57 of 57 · most liked firstI'll try to keep it short, but here's the bottom line: It's a great looking game with lousy gameplay and level design. Pros: - Fresh stained glass visuals and lighting that you don't see quite often in 2D games - Great medieval artwork throughout the whole game (even the menus look incredible) - Amazing voice-overs and overall the audio is very nice and fitting - Some bosses were quite interesting to defeat Cons: - Slow pacing, not arcady at all (this ain't no Metroidvania either, don't get…

At the crossroads between action / arcade / platformer, all served with a very pleasant artistic direction made in stained glass. The handling and the gameplay are quick to learn. Everything works very well on PC or Steam Deck. I recommend! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PS30KwGjl8

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was a neutral option, I'd choose it. I had an okay time with this game, and it's priced well, but I was surprised and disappointed in equal measure. I'm giving it a "not recommended" because I wouldn't recommend it to a friend if they asked, "What should I play next?" It looks cool and features impactful sound work. By the end of the game, you've squeezed every drop out of your character's moveset. Playful mechanics abound, like breaking individual panes of glass from bosses' bodies.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not able to recommend this game for the main fact how much screwed I'm feeling because of the hidden "secret" in this game. The loading screens are promising you a secret if you collect all 111 treasures in this game. You are getting access to a locked up room: a bonus "level"! But what will you find there? Just a small room full of flying enemies, which will reappear unlimited times after getting killed, spikes on the roof, hovering objects which are refilling your dash-attacks and a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great art and decent music but it just short platforming levels, just play blasphemous instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I just completed the game and got one of the 4 possible endings. I really enjoyed this game a lot, and you will too if you enjoy platformers. This game really stands out because of it's unique aesthetic. It is a very fluid platformer done in the stile of a Gothic or medieval stain-glass window or scroll. Basically, you play a dude returning from the Crusades, (which crusade is not mentioned) to an oppressive world ruled by, what I can only describe a Christian theology minus Christ. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Purchased the game solely based on looks. Do I regret the purchase? Not necessary, but i would not recommend this game to anyone. The overall gameplay is very, very bland. Retarded mobs which throw stuff in front of them without any aim, some big mobs with a single type of attack, easy to dodge and kamikaze flying mobs. That's all for 2 levels per 7 sins, which nets to 14 levels. Reward at the end? Uuuuuuu, an apple. Not any kind of apple, the forgotten one. You don't do anything with them…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, underrated hidden gem. Unique artstyle, not a bad level design and story. Beaten the game on hard. For cons I'd say I don't see much reason to replay levels to get a proper ending, as nothing changes in the levels. So you just need to beat them twice, even if you found all chests in your first playthrough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrific art style and gameplay very close to old-school epic, Gods.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completed the game in 7h. 47% or so A lot of entertainming and perfect level of difficultyfor me. 7.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a creative, super fun indie game that is trying to do some things differently and for this it has all my love and respect!!! It plays, looks and sounds great and also has an old school vibe to it that I liked. It is a level-by-level game (similar to Shovel Knight) with a little town instead of a map. Frankly speaking, after all these Metroidvanias in the past years this is a nice change. Levels are a bit short in the beginning but as you unlock new avatars they get longer and more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun metrovania game that has a very unique and interesting art style. Definitely worth playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The stained-glass art style looks incredible and unique. Unfortunately, the actual platforming and combat feel super stiff and repetitive. It's a cool concept, but the gameplay doesn't quite keep up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The strong point of the game is obviously the graphic aspect. I find it wonderful and it's really well made. I've read someone who didn't appreciate the animation but for me it's perfect and fits very well with the graphic style, after all we're talking about stained glass (just take a look at the stained glass knight shown in "Young Sherlock Holmes" a 1985 movie to see what I mean). In short, it's a stylistic choice, not a limitation. The controls are super responsive. I would have preferred a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So i absolutley LOVED this game. Ticked all the boxes of a platformer, great graphics, great music, story telling was good. I loved the art style of this game where everything is done as stainlass effect, as you are fighting monsters they are slowly shattering and cracking...very unique idea and loved it Picked it up as part of a DareDrop challenge so i did not pay for the key. Streamed the game this evening and we compeleted the game...though we only took completed 50+ percent of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stumbled across this little gem while browsing the most recent games. Saga of Sins is an engaging game that kept me hooked from the beginning. I really like the storyline that is dark and mysterious. The stained glass like visuals are unique and create a really nice ambience that matches the storyline. Gameplay is smooth, switching between the creatures is fun. Sounds and voiceovers are very good and contribute to the medieval setting. Everyone who likes platformers should not miss this one!