. This game nails the dopamine loop better than almost anything out there. Every time you fix one bottleneck, two more appear, but it never feels punishing. It’s addictive in the best way, full of small…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not just a game, or a simulator, or a sandbox. This game teaches planning and logistics I should be applying to jobs and use my playtime as proof of experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you have ADHD? Do you have OCD? Do you not value your free time? Do you hate going outside? If you answered yes to all of those questions, congrats! cuz if you start this game, all you'll think about is producing parts to build more parts for other parts to do other parts, and question why nothing is working and fail to improve your factory's efficiency. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't play this game. It will eat all your free time. When you're away, you'll think how to grow the factory. When you dream, you dream of the factory. The factory must grow to save all the puppies and kittens.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game where you sit down to figure out how to move some pixels to a new location then change those pixels into other pixels to be moved to another location to make more pixels. then before you know it its been +1k hrs, your wife has left you, you have been fired from your job, but you finally figured out the most optimized way to produce more pixels.

I officially beat the game on easy mode (random nodes and easy multipliers) March 2026. I've played over 2000 hours. It fulfills my need for problem solving in a practical setting. It's not everyone's favorite game, but it most certainly is mine. I need a better computer to fully enjoy this game. My 2012 toaster has been playing it all this time. Gets kinda laggy/crashy when my factory…

unlabelledView post →I don't know, the game is okay, I just need to put another 1000 hours into it to be sure. I'm sure my mind has either been healed or damaged from playing the game. I have gotten much better at balancing my factories while maximizing my resources, while my real life crashes around me. But honestly, what value does my real life even provide? How do I compare that to recovering all the resources from the rocky desert and unlocking automated power - before my first space elevator? Yeah, its not my…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know 6000+ hours on Rust is getting a lot of attention, but 700+ hours on Satisfactory is excessive considering you can get through whole game in 100-150 hours. About 16000 hours in total on display there, or roughly two full years of non-stop gaming.
unlabelledView post →I like how this game is mostly chill but still requires you to use like 5% of your brain if you want to build things efficiently. You can sink a lot of time into this game depending on how you play it. It took me over 100 hours to complete the tiers and space elevator requests. I also like how there are really no missions besides making stuff and finding stuff. The game just throws you down on the planet and says "get to it!" You have the freedom to decide how you want to do it and with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has ruined every other game on Steam for me. I would not call myself a hard-core gamer, but I have logged over 600 hours on Satisfactory. It's the perfect blend of exploration and (logistical) problem solving. And it looks absolutely amazing! I know, you are thinking "a factory building game - boring". But I can't explain it. The soundtrack is perfectly balanced. The "tutorial" gets you up and moving quickly without being overwhelming nor condescending. The graphics…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Satisfactory is a great game, but the default opt-in for data collection may not comply with GDPR. EU players should be aware and can disable it in options or block internet access for the game. Satisfactory is a fine factory building game. The first person perspective is not exactly my cup of tea, but the game is well made and fun to play. I have no complaints about the gameplay or design. However, as an EU player I want to raise awareness about the “Send Gameplay Data” feature:…

This is a great game, awesome music, lots of Quality of Life features and the development team is very passionate and they listen and respond well. Very good community managers. And they seem to still be working on the game, bringing new and requested features!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is great. hop on for five minutes and then 2 hours later you have a new factory layout, and then you say you'll get off, then you realise you need to fix something, and go 'ah yeah, will only take me 5 minutes' and then after those 5 hours you decide to go to sleep. which is a lie because the factory MUST grow. 10/10 would recommend this game, fixed my life

Then one more quick thing ...then you get the in game pop up saying you ave been playing for 10 hours and its 2.30 in the morning... so you just do one last quick thing... 10/10 - will rebuild again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible game with infinite potential. TLDR of the game is an endless loop of "I want X" -> "OPTIMIZING" -> "Cool I got X" -> "I want Y next"... I think this game makes the loop particularly fun with the new technologies you unlock further down the loop that enhance progressively the player QoL. You might reach some blockers that could forces you to rethink/refactor completely some of the design you had in place. After overcoming a few of these blockers, you get gradually hooked on optimizing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Satisfactory is the most appropriately named game ever. Putting together a factory and watching conveyor belts is very satisfying. The gameplay loop is long, and it rewards patience and cumulative progression. When you disassemble your machines and belts to move them elsewhere or to redo your factories, you get 100% of your materials back. Mineral deposits are unlimited. You can destroy the environment and you won't get attacked by angry giant insects. Speaking of giant insects, there's an…