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saga of sins was a mostly enjoyable experience throughout the 5 hours i spent with it mostly because they took the concept of sin & stained glass and really went with it. Everything in the whole game feels like an interactive stained glass window that you play through. Not only the levels but even the UI & menu's, it's all super consistent with the theme. The soundtrack, voice-over and sound effects are all also pretty immersive, even entering a sinner's mind (level) starts with the screen…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks very pretty. I payed 2 € and still felt ripped off. It was just incredibly boring. This game has two difficult mechanics. First one is finding and accepting the horrible keybindings that you can't switch. The second one is being patient enough to dodge attacks, because you just want the boring attack loop to be over. The pace of the gameplay also doesn't drive any points home. Maybe there is a good story behind the big questions of God and Sins? Nope it is literally the seven sins in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very simplistic game. Creatures are poorly balanced. Griffon is the most useful. Two of the boss fights are chase sequences - hated these. Rest of the game is just meh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing art style with the stained glass art and effects and honestly one of the best UI designs out there. The voice acting is really good as well and there's an intriguing story here. Where it falls off massively is the combat which is just straight up bad. You expected a metroidvania game with cool upgrades and enemies? Well that ain't here, and all you do is jump and spam the attack buttons and that's about it. There should have been more focus put into the combat since the game is about 4…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a winner! Simple but fun gameplay, gorgeous art style and interesting mood. the game deliver on the visual part what bloodstained initially planned to be, with everything looking like medieval stained glass, in every single way possible. Althought there isn't a tons of boss battles, what's there is really well done. the multiple form feels more like different weapons, but it still do work and flow well. All in all, i had a really enjoyable time with this game, it's definitely worth a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hi all, I found this game is good bringing back old school with impressive graphics and music, plus the story quite cool there. Go for this game then ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yo! Game's pretty neato; it's got great memorable artwork, and some fun platforming combat game play in it. I also like the theme of fighting them NASTY sins in the townsfolk haha! I only played a smidget so far, but it's something I'd enjoy in fullness I'm sure; solid gaming from the get-go and going forward seems the case here. Good job, Devs! And thanks to DareDrops for the gift key as well! ~ 😍💌❤💚💛💙💓💗💘🧡💝🥰

This game is a knockout and would 10 out of 10 recommend it to anyone who is into the side-scroller style combat. They did such a great job with the story, art, and audio effects that I feel entranced playing the game. I wish they did a short movie or another game that was strictly story/chose driven. GREAT WORK! SKAL!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful graphics and nostalgic gameplay! I like it a lot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun game for players who like to find the last chest and clear all challenges. -intuitive gameplay -graphics are quite unique (at least I haven't played anything like it) -It is easy to play through the storyline. Quite another story if you want to collect all shards and find all chests. - a little slow in the beginning, but if you can get throgh the first five minutes of conversation it is well worth it because of the storyline All in all a fun game with nice gimmicks like mirrored levels.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A story with religious themes in which you enter people's minds without their consent to help them "repent", cool. Themes aside, it's a basic af platformer with a basic story that only offers an interesting look, But the said look, combined with the way the animations play, the movement feels and the lighting ties everything together, ends up looking more ugly and tiring on the eyes than beautiful.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saga of Sins is weird. A game with mediocre gameplay and strange mechanics, however the setting, atmosphere, and personality do the heavy lifting to deliver an interesting experience. The story is basically about bro Cecil (MC) coming back from the crusades only to find that his village is being ravaged by a plague. When talking with his "mentor" at the chapel, his mentor tells him that in order to get rid of the plague, he has to enter the head of the sinners and get rid of the sins. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended: 7.5/10 If you're looking for a short but stylish action-platformer, Saga of Sins is a solid choice, especially on sale. Saga of Sins succeeds because of its incredible visual style and enjoyable action-platforming. Transforming into different demons is fun, and each sin-themed level has its own personality. However, once you've seen the core mechanics, the game doesn't introduce many new ideas, making the second half feel repetitive. The story has enough twists to stay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great artwork and gameplay. Underrated hidden gem
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the most original 2D platformer I ever seen. Shame I don’t do 2D platformers but if you do you’ll love Saga of Sins. Works perfectly on Steamdeck
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this game through a cheap bundle. But it's totally worth it's money! Fun gameplay and original graphics, make it really immersive and fun. It also has a great soundtrack, that accompanies the atmosphere very good. The game is not very long, but that's not a bad thing, just part of the package, and finishes the story nicely.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun with education about sins.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently finished playing Saga of Sins on my Asus ROG Ally (Ryzen Z1 Extreme model). It performed well on the 15W power setting. Saga of Sins tells a brief story about Cecil, a repentant former crusader who returns to his hometown only to find it filled with sin. A mysterious figure in the church advises him to fight these sins by using the power of mystical creatures within the minds (or souls?) of the sinners. The first creature is cool—it has a ranged attack and can break crystals. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a shorter game (about 8-10 hours) but I think the art style and the voice acting really make this game worth it. The movement can feel a little stiff but it isn't anything game breaking. I think it's worth the money. At the very least keep an eye out for a sale. I did make a 1st thoughts video that goes into a bit more detail if you want any more info before pulling the trigger. https://youtu.be/ni566nAOjDk
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here is my review for Saga Of Sins played on my Steam Deck. Code from Developer Bonus Level Entertainment @BonusLevelEnter PROS Characters that you meet are all unique and all have own look and personalities to them. Story is fun and interesting. Levels are unique as all have own enemies and all have own feel to them and secrets to find. Playable characters all have own look and own attacks and feel to them also nice as unlock them and can use there abilities on previous levels to find…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The strongest selling points for the game is undoubtedly the art style, the stained glass look is gorgeous and gives the game a unique identity. The boss fights are all pretty creative and are what kept me coming back, your mileage may vary as to whether or not 100% completion was worth it or not, especially having the complete every level a 2nd time, but overall I had fun with it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got the game for 1$ from a random steam key and for the price i got it is it pretty good. I like the story and how the devil talk to you, the bosses where pretty nice, overall it was a beautiful game. My only complaint is that the combat got repetitive but it is a short game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/GhFZVNlNW5s Despite the theme, setting, and pretext being a bit too fanciful to make scene, it's got some charm in how it all clicks together.

unlabelledView post →A friend recommended this game to me, glad he did! (and convinced me to install Steam). It is very unique and full of creative ideas! Also plays great and has a clever end-game. Just the beginning is a bit slow, the game and levels get (even) better and more complex in the second half of the game. Animation is a bit stiff but guess this is due to the stained glass nature of the game. Really great game overall!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saga of Sins is a really fun experience. The story kept me interested and the transformation abilities made the gameplay feel fresh and varied. The mix of action and puzzle elements work really well. The game also has a nice length, I can really recommend it especially for the price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a fun little shooter platformer game. The controls were not my favorite personally but the gameplay was fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Como plataformas, empieza lento y torpe, pero poco a poco mejoras tus habilidades y se hace mucho más rápido y fluido. Artísticamente, es una maravilla, con esa estética de vidriera medieval.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yet another game where visuals try to carry the day, but as brilliant as they are, they cannot compensate for all the gameplay weaknesses. Saga of Sins is mostly a platforming action game with a very light upgrade system, thematically organized around the seven sins. The stained glass style visuals are amazing, and the animations mostly fit the middle ages theme, but the combat gameplay gets repetitive quickly, with the addition of new characters only briefly livening up the experience. I liked…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A easy platformer held up by it's great aesthetics and good voice acting. The stain glass look fits perfectly with the themes and makes for a very enjoyable playthrough allowing the simple but serviceable story to function. The care is clear with the many different backgrounds and settings. It won't challenge you gameplay wise or make you rethink your views on Christianity but it's unique idea. Plus you can not only pet the dog but go into his very soul. As for some negatives; it can be a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saga of Sins is a strikingly original action platformer that combines medieval morality, gothic art, and old-school gameplay into a single, visually mesmerizing package. Developed by Bonus Level Entertainment and published by Maximum Entertainment, the game casts players as Cecil, a battle-worn cleric returning from the Crusades to find his home village, Sinwell, ravaged by plague and overrun by sin. The premise is immediately captivating: to cleanse the corruption spreading through the land,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good little side scroller. I got it cheap and the graphics are very pretty and the voice acting's good. If you want a nice little diversion for a couple of bucks I see no problem picking this game up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun platformer game in a beautiful artstyle. The level design is fun, however; it becomes quite repetative throughout the game. I would reconmend the game if you ar looking for a relatively short and not too challanging of a game. 7/10 would play again!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect on the Deck. I love the theme, I like the visuals, sometimes the gameplay can be a bit stiff, overall a pleasant experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a revolutionary action platformer but a tight and well working one with a cool artstyle.
